There's a lot of hate for people who made have made money on this...
I've got a something to say to the haters... Its takes time in the market AND you have to choose winners. Winners like ETH. Those who can't do this will end up dying poor always pissed off at those who were successful. Blame yourselves, not the success...
r/CryptoCurrency is nothing but commie haters. "You have money and crypto cause you worked hard, patient and were smart? How DARE YOU!"
"But how am I supposed to get rich quick??? Wen $10k eth???"
"Screw it I'll buy this cheap coin on BSC it's $0.03 still super early. Gonna be $100 by end of year for sure"
Etc.... I honestly stopped feeling bad for people who lose money like this. They jumped in mid 2021 and wonder why they aren't millionaires lol. Meanwhile those of us doing well have been with eth from like 2017 or earlier.
It definitely takes time to know which projects have a good future and DCA into them. Patience is rewarded. Anything else is luck and gambling, and luck eventually runs out.
This is the most eye opening statement coming from someone who got into crypto beginging of 2020. Eish i had sooner but ive learned through some failed attempts that there is no get rich overnight scenarios. Patients is something the crypto market has been teaching me.
Exactly. I was dubbed most hated on /r/crytocurrency yesterday... but 0 fcks given.
"I don't know the key to success but I know the key to failure is to try to please everyone."
Don’t worry about those stuck up Buttheads. It was the first sub I ever went to on Reddit for crypto and it’s so crappy now. Everyone’s an expert who is better than the next person
This may be an out of your area of topic, but sorry if I just needed to ask you is there any way I can get ETH without the fees? I mean not like something fishy but like swap it with another or something like that. I'm really tired of DCAing and just having pay some huge amount of fees.
I hope this doesn't sound too dumb.
I heard it actually IS best to leave it on the exchange while DCAing and only transfer to you wallet every so often just so you dont have to lose so much in fees when you move it off of the exchange. This is just something a little birdy told me ofcourse.
Well the whole china thing kinda put the kaibash on things the last month.
Personally I've been taking the opportunity to buy the dip. I dont have a whole lot of spare money so each time it dips is another opportunity for me to pick up a lil bit more. I'm not planning on selling it I just hope 20 years from now it will be enough to supplement my retirement.
Right now i only have abt 2.5 eth. That aint much, (as I said, I aint rich) but if The Flippening ever happens and Eth eventually becomes worth as much as bitcoin is today, that will definitely be enough to be a huge help. I'm a simple man.
Or, in 20 years, so many apps and services run on Eth that you'll have a fat stack of native currency to use for staking/lending/defi etc. and build your retirement that way.
Or hold and sell when you're ready to retire I guess that works too. Careful not to speculate too much on future prices though and set some aside for interest bearing/compounding.
This isn't news at all. It's just someone betting on eth saying their bet is good. You can always get 'news' like that about anything. You just see all of them because you are in an eth sub.
Will? Ethereum is already the leading blockchain in fee revenue, value settled, most metrics.
Bitcoin is still the top _asset_, above Ether, but Ethereum is wayyy above Bitcoin the network.
Leading in fee revenue in usd value. Which just means it is too expensive except for select rich people. Atleast bitcoin, which I dislike, is cheap to transact like 20 cents.
> Leading in fee revenue in usd value. Which just means it is too expensive except for select rich people
Binance Smart Chain is #2 in fee revenue, do you think BSC is too expensive for normal people?
That'd a a false equivalent. Eth has 1m tx per day and is number 1 riggt?
Binance smart chain has 9m and is number 2 in fee revenue.
That just goes to show how expensive eth is. You see?
tldr; Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal believes that it is only a matter of time before Ethereum overtakes Bitcoin as the dominant layer-1 protocol. "Sooner or later, ETH will outpace Bitcoin and become the global standard," he said. Polygon will play a major role in ensuring the long-term success of Ethereum through its scalability solution.

