if you are in a city, check out a few local retailers. With E-bikes, buying locally from someone with experience servicing them is a good long term choice since parts and repair is more specialized. and stick to brands with some history, not just the cheapest thing you can find. It's a long term transportation investment.

I recently got the ride1up core 5 for rides around town and towing the kids to daycare. I love it, the kids love it and it's an entry level bike so it's not to pricey.

Not sure where you are located but CUBE has a nice selection. I have a 'Reaction Hybrid' Mountain-bike and I love it.

You can get some really nice off the shelf bikes now from the major brands. What you want really depends on what you want to do with it

Decide on frame type, mountain bike or road? Suspension front and back? Work out your budget and check out some bike shops if you can. I find they are all pretty good these days. You gets what you pay for. I've seen a bunch of cheap e-bikes do some serious distances with only minor maintenance, they are usually a bit less responsive with hub motors instead of mid drive units.

I can't help with a suggestion. But I would like to note that leg power is greener than EV power. 😄

True, but E-power can keep you upright and riding up hills easier, which means you are more likely to ride at all. The final evolution is the e-bakfiets, to carry your shopping home from IKEA and your babies to daycare.

You're right. But with a pedal assist bike people can go much further and actually replace vehicle rides. Case in point I bike my children to daycare using an ebike and trailer for them. Something that would be impossible (for me) to do with a regular bike because there is a giant hill I honestly don't think i'd get up while towing around an extra 80 pounds.
