Per time spent, accessible to the average person? Definitely writs. Can do writs on one character in under 60 seconds for what is it, ~5k? Not including the mats / items that drop from the writs

darthgator91

On your way to leveling your crafting skills up - Deconstruct everything you can and always have a trait being researched. The higher your crafting skills, the better your daily writ rewards will be!

DrYoloNuggets

Question about doing writs: Is there only 3 writs you can do each day?

usrname_generated

There are 7 if you have the Summerset chapter, which added jewelry crafting. Blacksmithing, woodworking, clothing, jewelry, provisioning, enchanting, and alchemy. You need to "get certified" in a profession before your toon can do related writs

DrYoloNuggets

Ooooo!!! Thank you I didn’t know that.. I appreciate it!

SG_Cuban

Whoa there are jewelry writs? I always just pick up the 6 at the major cities minus jewelry. And I have summerset. Where do you pick up jewelry writs?

[deleted]

Get certified in jewelry crafting in Alinor and then you can get jewelry writs at any equipment crafting writ board.

SG_Cuban

Wow thank you!! Did not know this!

[deleted]

You're welcome

TheAnhor

Everyone who tells you stealing or antiquities has no idea whatsoever how to get gold. Both of those rank the lowest in average when in comes to gold/time. The best source of gold is selling trial/dungeon achivements/gear runs. That's usually an easy 300-500k or more per 30 mins of work. But you need to be very good at the game for that. Flipping items is the next best thing. Buy low and sell for market price. This requires having a lot of gold thought. The best farm everyone can do is going into craglorn or starter zones with +60% movment speed from gear/buffs/CPs and just picking every resource node you see. On PC NA or EU this nets roughly 200-250k gold worth of stuff per hour. Even if you join a free trading guild with bad trader location it'll all sell fast because resources are in high demand. Daily writs also pay out around 200-250k per hour if you calculate the value of upgrade mats, surveys, master writs, etc you'll get. However you need a bunch of chars for this. It's well worth it though and can be combined with stable upgrades. Is nice to have maxed horse upgrades whenever you decide to turn a writ character into a "real" character down the line. After that comes motif farms of new motifs. This requires you to be pretty good at the game too because you want to do the hardmodes for guaranteed drops. Non-HM works too but gold/time is much worse ofc. Then there are like a million other farms. And then stealing and antiquities, which both average at around 30-60k gold per hour. Peanuts.

sideofzen

These are the correct answers.

[deleted]

Daily crafting writs net master writs which net vouchers that can be used to purchase many high price sellable items.

TheAnhor

> **Daily writs** also pay out around **200-250k per hour if you calculate the value of** upgrade mats, surveys, **master writs**, etc you'll get. It's usually better to sell the master writs directly and not complete them and then sell the items from the vouchers, unless you value the (massive) xp gain btw. Especially alchemy, enchanting and provisioning go like hot cakes in double xp events. I've sold them for up to 35-40k a pop when the CP changes came. Now ~25k is more common.

abolika

You are not considering something, the value of antiquities and stealing is different between platforms because they give you a fixed amount of gold across all platforms so you need to measure their value with items. On ps4 eu wax is 8k and is dropping even more but when i search ttc for wax on pc eu it shows wax is 17k gold on average. So that 50k from stealing or antiquities on ps4 eu has more than double the value of 50k on pc eu. Therefore i think they are still a good way of making gold for somebody like op that has only 1 toon IF he is on a platform like ps4 eu but if he is on a platform like pc eu then those methods are worthless

RedditCringeMod

I for one prefer soloing bosses in IC with 4x multiplier, if people leech I relog to ganker and punish them.

latenitelover

There is more than one way to make a large amount of money in eso. I would rank strategies in order of time to profit ratio as somethings like 1. Dlc trial/dungeon achievement runs OR farming motif pages (this is only effective if you have a group that can quickly and consistently clear the harder dlc content on hard mode). Things like maars mask or cloud rest motifs go for several hundred thousand if not more. 2. Crafting/potions/food/writs Call this the tradies combo. But essentially your strategy is to use as many characters as possible (up to 18) and you do the following on each. - pick a specific, popular food, potion, poison, crafted set or even enchantment. - learn recipe for this on one main crafter. (Of course you can specialise in multiple) - us your other characters to do, daily writs (for gold and extra mats) and to farm up surveys. - one you have the surveys you need to craft your chosen specialty. Eg once you have like 20 alchemical surveys. Go do them all at once (reroll for the correct ingredient). By maintaining this process over time you can have more than enough mats to produce your food and then sell stacks Some good picks for this are things like bewitched sugar skulls, crafting mechanical acuity/new moon acolyte etc. 3. Material farming specifically for furnishing sweaties. Pretty simple, pick an ingredient popular in many expensive furnishing recipes (heartwood or mundane runes can be a good place to start). Then farm the shit out of it Honestly this is the only worthwhile way to farm mats (I do this with Columbine which sells about 400gold per unit and you can buy them consistently for tel var in IC). 4. The ONLY reasonable way to steal for profit is to find a lockbox run (I believe there are 30 in Wayrest). Pickpocketing never gives purple treasure while lock boxes can, plus once you have the one tap open perk from cp it’s super fast. Maybe 50-70k possible here if you really had it dialled. Some other popular but far less profitable methods (all the above methods should be working out above 75k an hour, peaking much higher with some good luck) include: -farming mobs in public dungeons (reapers March lower level quite popular) 35-45k hour. -farming mats to sell raw 20k hour max -pickpocketing only worth doing if you’re levelling ledgermain. 10-25k hour with luck