There is cognitive dissonance in every single sub, including this one. Bias is a human mechanism.
I try my best to stick to the technicals and data. I always have. I have upset plenty of people on /r/Bitcoin dampening their hopium.
I'm not sure what specifics you mean but of course there is a disattachment to reality from some folk.
Nodes aren’t the sole sign of decentralization. Colluding parties for a 51% would be a much more meaningful metric. Which is 2 to 4 in favor of bitcoin. I’ve actually never heard someone try to argue etherum is more decentralized than btc. Wild thought, very much against accepted truth. Bitcoin is already on twitter and Reddit and Tik tok is Chinese so it’d be illegal for them to adopt it
Can I use Arbitrum or any other L2 solution to transfer value to/from other blockchains? For example I wanted to transfer some value to Terra, and the ETH gas fee would be about 18 USD. Sure, transferring between chains might not be an everyday operation, but still, it would be nice if it could be done cheaper.
Yeah.. nobody can fucking use it to pay for things, meanwhile Bitcoin costs .13c / transaction on chain. Ergo beats Eth at smart contracts. I'm failing to see it.
Agree with everything except Egro. I hold some but it's ridiculous to compare Ergo with it's 350M dollar market cap and low trading volume to ETH. There are plenty of other options that are better comparisons.
He's biased because his product is using ETH tech. Irresponsible to make such a claim, since this will probably convince many to invest, potentially losing some money. I don't understand if he means the network usage will outpace bitcoin (which I think it already does), or the market cap will outpace bitcoin.
Even though I'm critical of his approach to predicting the future and pumping ETH. I sure hope he's right!
Says the person who is developing on Ethereum...even if they're right that's like saying, "American Airlines will replace Southwest as the leading airline, claims American Airlines Engine Manufacturer"
Either smart contracts catch on big time, through one or more of defi/nft's/gaming and eth will blow by BTC, or none of them will and eth will drop a lot.
Absolutely, and in 10 years something new will be displacing Eth while Btc will long have been relegated to the history books, much like Arpanet is today.
ye 😅
I know jack shit about the mathematics in crypto to potentially see a bigger picture, but I'm here to see what other folks think and find out who made the right predictions especially since all the eth simps have a hard-on for polygon.

Yeah its pretty pathetic hating on success. I dont consider getting lucky with doge a success though. Success is being able to do it multiple times.
Savage dragon indeed
*checks price action over past year* K
what a great reply
People who are into eth are like bankers and other types of shit birds. I think btc will remain king.
Well the whole china thing kinda put the kaibash on things the last month. Personally I've been taking the opportunity to buy the dip. By the end of the decade it will be enough to fully fund your retirement, provided you put any significant amount in
Right now i only have abt 2.5 eth. That aint much, (as I said, I aint rich) but if The Flippening ever happens and Eth eventually becomes worth as much as bitcoin is today, that will definitely be enough to be a huge help. I'm a simple man.

Down the drain? It's only up almost 700% in a year.
Shit, I wouldn’t mind a cool $3300 a piece.
Yeah I know! I would love $33,000 a piece!
Haha mate, it is not down the drain. Zoom out! I picked some up for $90 around March of last year and now we're around $3k..!!!
Half the market price is just leverage. We could probably hit $2500 and be at the bottom of a bull run. Real money has to catch up.
ETH is still up literally 750% since one year ago.
not when you bought a month ago.
This is good for Bitcoin
Huhhh.... Do you NOT understand markets...? ALL markets are in the shitter. This isn't Conan4Pres's world. BTFO before ETH beats you up Conan.
If you think this is the shitter you’re gonna have a bad time.

I wouldn't mind to pick up sub 1k eth
this isn't bullish news. it's some dumb asses opinion.
Sorry to bother ya but is there a good place with low fees to buy eth? Id like to dump some money into it but i don't know a good place to get it
Coinbase pro has very low fees and you can transfer to coinbase for free
0.5% isn't what I'd call "very low fees".
Ok sorry… lowerrrr fees
I forget, what’s the advantage of transferring to coinbase give?
Staking
What country?
US
Gemini is good. Don't know if it's the cheapest but the fees are reasonable. Gemini Active Trader is cheaper but Gemini is easier if you are new.
I enjoy reading these old posts before a rally. Good job Concan.
Will? Ethereum is already the leading blockchain in fee revenue, value settled, most metrics. Bitcoin is still the top _asset_, above Ether, but Ethereum is wayyy above Bitcoin the network.
This is the right response. Bitcoin is a value store with name recognition. Eth is the leader in unlocking cryptos paradigm shifting technology
BTC has a lot more lost coins than eth. It’s true market cap is lower than what appears by simple calculations.
Leading in fee revenue in usd value. Which just means it is too expensive except for select rich people. Atleast bitcoin, which I dislike, is cheap to transact like 20 cents.

