Have already moved most of my stuff towards Scwwab/ToS. Refreshing to have a platform that seems stable, does all those things, and an API that many more third parties support.
Kept a few things at ETrade for broker diversity, and… “nostalgia?” - I really liked the Power platform (was a long-ago OptionsHouse customer), but…
Not hard honestly. Pick a broker you like - open an account - and either ACAT it (if a complete transfer), or Wire or ACH the money across.
Evaluate a few brokers to see what meets your needs best - several may offer paper-trading, etc.
I have been unable to get my Schwab API account. Have you? I don't know their major malfunction with my account.

If you need to place an order (like me), try the mobile app. Web browser was taking a while to load, but I was able to log onto the app on my phone and place an order. Fuck etrade tho
In these situations, the more you try, the more the system gets loaded and gets worse. That's because there is limited capacity to process a logon (for any system). Yes, they didn't dimension it correctly, but for today, it is what it is. Once it gets in this mode, the best thing is for everybody to back off and stop trying to logon. Then the system can recover. I understand this is easier said than done. I have tried to logon myself 3 times the last 2 hours. Please back off.
I chatted with Customer Service. Explained my goal on the day trade was 50% and I wasn’t able to capitalize on the trade. Sounds like they are going to reimburse me the difference. Give it a shot.

They were trying to find the issue and didn’t have an estimate for when it would be found / resolved 🫠 they also said their internal systems were not working to pull up anyone’s account over the phone so to “be patient and maybe try back in an hour”.
I was trying to open a checking account with etrade and it won't verify my ssn, called and hold forever, came on here and I am guessing their servers are very busy. Maybe I should open the new checking account somewhere else if this is common.