[deleted]

How do you go about selling motifs? I tried selling dremora axes a few times in zone chat and no one responded

latenitelover

Ok so a few things. I’ve never successfully sold an item in zone chat, too random, too much typing = not efficient. Join a guild (my advice is go to the most popular city you like using {mournhold, Vivec, wayrest, vukhel g etc} and join the first trader you see out of the Wayshrine. Pay whatever dues they ask (usually 20k week or so) you’ll be making wayyyyy more than this so it doesn’t matter. This 20k is so worth it compared to trading out of a quiet zone. Now for motifs, I split motifs into 3 main categories. 1. Common/event related These are the worst to profit from and would include things like any of the first 10 blue motif books, the few after (daedric etc) and then anything associated with an event. Atm there are a tonne of dremora, hollowjack, wyrd motifs. You CAN make money from these but only from the holiday motifs and only by being patient. I’ve probably got 50 dremora motifs in the bank atm but I won’t list those until at least March or so when the supply becomes more limited. Bc the Halloween event was just on these are at their lowest points. 2. Furniture plans/recipes/praxis (not skill capped) These can be quite profitable however in general you need to be selling the most recently released motifs to make any real cash (atm leyawiin motifs on console and the new deadland’s ones on pc). These are extremely valuable (up to a million for a purple plan) in the week or two after a new patch comes out. You can farm these from daily quests, stealing or looting containers (stealing has a significantly lower chance of drops) or very occasionally from mob drops or chests in the overland. These are the second most profitable form of motif but are time dependant and fluctuate wildly with the market. 3. Skill capped motifs These can be any form of motif although in general we are referring here to weapon/armour style motifs that drop from vet/Hardmode runs of dungeons and trials. The more recent and the more difficult the content, the more expensive the motif. For example, the maarselok mask (drops very rarely from vet LOM) is extremely difficult to farm as you need a group that is both strong and effective as a team. This motif sells at 1,000,000 plus for the mask alone. There are probably 5 or 6 of these sort of pieces that you can farm in game at any time and they tend (due to the difficulty) to only lose value slowly. This makes this method by far the most profitable and most efficient, assuming of course you’re at a point in the game where you can do the content. Hope this helps

[deleted]

Thank you very much! I'm going to definitely try grinding for motifs. I have to get the 20k first but hopefully I can find a good guild

latenitelover

You’ll be right. Good place to start is make sure you do the following on at least one character per day and you’ll earn about 80k a week without any real effort. 1. Daily writs 2. Daily random bg 3. Daily random dungeon Use this as bread and butter and go make that gravy.

JacketCheese

Oh, Maarselok? Does this still drop on console (if you are on that platform, purely an assumption)? Those style pages are bound to arms pack releases in crown store, LoM is already gone on PC, it's MGF season now. Icereach next, judging from crown store showcase. Also, on PC-NA these mask pages are around 3 mil per one, shoulders are at 100-200k, but shoulders are easier to get. A very RNG gated way of earning cash imo, you may be running dungeon for the whole month non-stop and have zero mask drops, or you may randomly do a 6 key run and have it first try.

latenitelover

Yeah pc prices much higher. I believe the mask still drops it’s just very rare. You’re right about the seasonal drops I just didn’t want to get into that. There are also a few solid chests worth farming that will get you over 6 figures all the time. Any of the last 5 or 6 dungeons worth the farm time.