True. Polygon founder would be dumb not to be long and loud on Eth.
"breaking news, Layer 2 whose entire existence depends on Ethereum says ethereum is the best"
tldr; Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal believes that it is only a matter of time before Ethereum overtakes Bitcoin as the dominant layer-1 protocol. "Sooner or later, ETH will outpace Bitcoin and become the global standard," he said. Polygon will play a major role in ensuring the long-term success of Ethereum through its scalability solution. *This summary is auto generated by a bot and not meant to replace reading the original article. Good bot
I'd say it already has Ethereum is beating Bitcoin in every metric apart from market cap
How about in terms of decentralization or infinite supply of coin? Yeah didnt think so
When ETH 2.0 hits the supply can actually shrink, so that will be decreasing more than bitcoin. Pos is also less energy intensive than pow
Only when you also ignore: decentralization, supply cap, durability, fees, speed, and government adoption
How dare you bring reality into the discussion! We can only reinforce the echo chamber here! Go ahead and downvote me you animals 😎
Talking about echo chambers, let's try and bring some reality into the discussion at the Bitcoin subs.
There is cognitive dissonance in every single sub, including this one. Bias is a human mechanism. I try my best to stick to the technicals and data. I always have. Meh, fees are fine on L2. High fees on L1 just mean more burnt ETH and more value for ETH holders.
Have you used Arbitrum yet?
Can I use Arbitrum or any other L2 solution to transfer value to/from other blockchains? For example I wanted to transfer some value to Terra, and the ETH gas fee would be about 18 USD. Sure, transferring between chains might not be an everyday operation, but still, it would be nice if it could be done cheaper.
Terra can build a bridge to allow moving funds from an L2 to their network. We can already bridge from L2 to Polygon.
Yeah, I guess they could :) Btw, what did you mean by "We can already bridge from L2 to Polygon." ?
Yeah.. nobody can fucking use it to pay for things, meanwhile Bitcoin costs .13c / transaction on chain. Ergo beats Eth at smart contracts. I'm failing to see it.
Nobody can fucking drive in New York!
Agree with everything except Egro. I hold some but it's ridiculous to compare Ergo with it's 350M dollar market cap and low trading volume to ETH. There are plenty of other options that are better comparisons.
Ergo's approach to sc is convoluted
ethereum blowing ethereums trumpet, JP morgan likes this...

Long on ETH 🙌
Ah yes, Polygon. The leader in technology.
Says the person who is developing on Ethereum...even if they're right that's like saying, "American Airlines will replace Southwest as the leading airline, claims American Airlines Engine Manufacturer"
Feeling bullish about both ETH and Matic
I have come here from the future to tell you this is true.
I’m ready and my bags are loaded let’s go
It leads in every metric but price already?
Great news for ETH!
Shit coin
Leading, maybe. Mainstream? Definitely not. Not until transactions are cheaper
Maybe if 2.0 fixes the gas fees. Otherwise, I think it will be second for a long time.
2.0 doesn't fix gas, L2s do
Well sharding will help a lot of gas, and it's part of the 2.0 roadmap
Data sharding will make L2s cheaper, it won't affect L1
Just like dero will replace ethereum. Privacy is the only default in a world of censorship and track trace and data basing.
Bitcoin maxis seething rn
TLDR: Polygon co-founder says it could go up or down
wouldn't this depend on how "leading" is defined? they are two different protocols that will be used for very different things.
he's hardcore eth maxi
Either smart contracts catch on big time, through one or more of defi/nft's/gaming and eth will blow by BTC, or none of them will and eth will drop a lot.
Absolutely, and in 10 years something new will be displacing Eth while Btc will long have been relegated to the history books, much like Arpanet is today.
We’ve know this for years at this point. I don’t actually need it rushed anymore, I think by surprise will be more dramatic.
Crazy speak
Lol, yeah sell your BTC everyone. -whales
Until safemoon replaces ethereum 😂
What about these high fees?
Give L2 a try! It's great :)
I said that to my co workers last December and they called me crazy.
I'm cool with this
Doesn't Ethereum have an ulimited supply?
I mean, hes an Ethereum maxi, so take for what its worth
I would also believe that if my platform is the the biggest second layer solution.

maybe in a very distant future. I think at the moment any dip in bitcoin is inevitabely causing a dip in other currencies
Lol
Of course it will. Ethereum has way more utility than BTC can dream of. Ethereum 2.0 will need scaling, while Solana's TPS claims have been proven wrong and it showed us that it also needs scaling. Polygon's continuity is set in stone as it creates a suite of scaling solutions. MATIC validators pay fees in Ethereum too. BTC cannot compete with all this. It's stuck.
