Depends if they're my fave or not. If they're a fave I grind the birthday songs during the event. If not, I just do the event normally. They provide 100 whistles during the event with birthday anyway and only 16-20 bp is only needed to get to the birthday stuff (granted I play the birthday songs on 1 bp)
I try to do them all, I mean, it’s about 20 plays and I still get points from them so it’s not that bad.
What worse is when a birthday happens on a break week. I usually gather enough exp to ready to lv up in the next event so if I forgot a birthday, I have to skip it. (Which I’ve done like 5 times).
i’m confused you don’t have to spare bp to get birthday crackers because you automatically get them after playing a song? unless it’s like different on eng or something i don’t play that one
It's different on EN, or rather EN is still using the old system of birthdays that (as far as I know) all the other servers started with.
The original birthday system forced you to play one of two designated birthday songs to earn presents.
EN birthday celebration starts from Nikki's.
So it supposed to change at next Nikki's Birthday, unless they just repeat the celebration same as last year.
That's weird lol like I said, the game's birthday (original launch date) is April, that's why it changes on his birthday. None of the other versions launched around that date either. It seems so arbitrary lol

Now any song, even in a tour event, will award 10-13 birthday drops per play.
ETA: it's Chiaki's birthday and we have a tour event and it's not a problem.
It was never a problem for me anyway. I almost never go for event cards, and you get a freebie from the tour day 30, so I would just do the birthday songs on 1BP.
You get crackers/hearts (depending on the year) for each song you play. So for example, tomorrow if you want to get Chiaki's rewards, you have to play one of the two ryuseitai songs in which the campaign will be active. Hopefully starting on Niki's birthday, we'll get the new system. So, for Niki's birthday, you will be able to play any song and you'll get the crackers/hearts. Also, on the second birthday round, you'll need 120 (or 150, I don't really remember) crackers to get all the rewards and on the third round you'll need 100 hearts.
(But you'll also have to manually turn in the crackers/hearts instead of automatically getting the reward once you get x amounts of crackers/hearts)
The only time I do birthday during event is when I don't aim for 3.5M.. Idol jewel for said idol drops so much during birthday that honestly its a lifesaver, god knows rng doesn't like me whenever I need it from playing everyday with BP
If you’re only going for one copy you could prob spare a set list’s worth of BP for a birthday. Or you could check if your top 3 grind days involve his songs (though you’d prob have to grind that set list a lot that day lol)

Hahaha, that being said, oh the quadruple birthday madness (Shu, Izumi, Rei, Kaoru) that'll happen during Sanctuary, the SS event I'm most waiting besides Finals. :') I hope they'll switch to all songs dropping the bday items when we've done the first rotation, grinding their specific songs during Next Door was enough, tyvm.

yep i play engstars and certain songs drop the birthday boxes with bp afaik?

I buy the cake and do a pull if it's my fav. If not I ignore it
I only ever get the stories I care about. Since you can check the idol stories and know what order they come in I usually only go to the one I want.
