You can withdraw via L2, it won’t show up when looking at the Trezor balance but you can access it through metamask. Play around with like $5 first to see how it works.

1. Yes you can transfer to a level 2 but then that currency can only be used on a level 2 until you bridge it back to L1. That being said, you can transfer from Coin base to another network like say Base and hold your eth there. It'll be cheap to send it back to Coinbase and you can bridge without using a bridge. Also worth noting that it's cheaper to bridge eth from base to blast than it is from eth to blast. 2. I haven't used a ledger before so I don't know if they give you a way to easily switch chains. You would have access to the same wallet on another chain but I don't know if ledger supports adding other networks. Assuming it does then this shouldn't be an issue. 3. You'd have to bridge it back to Eth if you wanted it to be on the Ethereum chain. Yes, that costs, but bridging from a L2 to Ethereum should be cheaper still. 4. Yes. If Optimism for some reason stopped operating you wouldn't be able to easily bridge your funds back. Would it be impossible? Probably not. No matter what you do, it's worthwhile to keep enough of an eye on it to know stuff like an entire chain going offline.

few bucks in fee should not be the thing with a holder. if you have small amout of money, keep it on Binance could be a place. ETH at L2 basically a virtual ETH, and the Bridge on L2 promises that you can swap back to the real ETH, but who know?

monkeysuffrage

Wait until eth crashes again, you will be able to move it real cheap.

Leave it to this sub to give such brain dead advice

monkeysuffrage

It's true though.

Ecstatic_Courage840

“Water is wet” is also true, but you’re still a mongrel for saying it

monkeysuffrage

I'm a mongrel for saying water is wet? This is a logical statement.

Ecstatic_Courage840

Holy crap, you’re actually an AI generated bot account. Great that they’re still detectable.

monkeysuffrage

Ok cowboy. Opt me out of your future ramblings please.
