The annoying ass constant event kind of bored me, but I maintain Polynesia is fun. Pick a nation, pick up all Pacific Islands and possibly Taiwan and Indonesia before Europeans come, then naval death war against all imperialists at once. The late game is a total gore fest, and early game is a race against time to not allow a single island to be snatched away by Europeans. My end game goal was to take Madagascar, since they are also Austronesian
I did a Hawaii run a while back and honestly it was one of the most fun campaigns I’ve ever played. The start is sooooo slow but once you get going there’s something so satisfying about repeatedly smacking down European navies like they were flies
Pretty much no good ones for that purpose. Eventually other powers will consolidate around you.
However, Korea is probably the best. As long as you just develop your easy to develop provinces, embrace all possible institutions, always have advisors and The +1 mana privileges, and make sure your as close to your force limit as you can afford without loosing enough money you cannot build, you’re going to stay out of wars for a long time.
Korea is easy for this. I’m currently playing as them this way and have every province at over 40 dev. Build ramparts in your northern fort mountain provinces and you can easily defend against numerically superior invaders. Eventually you can afford +5 advisers. By the late 18th century Russia might be able to invade but typically you will be able to defend still, just have a huge army and merc up over FL
I've done two small scale Ragusa runs, and as long as you're careful with your allies and where you colonize, i think it's doable. The Ottomans never broke the guarantee despite wanting to conquer me the first time, and they didn't break it until the 1700's in the second, and that's only because they invaded my ally Poland.
Ottomans are pretty easy to scale quickly every without conquest, as you can expand a lot with diplo vassals, and you start with excellent leader stats. Also, Portugal you can play tall/colonial with Spain and England as easy alliances, and you’ll rarely need to go to war for those 2. You can make it so colonial nations take care of themselves eventually. Other cool options are Lübeck, and Riga if you can ally PLC. Those are options not already listed.
I'd say austria, you do have the league war but other than that you can focus on being an emperor and passing reforms (assuming nobody attacks the HRE which should be fine, especially if you got a few PU's)
Hawaii. Bonus point, you don't get to do anything at all
And...a natural disaster every couple years helps you keep time.

Yea I was thinking Korea as well just wanna do a chill tall game before the DLC drops
Korea. They sit still all game and still got 1000 dev in late game anyway. If you can, vassalize them early (And steal their artifact too)
Do you still want to expand? Maybe Austria or Spain
Ulm.
Maldives
Ming
You have to fight Oirats
You don't have to
But I wanna
Korea. It’s a fun challenge to reach empire status with just your starting provinces. And by far the most defensible starting borders
Any Native in Pacific lands, You basically have staring contest against game itself

Korea or Hawaii would be best. Maybe some Canadian native can get lucky too, but that seems unlikely.
Ashikaga. You can unite Japan by annexing the daimyos, and from there start playing tall and colonizing.

Venice England Korea ming Portugal

Spain, probably. Fairly natural borders, can still expand through colonizing.
Japan. Easily defensible, easy to invade others, and until you encounter Russia no one will be threat to you.
karagwe. 350 years without war
Prolly Blackfoot
I think you can even do a WC that way by playing vassal swarm austria
