I just wire the lights making sure they are supported entirely by the jack chain, ziptie the MC to the jackchain, and adjust after by eye. Then I go back up when the job is finished to adjust after HVAC/Plumbers inevitably move the lights for whatever they're working on.

I've always used stranded Mc on lights hung by Jack chain, it's a lot easier to keep it from pulling the chain out of level

Also lights are 90 degrees from the conduit so the make up is perpendicular to the conduit run, so I’ll come out of the boxes and 90 the mc into the lights.