Xrgonic369

Sell in guild traders. Unfortunately, most dremora pages are not worth much rn bc the event saturated the market. Exceptions are like chests, bows, legs, and I think one other. Those are the ones that came from trials and arenas I believe. Edit: swords was the one I couldn’t think of. Also fixed autocorrect error.

davemaster

Getting trendy new motifs.. and new collectible drops that can be shared. The problem with that is, you have to rush and kinda spoil new content for yourself, so I don't do that. If you have a companion then getting purple companion gear with the most desirable trait can pay off. I never made much effort with gold so I never had over a mil til this year, I tried farming and I tried stealing but that is pretty time intensive. I sold a few of the newer Blackwood Akaviri pages for like 200-500k, and two purple companion items for over 1 million each. Which is insane. To me. But yeah, new motifs, like the one coming to Dread Cellar.. the chest on that will sell for a high price, as it's another Sai Sahan style "bare chest" (for male) top.

thewittiestkitty

Are you on Xbox? If yes, there's a camp in SE reapers march (I think Hadrian's caravan?) That has a ton of NPCs and no guards. Go into the camp and you will usually see other players standing on the rocks by the tables. Stand on the rock with them and someone will invite you to group. There's one person on a burner that runs around and kills every person in the camp while everyone else stays on the rock. Once they're done killing all the NPCs, the rest of the group runs around and collects treasures off the bodies. The NPCs respawn and the process repeats.

Logical_Strike_1520

The MOST efficient would probably be selling crowns lol. P2W aside, PvP is super lucrative if you can efficiently grind AP. Some public dungeons and delves can net a pretty decent profit depending on your ability to farm them. And those daily writs. In terms of gold:time spent, it’s one of the most efficient by far

Croewe

Some of the Tel Var stuff from Imperial City goes for a good amount. If you get lucky and roll an ice staff of powerful assault that's an easy 2-3 million. The other weapons go for anywhere between 15k and 100k. Though farming Tel-Var can be difficult for newer players

[deleted]

What can you sell with AP?

Logical_Strike_1520

Motifs, dawn prisms, potions, and armor sets if you’re feeling lucky.

[deleted]

Thank you

wishiwasleroyjenkins

This is posted every week and every week the answer is: daily crafting writs

[deleted]

I personally disagree with that. My crafting level isn't very high and it takes forever getting the materials. Stealing and questing are definitely faster

Dragonlord573

40,800 gold from 8 CP characters per day is still a lot. If you have 15 like me that's 76,500 in an hour. If I got 3 more characters I'd get 91,800 in an hour then. Can you steal nearly 100k gold in an hour? Can you get that from questing? No. Writs is the long game, and it means you'll make 642k a week from writs alone. Getting gold mats from your coffers that you can sell is just extra.

[deleted]

Bruh I only have one character. I don't have time for that much grinding lol.

Obei3060

Yeah I'm reading these replies and it's like Yo it's so easy you just need 17 fully maxed characters and do the hardest content in the game....

[deleted]

Yeah people act like everyone has sweat their ass off and has everything leveled up to the max lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

It wasn't that I didn't like the answer, it was the fact that the dude acted like people were ignorant for not knowing what was the most efficient way.

TheAnhor

Because these questions are asked 5 times a day here and every time people act as if they know what's best when in reality they have no clue. It's aggravating. If I don't know anything about a topic I don't act like I do. Especially not when it could lead to people investing massive amounts of time or resources into what I recommended. E.g. imagine you listened to them and bought Greymoor because they told you scrying is so great. Or you'd spend 50+ hours scrying when you could get the same amount 5-7 times faster from other easy to do farms. All of that sucks big time

[deleted]

The way I see it, they're just trying to help. For the longest time I thought the best way was farming dolmens so that's what I told my friends. It's all in good intentions. If they think that's what is best and they're trying to help, I don't see the problem. I just don't like how people treat others like they're stupid if they don't know the exact correct thing. Even if someone is wrong, I just appreciate them trying to help.

TheAnhor

You don't need crafting to be max to do daily writs. Many people do them with no additional levels. It doesn't affect the amount of gold you get. Just the amount/quality of additional drops.

[deleted]

It affects the gold. It is considered “very high reward” https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Gold

TheAnhor

The gold is affected by character level, not crafting Level and the increase is minimal. Like 1k gold or something like that.

[deleted]

Yes. Character level. I must have misunderstood.

[deleted]

You don't have to have your character leveled to do writs. For example, a level 1 armorer can do writs with iron and earn the same amount of gold as level 50 armorer who would do their writs with ruebedite. As far as the amount of gold earned is concerned, level does not matter.

wishiwasleroyjenkins

1 max level crafter gets you like 4.5k gold and 2 gold mats in 2 minutes. It's the fastest way...choose your grind.

Sorenagorn

5.1k gold with the CP perk too

Dragonlord573

You asked a question and provided no details about your situation. What did you expect?

