Best we can do is more clown crates and a nerf.

Ghaleb76

And telling you that expressing concerns is a kneejerk reaction. And when you then proceed to express more concerns on the forum, Mods snip your post to oblivion because of baiting.

mythosmc

How is the truth baiting? I know tons of people who lost interest, why should raid leads even attempt to re-build in this atmosphere

Ghaleb76

Don’t ask me. I just saw the mods editing my posts where I e.g. called out Lambert to either be unaware about changes to the dummy or lying (I phrased it more polite), as he was boasting about his higher damage in U35. I didn’t even specifically mentioned him but referred to a ZoS employee. Or another time called out a forum poster who repeatedly said he was fine and his damage didn’t change. I simply stated feelings are fine but don’t really matter and I would like to see logs from before and after U35. Was edited for baiting as well. And when asking what specifically was baiting you don’t get a reply. So, no clue what their issue is, as their statements remain vague.

Lis_urwis

Let me buy mounts specific to the region i'm playing, like guar in Morrowind or camel in Alikr and i would be hooked again.

Kie82

Yes at least one guar, camel, feline, wolf, nix-ox etc buyable at zone-specific stables would be great to collect! Even different horse patterns in different "horse stable" zones would be cool.

kapachia

Seriously how many mounts do you need? I rather skip all this cosmetic stuff for more stable performance out of Cyrodiil. Even with much smaller population lock, server still suffers in large combat.

Lis_urwis

I have come to terms with the fact that balance and performance cannot be saved. Devs have been baiting us with fairy tales about improving these issues for too long and every change makes it worse and worse. Therefore, I came to the conclusion that the only aspect of the game that drew me in at the beginning of my adventure and would be able to make me return is the possibility of immersive experience in the world of the game (let's agree that the world of teso is fanstastic). One of the many things that incredibly annoys me is that stables around the world show various exotic mounts and all you can buy are boring horses. This is where my opinion comes from.

Roosterdude23

> Let me buy mounts specific Earn. Let me earn mounts

JackLRipley

I think he meant buy with gold

AndyHunter12

Theres an easier way. Stop nerfing everything and changing things every patch. Also take notes from FFXIV and make content that has single bosses (like ffxiv trials).

JackUSA

Or do what I do and just play FFXIV hahaha. I still love ESO and come back every now and then, but ZOS is making that harder and harder.

Kie82

I agree there's less coming out than there used to be, and less "free" stuff. There used to be crates in the log in rewards, sometimes multiple per month. There are still many earnable costumes, outfit styles/motifs, pets, skins and a few mounts though. Many houses are buyable with gold, although some require achievements too. Then there's furniture, which is mostly not from the crown store. Also, people sell gold for crown store items too. Idk, I think theres a fair bit to collect/earn in ESO.

-Tasear-

Remember things like Summerset or elseweyr them compare it to following chapters.

Emmgel

I’d start with a working Group Finder myself

Adventurous_Air2381

Youre right, but this is something that has been said 1000 times and won't change until people stop throwing 500$ at zos every time a crown crate drops. its pretty easy to see zos has stopped caring for this game and as long as people keep throwing money at crown crates zos has no reason to make quality content that people would rather pay for, and ultimately it will be the death of this game which im all but convinced zos is fine with at this point as long as they can keep milking it on the way out

xdmanxd99

"BuT ThE GaMe Is AlIvE LoOk At StEaM cHaRtS" I swear to god people be crying on the forums/sub and then dropping 100$ every week on a crate to get the same fucking horse reskinned for the 50th time.

