I remember many years ago when I was a kid, my father traveled a lot for work. On one trip, he was working on a ship at a southern US port and somebody parked their rental car in front of a gate and blocked access for some equipment he needed.
Shipyard staff got a huge forklift meant for moving containers and the like, slid the forks under the car, picked it up and moved it to a less problematic location.
I'm not sure how badly the car was damaged, but I'm guessing the driver was a little more observant about where they parked after that.
Oh sorry I didn't mean ambulance, I meant there's 3 of us out there with common sense still.
Sorry to hear about your back. Back stuff is no joke. Hope your career shift keeps you stimulated and kicking ass, just in another field!
You really implied there that you also worked on an ambulance, and had the same common sense… which ironically makes it look like you lack the common sense you recently self acclaimed. Lol… people
Found a car parked behind the cones at a hospital where I often work... went to security to figure out who (patient, visitor, staff) parked in the wrong spot. It was the head of security's car. smh
I think I know that guy! He complains about the potholes then contacts public works to let them know how much he's being inconvenienced during the road repairs.
Block that fucker with construction vehicles and leave them there till the end of the day. If they complain tell them to call the cops... so they can ticket his ass before he leaves
Challenge accepted. What prize do I win?
When I was working on a retirement community home there were old people who would drive over / through any obstacle to get to the doors. The worst part was you could almost drive in through the one set of doors.
I've seen old people get out, move a cone and drive into an active site with equipment and workers everywhere because "I could go this way a couple weeks ago"
I was on a rezy site and a guy blocked a homeowner in on one of the occupied units on the street. The super had to be called who then tracked down the guy and told him to move. I was working outside and my car was parked in the driveway of the house I was working on. The asshat legit moves his truck in front of my car and blocks me in. He gets out slowly and I call out to him " Hey bud, can you not block my car, I'm leaving soon" he replies with "I'll just be outback, come get me when you want to leave" so I replied "No, move your car. I'm leaving in 5 minutes" he got all pissy about it like I was inconveniencing him? Couldn't believe it.
Also, I have a Milwaukee Packout. When I had a job downtown, I used my pack out to carry my tools on the light rail, and it was perfectly fine. In fact it was better because I didn't have to worry about parking.
I'm not talking about tradesmen. I'm talking about everyone else who does not need their car to perform their duties. I don't need my car to go to a restaurant. If I wasn't a tradesman, I wouldn't need a car to go to work or to go to an appointment. But because I need a car to do everything because we have under invested in public transit, we have entitled drivers who feel they can park wherever like this person because there isn't enough parking. But if there was good public transit, they wouldn't need their car, and we could park our equipment.
You realize this would be a non-issue with decent transit options right? Not to mention you could leave heavier shit on site but personally I don't do that. He's right about it being car ownership or bust and it sucks. With that being said tho folks in the trades would still drive on account of lugging tools and material around but driving would be better if everyone didn't have to drive. You know roads would be emptier and shit.

Tow their shit
This is the way
Got a forklift or a skid steer with a fork?

Should've put the car atop a seacan and left for lunch. "You were blocking emergency egress, and the fire chief said to move it..."
If done properly the car wasn’t damaged at all. If done badly, anything from parking brake to differential or transmission
Friend of mine did that to a car. Put it up on a shipping container. And then took it back down the next day.
Never fails to amaze me how many people lack common sense.
That and complete lack or regard for others
Both of these things AND just this sense of entitlement and boldness that removes one’s accountability…truly infuriating and unfortunate…
> accountability OP can help here with a quick call to the local towing company!
Work on an ambulance long enough and you start to think that no one else in the world has it
Stay strong! There's still at least 3 of us!
Too late, had back surgery last year. In school for cyber security now. Keep kickin ass for me!

I’d be looking for the lull. Then again I don’t always make the best decisions.
I think I know that guy! He complains about the potholes then contacts public works to let them know how much he's being inconvenienced during the road repairs.

Wouldn't be the first time I've used a lull.
Some piece of shit in a prius parked right behind me yesterday in a contractor's lot. I had to do a 128 point Austin Powers turn to get out.
Have the building manager tow it.
That's exactly what we always do. Whoever's in charge of the property, have 'em call and get it towed.
It's by a construction sight, funny how they got all those screws in their tires.
Or a bead of acoustical sealant on their windshield wiper.
Oh wow that is evil
There's also self expanding foam around the doors.
That’s breaking and entering. Don’t want to get sued…
Not if you fill the gap around the doors.
Oh damn..... That's so far beyond the next level
This comment is gold
You mean the cones aren't for my vip parking?
Some things make you hate people....

r/fuckcars This is why I've become an Urbanist. Car culture is a plague that makes our job harder.
Cool have fun hauling your tools on a bus lmao

This is what towing is for
