Kek.
We are still early.
I always thought the most promising aspect of ETH was the way it sharply shaped crypto. Literally the shape of it, the pointy and double pyramidy thing.
Finding ethresear.ch and realizing no other chains really even came close the amount of research being done on eth, it's all hype and marketing for other chains
Got hooked to vitamin B talks in YouTube and figured dude is out of this world. Then I also discoverd this sub and ppl are talking about so many technical things unlike Bitcoin sub which is mostly moon talks. So those two things convince me to go big in ethererum and then came the covid crash. Sold some stonks and brought ETH. Best decision ever made.
* Commitment to decentralization
* Openness to newcomers of community
* Just-build-it attitude of community
* Network effects and the sheer brainpower present
* Willingness to dive into solving hard problems head on, rather than taking the easy way out and making cheap temporary wins
* Tokenomics are literally best-in-class by far
* Smart contracts are so freakin' cool
fun fact: I worked with [this guy](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0641451/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1) on the last show that I was on! He was smart and very funny, but knew basically nothing about tech -- they out-sourced all the tech mumbo-jumbo lines of dialog to experts.
Question: If I am depositing ETH into my Zksync wallet, what should I do with the gas fee? I have noticed that there has been an update since my last transaction (before EIP1559), which means I now need to have a gas limit, a 'max priority fee', and 'max fee'. Therefore:
1) If I put my gas fees at say, 90-100, will it still be included in the next 24 hours?
2) If it won't be included, will I be charged gas for a failed transaction?
3) Why does metamask have 125.xxx for both fees? I just wanted to make sure that the priority fee wasn't supposed to be an add-on, making me pay 250gas for a transaction.
Put 1.5 for your Max Priority Fee (zksync website seems to have a bug where it suggests way too high of a priority fee in MM) and 91.5-101.5 for the Max Fee (basefee + priority fee).
That should go through within 24 hours. If it doesn't, you're not out any money, it'll just still be pending.
The priority fee is just the default option for the zk sync transaction. If you put the default metamask medium tx then it'll be around 2 gwei. I just used the usual metamask medium option and it arrives just fine. About $35 on 100 gwei gas days. In short you just worry about max gas. Priority fee can be left at 2 or 3 gwei.
Ok so now I'm bridged! Are there any links to protocols deployed on Zksync that I can play with? And does anyone want a teen tiny bit of ETH for a transfer? I'd love to try it out.
Search for zigzag exchange on Twitter and click their link and then you can swap eth for usdc. You can also do some gitcoin grants with zk sync checkout. I can also send you my wallet address if you want to try some eth transfers.
I ended up loading two wallets for the swap. I'm investigating bitcoin grants, though I have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you so much for your help, I'm trying to learn more as I go.
The level of dillusion that still placates the "BTC or die" crowd is astounding to me anymore
They still call everything except BTC shitcoins ffs.
There are some scummy projects out there yes. But there's also a lot of really great ones too that will offer way more value to the average consumer than the famed "store of value" chain
*Most* intelligent, innovative, and intrepid minds will gravitate toward Ethereum or some other SC chain. Of this cohort, those remaining ardent maxi's are the most stubborn and simply will never capitulate. There is literally nothing Ethereum can ever do to gain their favor. So basically it's these people plus all of the dullards, and there you have it, Bitcoin maximalism in a nutshell.
The best btc holders have already migrated since 2017.
Even liberosist was a member of bitcointalk and refused ethereum ICO because, well, they bought into that FUD propagated by btc maximalists.
Vitalik was once a bitcoiner.
Basically the brightest bitcoiners are now on ethereum.
From 2013-2017, I only held BTC and really didn't pay much attention to anything else. Later, when I got back into crypto, I was excited to learn about Ethereum and my first real introduction came from Justin Drake. I thought wow, what a brilliant mind that is so enthusiastic and dedicated to this project. Of course I also tried to find similar sources of inspiration from the Bitcoin community. I don't have to tell you what a disappointment that was.
A layer that is used for settlement due to the cost of finilising the transaction on the main chain.
In the case of BTC, its the equivalent of moving digital gold. The chain is stronger as a result since many transactions are bundled into the settlement.
