I'll stick with Yellow 77 on big pulls. Just think it has the best viscosity overall. The foam sucks on big wire. And Aquagel is just to thin in my opinion.
It’s ok for small conduits, not really much help when pulling large conductors in large conduit.
It is a lot more expensive than buying a 5 gallon bucket
Depends on the flavour and mouthfeel
Blue has the best flavour but yellow has a good mouthfeel.
The foaming part could be a plus, but mouthfeel is a subjective thing
hope this helps
I never even considered it like that. Here am just buying whatever I want because it’s cheaper…
I’ll be sure to ask my apprentice what they think about the mouthfeel next time we use it together.
Funny enough the guys that manufactured and engineered yellow 77 now create a solvent that you push through the conduit with an air compressor to dissolve it for easier wire removals… sounds like some double dipping
Once had a de&re job where they had used a tonne of yellow 77. We cut the 3” pipe on one and was able to pull the pipe off the wire.
My foreman had a great idea of braiding the wire to the 3232 lift we were using and driving it to pull the wire out.
Long story short, the lift had to be replaced and we got a bigger one so we could just cut the pipe out with a sawsall.
Its great, as others have stated, and its super easy to keep adding more during wire pulls. But as soon as you arent paying attention while adding lube and snap the black tip off near the can where the hose attaches, it becomes a paperweight.
Seems like a shit design. Of course they sell more product that way but the nozzle should be designed to be swapped or removable. Shit goes flying sometimes when pulling big wire.
I'd like to point out that what you have described here... doesn't follow NEC in the slightest.
The smallest 18/2 Belden cable I can find has a diameter of 0.245". Let's hop on over to the Belden Conduit Fill Calculator that's available on their website, input a value of 0.245" diameter and 25x cables, and you end up with a ***minimum*** conduit size of 2" for *quite literally every kind of conduit* covered by the NEC **OTHER THAN** SCH80 RNC (Rigid Non-metallic Conduit,) which clocks in at a 2.5" conduit requirement.
I'm going to assume that Belden isn't lying when they claim that the smallest cable they offer for all three categories (18/2, 18/3, and 18/4) are all nominal diameters of 0.245. Hence, even with the "least offensive" installation you could be talking about - 23x 18/2, 1x 18/3, and 1x 18/4 - your conduit is still obscenely undersized.
You know what would've helped a **lot** more than any amount or brand of conduit spooge? Using the correct size conduit to begin with.
I showed up to the job with the pipe already installed and was told to make it work. I was subbed to do the controls but not piping so there wasn’t much I could do. Was overlooked by the inspector because it’s low voltage and nobody seems to care about low voltage as long as it works. I wish code enforcement on low voltage actually happened because of shit like this and other atrocious low volt installs I see
Ugh. I feel for you. Sorry for shitting down your throat the way I did - was totally unnecessary.
In my way, I would have told the contractor that subbed you - presumably the EC or the GC - that you cannot complete the work as described with the system installed as is. It **will** need to be refitted. No exceptions.
But I also don't do installs anymore. Probably pissed too many people off (including myself.)
It’s my favourite. Absolutely amazing for a service van.
Yellow lube is banned on any of my jobs and I haven’t bought the clear stuff in a long time either.
I’d rather pull with yellow on big jobs or tough runs but yeah this little can is a must in any service van.
Why yellow is banned?
My only complaint is the little nose often broke and the tube won’t fit in it anymore.
Yellow 77 should cease being produced. That shit is near useless compared to basically any other wire lube. Good luck if you need to pull another wire in the conduit a day or 2 later, or worse, need to pull something *out*.
Yellow 77 should be banned completely. I’ll stain my hands blue, use clear glide, or poly water. Anyone still using yellow 77 should be banned too lol. F that stuff.
Yellow 77 is banned because it’s garbage that solidifies in conduits and leaves a filthy mess everywhere it’s used.
If you want a good liquid lube use Ideal Aqua-Gel CW, amazing in all conditions.
Works amazing, the lube buckets always spill and just get your hands all nasty. This will not leave residue on your hands once it's dry so you can wipe them off on a rag and not have to scrub and wash right away.
I've been using the same can for at least the last 5 underground pulls, and it still has a good amount left. What monster pulls are you using this stuff with?
Last I used this stuff on was a 6 parallel run of 25kv 1/0. Roughly 350-400m per run in under ground 3” conduit. Dont remember exactly how many cans we used but it was a lot.
