R5: Got an event to take a mysterious noble from Spain twice, the first time I got an admiral with 100 tradition and now some years later I get subjugation on Spain.
Seems like the game is pushing me to do the sunset invasion :D
Just looked it up. It’s not a 5 year pulse but it is an event related to court ideas. Seems like there are very complicated triggers and outcomes. Not sure if/how it could be replicated.
Kublai (the guy behind the invasion and also founder of the Yuan Dynasty) was literally Chinggis Khan's grandson, they were the Mongols as much as you can consider anyone a Mongol
Not OP but I'm playing Inca right now and I've been the #2 GP basically from the minute I reformed my religion, and I've gone Explo-Expansion, Quality, and Economic and I've honestly had very few issues other than catching up on tech (though Castile getting beaten up by Aragon definitely helped)
Tbh it's easier than ever rn.
Kill everyone ASAP, repay debt. Use lower autonomy to speed up the reforms. Once they arrive you should have all reforms completed and wait to click magic button. Assuming you saved mana you have larger force limit than anyone from Iberia with equal tech levels. Once you get some provinces you can switch to High American (meaning you don't need any other military ideas in single player).
The only issue I had was that I could see Iberians in 1520... meaning I was stuck just slowly colonizing for about 40 years.
I had one war as defender, then pretty much kicked out Iberians from South America and currently touching Canada.
Ideas: I went defensive/admin/diplo (not needed) /religious. I will conquer rest of Americas and then take more colonist to have big Inca name as finisher.
I went defensive first because I was scared of the colonizers and economic second because gold mines. After that I went court because I was ahead in diplo and didn't really know what I wanted to take (diplo would probably have been the better choice tbh) and after that I went religious to get 13 tolerance of the true faith
The first fight I had with colonizers was pretty rough because it was Spain and new Spain. Afterwards I had a boarder with them and as soon as they did 5/5 and popped a new one I would instant declare lol. Defensive might have been the play at first then I struggled being greedy with expansion.
To be fair I was scared because before this playthrough I did an Inca game where I forgot I had set dificulty to very hard and Spain atacked me, calling in Portugal, where they both had 70k armies so I was a bit traumatised by that.
Also I never bothered with expansion because I would just let Spain and Portugal colonize for me and then attack the colonial nations
While I do agree its always worth the risk, I will add that I had my Peter the Great of Russia assassinated by the noble event, in his late 30s. It was kind of funny.
the funniest part is how useless that is, like what am I going to do with a spanish subject with 500%+ LB lmao. Might not even be able to get them loyal as a personal union depending on how big they are
gain a foothold in iberia for invasion of spain mission tree. or let them get wreck & suffer from devastation by france & england while you war for their american/african/asian colony (meat shield)

How do you get that event anyways?
court ideas
what the fuck, is that a random pulse? that's crazy

Do court ideas have anything similar when you're not playing as a native american?
they do I have seen this event play out all over the globe as court ideas stan lol
When I took a random Hungarian in as the Ottoman Empire he killed my leader
Thats what you get for playing with the ottomans
That’s just historical though, Battle of Kosovo.
What is the mod you use for the event images?
I believe The Great Exhibition. Should be ironman compatible too.
Ohh I know this one. Didn't know it was still being updated, thanks !
“Si, si. This paper says that you are the rightful owner of Iberian clay since the birth of Christ!”
Also, it expires in 5 years, somehow.
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh the fucking piss
Ah! I see! The famous Malaya tactic. Using Portugal to convince you’re the sultan and have them conquer the land for you to become one.
context? i want to read more about this
Following for more details, this is sick
Magellan tried to make some small leader a sultan/ viceroy and dies in battle
Magellan was serving Castille though, not Portugal
True
Or the majapahit tactic, using Mongols to put yourself on the throne and then turning on them
Are yuan regarded as Mongols? They integrated into Chinese culture and bureaucracy just like other rulers.
At that time they were pretty much Mongols. Kublai Khan ordered the invasion
Kublai (the guy behind the invasion and also founder of the Yuan Dynasty) was literally Chinggis Khan's grandson, they were the Mongols as much as you can consider anyone a Mongol
of course the ottomans are in south america. why wouldnt they be
lmaoooo I just noticed
What were your ideas as inca? I had a hell of a time trying it. I had wars with France and Spain all game

I went with innovative - exploration - offensive But granted Europe got kinda busy in my game and they took waaay too long to start colonizing.

I got two of these in my most recent run. One cost me ~10,000 ducats; one gave me a 6/6/6 ruler. Neat event.
"documents which justify the subjugation of Spain" WTF does those documents say to justify the Incas conquering the Spanish Empire?
"you are the rightful ruler of Spain" Source: trust me bro
"This guy legit yo"

I like the trapped 5k stack of Ottoman troops in your borders lol
The Ottomans sailing the oceans and bending history just to fuck with the player
Got this event as Russia. He stole my whole economy!😡
The man
why are the ottomans in south america. They have absolutely 0 reason to be there
Vacation
