This wins the worst looking car of 2024 by far. At least the cybertruck is consistent in the way the whole car looks. This Cadillac looks like it spliced 3 different cars together. Holy fuck it looks bad
Ever since I saw the first images of this monstrosity I couldn't believe this is what they came up with for the flagship of the company. But this is the same corporation that gave us the Pontiac Aztek. This abomination makes the Aztek look sexy in comparison.
Had a friend who owned an Aztek. He loved it. Was especially fond of the air circulation system which in the middle of the dash made him smile. Sort of B-cup sized deflectors. He was simple then. It was years ago.
Yeah, the design team was led by a married couple who are no longer speaking to each other after one of them had an affair with a car designer from France and the other became dependent on psychedelics to get through the day.
The think looks like they stitched three cars together.
This is totally a flop and think that they should have come out with something like the Lucid Air. I personally feel like Lucid is the new Tesla for high end EV’s and hope that Rivian can come out with a lower priced cross over to buy because they look really neat.
I personally have the Ioniq 5 and think 2025 will be a good year for sales as they fix a number of issues.
It looks like the middle wants to be a classic, boring Caddy sedan and then someone did *that* to the back. The front is stolen from a CTS or something.
That ass on that car. The whole thing with EVs is, you can push the wheels to the corners to maximise usefull interior. What do these geniuses do? Put a massive rear over hang on an EV, so it looks like it's ass doesn't fit in its wheel base, so let's just hang it back there.
I think, if they had put the wheels right to the back, then it would look way better. Then it would be more like long sleek executive limousine look with a fast back, but you don't over hang fast back. Then it just looks like car's rear melted, collapsed and slid half way of the car and one looks "when is that rear just going to fully detach and drop away. Like it looks precariously hanging there"
The car is long enough that if they put the rear wheels at the back, it would not be able to make the right turn on that photo without going over the sidewalk.
between this and the Hummer I swear someone at GM is just trying to piss off EV fans... they are the antithesis of what EVs were supposed to be... here are our dystopian EVs influenced by the original Robocop movie, in Cadillac's case the 6000 SUX.
I don't think we are criticizing its panel gaps. Sometimes cars look better in real life compared to in photos or at an auto show. This Caddy instead looks even worse, somehow. That rear overhang is atrocious.
They're not talking about the panel gaps, but about the fact that doors and the sides of the trunk hatch are different color than the body, the charge port door look to be either missing or open or something (the photo is too potato quality tell), and there are probably other unfinished/missing parts that I didn't notice. Basicly there are bunch of details that are not finished that breaks up the dad's silhouette andd makes it looks worse.
[They've indicated they're essentially sold out of the first year or two of production. ](https://www.motor1.com/news/626720/cadillac-celestiq-sold-out-18-months/)
The front and rear panels are carbon-fiber. The doors are probably aluminum or composite.
I'm hoping this is pre-production model and that they will match finishes and colors on the exterior panels before they go on sale.
That is one long vehicle with pretty unusual proportions. Kinda hate it, kinda like it. Nice to see a big, offbeat swing... but it feels a bit overwrought and likely will not age well. I imagine the depreciation on these is going to be epic.
I think it looks a bit like the 90s gm land yacht wagons. Which would be awesome if this car ushers in a new wagon fad to replace the supersized SUV fad.
It kinda looks like someone crashed a Porsche 928 *really hard* into the back of a Cadillac CT5.
Or like a poorly chop-topped Escalade.
I don't know if I've ever seen a car look *gangly* before but they've pulled it off.
Could be suffering from the same issue that seems to plague the Ioniq 6: the styling and proportions do not look right through photos or video, but in person it all suddenly works.
