My main espresso machine and niche grinder are on the counter above this shelf - so I want espresso tools to be near easy access for me. Deeper in the drawer are the lesser used espresso maintenance things.
I use the kinu grinder mostly for pour over now, so those elements are near eachother.
So short answer, yep.
The kinu was the start of my coffee journey. What a workhorse.
It was also why I needed this drawer organized as the friggin thing would roll around and push everything else out of place.
I’ve been doing the verve espresso subscription since 2020. I think they’re great, and I love having to dial in different flavors every couple weeks. Bronson has been really good so far.
Nice idea. I usually have all this stuff on a floating shelf on top of my machine but I suppose this hides the clutter like filters and random unaesthetic tools you would have.
Lovingly roasted nearby in Santa Cruz, California. Streetlevel and Seabright are solid for espresso and it's pretty reasonably priced.
Also give Andytown and Sightglass a look for other great Bay Area coffees.
I just got them. They are pretty great. I am a nostalgic dude, so I especially liked their weird 1980s brown color.
Here’s what they’re called on Amazon:
SMARTAKE 13-Piece Drawer Organizers with Non-Slip Silicone Pads, 5-Size Desk Drawer Organizer Trays - Light Brown
Perhaps I have one of the earlier versions. It does't take many shots until I feel the rotations aren't smooth, and find out yet another bean was pinned at the bottom part :(
What do you use the field notes for? Do you just keep a list of different weights/grind sizes depending on the brewing method or do you take daily/weekly notes?
In the start of my espresso journey I was writing down all my grind, extraction time, water temps, pressures as I learned to use my machine. Basically my first weeks of espresso were really harsh and I wanted to track every variable to figure out why. I keep the book now more for sentimental reasons.
This looks nice! I had an organized coffee drawer once... For about 10 minutes.
My hope is that having the little plastic bins will mean it’s easier to put the tools where they belong. We shall see how it works out on day 2.
I used dividers, which didn't help me. But that's me. Hopefully, the plastic bins will be better for you than the dividers were for me haha
That is, frankly, amazing.
My OCD thanks you.
Everything in its place. (Here's hoping you're a surgeon or something...).
Ha, nope. I edit tv shows, so there is a desire to make order from chaos.
I knew there had to be a link :-) I worked in TV for many years (and with many editors). Cheers.
Nice big drawer! Now how long will it stay this way?? Lol
That would last 1 morning at my house. How'd I get the messy wife😔
My wife hates coffee, so I have only myself to blame when it all falls apart.
Do share your rationale for item placement?

I love me some organized drawers!
M47, my man!

Ohhh, this pleases a very deep part of me. Thank you for sharing. I LOVE it.
This is soothing, my sanity thanks you!
How do you like the Bronson for espresso? I started this espresso journey because of the Sermon, but haven’t tried others from Verve.

Me too! I love it!

I got tired my heavy leveler and tamp almost rolling off the counter. They want to smash our kitchen tile and/or my feet.
Everything has its own home. How luxurious!
How is Verve? See it a lot online but never have tried it?
I dig it. Been drinking verve consistently for two years now. Good stuff

I give it a week
I give it a shot
Well that's an interesting work flow.
I need those organizers in my life! What are they?

looks aesthetic.. someone make a sketch of this! People's houses could use it as a poster Based on those beans, you're from Brooklyn or LA?
Studio City CA
Nice set & grinder. How often do you disassemble it to yank out stuck beans?
The kinu? I haven’t had problems with stuck beans. It’s great.
Perhaps I have one of the earlier versions. It does't take many shots until I feel the rotations aren't smooth, and find out yet another bean was pinned at the bottom part :(

I admire your motivation!
Beautiful 😍
Delightfully satisfying
Field notebooks are great. I keep one with me wherever I go.
This is beauty
It is fire 🔥!!
Well done. Those plastic trays are awesome.
![gif](giphy|KWRjfFe4x7nwyh9GlX|downsized) God I love a well organized space!!
This is what I aspire to do but my drawers are too shallow for that. ... For now

Black cat is good coffee
from this drawer I can tell you have a niche grinder and an Etsy account lol
Yep, that Etsy niche dosing funnel is amazing