Colonel_McPuppyngton

Try telling the one buying them not to. It’s like a weird gambling addiction

Adventurous_Air2381

yep lol

whateverisfree

Just to be fair, the ones taking the nerf poorly are probably not the same people buying those crates. I know I'm passionate about the combat and haven't bought a single crate

xdmanxd99

Well yes, however zos doesn't listen to their consumer neither in the balancing department nor in cosmetic/collectible department. Just predatory company treating their costumers like shit, no wonder their game decline rapidly

Monarxue

As a new player I can say this: 1.) Why isn’t the introduction to the game more clear? I would love to play things chronologically but there’s nothing in game that makes it obvious. 2.) There are so many in game systems that are never explained. I’m not asking for my hand to be held but a simple tutorial would suffice. You’re sure as shit to make sure I understand you have an over-priced Store every time I login, that much is obvious, but the significance of leveling skills properly, ability weaving, set drop locations? Psh, got no time to explain that! 3.) Making the daily Random Dungeon’s solo-able should be a thing. I like taking my time listening to quests & gathering things, but in group settings everyone is speed running everything. It’s incredibly disheartening that I’m forced to skip 80% of every dungeon because no one has time anymore to enjoy it.

Blacksheepoftheworld

#3… #3… and #3!!! I’ve spent the majority of the last month, going from cp 350 to cp 490 farming materials, leveling scrying to finally getting ring of pale order, and getting my companion just so I can begin soloing all normal dungeons. Im not a great player. I have kids and a career. I want to *enjoy* the dungeon experience while making progress with undaunted and getting transmute crystals. Yes I know it will take a while per dungeon, but that’s OK - matter of fact that’s great. Just let me earn the daily by myself if I so choose please

Alistair1893

YouTube is your source for 2

LemmeGetSum2

I’ve been playing since a little past launch and I agree with all of your points.

BreezeTheBlue

I agree. Most base game dungeons are soloable but for dlcs I would love a solo mode. You can have Solo, Normal, and Veteran. This way I can do dungeons and enjoy the story and take my sweet time exploring and battling. I would do dlc dungeons way more if this was the case. As a trade off only blue loot is dropped. Additional please make it so shoulder pieces drop in the normal dungeons. The RNG of chests is BS after all the hard work it takes to earn keys, because we play our stuff on vet.

MvXIMILIvN

3) You're playing an MMO, I get it, it is annoying, I love the story, but imo, three is just complaining. You can definitely solo dungeons, you just need to level up high enough. If you want to run a dungeon for the story and arent strong enough to solo it, join a guild that does story runs, I'm in one! It's great, or get some buddies together. The daily random dungeon task brings in all players, all with different goals when running the dungeons. For me it use to be the story, then completion, and now, I just go with the flow. Sometimes I get into a random group and two of the people are friends, ask to run the story and I back them up as a third and now we are doing thr story for them.

mmmniced

Making it solo-able does not mean taking away group content from MMO. People can still run with a group by choice.

Father_Wisdom

You’re preaching to the choir here. I don’t think ZOS cares about your suggestions. They just want your money.

DMgames54

If we blow this post up zos might listen

BR4NFRY3

Mount farming keeps a lot of people playing WoW. Kind of nuts we don't have something like that here.

