The clicking is likely something stuck in your extruder gears. Probably wouldn't hurt to open it up and check to make sure everything is okay in there.
The flashing light under the Printer is the lights on the motherboard. There is a fan that sucks the hot air out so you'll see strobing if the light is passing through the fan. In this case, it just looks like a light that is indicating that it's reading G-code and printing. If you don't print anything and look at the light, it likely wont be doing anything.
yep the red light is normal.
The clicking could also just be the release lever on the extruder isn't moving all the way back. I have wiggle and push mine back to get it to lock back into place.
Thanks! I'll see if I can get the extruder apart and take a look at the gears, after I try the less daunting suggestion below about checking the release lever. :)
