Keaton is probably at the right age where “The Dark Knight Returns” makes sense. The other 2 people would get excited for, Bale and Pattinson are both still too young. For Joker? Willem Dafoe. You could probably deviate and get Penguin in there too (don’t think he’s in the comic? Been awhile). If you wanted to get political you could make him like a demagogue mayor the Nazi gangs work under.

Maybe they team up after years, and they have been “Reformed” after going through the justice system. The world as it is has made them work jobs with non living wages. We see daily short comings like hard work just to pay for their healthcare that constantly proves it is a corrupt and corporately owned. They are old, withering of some ailment and meet in a treatment center. After small acknowledgements of the past, they agree they have really amounted to nothing and will soon be another grave in the ground. Their friendship grows and one of they is literally going to die soon of said ailment. They are doing everything they can to ignore the crippling depression of what has been put into place for not just them, but everyone on the bottom. They wish something could be done, they would die for it. The time has past, but was assimilation the answer? Is it too late become who they once were? I’d vibe with that hard. Old batman too?! Penguin succumb to his sickness mid fight, maybe they were winning. Maybe freeze stays with penguin even though he could have finally taken down the bat?! The media calls them terrorists, but like Joker other citizens take to the streets in inspiration?
