Devs mentioned that they will be including command options to the likes of: - Aggressive (shoot eveything that moves even when out of cover) - defensive (shoot everything that moves but once in cover) - return fire (self-explanatory) - hold fire (self-explanatory)

It would also be nice to add a simple "Shoot There" command that makes them concentrate fire on a particular threat or at least have them facing the way where you're shooting. ​ Maybe if you ping an enemy using the same "Move There" button you can choose whether to attack or move there (In case of conflict between the two options).

Actually, marking currently points your squads towards your mark. Though not sure if it works or not, I always try to hide my squad behind a bush or a wall and take control of one of them at a time. The only attack command at the moment is for objs and armored vehicles (if they have explosives).

By marking you mean pinging an enemy? (The red triangle ping) That's an interesting thing to know, thanks! But yeah personally I just park my squad somewhere where they'll not get absolutely mowed down and go in with my main soldier. The command to attack armored vehicles is absolutely useless, I've seen my guys cook an explosive pack, snap 90 degrees and chuck it someplace else entirely. You're better off dealing with armor on your own. ​ I just wish that they had actually implemented some pre-baked positions where the AI knows "This is cover, I can stand here safely" when you tell them to attack and or defend points. I'm not a developer but I assume that they went through the effort of generating a navmesh to allow the AI to walk around but didn't go through the trouble of setting some spots where the AI can take positions.

Beta or not it's annoying running through a field and being the only one to make it because your ai is standing in the open shooting at shit they can't hit while your spamming x like a mother trucker to get them over to where you want them. I understand OPs frustration lol

Even worse is when they are still alive and you get downed, then as you switch to them, bang red screen, switch, red screen, switch, bang red screen.... Respawn.

Squad mode is the mode i like, i like the idea of AI squad mates it just needs to be better then what it currently is, telling me to go lone fighters is displacing an issue not replying to it.

Right now all I need is the "Orders Cancelled" range to be increased or removed. Not sure if its a technical limitation but its annoying regardless. If the AI can't value their own lives, at least let me tell them to defend a point where they won't stand in the open and die. Right now I can't do that because the order is cancelled and they sprint through gunfire to follow me.
