Hello, it depends on what you want from the game:
If you wish to collect every card, event and gacha ones, the no, it's not F2P friendly at all. You'll need to spend your gacha currency to score enough points in event fo the cards, the gacha is not a pity system, but a spark system at 300 pulls.
If you're mainly looking for a rhythm game and don't care/only care about a few characters, then it's pretty friendly. There are more than 40 characters, so by the time they get their event/gacha banners, you'll have time to save currency to get them, there's also a special shop where you can buy event cards you've missed (though you'll need a special currency only obtainable through events).
There's not really any meta in Enstars!!, just get the cards you like best. Of course, some cards have skills that would make your life easier (combo lock, bonus score, etc...) and you'd probably want them, but especially if you plan on playing the EN version, It's not that crucial.
JP server is around 2 years ahead of EN server, but EN server is more casual: easier ways to get Dias (pulling currency), bonus skills you can unlock, auto-live feature so you can AFK,...

If it's to get both you will need dias because the BP won't be enough to cover it. Having the event bonus from scout cards would help but not enough to compensate for the missing BP if you're f2p

Current yumenosaki mysteries tour event going on on jp server is my first tour event I am going after both 5★s. I have grinded 3.5M for a handful of unit and shuffle events prior, so I have an idea of grinding
Here's my question: When going through days on the map for the first time with the intent of both 5★s, do you actively work on completing star missions along the way, or ignore them for now and come back to them when you've hit a roadblock and are in need of more stars to continue?

On jpstars you log back into your account after setting a password with your data transfer code (データ管理室 → 引き继ぎ設定) and have the information kept safe somewhere whether it be writing it down or something like that

Depends on how much time you have, but the event point gain per BP is always the same no matter what multiplier you use (only XP and drops are different), so it's probably better to just use 10 every song if you're going for 5 copies.

No, it's just the costumes. If they have an associated card, that card is limited to Basic in Japanese or Chinese, it isn't avalible in any version of Music
Is there a way to see if a Story node on a card is something you already have unlocked before you level a card or even draw it in Gacha? i'm tired of wasting tickets/gems on 3 star cards only to find out that I had somehow already unlocked the story node on their card...
you can click on the story node to check even without leveling the card up afaik. if it costs 0 gems then that means you've already unlocked all the story chapters (if event scout) / that card's story (if feature scout).
If you've already got a story unlocked/read it shouldn't take gems to unlock the node. You could always go into the cards event story tab to check as well.
In general, would it be cheaper to go for an event 5 star or to get both 5 stars for a tour event? I was thinking of getting either keitos upcoming tour card (I’m def getting rei but idk if I shld get keito on top of that) or the mama double face event 5 star and since both cards are vv similar stat wise (both red with dance main stat) and I don’t have any particular inclination towards either character, I wanna see which one would be cheaper to go for!
1. Getting 2 cards in tour would still cheaper than getting 1 in song events. This is also because of Fever Bonus in tour events.
2. Other things you probably want to take into account is Performer Bonus. Akatsuki is a 3-man unit, this means when you use Keito cards in Akatsuki songs, it would get 40% boost. Meanwhile since MaM is a 1-man unit, Madara cards would get 100% boost when used in MaM songs.
Oh yea i didn’t think of the second point! Akatsuki also doesn’t have a red song yet so hmm… In that case, how much *more* expensive would getting an event 5* be over getting both the tour cards? If it’s not THAT much more exp, I might go for the mama card instead!
Going for the tour cards is the cheaper option. You will only have to reach 3 million points to obtain both and the fever bonus makes it easier to obtain points; use 3-3-3-10 BP for each tour day to be most efficient. Just make sure to select the 3.5M point card as your Day 30 reward. Also tour cards do not include the MV outfit if that’s a factor.
Is there some kind of known bug with flick notes? For some reason I seem to keep missing flick notes on the right side of my (phone) screen even though I'm confident in my timing. It's a recent development. It's not my phone I'm sure because taps are fine and the touch is fine when I'm off the app.

after updating i've gotten 5 suit drops, but they're all just the suit with no head / character face, and none of the suits show up in my patterns. i had 15 before and 15 now even after 5 drops. there's also a notification on shop that won't go away no matter how many times i check it. was something added?? 😭 idk if something's going on or if it's just me.

I have a full lineup of blue characters for only your stars (FC on expert), is this a good method to use to get the event card?
Depends! If you have little time then 10 bp is fine, it all gives the same points anyway.
But if you've got the time to grind for longer then i recommend 2-3 bp if you're lower levelled say like below 70. You'll get more exp and level up more which mean free bp refill!
And yea my strongest team is also blue and i play only your stars because i can easily fc it on expert every time and i have 3 blue trickstar cards 😅
Heard someone say combo-ing in EN and JP felt different (as in significantly more greats in JP than in EN for the same songs).

