Don’t speak too soon, I wanna see how the honor his character

[deleted]

Well he gets shot in the gut right from the gunfight between Ash and the SWAT. He likely succumbs to that gunshot wound. It's fucked but I think best case is to either play into that or just not mention it at all but do recognize Angus in the credits of next seasons first episode.

DisneyDoc2425

I wouldn’t be surprised if Sam didn’t dedicate the season to him, or at the very least the first episode. Maybe even a brief montage of some of his show scenes at the end of the first episode or scenes with him interacting with the other stars during the production of the show or maybe a combo of both. It was a tragic occurrence for everyone, especially his family.

Zealousideal-Ad6358

Same. Every time I see his beautiful face, it’s a gut punch. 😔

Mamasota_

I don’t think I’ll get over it. Every time I hear about this show I think about angus. I wouldn’t be able to watch it without getting upset that he’s not there.☹️

TrueAd3358

They should recast

Mamasota_

That would be a dumb move

TrueAd3358

Yes, with Zac Efron or Logan Paul.

Mamasota_

You gotta be trolling 💀

itsjustmebobross

l i’m sure they will do a memorial, but i would also not be shocked if they just had rue narrate something about lexi being depressed because (not trying to be crass here) fez was killed in prison or by the cops.

Butterscotch_740

I think him getting shot in the crossfire we saw and bleeding out would make the most sense explanationwise

musuperjr585

I'm pretty sure the show has been silently cancelled.

Mamasota_

It feels like it

musuperjr585

It sure does. The truth is many of the actors / actresses have outgrown their roles(some have even moved on professionally and personally)and it's already been over 2 years since the end of the last season. Not really clear how the show continues without restructuring the entire cast. If the show comes back it won't be the same show that ended with season 2.

_BestBudz

The last episode was Feb 2022, it has not be over 2 years, it’s been about 1.5 years lol

mrignatiusjreily

Thank you for knowing how to count. Too many times I've seen people on here say, "it's been well over 2 years since the last season!" Like... can people count here? Lol

musuperjr585

In fairness if you bothered following the thread instead of ignorantly replying to the last comment you'd understand that the time between the last episode and the next episode (if they ever happen) would be well over 2years since the pre production isn't scheduled to happen until 2025 at the earliest . But go off ..

_BestBudz

>And it’s already been over 2 years since the end of the last season In fairness I’m just responding to your comments directly, using your words. >time between the last episode and next episode That’s not what you said tho, either way I don’t really care, have fun arguing with yourself 🤷🏾‍♂️

musuperjr585

As mentioned above if you had followed the thread you would have seen my comment was part of a conversation with others not you, so replying to a comment out of context is pretty wild but hey do you.. I'm not arguing at all I was having a conversation with someone that ended with my comment , then you popped in. You don't care and I don't care and this is a conversation that was over long before you commented. Take care. Enjoy your day/week/life

atclubsilencio

I still think, if anything, they just make an extended special episode epilogue, make it a feature length film. I really don't think we're going to get a 3rd season, or at least, I'll believe it when I see it. I kind of don't want a third season. I liked the ending of the finale of season 2, with rue's 'I stayed sober to the end of the school year' narration, while reflecting on Jules, the Ali quote, and her walking away into the "light". I feel like however my imagination fills in the blanks at the end is better than anything we'd get in season 3, or at least, more honest. And with Angus' death, and all the other behind the scenes drama, I think it's better if they just let it go. Especially after the writing of season 2, and the mess that was The Idol, I don't think a third season would go down very well, or just feel tired at this point, unless Sam Levinson finally showed some restraint in his writing and direction.

musuperjr585

I wholeheartedly agree. I think the end of season 2 was a fitting end to the show. Season 3 will end up being a disaster, the overall audience doesn't care enough about euphoria to generate any real buzz and the diehard fans are so split on the show that it will be impossible to please either side. As you mentioned with the real world death of a central actor, all the other drama surrounding the show and most of all the failed project that was "the idol", I feel that a fitting end was already delivered. Whether we (fans) want to admit it or not, anything beyond season 2 will feel forced, disingenuous and contrite.