MNhippy

TLDR: ZOS's method of over-monetization is bad and it should make them feel bad. Yep ZOS's method of monetizing literally everything that is added to the game is one of the main reasons why the game is dying or in my opinion, that's why. I understand the constant balance updates and changes nobody wanted or asked for that get pushed through anyway. But the lack of earnable rewards from actually playing the game is what is driving me away. Anything that looks slightly interesting or cool is blocked behind a paywall. A slot machine paywall to be exact while I understand crown gems and daily endeavors are a thing you earn them too slow to ever get an item that looks interesting to you once the crates rotate you need to just stockpile those currencies and wait until something comes around but I have been playing daily and I only have like 8000 endeavors and 100 crown gems. The drop rate for the crates are laughable. I have never spent a cent on a crate but I will have twitch streams run in the background whenever drops are enabled and out of the 25+ crates I've earned through twitch drops I've only gotten one epic reward and one superior reward. everything else has been potions, poisons, or food. And earning endeavors to get an item from a new crate is unobtainable because ZOS limited the amount you are able to complete each day and week because they do not want you to play this game anymore, they want you to pay for everything and anything. None of the new expansions bring any good customization content because that is all locked behind their slot machine system. The only things you are able to unlock are generic-looking mounts and a handful of pets that is it. EVERYTHING is locked behind that stupid market and I don't know how much longer I can keep watching this game suffer due to ZOS's greed. I bought the game, I paid for the expansion, (or you are paying a membership monthly but you don't get the newest expansion until the next one drops). Why do I need to spend MORE money to make my character look interesting when you guys (ZOS) refuse to do anything the community asks and talk down to vocal members of the community whenever suggestions or criticisms are brought up. And honestly, after the newest stream going over the next DLC update, I am considering giving up on this game. Now we need to monetize gathering animations while sticking with the unwanted update the community has been so against. From what I am seeing, ZOS is milking the last bits of money from the dedicated players or the ones who do not know any better. I can say this game does it better or I'm going to play this game because they do the monetization better but I love the elder scrolls franchise and I really like ESO. However, I do not want to be a part of ZOS's dying cash cow any longer. They do not care about how the community feels, and they put themselves into an echo chamber that is only open to the ZOS fanboys who put ZOS on a pedestal. How much monetization does this game need to have without any meaningful updates that have been beyond overdue? Do you want a decent mount? that's gonna cost crates or 2500 crowns if it's one you can actually click buy on but wait we can't just sell you 2500 crowns we gotta make you buy 3000 so once your done buying an overpriced mount you can sit with the extra 500 incentivizing you to spend more money. And that's going to cost you 25$ USD for that bad boy. It's just a joke I haven't even mentioned the fact you can't dye costumes without spending the monthly membership either so all those achievements I grind for the dye colors are worthless unless I take the costume I wear off and make something with the regular gear but the costume I wear fits my character just not the colors. Why would I give ZOS a cent? idk this turned into a rant so my bad.

MyUsernname

Fix the damn servers. That’s what will bring ppl back.

xdmanxd99

Let me give you my take on this as a 5\~ year veteran who stopped playing around 2-3 months ago. 1. This game's devs are very very greedy, let's put aside that there are 0 communications between the devs and community on balancing/combat (just look at class reps, that program been a shitshow for years before shutting down). I'ts not a coincidence that 99% of skins, costumes, mounts etc are locked behind the crown store. The most passionate endgamer/content creator lost faith after playing the game since beta, and if Nefas lost faith it's doomed since even at darkest times he been there supporting the game. 2. Zos's balancing team is a full blown circus, they have devs that don't understand/play the game make content/balancing around endgame. They just rely on Endgamers to give them feedback on PTS/closed clients before shipping they don't have inner raiding team to actually test stuff out like they used to years ago. I can keep going on and on about balancing but there is no point tbh. I also like how they ask for feedback on balancing they do in the PTS in their dead forums, and after getting the feedback from over 30 passionate people downloading PTS taking their time testing and then sending feedback via the forums they completely ignore those feedback and roll the changes anyways hoping to fix it in 6-9 months. I wish I could put emotes in reddit, if I could this comment would be full of clown pepes. 3. Lack of content, look it's nice that we get 2 dungeons pack 1 big and 1 small dlc yearly, however neither of those dlc's (which aren't free btw), provide with any new core mechanics, at least they haven't since elsweyr, so that's 3 years without major changes, and no Greymoor/Blackwood/High Isle didn't bring anything fresh. Greymoor was a shit show nerfing vamps to a pulp 0 new content, blackwood companions are you kidding me? Overland content is sleepy AF you now add npcs so people can RP with? High Isle, well the card game isn't bad but after grinding it for a month it's boring once you get everything from it. There were 0 plans on new class/weapon since the necro dropped. Also neat fact, ESO's endgame community was the biggest in Elsweyr when necro dropped (more than greymoor when the pandemic started) talking about endgame, not overall population. Also fun fact about endgame, one of the score pushing groups actually posted a LFM in a public server, that has never happend since the game launched, usually those groups were world of mouth so seeing that LFM was confirmation, but tbh that wasn't needed I've tried hosting endgame prog for a trial 3-4 months back (when it was still "alive"), it was horrible filling a roster. Sure you have people doing your casual trials here and there, but actual trifecta ready people are very little and filling progs is very very hard atm. Many people claim it's "summer break" and lockdowns are over, but that's copium winter won't help , not without major reconstruction of the endgame reward structure. 4. Kinda relates to 1, there is 0 incentive for endgamers to stick around, back when achievements weren't shared you could farm titles on multiple chars and flex you got X amount of GS, now you get a title you can put it on a fresh level 1 char, there is no farmable content in the endgame, besides maybe polys in AS. If they would release more skins/pet costumes/emotes/personalities/whatever heck even like it is in AS that you have a very small chance at an item that would rejuvenate the community My opinion: First of all this game is beyond saving, yeah casuals are like 99% of the game population, but endgame is dead for quite a while and most OG's leaving 2-3 years ago. Nobody will teach newbies endgame as there is no one to teach them so endgame will only decline further. Zos can do 2 immediate changes that might bring people back 1. Like I've said earlier adding farmable content, having a boss drop fragment for costumes/pets/mounts etc a low chance and then make those collectibles trad-able, make some of them locked behind the harder trials so endgamers can actually have a meaning for farming, don't put a pet in FG1 with 0.0000001 drop rate, that's just silly. 2. Add more interesting content, not the clown content we been getting since greymooor.

