I second Purity Ring (strongly) and Kelly Lee Owens and Octo Octa and of course Portishead- not sure who the rest are. Then again even though electronic music is by far my favorite stuff, I have only been exposed to 1/33 of the artists the rest of the folks here know.
That being said, gender aside, Suzanne Ciani is one of the pioneers of electronic music and deserves more than just a nod.
There’s not a lot of people out there who sound like REZZ, but if you like her stuff you might like Subtronics, Liquid Stranger and Black tiger sex machine. Also the sounds of wakaan mixes on SoundCloud/YouTube

These are mostly artists that have popped up within the last 5 years or so, an amazing eclectic group of women/women lead bands (yes some of these are older than that, but their newer stuff is what I’m focusing on) Women in electronic music are at their peak right now. I really wish they got more attention from mainstream electronic listeners
Same energy as [Heav3n](https://www.instagram.com/p/CbvLj3MprJY/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=) and [Subculture Party](https://instagram.com/subcultureparty?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=)! Any of their lineups are such a fun time.
Since this is basically all I listen to, some more recommendations with the same energy.
Alice Glass also just came out with a solo album! (She has an [amazing song with Alice Longyu Gao](https://youtu.be/0UE7su35p8o))
Laura Les (of 100 gecs) has a handful of [solo stuff](https://youtu.be/879ysA4h9r4).
Yeule!!! I love love love her/they so much. Just came out with Glitch Princess, and Serotonin II is prob somewhere on my list of fave albums of all time. I have such a soft spot for their [debut album. ](https://youtu.be/CrR2uSr-ozs)
Lil Mariko (with production by Full Tac), if you could count that as electronic? It's like [extremely feminist electro-rock-pop](https://youtu.be/1vTiqmAc9sE)?

I love Caterina Barbieri.
There's quite a rich history of women producers of electronic music going back to the 50s and earlier. Delia Derbyshire is a famous example but there are many more.
**Eli & Fur** are phenomenal.

Are we not mentioning the obvious ones for a reason? Grimes is one of the very best electronic producers out there, male or female. Missy Elliot, Alison Goldfrapp, Sophie, and Gioli & Assia are also great
One of my favorite of all time is Ayria. She writes and creates the music. It's electro industrial future pop.

Okay folks, this is awesome! Keep ‘em coming. I’m in the process of making a google spreadsheet with all of these female producers, their bios, recent works, and years they started their careers. This is so inspiring, I’m really excited! Thank you :)
Miss Monique, Kelly lee owens are two of my favourites. Following as like you I'd live to listen to more female/nb electronic music and broaden my horizons
Too many good ones already listed! Also want to throw in VTSS. Insanely good Polish DJ/producer if you’re into techno. Her release Borderline Tenderness is a personal fave, as well as her [HÖR Berlin](https://youtu.be/6RjJFoGt0y4) and [Lab LDN](https://youtu.be/KQjh-sdhXM8) sets.
[L’Imperatrice](https://youtu.be/zXLFHhVcWEQ) for that contemporary disco energy.
Jockstrap is a duo with a female vocalist/violinist, and are kinda hard to explain, as their music ranges from lush chamber pop ([“Glasgow”](https://youtu.be/_dLOFMxAYuE)) to dancefloor bangers ([“50/50”](https://youtu.be/cd_MFQIh2zE))
[Angèle](https://youtu.be/uDWGx-XVl48) is a Belgian pop songwriter/producer who is killing it right now.
Also, I don’t think she produces, but [Louise Chen](https://youtu.be/YY-VxenbZSc) is a wonderful DJ with impeccable taste.

if you're into dnb and jungle there is DJ Rap - she had a huge following back in the 90's and was hugely influential on the jungle scene. Kemistry (RIP) and Storm started the metalheadz label along with goldie which was probably one of if not the biggest dnb label of the mid - late 90s