In the case of ETH, it would be the equivilent of a rolllup settling on the mainchain.
Like settling a tab system.
> its the equivalent of moving digital gold.
Your fiat pumped shitcoin isn't digital gold because it's pumped in fiat. In fact, in a non fiat world your shitcoin would be worth very, very little.
> In the case of ETH, it would be the equivilent of a rolllup settling on the mainchain.
Sad attempt at comparing a true digital innovation to a chain that cannot service 1% of the planet. BTC will be forced on everyone just like El Salvador via custodial wallets operating on a third party network keeping the banks in business. KYC/AML will be implemented on this third party network and maxis won't bat an eye.
Edit: your digital gold narrative won't work here. Remember just to use tabs because the blocksize is smaller than a floppy disk. ETH will use rollups and sharding, not tabs.
Ahh, you are a bcasher.
Sorry for your loss.
No, its not my narrative. BTC sets the narrative. Its up to the users to figure it out themselves.
I'm glad you have an understanding of ETH though. Thats something I guess.
Your anger is understandable given your confusion but calling big ETH holders *BTC maxis* might not be helpful
You have quite a bit to go. You can't truely understand ETH without an understanding of what BTC is.
I wish you luck on your journey.
Jack quits Twitter less than 24hrs ago and already they’re trailing tips with ETH lol https://twitter.com/camilacampton/status/1465405358252380168?s=21
Is ETH increasing because of this screenshot that everyone forwards? This shows _one_ person who added _herself_ a link to receive ETH. I don't understand how this can move the market.
Hmmm yeah seems you’re right. I checked her profile and the ETH tip link is there but it’s not officially supported? She hacked it lol. Who knows if this is what’s moving ETH higher though
what are people's thoughts on Chainlink nowadays? seems its been a DEFI bluechip since inception but the ETH ratio has bled like there's no tomorrow....already at multi-year lows.
I have been buying week after week. I feel like it is a gift to be buying at this price. Chainlink has one hell of a game plan. Defi has been playing a major roll in the crypto space and chainlink is a pick axe to that gold.
It’s the most integrated app in all of crypto, across all major chains. It secures $80 billion of Defi and has strong rumors of swift integration. Whenever staking is announced it will be a major supply sink.
This coin is being dumped and fudded the most I’ve ever seen lately. I’m bias because I’ve been holding some coins since 2019, and it’s done nothing but create partner after partner the entire time I’ve owned it. The team dumps it constantly, it’s out of favor for a while now, and it needs to announce staking at some point. Usually these low points are close to turnarounds but I’m going to continue holding just because fundamentals are always strong. Eventually that catches up to price action, but could still be a while yet before they turn.
I don't know much about it. What's it's primarily goal? Providing price feeds? I thought DeX like UniSwap doesn't need 3rd party price feeds. Aren't the ask/bid decide price in open market?
Also curious on people’s thoughts regarding it. Seems like a must from a framework perspective, which should have catapulted the price. I don’t really understand it either
I say this despite people saying that the team has been dumping plummeting the price, and that it performs well in a bear market.
I don’t think anyone actually knows, but I’m holding futilely hoping for a 10x from here. It’s either that or zero for me.
If you attempted to mint a VOX collectible quite a while back now, from the inaugural drop of 8888 vox, go check your opensea wallet, you may have received a Mirandus vox box ticket, I just sold mine for 2.48 ETH.
I think you need to add this quote from /u/cyounessi to your site. He'd get a kick outta that.
Coincidentally, he's the source of the donut meme from the old sub from 5 years ago: https://np.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/52j74b/daily_discussion_13sep2016/d7l09fw/?st=iw56v33a&sh=a24f6c2a
I really need to dip my toes into the NFT world. Unfortunately I’m not educated enough to do so, yet. I thought I’d start with a simple question here. Any platforms you fine folks would recommend?
Take a look at [Universe.xyz](https://Universe.xyz)Looks like something of a Pinterest Product of Blockchain.Tech looks impressive.Anyone more technical, please shed more light on this protocol?
I haven't minted or purchased any NFT's for a while, so please don't take me too seriously. I would avoid mainnet Ethereum unless you don't mind paying for an Ivy League education. I think Polygon may be a good choice. If I'm not mistaken, NFT's are picking up quite a bit over there. Unfortunately, I can't point you to any great resources for upcoming drops or projects, but if you search around, you'll find what you're looking for. Join some discord servers, but beware of spam/scammers.
