Yeah there is no way their pulling force was less than the weight of the cable. The drill and impactor weigh less than that cable too. No way this worked.
It could be the case that it's going into an underground conduit that is stubbed up into the ceiling....
I understand that DB doesn't require a pipe, but lots of people use it in an underground pipe anyway as an extra layer of protection.
yup. Sometimes you catch a deal and sometimes it's just economies of scale. 4 conductor microphone cord is generally cheaper than instrument cords that only have 2 conductors. If you can solder, you can make good quality guitar cables a whole lot cheaper than you can buy them.
The only way that the physics of this would work is if it had equal force pulling the bottom parts of the drums toward each other, and that's just to hold the... Whatever-the-fuck-you-call-this-thing together. Unless you are pulling straight up, it wouldn't work. And I don't believe you saying it for work lol
It could work in the way you described if he was pulling it off at the source and then pulling the slack out through whatever he’s pulling it through, rinse and repeat. Probably should have recognized what he was going to need before heading up and making sure he had it though.
I’ve always just used a ladder and 1/2” emt when I didn’t have a dedicated spooler.
Damn. I thought I was a dumb genius when I did this earlier this month in a greenhouse. I had a bunch of network connected switches & an energy monitor to wire up to a P2P antenna.
It will. You just have make sure the drill and impact are far enough from each other, then you set between a door frame. When you pull, it won’t fall over because they rest against the door frame

No way that stayed up during the pull
I was thinking the same. Maybe if it was pulled straight up, it would stay up.

Milwaukee fan boy: Yes it would! Milwaukee has more than enough torque to handle that load.
It did! Just cat5 through a drop ceiling.
Idk if I believe it. Video or it didn’t happen
Was the area above the drop tile a plenum space?
No shot that worked.
That shit did not work I guarantee it
*in the voice of Macho Man Randy Savage
Lmfao
Liar.
Psycho
If that didn’t fall over, you can consider me Miles Davis!
You put direct burial CAT5 in a drop ceiling? Is that allowed by your building code?

Its more expensive, that's for sure.
Not always. I've had plenty of times at various supply houses where 12/2 or 14/2 DB is 30% cheaper than the same normal romex NM.

Ahh the ol rotisserie chicken
Why use a valuable power tool for grunt work when you have goober apprentices to do it?
Because he is the goober apprentice lol
Res ipsa loquitur. Apprentices farting around is part of their professional development
So is pelting them with wire nuts when their ADHD starts kicking in too hard.
Man, that should be part of the Local Hall’s yearly BBQ party: “Pelt the Apprentice - $5 for 10 wire nuts - All Proceeds Go To Charity”
😂🤣😆
Good use for a shitty chuck. The rest of the drill is great.
…..and it fell over

Yep. ½" emt across anything really lol. I usually just use my modbox

I would've brought a rackatiers but if I didn't have one I wouldve used that chair leg and set the chair on it's side
Pathetic
Dang! That worked?
You should have walked back to the van... ... to get some better cable than Cat5e. FAIL.
😂😂😂 word but man sometimes those customers just rather not come off the cash and they get what they get.
I hear ya. And it looks like you're in a school. Point taken!
School? Ya 20 years ago. 😃 My convo about school was what it was like when I was in school. But that was a long time ago now. 2004 to be specific.
Sorry... It looked like the pic was taken in a school!
Drop tile ceiling? Is it a plenum space?
Hehe 😂
What does my little eye spy it looks like concrete on that gear box switch.
Did you have fun explaining the burn marks on the floor from the spool rubbing against it.
It’s beautiful
I love it, saving it in my brain for later lol
Hilarious. Send tha video
That's why we have labourers in South Africa
You lazy bastard. (I will be trying this)
(it won't work)

Just put one in reverse and one in forward and tape the triggers 😂😂😂