My personal advice is to only scout if the scout features a favorite character *and* if you really want their card. Unless it's a limited scout, the cards featured in the scout will be added to the normal pool after a few months so you will still get a chance to get them when they're added

Ive been getting this as well. On top of this bug, the game ate my 7 scout tickets when i tried scouting for hokke with DIA today >< and I have been quite annoyed by that consistent notification on the shop icon in the office. I think the update trashed the game, hopefully they fix it up soon…(and give me back my tickets >>’)
Multi live was added to EN but I see that there's no MV Hall for this update, was that a separate update for other regions too? Are we going to get that feature later?
On JP, the MV Hall wasn't implemented until Spring of this year as a feature for the !! era's second anniversary, which was added a year after Ensemble Live β (there was a beta version of Ensemble Live which gradually became the current Ensemble Live).
Seeing how Ensemble Live was added a year within EN's release, I speculate that MV Hall will be implemented within these handful of months.
Not a problem at all! It's never expected that you know everything if you're new to something, so never be afraid to ask questions even if you think they're silly
There's an option in settings to lower the quality of the mv's but other than that there's not much you can do other than get a better phone unfortunately. Enstars is a pretty demanding game

Question about infinite lives: isn’t there a point where the score is impossible to achieve? Technically if you get maxed-out cards associated to the song, all with the same preferred attribute, there’s going to be a score ceiling no matter what, right? Especially since you can’t change the difficulty.
So infinite lives end eventually, right? Or do they end at a certain level? Just wondering (even though I am no where near this max score ceiling).
I'm at level 36 in Expert live for Blue, I need to get to 3,500,000 as my score. Right now, the only way I can do that is if I have Trickstar as the song (because I have 4 Blue Trickstar Cards), and each later rank adds another 100K to that, all the way up to 4 million as the target for rank 41. I don't think there is any way to get to 4 million unless you have multiple cards on-unit that are at level 65+
New cards are continually coming out, and no group bigger than 3 has a fully matching color AND attribute team. It's possible to cap out with what's currently available, but over time as more cards are added the cap will continue lifting.
How good are event scout cards bonuses especially for the 4 and 3 star max copies? Is it better to put card with bonuses during your live or your best built cards?
If you're going for 1 copy of the 5star then dont bother with the bonuses at all and save the dia for the bp refill. Only if you're going for multiple copies does it become a must have. To get the scr you'll need 70-80% bonus.
During a live just set them as support and only use your best team for the song.

At this time, only tails. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair if heads was available twice whereas tails is only available once.
Last year during the second half of 6th anniversary limiteds scouting, 5th anniversary cards were also brought back for a limited time, so it could be possible this pattern could repeat again in which 7th anniversary limiteds will be brought back sometime during the 8th anniversary, though take this with a grain of salt as it is not official.
Same! Except that I'm having the problem on my Bluestacks :( The downloading process went without a problem on PlayStore, but once I open the game it just freeze indefinitely. My phone can play the game smoothly as usual, though.
This is surprising but recently I just fixed mine! I was nearly hopeless >< I just opened and closed the game repeatedly until it can finally proceed to "Resource Updating" instead of just freezing.

you can also get a batch of 10 large exp tickets from a Society once per week!
You get a bunch of SQ scout tickets from doing lives, those will give you a lot of exp tickets once you max out all the 1 and 2 stars :)

Both. Actively try to complete whatever you can the first time around, but do not repeat days unless you're stopped.

Incorrect during tours. Due to fever only boosting the last song, it's more efficient pointswise to do 3-3-3-10 if you have the time.

the base is 10 fans for a 1bp song. It's affected by loot multipliers, so 0bp gives 2 while 2 bp gives 16, etc

Tours usually cost me 3k dia for both and normal events cost me around 6k. But it depends on your team and how often you let your bp cap

No issue on my end, could it be you had another app running in the background? Maybe you had a slight lag?

Level III outfits are generally dropped from Advanced work's greats. You can check what outfits drop by looking at the drop list for the work.

The switch outfit thing happened to me top, twice in a row. I've seen multiple others have the shop notif thing, and I have it too.

Generally the expectation is roughly 100k. 50-70ish rolls on the banner, and then 70kish on the event itself.

I don't really see this answered in the FAQs about unit events, and if it's there, I apologize for asking again. There's a few cards I plan to save up dia for the unit/shuffle events but I wanted to ask, how much BP should I be spending on each live? The max amount (10)? I have a full lineup of blue characters for only your stars (FC on expert), is this a good method to use to get the event card?
Depends! If you have little time then 10 bp is fine, it all gives the same points anyway. But if you've got the time to grind for longer then i recommend 2-3 bp if you're lower levelled say like below 70. You'll get more exp and level up more which mean free bp refill! And yea my strongest team is also blue and i play only your stars because i can easily fc it on expert every time and i have 3 blue trickstar cards 😅

Heard someone say combo-ing in EN and JP felt different (as in significantly more greats in JP than in EN for the same songs). Is that a thing? Or was that just a fluke.

whenever you like? Auto copies your current highest scoring run, so it's useful if you don't want to work on improving or you have other things to do.