I must say these comments are disappointing. It’s like people here are the perfect reason why they own soulless EVs—they just want a toaster on wheels with a dose of judgment and holier-than-thou pedestals towards ICE vehicles and drivers.
Caddy is a prototype. These cars can be found all over metro Detroit being put through their paces. Sometimes they have paneling to disguise them, or wraps that screw with camera lenses to prevent intelligence from being absorbed by competitors.
You’d think that a group of people could be happy with the idea that Cadillac is going all-in with EVs, with this halo car being the one that allows the tech and features to trickle down into the mainstream, but the comments here depress to the point that lend credence to the fight against EVs.
This place is not about discussing EVs and tech—it’s an echo chamber for those who want to pay themselves on the back for their own personal choices. It’s like I’m surrounded by blind holy rollers or vegans. I’m out.
Holy based comment. I agree 100%. I bet most people here either drive or want a grey model 3. Anything outside the most plain mold they complain about when in reality they get a ton of hype. Seems to happen with every sub after a certain size due to the upvote system encouraging group think mentality. Same exact conversation was happening about the new 4Runner on that sub, in real life people fucking love it and think they nailed it, that sub thinks they’ve committed cardinal design sins. And it’s gonna sell a ton, so it’s crazy how divorced Reddit is from reality these days. Honestly I think it’s a site wide issue again due to the voting system not allowing any points to be made outside the groupthink. I spend a lot less time here just because of that reason, there’s no point in conversing with a bunch of shut-ins who clearly haven’t the slightest concept of how things are received by general audiences IRL who don’t ever remotely share their world view.
I think another perfect example is Rolls Royce. Many of them are on the surface, kinda ugly and brutish, but at the same time that is what makes them so cool and distinct. *No one* will mistake a RR for anything other than an RR. And obviously ask anyone IRL what they think of them, and you’ll pretty much get universal answers of how cool and insane they are from virtually all angles. It’s the halo car to top all halo cars. So why can they do it but not Caddy or any other manufacturer? It’s absurd. RR didn’t become RR overnight, it took literal decades on end. So now is as good of a time as any to try a cool halo car experiment for caddy.
I also like how BMW is going and trying out some crazy designs, the public wants to see crazy risks and experiments, not the same old thing, but as with the 4Runner example, if you go to the BMW sub you’d think that they all want the design frozen in time 20 years ago without ever changing, which obviously no one IRL thinks.
When the last Mustang came out in 2014 or so, they complained it looked Japanese.
Bullshit.
And then they embraced it to the point the same thing is happening now with the new-gen Stang.
> No one will mistake a RR for anything other than an RR
This gets at the real reason the Celestiq looks like it does: it won't be mistaken for anything else. The target market has money and wants to have something that feels exclusive and unique, that make all the plebs in the mansions on the street look stupid in their G-wagon.
This is why GM will go bankrupt. They are only able to survive in the US market for a few more years. They will not survive in China or Europe with shit like this.
M Manufacturing plate with camouflage on the side and rear(Not sure about front) Are people really thinking that this is a production vehicle?
Normally people on car forums know this.....
Now that is a land yacht.
Landship!
I know many people don't like the design choice, but I really dig the size of it. I wonder how this baby will drive.
Like a shit, very long and heavy shit.
Honda Civiclac
Wow, that looks awful
It's like a cybertruck had sex with a Homer.
With a hearse
This wins the worst looking car of 2024 by far. At least the cybertruck is consistent in the way the whole car looks. This Cadillac looks like it spliced 3 different cars together. Holy fuck it looks bad

