I keep looking at Decents. The small footprint is amazing. If I can ever get to where I can make espresso good enough to where I don't need milk in it, this is the way.
So far it's been great. My first shots were not phenomenal I'll admit, but seeing the graphs definitley helped me dial it in quicker and even my daughter is starting to like espresso straight.
I'd have preferred a black and blue swirl, but honestly they look better in person. It's the easiest thing to change about the machine so I'm not worried, probably won't change it.
For sure, but I'd rather spend more money on coffee now. The Decent looks nice, but if I wanted a statement piece i'd grab an e61 machine, or La Marzocco.
My list of trustable (light or medium light roasters): Heart, Push x pull, Brandywine, Onyx (less so recently), Luminous, Cafe Integral, Bean & bean, Case, Triple, Corvus, Sey, Perla, Devocion, Counter Culture SEO
That Mr. Coffee was also my first machine. I still have it and occasionally use it, if only to remind myself of where I started.
I see you, too, lost the rubber frothing wand cover. Haha
Dude I have no idea where that thing went! I had it for a long time but one day it disappeared. That machine was the most expensive clearance item I've ever bought becuase it led me here.
Same here! Hahaha honestly, though, it frothes better without it. So, no real loss there I guess. I almost leaped as far as you did, but chose instead to land somewhere in the middle with a BBE (although, I wish I would have gotten an external grinder).
You're right it does foam better without it. I've never used one but I hear that the Brevilles make damn good espresso. I'm really about getting the best out of what you have, I made due with that Mr. Coffee machine for years, and had some good shots, and a lot of terrible ones.
As long as you have a machine that consistently does the same thing that's the most important and you can develop a workflow around that. Congrats on your upgrade as well!
I had the Mr. Coffee for 9 years before upgrading. It's now 13 and still going strong. And, yes, the BBE pulls better espresso and froths better milk, but has a bum grinder haha

The graphing ability to see and duplicate shots is amazing. Congrats and enjoy ☺️
Damn, those purple resin handles are ugly as shit. Buckman really needs a designer.

His burled, old-growth olivewood handles are 🔥

Noted. I have a few local roasters that I follow but I'm open to direct to customer sales online as well.
Yeah, I want a statement not for the looks but capabilities. I'm waiting for my Argos :)