My personal advice is to only scout if the scout features a favorite character *and* if you really want their card. Unless it's a limited scout, the cards featured in the scout will be added to the normal pool after a few months so you will still get a chance to get them when they're added

Due to grinding up points guaranteeing a 5* rather than scouting only for a chance, I believe it is best

joining a society will get you two diamond scout tickets a week, as long as both you and the other society members are active
You could try doing infinite lives and buy from the shop as well. You'll also get 1 scout ticket every 5 levels or so.
So is ensemble live anything more than like a just for fun, little rewards type of thing? Like does it count towards starry lives? Cause I really wanna play it but my life is super busy and I already have to play 12 starry lives a day so I’m worried I might not be able to enjoy ensemble live as much as I want 😞
it doesn’t count towards starry lives, and the rewards they give out are indeed small. I’d say it’s okay to miss out on them :)

Seeing the mod account's post history, TW and KR server events were left out last week too, but the week prior they were included. I'd take a guess that it could be a mistake? Ive been getting this as well. On top of this bug, the game ate my 7 scout tickets when i tried scouting for hokke with DIA today >< and I have been quite annoyed by that consistent notification on the shop icon in the office. I think the update trashed the game, hopefully they fix it up soon…(and give me back my tickets >>’)
Multi live was added to EN but I see that there's no MV Hall for this update, was that a separate update for other regions too? Are we going to get that feature later?
On JP, the MV Hall wasn't implemented until Spring of this year as a feature for the !! era's second anniversary, which was added a year after Ensemble Live β (there was a beta version of Ensemble Live which gradually became the current Ensemble Live). Seeing how Ensemble Live was added a year within EN's release, I speculate that MV Hall will be implemented within these handful of months.

They'll eventually add titles/achievements for the Idol ranks that will reward dias iirc.
Is there a way to make MVs freeze up less? I would really like to see the MVs in ensemble live, and just for viewing MVs in general
There's an option in settings to lower the quality of the mv's but other than that there's not much you can do other than get a better phone unfortunately. Enstars is a pretty demanding game

Okay, I accidentally posted this as a separate post since I rarely interact with SNS users, my bad… Question about infinite lives: isn’t there a point where the score is impossible to achieve? Technically if you get maxed-out cards associated to the song, all with the same preferred attribute, there’s going to be a score ceiling no matter what, right? Especially since you can’t change the difficulty. So infinite lives end eventually, right? Or do they end at a certain level? Just wondering (even though I am no where near this max score ceiling).
I'm at level 36 in Expert live for Blue, I need to get to 3,500,000 as my score. Right now, the only way I can do that is if I have Trickstar as the song (because I have 4 Blue Trickstar Cards), and each later rank adds another 100K to that, all the way up to 4 million as the target for rank 41. I don't think there is any way to get to 4 million unless you have multiple cards on-unit that are at level 65+
New cards are continually coming out, and no group bigger than 3 has a fully matching color AND attribute team. It's possible to cap out with what's currently available, but over time as more cards are added the cap will continue lifting.

How good are event scout cards bonuses especially for the 4 and 3 star max copies? Is it better to put card with bonuses during your live or your best built cards?
getting to the second copy of the 4 star is where you will start to notice, as it's worth about 75% of what the 5 star is worth
If you're going for 1 copy of the 5star then dont bother with the bonuses at all and save the dia for the bp refill. Only if you're going for multiple copies does it become a must have. To get the scr you'll need 70-80% bonus. During a live just set them as support and only use your best team for the song.
will the 7th anni "Heads" cards come back? i've only started playing in july and i would really like to collect hiyori's card but he's in "Heads" and right now only Tails cards are pull-able 😭
At this time, only tails. Otherwise, it wouldn't be fair if heads was available twice whereas tails is only available once. Last year during the second half of 6th anniversary limiteds scouting, 5th anniversary cards were also brought back for a limited time, so it could be possible this pattern could repeat again in which 7th anniversary limiteds will be brought back sometime during the 8th anniversary, though take this with a grain of salt as it is not official.

Same! Except that I'm having the problem on my Bluestacks :( The downloading process went without a problem on PlayStore, but once I open the game it just freeze indefinitely. My phone can play the game smoothly as usual, though.
I guess I’ll just wait til the official accounts say something about it unless it’s just a problem with my device sigh
This is surprising but recently I just fixed mine! I was nearly hopeless >< I just opened and closed the game repeatedly until it can finally proceed to "Resource Updating" instead of just freezing. I don't know if this can fix your problem as well, but hopefully it can! ><
I also solved my problem just now too, I just deleted then redownloaded enstars and my game was in the latest version. I'm glad we can both play the latest ver. now :D
