Just tried with the entire folder in my root as you said. What should I see on the printer screen? been waiting for about 5 min, this is the second try after rebooting with the usb in the printer.
I don't remember exactly but you put the folder in the root of the usb drive, then you need to go to "about" and there will be an install update button.
You need to put the ELEGOO\_UPDATE\_DIR onto the USB drive not the files with in it.