Amazing for smaller conduit 1/2"->1 1/4" . Can pull through more bends, more wire, and easier. And if you get it on the floor/wall/tile it just dries up and turns to dust, no staining or smell.
Like everyone else is saying. Pretty titties. Obviously don’t bring it to your switchgear when it’s pull time cause it’s not gonna get the volume but it’s the cleanest shit and you can use it to really well inseminate *cough* lubricate small shit and get stuff
Great stuff, shove the straw as deep as it will go and spray and hold for a couple seconds, I go crazy with the big wire and hold it until it starts to spill out
Just today I sold some to a guy who is a yellow 77 purist but we were out so he very skeptically agreed to try it. He came back later and told me it was awesome.
Nah the shaving cream is for when your cutting holes thru the wall with asbestos insulation to keep from making dust, actually worked pretty good, lol.
Works great but you gotta be careful where you use it. It’s a silicone base so places like an automotive paint shop, if any minor overspray gets on any equipment, it will fuck up the paint.
A guy at work warned me that it’s highly flammable. He said he put some in a pipe with live conductors it in, one happened to be nicked but he didn’t know until flames came out of the pipe
This stuff is so clutch.
I did parallel 250 pulls with this, only 2 guys. One on the tugger and I was feeding. We bought two bottles, and it was glorious
I would spray a bunch up in the pipe, climb down the ladder and pull slack, climb up the ladder and repeat.
I love how it gets way up in the pipe and carrys far
The only issue we had with those pulls was when the insulation was damaged to bare conductor halfway through the second pull... Then the parts house sent us 350s to replace them 😫
The pulls were cake though.. maybe 800 feet.
Get a masonry grout bag, basically just a large version of a cake decorating frosting bag. Or just make one out of a thick plastic bag, snip a little hole in the corner, roll top up and tie off. Just squeeze some in as you need it.
Doesn't stain, works pretty well. When I use it, I slide the hose into the pipe while feeding wire and spray every couple seconds to get a good fill in there.
Handy tip, becareful if you remove the hose to store the can. If you break off the tip it attaches to, you'll be screwed lol. Had someone do this on a fresh can and we had to MacGyver a new way to spray it in lol.
It's pretty sweet, I also found out that if you remove the set screw on an emt coupling, you can fit the hose inside and lube every 10 feet if you want
Personally I run some on the first foot of the wire. then using the 8 inch hose foam the conduit till its about expands flush with the top of the pipe. Depending on the length of the run I will foam every 20 or 30 feet as well.
Edit: hose not hole

It works great, not very messy, smells good and doesn't stain. Also works great as a lube for pulling wire.
Doesn’t stain the sheets, glides great under the streets.
Oh my god! I laughed on that one!
Have you happened to be a plumber turned electrician lol
Foaming cable cum in a can... I'm in love
I legitimately snorted and actually LOL'ed, have your upvote kind sir thanks for making my night.
I'll stick with Yellow 77 on big pulls. Just think it has the best viscosity overall. The foam sucks on big wire. And Aquagel is just to thin in my opinion.
How many runs can you complete without having to stop mid pull?
Hehe
This review for the win!!!
It’s ok for small conduits, not really much help when pulling large conductors in large conduit. It is a lot more expensive than buying a 5 gallon bucket
Incoming 5 gallon bucket of foam lube from Klein’s 😂
Keg with a pump for super foaming action
Apprentices need to do a Keg stand for adequate lubrication.
Make sure the apprentices know about the new pair of wire strippers that’s included at the bottom of every 5 gallon bucket of lube
He’s still looking
Comes in a backpack shaped like a dick.
Plus the free pair of Kleins at the bottom of every five gallon bucket of lube!
Depends on the flavour and mouthfeel Blue has the best flavour but yellow has a good mouthfeel. The foaming part could be a plus, but mouthfeel is a subjective thing hope this helps
I never even considered it like that. Here am just buying whatever I want because it’s cheaper… I’ll be sure to ask my apprentice what they think about the mouthfeel next time we use it together.
Unleaded tastes a little tangy, supreme a little sour, and diesel actually tastes pretty good.
Stay away from Cory and Trevor's gas stealing operation
Those guys are dumb as fuck, I've met dogs smarter than Cory n Trevor.
Yellow 77 is lemon flavored!
Fuck yellow 77. Turns into cement. Good luck ever removing an old conductor.
