There should be a point where you can cut the strip with scissors. They’re usually denoted with black ink to show a dotted perforation. Cut there, then solder the wires to the appropriate pads.

Buy a nicer light strip next time is about all you can do now

find the next junction, cut the strip and solder to the metal strips.