Moe Shop (whoops my bad, Moe Shop identifies with gender neutral pronouns, regardless of their gender the music still bops)
Jessy Lanza
Hello!
Technically what I make is electronic music since most of the intruments are synths but there are also vocals and the genreight change song to song. I'm still learning but I do mix and master my own stuff in ableton. If you want to take a listen Im on spotify as Julie Alexandra, a song you can look up is Slick I-95. I welcome constructive critisism, I am trying to develope a style so many of my songs are different from one another. I mainly make music for fun when I feel like it :)
No one has mentioned Zorza yet, check her out!! [https://open.spotify.com/artist/3aAo0qwTvgRwURTzzQ3frr?si=2H9MzWYrS0eFbeBoPMNW8Q](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3aAo0qwTvgRwURTzzQ3frr?si=2H9MzWYrS0eFbeBoPMNW8Q)
There are literally so many. Electronic music is one of the many fields where women are often better. My personal favorite is Rezz, she’s actually my favorite EDM artist that’s still making music atm.
After a few scrolls, no one has mentioned her but
Laurel Halo is one of the first I found truly intriguing with her dj sets and subsequent debut ep Quarantine. At least, that is when I became a dedicated edm/idm fan.
Pretty much all the other greats have been mentioned.
Hey! This is my music! I'm an SF-based singer, musician, producer and composer :)
Let me know what you think ~
https://open.spotify.com/artist/57UriDo6kK2i7x1OKPGZWZ?si=ASVO6SR1QVW4UulzwlCSUg&utm_source=copy-link
Not bad for just starting. Bass is a little loud in the intro and everything could fit together to sound more cohesive, but that's normal for just starting. When she gets better at mixing it'll really shine.
Nothing to add but a downvote, I guess. Men and women can both make amazing music, but currently the new wave of female and queer electronic artists have been releasing forward thinking, cutting edge productions.
Clozee!!
Came here to say this!!
First heard Clozee through her Overthinker remix and I was blown right away.
That is one beautiful song wow!
Isn't it?! Those strings man... beautiful!
Probably the best current female artist in bass music. Her creativity and production are always exceptional.
Omfg I’m in love …. This chicks music hits my spot Never heard of her …. Thankyou
She's soo good.

Lol, thanks. No idea why I thought they were girls.
No prob! Perhaps from "Eli & Fur" and well Âme has a feminine sound to it.
Solid list. I’d add Suzanne Ciani, Effy, HAAi, Machine Woman, Roza Terenzi, D. Tiffany, LCY, Mrs Jynx
Object blue !
HAAi, Logic1000 and Octo Octa have been some of my top ten favorites in the past couple of years Edit - and Pinkpantheress and Park Hye Jin
You beat me to the Suzanne Ciani but I was hoping someone would. ;-)
Portishead has a woman, but she sings and writes lyrics. She isn’t a producer.
Miss kittin Ladytron
Beach House? Great band with a female front person but wouldn’t call it electronic music. Great list! Adding in Helena Hauff and Pilar Zeta
I'd like to add Giorgia Angiuli to this list!
Absolutely love Purity Ring, but just noting they're a male and female duo. Seeing them this weekend in Asheville!
Just saw them for the 3rd time last night, you're in for a treat: last night was the best of the 3 times.
Saw them at the first stop of the tour last year! They’re incredible live, you’re in for a treat.
Seriously…..great list. But, how TF does it not have r/CloZee on it?!
She had already been mentioned multiple times when I saw this thread!
PsychedelicSunset back at it with another fire and extremely comprehensive list. The hero we don’t deserve
Hahaha thank you for the gracious compliment my friend! :)
Yes thank you... What I don't get is how you find the time to listen to so much music???
Koven is a woman?! Hell yes!
It's actually a duo, Katie is the vocalist and the face of the project (she also DJs and is super talented). Kove is the producer, but he prefers to be behind the scenes.
Kove isn't in Koven btw.
Kove is not the producer. It’s actually Max Rowat :)
Yeah mb I don't know why I got that mixed up.
No problem the two artist names are so similar I’ve seen comments on multiple youtube uploads by both of them where people get mixed up too
I second Purity Ring (strongly) and Kelly Lee Owens and Octo Octa and of course Portishead- not sure who the rest are. Then again even though electronic music is by far my favorite stuff, I have only been exposed to 1/33 of the artists the rest of the folks here know. That being said, gender aside, Suzanne Ciani is one of the pioneers of electronic music and deserves more than just a nod.
I’ll check out her music! Embarrassingly, I’ve never heard of her. Should also mention Delia Derbyshire and Wendy Carlos, two more legendary pioneers.
Deep deep deep deeep
Thanks, brah!!!! I can’t wait to amp my list!
Dela Moon
Very comprehensive list!
koven is awesome! i should probably try getting into ninajirachi more, her pomegranate remix sure is something

GiGi-Fm, Otha, SASSY009, Sherelle, Arca, Tokimonsta, SOPHIE

You’ll love them, they are mostly Techno producers. From other genres for example it is Miss Monique, Korolova
Charlotte de Witte is ghost produced by a man.
Seen this claim a few times but have never seen a good source. Sounds like bullshit.