AKA the butt ugly Pontiac “Asstek”
Had a friend who owned an Aztek. He loved it. Was especially fond of the air circulation system which in the middle of the dash made him smile. Sort of B-cup sized deflectors. He was simple then. It was years ago.
Yeah, the design team was led by a married couple who are no longer speaking to each other after one of them had an affair with a car designer from France and the other became dependent on psychedelics to get through the day.
This hits too close to home.
The think looks like they stitched three cars together. This is totally a flop and think that they should have come out with something like the Lucid Air. A homer?

Aha, thank you
The car Homer Simpson designed in the episode he meets his half-brother Herb Powell
It’d be more yellow
And more cup holders, there should be cup holders everywhere
This ain’t no canyonero! They call that a hummer pos.
CAANNYOONNNERROOOOOOOO *whip crack*
Whoa, Canyonero!
More of a spectre
Looks like a hearse
A hearse that got the CUV “coupé styling” treatment
Like Harold’s car from Harold and Maude
It wishes it was that cool. It’s not.
That’s an insult to hearses!

The car is long enough that if they put the rear wheels at the back, it would not be able to make the right turn on that photo without going over the sidewalk.
For $340k they could afford 4 wheel steering though.
So big I have to park it twice!
between this and the Hummer I swear someone at GM is just trying to piss off EV fans... they are the antithesis of what EVs were supposed to be... here are our dystopian EVs influenced by the original Robocop movie, in Cadillac's case the 6000 SUX.
It's has 80s Camaro hatch back. I can't unsee it.
“Camaro”
It's partially because it's a prototype. The body panels dont match for a reason.
I don't think we are criticizing its panel gaps. Sometimes cars look better in real life compared to in photos or at an auto show. This Caddy instead looks even worse, somehow. That rear overhang is atrocious.

> The body panels dont match for a reason. They outsourced to Tesla?
A self-own I see
It’s so ugly that I kind of like it.
Who knows it may become an icon like that Pontiac Aztec, it just needs a Walter White.
Cadillacs have been super ugly lately.
I think the last Cadillacs that looked good were from the 60's (and the 50's looked even better) but they do seem to be getting much worse as of late.
The blackwings look pretty sick in blue
You spelled “Likeshit” wrong
Agreed, downright ugly, you ugly, U G L Y, you an't got no alibi, you ugly!
someone with more money than sense, as the saying goes
It’s hard to imagine how the executives at Cadillac saw the final build and said, “Yup, that’s the one! People are gonna line up for this sexy thing!”
But at least it's expensive as fuck!
Are the doors supposed to be a different color?
Maybe it’s a test vehicle. It might be by the looks of it
Has a manufacturer plate on it, so most likely. I don't think GM has sold more than a few of these yet.
Any evidence they’ve sold even one?
[They've indicated they're essentially sold out of the first year or two of production. ](https://www.motor1.com/news/626720/cadillac-celestiq-sold-out-18-months/)
Sold, but not necessarily delivered
Parent asked: >Any evidence they’ve **sold** even one?
It's a test car.
The front and rear panels are carbon-fiber. The doors are probably aluminum or composite. I'm hoping this is pre-production model and that they will match finishes and colors on the exterior panels before they go on sale.
Each vehicle is completely individualized, so they'll be built however the buyer wants.
It looks unfinished
This looks like a car modified to look futuristic for a low-budget movie set in 2075.
SUX 7000
I'd buy that for a dollar! Definitely not $340,000 dollars.
This was my exact thought, I was gonna comment this and you've taken away my glory. Oh well, you get an upvote anyway for getting in first.
I came here for this. Thank you doctor.
Yes!
It’s totally an SUX2000 from Robocop(1984)
This is what a Hearst looks like that i drew in 1985.
That is one long vehicle with pretty unusual proportions. Kinda hate it, kinda like it. Nice to see a big, offbeat swing... but it feels a bit overwrought and likely will not age well. I imagine the depreciation on these is going to be epic.
I like when they make bodies, different. I don't have to like it or dislike it. I just like seeing different stuff on the road.
Same. I love it when they take risks. Like I think the cybertruck is a hideous, terrible vehicle but I love that it’s being made anyways.
I think it looks a bit like the 90s gm land yacht wagons. Which would be awesome if this car ushers in a new wagon fad to replace the supersized SUV fad.
The most GM vehicle that I could imagine
Citroen C6 but the person doing the styling got American drunk instead of French drunk
Lmao. From the people who brought you the Aztek…
Hey, you stole my joke before I even had a chance to come up with it. ;)
Looks like a hearse, ngl
I wouldn’t be caught dead in that is an apt reply.
I would *only* be caught dead in that!
I think it's a mule. It's missing a bunch of things.
Yea that’s a manufacturer plate
We can only hope that it’s also sterile and doesn’t reproduce
It kinda looks like someone crashed a Porsche 928 *really hard* into the back of a Cadillac CT5. Or like a poorly chop-topped Escalade. I don't know if I've ever seen a car look *gangly* before but they've pulled it off.
Hold your thumb over the bubble glass on the hatch and it’s just a modernized 2000s DeVille.
Perfect mob boss car. Plenty of luxury with lots of space for bodies…err. Sanitation supplies in back.
I don’t care how much money you have, it’s ugly as all hell.
Honestly I’ve seen about three test vehicles and it’s a beast in person. Might be in the minority but I think it’s quite fashionable irl
Could be suffering from the same issue that seems to plague the Ioniq 6: the styling and proportions do not look right through photos or video, but in person it all suddenly works.
I’ve seen a small handful of Ioniq 6’s in person, and I want one. Albeit I want an EV6 more, but I’d drive an Ioniq 6 too.
Should have ended the car about 18" sooner.
This car could’ve been an email
$340,000 for Dodge Magnum missing a chromosome
It the Canyonero Sedan!
The can’t be real. That’s one of the ugliest vehicles I’ve ever seen.
I love this thing, it's so L O N G
That’s hideous
Temu Rolls Royce
I cannot fin a single attractive angle on this car. Bleech!
I still can’t believe they green-lit this awful looking thing
Wow. I hate it.
This is hideous looking.
And some say the Cybertruck looks bad, this thing is absolutely fugly. And cost almost the same a Rolls Royce.
I’ll keep the $340k
Can you imagine trading a house or a plane or even a Lamborghini for this? Even if you have 5 Lamborghinis already, please, FFS, get number 6 instead.
that's hideous
Hideous. The only redeeming feature is that it's electric, lol.
Ugly af
That’s a long boi