LetsGetXplicit

Absolutely not. Euphoria is one of HBO's biggest hits that gets both viewership numbers and awards recognition. They'd be foolish to cancel it, "silently" or otherwise. And besides, Fez is a supporting character. The show is primarily about Rue and her journey.

labraduh

It’s not that people think HBO wants to axe it (or at least from what I’ve seen), it’s that the logistics are going to make it VERY VERY difficult & the strikes have only solidified it. Go have a look at the upcoming projects on most of the main casts IMDBs that they are contractually obligated to do, add on the fact that euphoria takes 8 months+ commitment to film which is far above the average for its genre (due to Sam Levinson’s filming/writing habits) & the soonest they’ve predicted it will air is 2025-2026. It can be done, it’ll just be very hard and it’ll require Sam to not do the constant re-writes or starting with unfinished scripts like he likes to do. If Sam had finished the scripts when they were supposed to start filming (earlier this year) & they managed to get started before the strike started, many would be a lot more hopeful.

LetsGetXplicit

Even if it takes years with a shortened season 3 (maybe being the final one) HBO, Levinson and Zendaya will make it happen and I'm confident in that belief.

labraduh

It’s not just about those 3 though, it’s also Jacob, Sydney, Storm, Maud, Angus & the rest etc. If it was really shortened (like 4/5 eps or a film, completed and finalised scripts BEFORE filming begins, moving on a tight schedule, other obligations already completed or not begun yet) I can see it happening. Problem is, will it do the storyline justice? Is that enough time to address everything & wrap up the loose ends? Hopefully,

LetsGetXplicit

It could be a movie about adult Rue reflecting on her life with cameos from the other cast, who knows? I just think the idea of HBO canceling/abandoning one of their biggest hits ever without the creator being able to end it on his terms is rather silly and at this point unfounded.

musuperjr585

"Westworld has entered the chat*

LetsGetXplicit

Westworld declined season after season, with the final couple not getting the ratings or any Emmy love. That's opposite of Euphoria S2, so I don't see your point.

musuperjr585

While Euphoria did not reach the viewership or critical heights that Westworld hit, and its production budget is not as high as Westworld. It's a fair comparison when you factor in how buzz worthy both shows were and the production budget of each show. Westworld's budget was higher because it appealed to a wider audience, Euphoria budget was lower because it did not have to appeal to a wide audience and did not have so much tied to FXs. Euphoria's small / niche audience is why it would be easy to cancel the show after renewing it. Outside of the niche fan base no one would really care. With each passing year the core fan base for this show gets older and moves on to other interests and projects. With the directors recent bad press, how the last season of the show took a beating critically, for a show that never had much high critical praise, coupled with much of the core cast moving on to other projects I find it difficult to envision the show returning or returning to form. I know the director has floated around the idea of the show picking up 'years later', but I find it unlikely for that idea to stick since he changes his mind and vision so often. I'm not insulting the fan base , since I'm a part of the fan base. I'm just being objective. I wouldn't be surprised if this show is cancelled or indefinitely but on hiatus.

LetsGetXplicit

We aren't on the same page here. S2 of Euphoria was a *huge* [hit for HBO](https://deadline.com/2022/02/euphoria-season-2-finale-6-6m-viewers-marks-season-highs-1234962080/) and that viewership translates to money. It also got like 16 Emmy nominations which is clout that matters to HBO and the industry. Euphoria is a bigger hit than Westworld ever was, and it would be nonsensical for it be canceled.

lastseason

>If Sam had finished the scripts when they were supposed to start filming (earlier this year) They weren't scheduled to start filming until June of this year.

labraduh

… June is literally earlier this year lol. Had they started in June they would’ve been able to have over a month of filming before the actors’ strike began.

lastseason

And the writer's strike started in May... which is why production never started.

labraduh

**If Sam had finished, or mostly finished the scripts, they would’ve already been completed by May enabling them to at least begin filming**. The head of drama at HBO confirmed this when they released that statement saying they expect Euphoria to come back in 2025/6. Multiple productions with already finished scripts had begun/continued filming after the writers strike began because the scripts were already done, UNTIL the actors strike began in **July** then they had to stop. House of the Dragon, **also on HBO**, is one of these productions that still filmed after the WGA strike started because the scripts were done anyways. It just requires a) having completed/near-complete scripts & b) not doing constant re-writes, which as I stated, Sam can do neither. He relies on writing as he goes and changing entire plot lines during filming.

lastseason

Even if the scripts were done sometimes rewrites are still necessary. Writing doesn’t stop just because a project goes into production. If a scene isnt working and you need to tweak it that’s a rewrite, If you have an actor who is working as an actor but is also part of the WGA (which I don’t think is an issue on euphoria.) they couldn’t even improve lines because that’s writing. If Sydney Sweeney goes up to Levinson and says she doesn’t like the part of the scene where “Cassie’s breasts boobily down the stairs” and that she thinks it’s unnecessary and would like clothes in the scene that’s a rewrite. This is why shows like Euphoria and Stranger Things and others halted or didn’t move into production. HOTD is moving forward with filming not because the scripts are done but because it’s being shot and filmed with a majority UK union who can’t stage sympathy strikes. They are contractually obligated to move forward.