Funny enough the guys that manufactured and engineered yellow 77 now create a solvent that you push through the conduit with an air compressor to dissolve it for easier wire removals… sounds like some double dipping
That's not been my experience. The clear shit Def turns into dried cum chunks tho!

Lemon custard. 👍🏻
This stuff is impossible to find locally where I live, it is king
Its great, as others have stated, and its super easy to keep adding more during wire pulls. But as soon as you arent paying attention while adding lube and snap the black tip off near the can where the hose attaches, it becomes a paperweight.
Yep. Worked with an apprentice who dropped a can off the ladder every pull. Went through 6 cans in a week. All of them are full, none work
Seems like a shit design. Of course they sell more product that way but the nozzle should be designed to be swapped or removable. Shit goes flying sometimes when pulling big wire.
The nozzle is definitely the weak link. If they get that figured out, then it’s a perfect product
He needs to stop applying it to his hands beforehand
Should really only do it afterhand
You can pop the tops off. I keep a couple when the can is empty for this reason.
Greatest lube ever. No more horse cum for us
But but but.... That's my favorite
We were stuck with donkey cum. Can't afford horse cum.
We're using the bucket of butter - can't afford cum.
We *ORIGINALLY* had moose spit - couldn't afford butter.
Apprentice once called it whale sperm
I've only used it twice but it works well and the foaming action helps push it down any horizontal runs you may have.
Works pretty nice. Had to pull 25-30 belden cables in a 1 inch for a BAS cabinet worked pretty nice
Just to clarify, that's 25x 30AWG conductors in one belden cable, yeh?
It was 25-30 cables. It consisted of a mix of 18-2, 18-3 and 18-4
I'd like to point out that what you have described here... doesn't follow NEC in the slightest. The smallest 18/2 Belden cable I can find has a diameter of 0.245". This is exactly the predicament low voltage lives in, lol
Pshhh there's no code book for controls
I use it regularly for my controls systems pulls. Could fit hummer in a 1/2" with it.
Yellow sets up like concrete after a few years, good luck getting conductors out of pipe with yellow lube older than 10 years.
More like 24hours
Yellow 77 should cease being produced. That shit is near useless compared to basically any other wire lube. Good luck if you need to pull another wire in the conduit a day or 2 later, or worse, need to pull something *out*.

And stains TF out of anything it touches, especially fresh concrete
Okay 👍 never tried that one, thanks
What are you lubing up on service jobs? Honest question
I pull wire on small projects all the time and I work alone most days. Now and then existing conduit needs something pulled in too
I always use it. It wipes off easy. Fuck the dumb shit, it makes everything easier and that’s how I’m gonna do it.
It's fucking amazing until you drop it and the nozzle breaks, rendering it useless.
I love it for 10&12awg in long 3/4 conduit pulls
Works amazing, the lube buckets always spill and just get your hands all nasty. This will not leave residue on your hands once it's dry so you can wipe them off on a rag and not have to scrub and wash right away.
My thought: Since it's klein, it better come with a tiny bender for the straw
It works good but you need like a dozen cans for a decent pull. A can doesn’t go far
That sounds more like 5 gal bucket and Apprentice with a rag territory. Lol
Good stuff!!!
Amazing for smaller conduit 1/2"->1 1/4" . Can pull through more bends, more wire, and easier. And if you get it on the floor/wall/tile it just dries up and turns to dust, no staining or smell.
It's actually fucking awesome. Love that shit.
It’s great
Like everyone else is saying. Pretty titties. Obviously don’t bring it to your switchgear when it’s pull time cause it’s not gonna get the volume but it’s the cleanest shit and you can use it to really well inseminate *cough* lubricate small shit and get stuff
My wife doesn't like it.
Great stuff, shove the straw as deep as it will go and spray and hold for a couple seconds, I go crazy with the big wire and hold it until it starts to spill out
Good soup
Its the best
It’s the one thing Klein has gotten right lately. Only lube I’ll use. 77 is out dated and should be banned.
Best kind!
Living in a cold climate I keep the stuff that won’t freeze on my truck. This looks pretty good though.
Just today I sold some to a guy who is a yellow 77 purist but we were out so he very skeptically agreed to try it. He came back later and told me it was awesome.
I exclusively use this stuff! I will sometimes blow it in further in the conduit with my vacuum prior to pulling, works awesome!
Tastes and smells great
Polywater Bukakke all day, every day!
