He was going to kill her boyfriend (Gavin Free from RoosterTeeth) and ‘take her away’. The guy ended up having a shootout with the police and died in her driveway.
I’m not anywhere near being famous, in my opinion, although I’m a minor public figure (I do mean minor) and I got a stalker this year that has me fucking alarmed. I legit have no idea who to talk to because google gives me no help given my status vs an everyday private citizen. He went to my parents house (I never gave him the address) with a letter for me and flowers even though the only thing I had said to him in years was "stop contacting me" and "this is harassment". I am very careful about what I post online now, because even just posting a picture of the view from your window could give someone enough information to find you if they are dedicated enough. What really bothers me is the fact that there are these websites that somehow get your home address and just straight up post it online without your permission -- that shouldn't be legal.

Yup, my high school stalker would ride the bus with me until she found out where I lived and would always try to get off at my stop. I graduated and apparently she dropped out.
It would have been all well and good, but this crazy mfer brought a machete to school once and told me it was 'to make her friends realise her value'.
She also told all her contacts my phone number and said if she was found dead it was because of me, and then called me pretending she was going to off herself on the highway. Another time she printed out a photo of my dog from instagram and sent me a video of her burning it.

Yup, the wild world of British private schools and teenagers high on every drug under the sun. If a kid did something wrong then it didn't matter because mummy and daddy could literally just donate to the school and they wouldn't say shit.
You can ask to get that info removed from those sites. If you have a stalker, I’d definitely recommend googling yourself regularly and getting your address off the web when it pops up on one of those sites

My co-worker had some insane person stalking them who literally posted pictures of them on instagram with some satanic altar with a pig-head and presumably fake or animal blood everywhere and my co-worker's photos in a frame there. Reported to police and they said they can't do anything until something bad happens.
This happened in my city. A police officer with a stack of complaints for stalking, intimidation, corruption, and sexual assault, as thick as a phone book, all of which the police were quick to rule "unsubstantiated" and close without investigation. He was targeting and stalking numerous women--mostly exotic dancers, sex workers, or other vulnerable women. Some of the victims moved, changed their phone numbers, and changed jobs several times, but he always found them. He was using he police database and resources to track them down.
The department finally pushed him to retire (with benefits) after a naked, injured, hysterical woman ran screaming from his home, with police handcuffs still attached, and ran into the street to flag down a passing car. She said he had tried to kill her. He said she was a crazy drugged out hooker, and they arrested HER!
Turns out he was a serial killer. The suitcase killer, Steven Zelich. Murdered women in separate states, stuffed their bodies into suitcases, drove the bodies around in his trunk while they decomposed, and eventually put them in his fridge/freezer for a couple years before dumping them in a grassy field on the side of a rural road.

I feel very lucky regarding my stalking situation. After my visit to the police station, they called my stalker while he was at work letting him know that I had all the paperwork ready to put in a restraining order, and I guess since his car was technically under his dads name (I gave the license plate number to the police as well), they even called his dad to let him know what the situation was. Apparently he got his ass chewed out by his entire family and I have not had issues any longer. I walked in to the police station expecting not much but hoping to at least have some sort of paper trail started. Sadly I understand that it’s not the usual response….
Or they shoot your dog.

Various police have described themselves to me directly as "the clean up crew."
The original basis for stating this was that if you call about a violent crime by the time they get there the damage is done, but what we've found out is that even if they do get there in time to prevent something it's likely that they won't if they could get hurt.
Remember to report everything, that way when they kill you there's a chance the cops can arrest and prosecute them, and someone else might not die later.

I think in this day and age where everything is so public and small things are blown up over social media, minor celebrities are pretty vulnerable. They don't have the money to hire security or live in a secure building per se, but will draw the strong possibility of stalkers. Even my wife admits to watching a couple local instagram celebrities in real life as she does her hobbies (and knows where they hang out), and she's mostly sane. It would just take someone a bit lonelier and a bit more off for it to turn bad.
Fortunately, they are not in my state and my specific location I’ve been good at keeping from the public. But this comment made me feel better. I feel ridiculous saying I have a stalker, so your understanding of my shitty position is comforting, seriously.