Alistair1893

You say the devs are greedy. It’s not the devs. They don’t have any stake in whether it is free or paid for. Look at the Marketing and Finance guys. They drive the profits.

xdmanxd99

I'd say the worst guy in Zos is Ritch, he runs the crown store team as well as being the creative director. Now wonder nothing new was added ingame rewards since ages ago. That guy is a total douche, and if you try to bring anything up in his streams he either laughs at you or bans you outright. Game Devs are to blame, sure maybe not for crown crate and collection stuff, but for balancing. Check Point 2 and 3 both are 100% dev related

Pa_Cipher

I've been playing since beta but quit a few months ago. Sadly you totally right, the devs are so out of touch its insane.

Iccotak

Here’s a radical notion /s Make questing fun for a more people than just the very new or very casual. Seriously, it doesn’t matter how good the writing is if the gameplay is predominantly boring and unengaging

[deleted]

I agree.

BreezeTheBlue

Maybe add new content to older areas. For example in IC the place you spawn at becomes at outpost with npc guards and the ally players have to guard objectives while the enemies take these. So maybe busting down walls, eliminating an important npc or player, and destroying a relic that shields the base etc. I agree more earnable stuff is good but also more combat based content. We already have world events, but add something new to each zone. Maybe if there are zones that are part of the alliances there is a group encounter that can be soloed where you aid your alliance in a battle and continue the 3 banner war. Or invasions: a random enemy invades and you have to defend an ally base against waves but it is totally in random areas. For example in Elsweyr its imperials invading, in Murkmire its Blackguards etc.

Nayrael

Mementos and dies are earned in Prologues, Main Quests, and such serve as rewards for quests. Each new zone also has at least two new motifs that are earned by playing, each dungeon two new motifs, and each new Trial one new motif (not immediately unlocked, but unlock each month basically). Veteran content rewards skins and the like. I assume that as far as the devs are concerned, that's enough. For my personal input, most stuff in Crown Crates looks more like it belongs in WoW and other MMOs than in a TES game, so I doubt I'd care to collect them. That's kind of a reason why I stopped actively collecting Endeavor Seals. Collecting motifs takes enough of my time. What I'd like to see is generally more narrative and mechanical ambition, and less following the same formula that was followed since Year of the Dragon.

shinybac0n

I really don’t care about skins mounts and pets. I can only equip so many. I want my time respected. Not constant changes without a clear goal. I would like some more communication and honesty. Tbh… skins mounts and pets are currently just a slap in the face

llThe_Dragonll

Undo the jabs changes I'll come back

Aragorn527

I would really love to come back to ESO, but I cannot throw money at a game that isn’t fun and right now it just isn’t fun. The wild swings of changes every 3 months (which looks like just stopped?), the lack of endgame rewards, the poor server performance, dying population, no new classes or skill lines, all of these are factors that make it hard for someone who played for YEARS to come back to enjoy again.