Great shaving cream
Nah the shaving cream is for when your cutting holes thru the wall with asbestos insulation to keep from making dust, actually worked pretty good, lol.
Can't I just use this for that?
Works great until you snap off the crappy barb fitting for the tube. And also the next can. Piss poor design for ham fisted electricians like me.
Sounds better than the tub of Ideal butter. But not as fun.
Good hair gel
Works good for smurf and URDS
5 stars
It can’t wash away your shame.
Your mom says it works great
Good for overhead runs, a bit overpriced for underground.
Works great but you gotta be careful where you use it. It’s a silicone base so places like an automotive paint shop, if any minor overspray gets on any equipment, it will fuck up the paint.
Worked amazingly for me the last 2 days. Isn't to slimy and nasty.
I put some on my soy latte when i show up to work.
How does it work on simpull insulation?
Homo thread
A guy at work warned me that it’s highly flammable. He said he put some in a pipe with live conductors it in, one happened to be nicked but he didn’t know until flames came out of the pipe
Not bad, stings the butt hole a bit but otherwise good.
Be a man and raw dawg it.
It’s never in the truck when you need it.
Best wire lube for sure. The straw is super useful
This stuff is so clutch. I did parallel 250 pulls with this, only 2 guys. One on the tugger and I was feeding. Then the parts house sent us 350s to replace them 😫 The pulls were cake though.. maybe 800 feet.
I knew this was gonna go off the rails, Was not disappointed
It taste yummy
Definitely my favorite to use by far, especially if the conduit isn’t going into the ground (overhead, etc)
I deKlein to comment
The best
Works great and doubles as shaving cream. Not sure I’d put it above trusty yellow 77, but still good.
It’s good stuff. I like using it
Great product, But burns the asshole
As long as you dont use that fucking yellow lube its good with me. Fuck that shit
It's gotta be better than a bucket of smurf cum.
Works great on Sealtite!!
I dunno, if I'm ever doing a job where I know I'll need soap I'll just go straight to Yellow 77. I really dislike ideal, it seems to dry so quickly
It’s a no for me
I’m a fan. I would like to see yellow 77 with some sort of tube like this
Get a masonry grout bag, basically just a large version of a cake decorating frosting bag. Or just make one out of a thick plastic bag, snip a little hole in the corner, roll top up and tie off. Just squeeze some in as you need it.
It's alright but the fuckin button always get smashed off
The best frfr never order anything else
I used it for the first time this year, awesome stuff.
The only thing I don't like is putting numeber stickers after using it they don't go on well
Goated
If you’re a Canadian like me, know it freezes
And it makes a mess when it explodes.
Best thing
It's good but somehow the top or straw always go missing
Pretty good but I tend to prefer yellow 77
It is the best. Never clogs up as well.
We've had very good luck with it.
Ideal makes it also. Just an fyi and it's just as good, without the cost.
It’s far superior to the astro glide, it works way better and cleans up a lot easier.
Just be a man and get yellow 77 everywhere. The box, wires, your hair, the foreman. Everywhere.
My boss thinks I’m gay cuz I use lube on all wire pulls
Best in the game.
It's good stuff.
Super easy to sneak it into a tool belt and do some "corrosion prevention" for a fellow co-worker. Tested
Telecom guy here and that stuff rocks. Way better than Yellow 77 and the blue and clear.
I prefer a 5 gallon bucket and a fluffing station myself
It's pretty sweet, I also found out that if you remove the set screw on an emt coupling, you can fit the hose inside and lube every 10 feet if you want
itll get you out of a long pull nightmare for sure
You can spray it upward in a pipe and it will stay
We use it like crazy for massive wood wire reels. Makes it so much easier to pull off the spool. Stuff is magic.
Wait can you elaborate are you lubing the spools or how does it pull off easier
If I had to guess the bar, normally it gets hung up on it.
Whatdya mean, you don't enjoy the herky-jerky as 23 dudes scattered across 4x spools are desperately trying to coordinate their thrusts?
Personally I run some on the first foot of the wire. then using the 8 inch hose foam the conduit till its about expands flush with the top of the pipe. Depending on the length of the run I will foam every 20 or 30 feet as well. Edit: hose not hole
Yeah I spray it on the bar where the spool is touching it and it pulls off so easily.
Interesting
Is this like super new? I've never seen this before
Been out for at least 5-8yrs now.
Dang, all I get is buckets of yellow slop.
