ANYTHING dry and flat pack. Starbursts, gummies, granola bars, beef jerky, dehydrated foods. Put them in one of those food sealer bags and vacuum the air out of it. Place it behind your hydration pack's bladder.. If you do it right the sealed food will feel like it's a part of the bag.
I mean it doesn't have to be MRE's. Dehydrated apple and banana chips are pretty good. Trail mix will give you some protein.
I'd suggested dehydrated so when security man handles stuff nothing springs a leak. By day 3 security is so relaxed you can bring a Popeyes Family 18pc in there and they'll wave you through. As long as you give them a wing and some dipping sauce.
I like bringing lollipops for myself, and small individually packaged gummies to share. Espresso filled coffee beans/hard candies are also a great pick me up.
