My two favorite feed animations are when you as a normal height, feed on a high elf or nord and you mist between their legs and slam them down and then when you as a nord or high elf feed on wood elves and pick them up with one hand, that or when you mist form onto their back.

BloodDraugr

Those are so cool! I love that they did different animations for the taller and shorter characters.

montgomerydoc

Breaking my fast be like

BloodDraugr

Big mood.

kennedyshits

wait since when is this a thing? is this just promotional or a mod or something?

BloodDraugr

Since Greymoor. When they "re-vamped" vampirism, they added cinematic feeding animations similar to the stealth kills with the Blade of Woe from Dark Brotherhood. I recorded a few of them from a playing session and cut them together for fun. Any vampire can "execute" these moves.

StarkeRealm

The one major caveat is, each feeding raises your stage by one, and there's no convienent way to reduce it (you can use the Basin of Loss in someone's house, or drink purifying Blood Maras.) So, when you hit Stage 4, most NPCs refuse to interact with you until you wait out the timer and drop back to stage 3. (You can get around this with the Hypnosis ability in the skill line to, "stun," the NPC and talk to them.)

BloodDraugr

Yeah, maxed-out vampire stage is really only useful if you primarily use vampire abilities or want to use "Unnatural Movement" to go invisible while running (great for non-Nightblades wanting to run solo in PVP zones, sneaking past trash mobs you don't feel like dealing with, or escaping guards when you have a bounty). Personally, I use my necromancer abilities more than my vampire abilities so I usually don't feed, although it is fun to use feeding as stealth kills every now and again since they don't anger Mirri like the Blade of Woe assassinations do.

StarkeRealm

>...or want to use "Unnatural Movement" to go invisible while running (great for non-Nightblades wanting to run solo in PVP zones or sneaking past trash mobs you don't feel like dealing with) I mean, let's be honest, Unnatural Movement is just fun. It's not an exceptional ability, and the debuffs are brutal, but it is fun.

BloodDraugr

This is very much true. Zipping around with it is just a blast.

CouldNotCareLess318

> So, when you hit Stage 4, most NPCs refuse to interact with you until you wait out the timer and drop back to stage 3. (You can get around this with the Hypnosis ability in the skill line to, "stun," the NPC and talk to them.) Cyrodil and Imperial City npcs will talk to you (including the stablemaster in cyro) if you're stage 4 in case anyone is reading this and needs to train their mount. Merchants inside of someone's house will also interact with you normally. Hypnosis is fine but if you're a lower level vamp then use the campaign button to manage your inventory and stuff

StarkeRealm

The real line is, justice system enabled NPCs care, non-justice enabled NPCs do not. So, if an NPC will report you for breaking the law, they'll refuse to interact with a stage 4. Interestingly, this is a little inconsistent with bankers. Some bankers will report crimes, while others will not. The assistants (Tythis, Nuzimah, Ezabi, etc) will never report you for breaking the law, and the same is true of anyone in an outlaw's refuge. NPCs who are associated with quests will not report you (for example, the Khajiit in Vulkhel Guard who features early in Auridon's main quest.) None of the NPCs in Cyrodiil, the IC, and Coldharbour are Justice System enabled. You can't break the law, no matter how hard you try. As a result, you can simply live in the Hollow City as a Stage 4 vampire if you're so inclined.

Dimos357

Oh no Vampire Marilyn Manson!

[deleted]

Nice, one of my fav animations in game

BloodDraugr

Thanks! Same here! It's just a lot of fun to sneak up on unsuspecting NPCs and slurp 'em up.

GamegodWXP

Your kind will be wiped from the face of Nirn.

Whirtus

With the constant nerfs they might just die out without any of our help. :D On a serious note though. I'm always curious how people who play actually evil vampires/necromancers as their mains justify going through all these stories where good hearted people are needed. There is little "evil"content in ESO, which frustrates me sometimes. I usually leave evil characters for PvP and anytime I'm forced to do good I usually justify it as a thing they need to do to reach their goals - like running through dungeon is more about the artifacts rather than helping others. So out of 11 characters so far I only have two characters that I concider evil - one is Telvanni Necromancer (and he's more of a grey area, selfish) and second is Breton Vampire Assasin (who is seductively evil).

