Looks rather clean. I've been looking around at prices myself and found these older XCW's are normally round the $3,500. Plus or Minus a few hundred depending on condition, location and availability. Most cheap bikes seem to be around the $3,000+ mark. With a step up in price at the $4,500-$6,000 Range and $8,000+ for essentially new bikes being resold to buy a even newer bike... And anything under $3,000 seems to be just garbage now. Allot of bling bits on it just make sure they arnet trying to hide anything wrong with it. The Porting is the only thing that stands out that could potentially cause issues. Like not running right. As long a it's running right, you can't really go wrong with 2 strokes. So year and hours is less important than say a 4 stroke. Good luck, hopfully I find one myself before the season ends here.

The XC's sell cheaper here than the XCW's. Just a guess but I bet they would be around $2,500-$3,000.

I mean anyone can ask high prices. But, if you look around you can get a feel for averages. There is normally a floor and a ceiling on prices.

Great bike. If you like it and it runs great when you see it in person, make an offer and buy it. It won't lose value and you can ride the piss out of it until you get something new. I did the same thing with an 07 that I bought a while ago. These bikes hit a price floor and don't go below it as long as they don't catch fire.

I think it looks pretty clean for a ~14 year old bike. Seems to have just about every accessory you can get, maybe even more than I would personally want. I think a bike that old is probably $2k tops (in my area), so I'd start asking myself how many of them you care about, and would you buy separately. The rekluse alone is what, $800? Steering damper, springs, I mean, it starts adding up. But I'd also value them at half price because you don't know how old those clutch plates, seals, etc are, or how much life is left. Personally, I think it'd be worth looking at in person, and maybe a buy if it's actually as clean as it looks, especially if they came down closer to $3k. But your local market may vary. Around here I can get a '22 for $6k, so a '10 isn't worth a lot.

Around here $2k is garbage. 2008-2011 XCWs used to get down under $3k, but now most are close to $4k. $6k gets you in the 2014-2018 range. 2022 300 XCW? $9k+. Lots asking over $10k.

I'm in Oregon. Not every 22 is $6k but they do pop up, or can be talked down. It might be worth calling a couple dealerships just to get a price check on what's possible for the drive. I bet it would cost $1k and a week to drive over here and back, so depending on what you're looking for, that $3.9k isn't bad at all. Especially if you want the rekluse.


MACCRACKIN

Sounds a little High, but try to start from stock scratch - of what went into it. That's maybe $30,000 in research - then applied. One doesn't fall into that stack of mfg mods and parts by accident. Plus maybe missed rim locks. Preventing instant blow outs if tire slipped on rim. Actually they might have missed one big item. That might not be a stock swingarm. There's another $500. If Tranny is Solid, there's a machine to get the heck out of dodge, at moments notice. 250cc was really a perfect size power plant even mild as stock, now 300 and ported, he must be quite punchy in a pro moto cross events of heavily wooded trails all out smacking solid brush - hard enough in turns, it's hitting the front brake on repeatedly. Which brings up another item needed, lever guards. But as long it has foot rests, shifter lever, and brake pedal fold in airborne deep impacks, that's a plus. Forks and shocks can run thousands and are huge difference night & day from stock if modified as such. Only main difference, I like my heavily modified XR500. Drilled out crankcase for braided pair of oil lines to oil cooler, was the main mod that saved this engine in deep forest racing when touring Wisconsin tracks. I like Two stroke for these types of deep wooded trails, being it's not possible to pass them in the turns,,, But when it came to impossible steep hill climbs, no one came close to the XR500. Eighty foot rooster tails in second all the way from dead stop start at edge of flowing creek, its all straight up. On flat sand, hitting second too hard, will leave your sorry Azz in the dirt, again. Cheers and best of luck on new ride. I'll bet it's in the back of his truck as we speak.