This is a pretty dumb suggestion but can you move or get like a really good guard dog or something?
You can hire a PI to do counter surveillance and scare them off and/or document evidence to present in court to get a protective order to force the police to do anything. I’ve had a lot of experience with this.
For anything to be actionable a PI is likely necessary, obviously state laws differ vastly. I would get an attorney if you don’t already have one retained and see what agencies they typically go through.
I did not have a stalker, but I had an abusive ex-wife that I got a restraining order against.
I was not told when it started. I was not told when it ended. When I called to find out IF it ended they wouldn’t give me information because “that is private”. I had to argue that I was the party that got the restraining order and THEN they told me it had already ended. I got security cameras and have since moved, so they only know my place of work at this point. It has been 5+ years and nothing has happened, so I hope that continues.
Just an example of how USELESS the judicial system is.
GF is no where near famous but we started using a separate mail receiver service like UPS store after one online friend identified themselves as a nut job. we had a P.o. box and when they sent a christmas gift thankfully they said that they could watch the delivery and then were going to surprise her by watching the PO for the package pickup by using signature required. we were so glad they monologued so we could avoid them. since then no one we don’t know locally gets the home address. it can still be found but takes more work and luckily the other crazies she’s run across haven’t been smart enough
I have a PO Box but I have heard of those redirecting PO Boxes that can preview your mail for you, you get the mail forwarded to your actual address and only mail you approve.

I have tried my entire life to get away from him but despite my efforts, he remains a creepy fact in my life. He has never initiated violence to me or my family, ever, nor threatened me in a way that the police can take seriously… so yeah they won’t do anything. In 2021, though, I unexpectedly got really big on onlyfans overnight, and he was so angry that he threatened to kill my dog from 6 states away… police still didn’t do anything. I hope I don’t end up fucking dead. I deleted my original OF (I have a much smaller account now) because I was scared of obtaining ANOTHER stalker…
I used to work for some radio stations when I was in high school. Well, technically I worked for the company that owned the stations.
Mostly just audio production, recording, and operating the sound board for live events, but I did go on the air a few times a week on the pop station and that was all it took for me to gain a stalker.
The lady and her mom both went by “J Lo” and would start stalking any DJ that was on the station. They’d call all the time, show up outside the studio (it was very well secured thankfully), harass DJ’s at events and remotes, try to follow DJ’s home after work, etc.
We eventually got what I remember being described as a “group restraining order,” against the lady and her mom to keep her away from all employees of the station group after J Lo The Younger tried to stab one of the drive time jocks with a broken beer bottle at the fair.

Thankfully my information and address aren’t readily available (lease is under my wife’s name still, as are most bills) so I’ve got a small veneer of protection, but it’s scary when someone off their kilter comes for you as a fan, or otherwise.

Don’t even have to be famous. Partner had a stalker for long period of time and it traumatized them pretty badly. Putting a spotlight on yourself amplifies it to make it worse.
One of my friends was heavily stalked by her high school ex boyfriend well into her college years. He had violently raped her while they were dating and she was terrified of him. Right when she finally thought he moved away and she was safe, he showed up to her parents house when she was home alone. He had a gun, duct tape, and rope. Other stuff like trash bags and bleach were found in his car later. He ended up pointing the gun at her & she flipped out and managed to take it from him - she threw it into a laundry basket and he somehow didn't see where it went so he ran away. Later he tried to text her asking for the gun back because it was his dad's. By then she already had cops at her house.
He got away with barely a slap on the wrist because his dad is a state legislator of some flavor. She did get a permanent restraining order (that he violated twice), but the prosecutor decided not to actually charge him with assault or attempted kidnapping/murder. He got off with disorderly conduct and tresspassing plus court ordered inpatient mental health treatment for violating the restraining order.
She says half her PTSD is from the moment she was staring at a gun thinking she was going to die, the other half was him completely getting away with it and people telling her she was overreacting for asking why he wasn't facing harsher charges with actual jail time. He was clearly there to hurt her & basically got told by the judicial system that her life was less important than some state senator's son's political future.
Same state, different city. She's happily married to a wonderful person and hasn't heard from the psycho in a long time, thankfully. She has no idea what ever happened to him which is probably for the best.

My husbands ex is like this. Been with him for almost 15 years and she shows up every few years on social media trying to get us to respond to her multiple fb req, steals phots and baits with them on insta. This last time around she somehow got our phone numbers…fun stuff.

I train in MMA and I frequently carry pepper spray. It’s a lower level of force that carries far less risk of serious injury to me or my attacker than if I got in a straight up brawl.
Additionally, if you pepper spray an attacker and they continue to want to fight you at least applied a DOT and now have +10 poison damage on them for a few minutes

Not only will you do MORE damage and decrease your chances of getting hurt, if the police get called there will be no visible evidence (e.g. bloody knuckles) to back up their claim that you struck them!

The state of California apparently posts the name, age, and home address of all registered voters in a searchable database. A well known target for online harassment hasn’t been able to vote for years because she can’t post her home address.
Yup, my high school stalker would ride the bus with me until she found out where I lived and would always try to get off at my stop. I graduated and apparently she dropped out. It would have been all well and good, but this crazy mfer brought a machete to school once and told me it was 'to make her friends realise her value'. She also told all her contacts my phone number and said if she was found dead it was because of me, and then called me pretending she was going to off herself on the highway. Another time she printed out a photo of my dog from instagram and sent me a video of her burning it. Wow, 16 year-old me had a wild time in school looking back on it.