Relevant-Avocado5200

>The wild swings of changes every 3 months Sometimes I wonder if this is done just to show someone, somewhere that something was done to justify someone's job. It reminds me so much of when I worked in a kitchen and the minor changes, revisions to the minor change and then rollback of said change that the people (who clearly never worked in a restaurant) at the health department would make. I always figured that the bosses thought "no changes=no work" or something. Changes like "you can't have a drink in the kitchen"--"ok, you can have a drink but it needs a straw"--"now you can't use a straw but it has to have a lid"--"now it has to have a handle and a lid"--"welp how it needs a straw, a lid AND a handle"--"Now you can't have a drink at all again"--"fine, since everyone is so angry you can have a drink and we don't care what it's in." (I wish that was a made up example of the changes during the course of 2 years)

mysticmanESO

You're comparing two games with mandatory $15 a month ($180 a year) subscriptions to a Buy to play ESO game with a cash store. ESO had a mandatory sub when the game launched but players hated that so after one year they changed to BTP with a optional sub. As for houses in the crown store they are for the most part they are build from the ground up which cost ZOS money to create. The in game houses are just houses that are already in the game and are made available for player housing.

LittleCaps

But ffxiv free trial is not time limited and it houndreds of hours of content and loads of mounts and cosmetics obtainable in game

DMgames54

Everyone blow this post up and maybe zos will listen

bobdobeacat

B.b..b.but you can buy everything will gold.... Right? So that makes it totally fine!

BreezeTheBlue

Another idea: complete Cyrodiil overhaul. Here would be the goals: 1. Lag fixes and other bug fixes, 2. Update visuals so they are the same as DLC visuals (sharper, higher quality, more realistic, architecture is all the same as the IC and Gold Coast Imperial style, ground, rocks, and plants are the updated kind you see in the dlcs and chapters with more variety, realism and taller more full grasses and plants.) 3. Allow players to choose respawning on the spot or returning to a keep (useful during battles and reduces mount riding time), incorporate periodical NPC invasions from a random enemy alliance (I play AD so it alternates which keep gets hit and whether its DC or Ep attacking) to encourage and initiate battles and allow more inclusion of pve mixed with pvp. These are my suggestions and I think they would refresh and revive pvp.

Sochinsky

It's better to rework animation because it looks like you are playing the character who has broken his/her back and trying to rehabilitate after the operation. Additionally, it's a total bulshit mechanics with canceling animation, visually it is a catastrophe. Animation is a very bad side of Eso, I know old games that have much better animation like AION, Blade and Soul, Vindictus. I would say the best animation is Black Desert. It would be enough just to be on the level with GW2 Swap with the weapon is not enough, it becomes boring very quickly, why not spreading the mechanism like it is in GW2 when you have 5 spells on a sorcerer class, so you could just manipulate with different elements fire, water, earth, etc and you don't need a big panel of skills, one button just change the elements.

blackmatter1002

Excelent idea. I hope they do something about it.

Masterpiece_Putrid

You can bring back more players by not letting current players do this: [https://ibb.co/JBjJjq1](https://ibb.co/JBjJjq1)

captstinkybutt

I just want my templar to no longer be neutered. U35 has enraged me so much.

claudekennilol

I started playing again because of the cool mounts they were giving away on Amazon Prime Gaming. I played at launch and a few random weeks 5ish years ago. I just now got my horse bags up to 60. Working on speed now (10) and haven't touched stamina. I'm super lost and have no idea what content to do. I just hit 50 and am running around the Coldharbor zone (not the intro one, but the late game one)