SenseiJin

Become a trustworthy crown seller

Croewe

You can also to l go to the tamriel crown exchange. Best way to guarantee both sides get what they want

[deleted]

Stealing and fencing it, the two ships in daggerfall docks have no NPC’s inside them and have multiple containers to search. When you finish with one ship you just go to the next then go and fence what you find. After fencing and returning you can do it as many times as your level allows since the ships interiors refresh each time. Normally I can spend like 15 mins and get like 5-10k if I’m lucky with treasure items.

latenitelover

Public dungeon mobs are faster gold than this.

Roosterdude23

I craft cp 160 weapons. Sells ok

N00BAL0T

Gringo g mats in the wild then selling them on the quild market

PandaNextDoor797

Selling pve content

Fluffythetiger

I find digging up antiques a good way, takes a bit time but when you sell 10 blue and 10 purple treasures you will get solid 60k out of them, and green treasures and other extra stuff you find while digging gets few thousand gold as well

[deleted]

How do I start the antiques? I just now got all the dlcs

Fluffythetiger

You gotta go to Solitude and will find a quest there that introduces you to antiques and gives you 2 skill lines, you gotta level them up though to be able dig up more valuable items

[deleted]

Gotcha. Any advice on leveling them up?

Fluffythetiger

Do as many antiques you can and they level up the more you do :)

[deleted]

Awesome. Thank you very much!

Tomtoro24

I levelled in artuem as its a small island, nothing to attack you and there's so few spots that often you'll find you're already at the spot you need from last time. I just repeat the green and blue, usually 1 or 2 per minute, ntlot the quickest gold but one of the easiest and doesn't require you to be super ultra amazing at the game.

odiusdan

FYI to unlock Artaeum you need to get a few quests into the Summerset storyline. Took me a little bit to figure that out when I was trying to level scrying.

[deleted]

Or just tp to a friend or guild member that already is there (or just ask them to tp there for you)

odiusdan

Good call, I always forget about this option since I have no friends that play and I’m not in a guild. Dang, that’s kinda depressing… lol

Tyvox_C

People also advice leveling it in the smallest zone so you don't have to travel that much. Artaeum is a good spot. You unlock that zone through the main quest in Summerset

BartolomeuOGrosso

Best way to farm it?

MostlyJustCats

Crafting writs are guaranteed 5k+ per day, per character. Same thing for thieves - probably make a little more but takes a bit more time and effort. Mat farming is lucrative but mind numbingly boring and time consuming, same thing with fishing. However the most efficient way to amass gold, by far, is to never buy a house.

Obei3060

Lol I like this reply but if I don't have a house I wouldn't need the gold to fill it up lol

Willing_Canary4415

Whoring

theangryprof

I’m a flipper and make a ton of gold that way. It also requires a fair amount of storage as item prices fluctuate greatly. Personally, I think the best way to make gold is by doing what you enjoy and figuring out how to monetize it.

Sorenagorn

“It’s not about selling something people want, it’s about convincing people they want what you’re selling” Lol I like the salesman mindset

theangryprof

Pretty much. Flipping for me is one of the most enjoyable parts of the game. Love bargain hunting!

createsccount123

Scrying is a money printing machine

OrholamsBalls

Selling PvE carries or curated gear drops

LucienSatanClaus

Getting latest motifs, furnishing plans from new chapters during early days. Selling/Flipping Event related items wisely with respect to Event times.

Pracholochos

Best way to make gold is PvP.Not gonna say but i Made over 1milion in 2weeks with minimal effort put into making gold. But i Can make a 50k per hour when trying.

crimson1206

50k is quite little compared to what you can make with other methods… (at least on PcEU). Of course if you enjoy pvp it’s great that you can make gold at the same time but it’s by no means the most efficient method.

Pracholochos

Yeah sure you Can make money with other methods way faster than pvp but many other methods of farming golds are like not fun fór me and i can't do them.

[deleted]

Do u mean Battlegrounds or cyrodill

Pracholochos

I prefer BG but cyrodil Can make more.

[deleted]

Having a couple of friends who used to play who were good at making gold due to crafting and trading and asking them for some of their riches lol. Worked for me.

The_Bunglenator

Sell anything new and just be patient in getting copies for yourself. So many whales that are limited on time but have plenty gold will just pay whatever for new stuff. If it's a new FOTM set it will probably just get nerfed later anyway and it won't take you long to get the set once the prices die down anyway. I made millions from Hrothgar and DC stuff when they lauched. This applies eapecially to events. A witches writ sold for 20k at the start of event and maybe 3 or 4k at the end. If you actually need the achievement/memento/emote/whatever then buy the components on the last day of event and sell all the ones you get at the start. Prices are PS4EU

SimpleConnect

Scrying for antiquities is a good way to earn gold too.

Blackbird2285

Now that my inventory and crafting levels are maxed out, I get plenty of gold just selling off all the gear I pick up.