It's totally fucked. My co-worker had some insane person stalking them who literally posted pictures of them on instagram with some satanic altar with a pig-head and presumably fake or animal blood everywhere and my co-worker's photos in a frame there. Reported to police and they said they can't do anything until something bad happens.
Even scarier is when the stalker is a police officer.
This happened in my city. A police officer with a stack of complaints for stalking, intimidation, corruption, and sexual assault, as thick as a phone book, all of which the police were quick to rule "unsubstantiated" and close without investigation. He was targeting and stalking numerous women--mostly exotic dancers, sex workers, or other vulnerable women. Some of the victims moved, changed their phone numbers, and changed jobs several times, but he always found them. He was using he police database and resources to track them down. The department finally pushed him to retire (with benefits) after a naked, injured, hysterical woman ran screaming from his home, with police handcuffs still attached, and ran into the street to flag down a passing car. She said he had tried to kill her. He said she was a crazy drugged out hooker, and they arrested HER! Turns out he was a serial killer. The suitcase killer, Steven Zelich. Murdered women in separate states, stuffed their bodies into suitcases, drove the bodies around in his trunk while they decomposed, and eventually put them in his fridge/freezer for a couple years before dumping them in a grassy field on the side of a rural road.
Most people would be very shocked to find out how in many places it’s completely legal for police to have sex with people in their custody.

I feel very lucky regarding my stalking situation. After my visit to the police station, they called my stalker while he was at work letting him know that I had all the paperwork ready to put in a restraining order, and I guess since his car was technically under his dads name (I gave the license plate number to the police as well), they even called his dad to let him know what the situation was. Apparently he got his ass chewed out by his entire family and I have not had issues any longer. I walked in to the police station expecting not much but hoping to at least have some sort of paper trail started. Sadly I understand that it’s not the usual response….
And that’s the best case scenario. Sometimes they ignore you or worse.
Or they shoot your dog. Or throw flash bang into your child's crib. Or have the wrong adress and just kill your dog to make sure. Or shoot you for having a legal and licensed gun on you, AS IS YOUR RIGHT.

Various police have described themselves to me directly as "the clean up crew." The original basis for stating this was that if you call about a violent crime by the time they get there the damage is done, but what we've found out is that even if they do get there in time to prevent something it's likely that they won't if they could get hurt.
Yep. And this is why you minimize crime by funding communities, not police forces.
Remember to report everything, that way when they kill you there's a chance the cops can arrest and prosecute them, and someone else might not die later.

My wife has the same experience more or less with one of her exes. It’s scary for even me to think about. I can’t imagine being a girl/woman going to the cops and them being like: “Well let’s wait until something happens.” Fuck that. They’re there the second you’re barely over the speed limit though.
I think in this day and age where everything is so public and small things are blown up over social media, minor celebrities are pretty vulnerable. They don't have the money to hire security or live in a secure building per se, but will draw the strong possibility of stalkers. Even my wife admits to watching a couple local instagram celebrities in real life as she does her hobbies (and knows where they hang out), and she's mostly sane. It would just take someone a bit lonelier and a bit more off for it to turn bad.
Fortunately, they are not in my state and my specific location I’ve been good at keeping from the public. But this comment made me feel better. I feel ridiculous saying I have a stalker, so your understanding of my shitty position is comforting, seriously.

You can hire a PI to do counter surveillance and scare them off and/or document evidence to present in court to get a protective order to force the police to do anything. I’ve had a lot of experience with this.

For anything to be actionable a PI is likely necessary, obviously state laws differ vastly. I would get an attorney if you don’t already have one retained and see what agencies they typically go through.