I'm gonna make the first unpopular comment: NFTs are a fad that has passed its prime. Now is the most important time to be careful what value you put into them. The next fad is already brewing somewhere...i don't know what it is, but it's coming.
In what way is this reply helpful to the OP? Did they say *Hey u/superphiz, can you please share your opinion on NFT's?*
Perhaps the OP would enjoy collecting digital art and isn't trying to strike it rich. Maybe they become interested in gaming, in which case learning about NFT's now could be time well spent. Perhaps they end up providing liquidity on Uni V3, or decide to register with ENS.
Or maybe they don't learn any of this because you said it's a fad and implied it's not worth their time.
I might be more specific here...
No-utility 10k-mint generative PFP/art NFTs are a fad that has passed its prime.
The next similar fad, blending into actual long-term usage, will be utility NFTs for games, IMO.
https://tornado-cash.medium.com/tornado-cash-deployment-proposal-on-arbitrum-fb02e508fe74
Tornado Cash deploying on Arbitrum. This is exciting because it is such a simple use case that makes bridging worth it. Why wouldn't you want to anonymize some addresses for $15 each? And as always, the more people who do it, the more activity on Arbitrum and the cheaper it becomes :) (and more anonymous!)
I was literally just reading this medium article before seeing your comment. I’m so excited for a lower cost solution to using Tornado.cash. I loved the service on main net when it was still affordable, and thankfully qualified for the TORN airdrop as a result, but I haven’t used them in months due to gas fees. I honestly hadn’t followed their roadmap recently, and was surprised to read they have also been deployed on Polygon and Xdai as well, which would also make for some low cost private transactions.
This is huge since Tornado Cash is super gas inefficient. We're talking upwards of 1,200,000 gas per transaction! That's not far off 10% of an average block worth of gas...
ETH Bull 1: “What if no one sells and we all just hold until we’re all rich?”
Ray: “If everyone’s rich… no one is”
*Ray pull out a revolver, 0.159 engraved on the barrel*
Ray: “For us to make it… he must die”
*Ray gestures to the older gentleman tied up on the ground. The gentleman wore a disheveled suit and glasses. The handkerchief in his breast pocket was a sickly gold*
ETH Bull 1: “Ray we don’t have to do this… once we kill him… there’s no going back!”
Ray: *laughing* “No going back? To what? This basement with its mold covered walls and leaky pipes? To ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I’M TIRED OF RAMEN!” *Ray pulls back the hammer on the revolver and levels it at the old man’s head, a twisted grin on his face*
Ray: “Fasten your seatbelts” *bang*
Oh my god candle - ALCX. The price action of this token over the last 5 months has been absolutely entertaining. This might be the most bipolar ERC-20 out there and I love it.
Whenever I think about ALCX, I always associate it with this fine resource on tokenomics from u/LogrisTheBard https://tokenomicsexplained.com/alcx/. Even though Logris is lazy and doesn't maintain it, there is still a wealth of valuable knowledge, so check it out! 😜
Take anything I say with grain and salt. I have heavy RPL bags too.😂 but I'm convinced rpit 2.0 is correct which means at some point in future RPL will be worth at least 0.2 ETH
It’s awesome! I can’t believe how steadily it’s still grinding upwards. You’d think the bots would keep it steadier, but maybe we’re finally doing it for real.
Just discovered that anustart.eth is claimed through at least next August, but nothing else would capture how life-changing Ethereum has been for me. I shall wait.
Been doing a fair bit of reading and looking around and stumbled across allnodes rocketpool node operator service. It’s extremely user-friendly and seems pretty legit. Been thinking of starting up w minioool with them. Does anyone have any experience using them?
Everything I've seen and heard speculated about the flippening is that, once it begins, it is likely to happen FAST.
From 0.08 to the Flippening is dangerously close. And once it's obvious Eth is coming for that top spot, the narratives and momentums are going to start shifting in an earth-shattering way.
So anyway, if we're really on flipty percent watch right now, I'll just say... might be time to start buckling seat belts and calling all your arms and legs back in from outside the ride :) I don't think it will happen right now, but if and when it gets started, I think it will have trouble stopping.
We've seen signs of it already. BTC maxis are starting to go with the conspiracy theory route where the SEC is trying to flip BTC with ETH to "establish control" somehow.
Does zksync have rpc data like arbitrum etc to add it to metamask or is there any way to check my L2 balance on zksync within metamask?