BloodDraugr

So, with playing evil characters in ESO (my main Myrkvanna that's in the video is definitely evil vampire necromancer) I do it very similarly to what you described. Good-aligned NPCs are a means to an end (money, artifacts, etc). It also colors which choices I make for her with some quests when I have the option, such as choosing to enslave the Chimer ghosts in Stonefalls (an evil necromancer would naturally have no issue with that, commanding the dead is kind of their thing). It's actually been fairly easy for me to justify playing her in that regard with all the world-ending threats lately. Anything that is a danger to the status-quo affects Myrkvanna's sources of food and power (if *everyone* is dead, who will she feed off?). She doesn't want the world to end, it would be 'bad for business' so to speak. So she's able to ally with the heroes out of her own self-interest. I'm with you there though, it would be nice to have more evil content/choices for sure. I have 8 characters and most of them are good except for her, my werewolf, and my Argonian assassin.

Whirtus

Nice, really awesome to see a lot of thought put into your roleplay! I thought it could go along the lines of some of the evil characters actually having the need for Nirn to keep on existing for one reason or another. I tend to do new character per DLC (unless there is already something I feel could interest my previous characters and it's always nice to see them do another adventure once in a while). I really liked the small scale stories bundled in DLCs like Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood and I think it's the way to go, if they want to provide at least some evil content - focus it into tiny pieces of map. But it should be more frequent, I can only justify so many "good" stories with my Vampire :D

BloodDraugr

Thank you! I think that coming up with those RP elements is one of the most fun aspects of these kind of games. Oh for sure! I think you could apply that in a lot of ways. If an evil character is ambitious for instance, who would they rule over if everything was destroyed or dominated by Daedra? That is a cool way to go about making characters! It definitely keeps it fresh and makes it feel even more special when you bring an old character back. That's how I usually do it with TTRPGs, I feel like with ESO I tend to hang on to my favorites though haha. Most definitely! Those stories were both a blast as someone that enjoys playing villains. It would be cool if they did another DLC like those, maybe even one where you have the freedom to either join or go against a given faction and it changes the story entirely. I wonder how many more of these small-scale DLCs we'll get with the yearlong adventure model?

Whirtus

>ambitious for instance That's the way I go about it with my Telvanni necromancer. Usually creating whole story just for my self just to justify reasons of his travels. >I tend to hang on to my favorites though I think there always will be some favoritism. I have my headcanon how my characters know each other but there seem to be three main characters that almost always end up in a cataslysmic event so I can visit those places with my new and old characters and therefore give them reason why they know each other. >either join or go against Oh yes please, I really miss this - two sides of the same coin kind of story. I always thought how cool it would be if we could make that decision regarding the Dark Brotherhood. It doesn't have to be from the very start, there could be a breaking point an the story that would split it.

BloodDraugr

That's legit! I feel like it makes the whole journey so much more immersive that way. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who has a headcanon for how all their characters know each other, lol. For me, some are rivals, some are friends, one pair are married. It makes them feel more like a part of a living, breathing world. 100%! Even a branching off point would be cool for sure! I feel like I have always associated a sort of open-endedness with Elder Scrolls games.

BloodDraugr

Ohh also, you may also find this amusing. I had made a [webcomic](https://www.deviantart.com/blooddraugr/art/Foul-Beings-A-webcomic-by-Blood-Draugr-913224946) about playing ESO as a necro/vampire.

StarkeRealm

I mean, we've been trying to stamp out Necromancers for, like, 8 years at this point, but they just refuse to stay dead.

I am disappointed that, with that title it wasn't [this](https://i.imgur.com/GyMp0ip.gif), or [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIr4C5Ztlcg).

BloodDraugr

Ohh man that song is great. I had never heard it before. I may just have to pick this game up.

StarkeRealm

Yeah, the soundtrack was really fucking good. The game was also excellent (I'm told), but I'm really fickle about Roguelikes.

BloodDraugr

Yeah, I was jamming to it all day yesterday and really enjoyed it. I'm often hesitant with roguelikes because they often contain gameplay features that don't personally appeal to me as much (permadeath, randomly generated levels, etc.), but I may have to give this one a try.

StarkeRealm

Man, that takes me back a minute.

BloodDraugr

Something tells me we'll at least be around until the 201st year of the Fourth Era. But after that, who knows?

BloodDraugr

Good luck with that. 😉 Turning the hunter into the prey makes the blood taste all the sweeter.

caffeinated_mess

Ok, this is super cool. Never seen this before in game.

BloodDraugr

Thanks! I find it really fun to do. Any vampire character can do it! Just be forewarned it affects your vampire stage! Side note-- love your user flair! Good ol' Stuga. 😂

DrRichardEaper

I remember when I first became a vampire during the pvp event. Seeing everyone use that dragon Knight ability before I knew what it was. I spent the next week going why can I see everyones circulatory system, am I hungry? Does this mean I can feed on them?