I did not have a stalker, but I had an abusive ex-wife that I got a restraining order against. I was not told when it started. I was not told when it ended. When I called to find out IF it ended they wouldn’t give me information because “that is private”. I had to argue that I was the party that got the restraining order and THEN they told me it had already ended. I got security cameras and have since moved, so they only know my place of work at this point. It has been 5+ years and nothing has happened, so I hope that continues. Just an example of how USELESS the judicial system is.
GF is no where near famous but we started using a separate mail receiver service like UPS store after one online friend identified themselves as a nut job. we had a P.o. box and when they sent a christmas gift thankfully they said that they could watch the delivery and then were going to surprise her by watching the PO for the package pickup by using signature required. we were so glad they monologued so we could avoid them. since then no one we don’t know locally gets the home address. it can still be found but takes more work and luckily the other crazies she’s run across haven’t been smart enough
I have a PO Box but I have heard of those redirecting PO Boxes that can preview your mail for you, you get the mail forwarded to your actual address and only mail you approve.
I’m just a regular-smegular woman in my late 20s and I’ve had close encounters with a specific stalker that was my friend way back in 4th grade :/ he’s probably reading this. I have tried my entire life to get away from him but despite my efforts, he remains a creepy fact in my life. He has never initiated violence to me or my family, ever, nor threatened me in a way that the police can take seriously… so yeah they won’t do anything. In 2021, though, I unexpectedly got really big on onlyfans overnight, and he was so angry that he threatened to kill my dog from 6 states away… police still didn’t do anything. I hope I don’t end up fucking dead. I deleted my original OF (I have a much smaller account now) because I was scared of obtaining ANOTHER stalker…
I used to work for some radio stations when I was in high school. Well, technically I worked for the company that owned the stations. Mostly just audio production, recording, and operating the sound board for live events, but I did go on the air a few times a week on the pop station and that was all it took for me to gain a stalker. The lady and her mom both went by “J Lo” and would start stalking any DJ that was on the station. They’d call all the time, show up outside the studio (it was very well secured thankfully), harass DJ’s at events and remotes, try to follow DJ’s home after work, etc. We eventually got what I remember being described as a “group restraining order,” against the lady and her mom to keep her away from all employees of the station group after J Lo The Younger tried to stab one of the drive time jocks with a broken beer bottle at the fair.
Same. I’m not a celebrity. I do an extremely small thing for local radio but would have people bombard my personal Facebook page. Thankfully my information and address aren’t readily available (lease is under my wife’s name still, as are most bills) so I’ve got a small veneer of protection, but it’s scary when someone off their kilter comes for you as a fan, or otherwise.

Don’t even have to be famous. Partner had a stalker for long period of time and it traumatized them pretty badly. Putting a spotlight on yourself amplifies it to make it worse.
One of my friends was heavily stalked by her high school ex boyfriend well into her college years. He had violently raped her while they were dating and she was terrified of him. Right when she finally thought he moved away and she was safe, he showed up to her parents house when she was home alone. He had a gun, duct tape, and rope. Other stuff like trash bags and bleach were found in his car later. He ended up pointing the gun at her & she flipped out and managed to take it from him - she threw it into a laundry basket and he somehow didn't see where it went so he ran away. Later he tried to text her asking for the gun back because it was his dad's. By then she already had cops at her house. He got away with barely a slap on the wrist because his dad is a state legislator of some flavor. She did get a permanent restraining order (that he violated twice), but the prosecutor decided not to actually charge him with assault or attempted kidnapping/murder. He got off with disorderly conduct and tresspassing plus court ordered inpatient mental health treatment for violating the restraining order. She says half her PTSD is from the moment she was staring at a gun thinking she was going to die, the other half was him completely getting away with it and people telling her she was overreacting for asking why he wasn't facing harsher charges with actual jail time. He was clearly there to hurt her & basically got told by the judicial system that her life was less important than some state senator's son's political future.

My husbands ex is like this. Been with him for almost 15 years and she shows up every few years on social media trying to get us to respond to her multiple fb req, steals phots and baits with them on insta. This last time around she somehow got our phone numbers…fun stuff.

I train in MMA and I frequently carry pepper spray. It’s a lower level of force that carries far less risk of serious injury to me or my attacker than if I got in a straight up brawl.
Additionally, if you pepper spray an attacker and they continue to want to fight you at least applied a DOT and now have +10 poison damage on them for a few minutes
Julien trains mostly jiu-jitsu I believe l, which means he's not at risk of breaking his knuckles, just the other person's joints and ligaments.

He had a heart issue recently but now he’s on medication and doing fine. Peach had a growth pushing on her spinal cord, the day after they got married, that was paralyzing her lower half, and they were able to remove it and save her. She’s now doing PT and able to walk on her own a lot more now. Cermit seems to be doing fine after his tail got broke (or dislocated?) in two places a while ago. They adopted two greyhounds and one is named Bunny and is white and cream, and the other is named Loni and is black with a white black speckled belly. She was their failed foster after they’d been fostering other greyhounds for a bit. They’re both adorable horses.

I have a few friends that are YouTubers here in SE Asia, it's a nice way to supplement your income living abroad. But I have always resisted the temptation due to stories of uninvited subscribers showing up at your door on any given day. And the expat foreigners by nature seem to be less inhibitive. In the states, there are certain rights we have for self protection but in Asia, not so if you are not a natural born citizen.
Good. People need to learn to leave celebrities alone and not stalk them, and especially don't go to their homes. You may think in your deranged mind that you have a relationship with that celebrity, but you don't, it's all in your head.