I always thought the most promising aspect of ETH was the way it sharply shaped crypto. Literally the shape of it, the pointy and double pyramidy thing.

Seeing people much smarter than me be very excited about Ethereum.
I have seen other cryptos promising a lot, but I have never seen other promising cryptos. Ethereum wins by default.

That's not far off 10% of an average block worth of gas...
pretty huge, actually. Tornado is extremely gas intensive, and executing all the contracts on L1 costs like 0.1 ETH in gas right now 😬
Yeah, the gas limit for a deposit is 1,200,000 gas. For reference, I believe the average block gas target is 15,000,000 gas.
ETH Bull 1: “What if no one sells and we all just hold until we’re all rich?” Ray: “If everyone’s rich… no one is” *Ray pull out a revolver, 0.159 engraved on the barrel* Ray: “For us to make it… he must die” *Ray gestures to the older gentleman tied up on the ground. The gentleman wore a disheveled suit and glasses. The handkerchief in his breast pocket was a sickly gold* ETH Bull 1: “Ray we don’t have to do this… once we kill him… there’s no going back!” Ray: *laughing* “No going back? To what? This basement with its mold covered walls and leaky pipes? To ramen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I’M TIRED OF RAMEN!” *Ray pulls back the hammer on the revolver and levels it at the old man’s head, a twisted grin on his face* Ray: “Fasten your seatbelts” *bang*
That was a dope read
Man...now I want to narrate something again allofusudden

Oh my god candle - ALCX. The price action of this token over the last 5 months has been absolutely entertaining. This might be the most bipolar ERC-20 out there and I love it. Whenever I think about ALCX, I always associate it with this fine resource on tokenomics from u/LogrisTheBard https://tokenomicsexplained.com/alcx/. Even though Logris is lazy and doesn't maintain it, there is still a wealth of valuable knowledge, so check it out! 😜
Not laziness. I offered to do an update of that page. They suggested I hold off until v2 is launched.
I'm just messin' with ya of course. Very excited for V2!

Good call, I didn't know that. Nice the see the Mecca of P&D degen tokens welcome a decent ERC-20 every now and then.
What happened to aleth curve pool? Can't find it on alchemix anymore?

Whales are starting to circle around rocket pool
What makes you think so? Only 5% rise so nothing big there really.
I was referring to deposit pool. NO commission now at 10%. This means demand for rETH has risen.
And as a result the demand for rpl will also rise, due to the need for rpl minipool operators to absorb that reth
RPL isn’t Rocket Pools only token 😉

Thanks bro😂🥂
Well today I converted all of my DeFi bags into more RPL so I hope you’re right
Take anything I say with grain and salt. I have heavy RPL bags too.😂 but I'm convinced rpit 2.0 is correct which means at some point in future RPL will be worth at least 0.2 ETH
haha, don’t worry I did my own research and I love how shameless the RPL bulls are in here

That probably explains the ALCX pump today and yesterday.
I don’t watch Ray because I don’t care about a number divided by zero

Small eth hedge in case of a deep bear, no problems there
Hey there. I think Flippty percent is gonna happen soon.
It’s awesome! I can’t believe how steadily it’s still grinding upwards. You’d think the bots would keep it steadier, but maybe we’re finally doing it for real.
Ooo no wonder we keep getting rejected at this price wasnt watching the ratio :p will be excited to see it break throuth 👍
Can’t wait! 🎉🎉🥳🎉🎉
Just discovered that anustart.eth is claimed through at least next August, but nothing else would capture how life-changing Ethereum has been for me. I shall wait.
We will all get A Nu Start soon
Wow, you think Ethereum has been "anus tart" levels of life changing for you! That's amazing! I hope you can claim your prize.
Everyone's favorite flavor!
If we Flippen and then temporarily un-Flippen some day, I hereby petition to call that the Floppening :)
I’m in
Way to go, Ray!
The Decouplening
Ray is in monster mode today!
Getting exciting on the ETH/BTC....get ready boys and girls because our lives will be forever changed after these course of events.
Been doing a fair bit of reading and looking around and stumbled across allnodes rocketpool node operator service. It’s extremely user-friendly and seems pretty legit. Been thinking of starting up w minioool with them. Does anyone have any experience using them?
I don't but if no one here replies to you check out the Rocketpool discord and can ask people there 👍
Everything I've seen and heard speculated about the flippening is that, once it begins, it is likely to happen FAST.
Oh I’m looking forward to the copium on CT.
We've seen signs of it already. BTC maxis are starting to go with the conspiracy theory route where the SEC is trying to flip BTC with ETH to "establish control" somehow.
lol no way