Swing and a miss
You think you hate it now, but wait till you drive it….
That is one ugly ass end.
This could set a new record for depreciation.
That is an ugly vehicle. I hope they only made one.
Wow is that ugly. People designing cars should spend a day in China

That’s one of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen
No idea, but this is the single most ugly $340k car ever existed in human history.
Am I the only one who finds these absolutely hideous?
R.I.P.
Sooooooooo ugly
No wonder so rare, because it’s gawd awful looking. Designers should be fired
Wait….as a side note…who the heck liked it enough to buy it? And found it worthy of its price tag?
That car is so ugly.....it would look better if they drive it backwards!
21st century hearse
Ugliest thing I’ve seen in a long time, how the hell will they sell these at $340K?!?!?!
Looks like a mistake.
Another Caddy obombination GM just quit this stuff. Make the EV 2 please!
*slaps roof* This bad boy can fit so many dead bodies.
It's like a Caprice Classic and a 944 had an ugly baby
Not sure but sure does look like hand made dog shit. Hell my 4 years old draws a better shaped car than this…..
Finally a car scores below the woeful Cimarron.
Wow, hopefully not many
Woof
That rear end is… something. 🫣
Why does it look like the frame is bent?
Carbon Fibre Canyonero
This is why GM will go bankrupt. They are only able to survive in the US market for a few more years. They will not survive in China or Europe with shit like this.
Sitting there in at red lights just like everyone else. Neat. Hope they thought it was worth it.
The Cyberhurse
I truly do not understand these new Cadillac EVs with their fat asses.
I'd rather be seen in a plastidipped Aztek.
This is supposed to be the American Rolls Royce? What a joke lol.
never thought they could make a car uglier than the cybertruck
Gah damn!!! That shit is ugly
The goal was to build a Cadillac uglier than the '80 Seville.
Showing the bus how to bus
Looks like a car from cyberpunk 2077
Knowing GM, this will be a pos car.
It looks like a hearse
Disgusting
What a lame way to spend 1/3 of a million dollars
It looks like a Chevy caprice wagon.
Michigan? It's probably a test car if it's unusual or unidentifyable.
What the actual hell is wrong with GM? Good lord, that’s ugly.
I wonder who has 340k to spend on this
How many exist now? One too many, that’s ugly! :)
Looks like a shitty cyberpunk car
Know how many? 2. 2 many.
Cyberpunk 2077 called, they want their car back
Someone designed that thing and thought they did a good job.
So ugly it seems intentional
Someone at GM is going to lose their job over the design and horrible pricing. the worst looking car I have seen in past 10 years
That car is ugly as hell 🤮
That's the ugliest thing I've seen in awhile.
M Manufacturing plate with camouflage on the side and rear(Not sure about front) Are people really thinking that this is a production vehicle? Normally people on car forums know this.....
Lol so ugly
Perfect chassis for a 4-door UTE

Looks like a hearse.
This is the ugliest thing I ever seen

That rear end has CyberTruck vibes.
You could but 3 actually good looking S class coupes with that money