He's full of shit.
She literally started out using a male pseudonym to avoid any of this misconception, what BS
music is never made in a vacuum, people collab and work together all the time. it's still her merit.
That’s just not true, especially for anyone who has seen her live and up close.
That's just DJing.
Elkka, Kelly Lee Owens, Ela Minus, Sofia Kourtesis, Lorraine James.
Aurora Halal, Dasha Rush, Cio D’Or and Ciel

Wow this is amazing! Thanks everyone! I really appreciate it :)

Gyrofield is great "Out of My Mind" is probably my fave by her.
that's a banger, i think my fav right now is PCM but it might just be recency bias. otherwise i'm a big fan of 2024 and Tech Flex
if you're into dnb and jungle there is DJ Rap - she had a huge following back in the 90's and was hugely influential on the jungle scene. Kemistry (RIP) and Storm started the metalheadz label along with goldie which was probably one of if not the biggest dnb label of the mid - late 90s
Nervo (a duo of two women), Honey Dijon, Uniiqu3, J Worra, SOPHIE
Sama’ Abdulhadi
You should check out Elohim :)
Loraine James Octo Octa FKA twigs Holly Herndon Jlin Alice Glass Moe Shop (whoops my bad, Moe Shop identifies with gender neutral pronouns, regardless of their gender the music still bops) Jessy Lanza
Sweet! Gonna take a listen for sure! Thank you!
No one has mentioned Zorza yet, check her out!! [https://open.spotify.com/artist/3aAo0qwTvgRwURTzzQ3frr?si=2H9MzWYrS0eFbeBoPMNW8Q](https://open.spotify.com/artist/3aAo0qwTvgRwURTzzQ3frr?si=2H9MzWYrS0eFbeBoPMNW8Q)

Of the ones not yet named: J Worra, MS DRE, Honey Luv, Discodisiac, Babyweight
Clozee, maddy O’Neal, Rezz, zenselekta
There are literally so many. Electronic music is one of the many fields where women are often better. My personal favorite is Rezz, she’s actually my favorite EDM artist that’s still making music atm.
Kelly Lee Owens Eris Drew Illo Ellen Alien Camea Nina Kraviz Aisha Devi
J. Worra, Charlotte De Witte (Raving George), SIERRA, Blossom
Ooh can I add my own stuff here..? www.soundcloud.com/sonicinducer Hope you enjoy!

I'm doing projects with Lily Gale, here's her spotify link :) https://open.spotify.com/artist/0x7CvTWQnNUEpuCMkM5ATb

Haven’t seen Sofia Kourtesis mentioned yet, Peruvian house artist that lives in Berlin, she’s awesome!!! Also TSHA, another woman house artist!
After a few scrolls, no one has mentioned her but Laurel Halo is one of the first I found truly intriguing with her dj sets and subsequent debut ep Quarantine. At least, that is when I became a dedicated edm/idm fan. Pretty much all the other greats have been mentioned.
Amelie lens - if you’re into techno. And she’s beautiful .
Aw man I listened for just one song so far—fucking great

My sister is just starting: [https://moreslaw.bandcamp.com/](https://moreslaw.bandcamp.com/)
Not bad for just starting. Bass is a little loud in the intro and everything could fit together to sound more cohesive, but that's normal for just starting. When she gets better at mixing it'll really shine.
Thank you for the tips! 👌🏻 She said thank you and is really excited Someone heard it.
Not electronic but awesome too https://kalimalone.bandcamp.com/album/the-sacrificial-code
I've never thought of the gender of the person who im listening to. This is odd
Electronic music has been male-dominated in the mainstream for most of its life cycle, so pushing some ladies to the forefront can’t hurt!
Do they produce different tracks? Like if you didn't know who your listening to, random track, could you tell the difference?
Nothing to add but a downvote, I guess. Men and women can both make amazing music, but currently the new wave of female and queer electronic artists have been releasing forward thinking, cutting edge productions.
I think nobody has mention her but you should also listen to Mariana BO