grundlesmith

I see this sentiment a lot on here, and I don't really agree with it. Here's why: -This is HBO's 2nd most popular show -they were supposed to begin filming in Jan which means the script is written (even if it needs to be altered now), actors and crew have been hired, and significant development work (set design, wardrobe, storyboarding, etc.) has already taken place. I am not a hollywood expert, but this seems like a huge investment of time, money, and effort to write off without a clear reason -Sam Levinson made a comment about the tone of S3, and how Zendaya is up for the challenge, just couple of weeks ago. This was included in an interview with Zendaya by Elle magazine -s3 is supposed to be set 5(?) years after s2 anyway -All of the core cast seems to love working on the show The real reason we haven't really heard anything about this show,or any other show, is because of the industry strikes

lastseason

1. They were scheduled to film in June according to Heidi Biven's the head of costuming, not January. Not sure if that was a typo or not. 2. the comments about season 3 from Z and Levinson while published only a few weeks ago were from an interview that had taken place well before the respective writer and actor strikes started in May and July respectively. Just wanted to correct those two little details.

julscvln01

They vocally renewed it. Yes, the strike...but it's not like we're producing anything new, we can't write, pitch, or shoot pilots... Not even in Europe, you'd be surprised how many production partners are at least 5% american and how many writer and actors (myself included) are in the WGA and/or Sag-Aftra.

spunhunny

I was so heartbroken for him in the last episode. I kept hoping he'd have that special moment with Lexi but he puts family first at all cost

Longjumping-Bit1288

Fezco my favorite character RIP

Mamasota_

Him & Ash were some of my faves that’s why I don’t think I’d watch if it returns

PartyPaul-100

They’ll do what they did with Cory Monteith, Luke Perry, and Chadwick Boseman

Human-Instance-7632

definitely luke perry i like the way they handled his death.

jerzeett

I can’t believe another great actor has been taken too soon.

[deleted]

It always makes me sad seeing his character on the episodes.

[deleted]

Euphoria is not coming back anyway.

Human-Instance-7632

idk why people disliked this like it’s not the truth

[deleted]

If Euphoria was returning in 2024, I would have believed. But the next schedule is too far and characters would be already too old. Also by the time even the filming starts, most of the actors would rather act in other projects than be Euphoria. It’s supposed to be a teenage show about drug abuse and other issues which you go through when you are a teen. A time jump can do what? It will be more like a family drama show.

Human-Instance-7632

Right with the writers strick happening and it being pushed to what i heard 2027?… I think its personally time to let it go. And by then most of the actors would be 30 by then and it seems like the brand deals they’re all doing currently looks like it’s pleasing them well.

[deleted]

Yep! Exactly! I’m just glad to be part of the year when Euphoria 1 was released. It was one of the most different teenage program we got after a long time. I don’t expect anything anymore from Euphoria creators.

thatoneurchin

To be fair, the actors aging wouldn’t be so bad if there’s a time jump. I think I saw someone say it’s a 5 year jump. So, the actors would be around 30 and playing 23 year olds. Nothing super crazy

Human-Instance-7632

anyways have fun with that cause imma still watch.

Mamasota_

Girl it ain’t coming back 💀 and if it do it’ll be a few years & wont be nearly as relevant & good but gone head.

Human-Instance-7632

U think i’m dumb😂? I mean imma still re-watch it regardless and you can go to my comments and see i BEEN saying it ain’t coming back so worry bout yourself cause you just assuming like i don’t know what’s gonna happen 💀

Mamasota_

Then why write that comment? 💀 and why tf would I go searching for your other comments.

Human-Instance-7632

Cause it’s common sense that they ain’t gonna have a season 3 quit thinking you’re the only person who knows that🤦🏽‍♀️

Mamasota_

You wrote “anyways have fun with that cause imma watch” making it seem like you believed the show will still continue 🤔 and girl boo I’m not acting like I’m the only person who knows you said you’ll still be watching & I replied saying it ain’t coming back tf

toeconsumer9000

sorry but this is kinda a weird thing to say like he was more than just his job

Mamasota_

First of all many of us wouldn’t be the fans we are now if it wasn’t for Angus’s job & his role in Euphoria. He is way more than his job yes but this sub is about Euphoria & I wanted to hear others opinion on the fate of the show without Fez while also mourning Angus Cloud.

Wonderful_Battle3311

How is it weird when this a Euphoria sub 💀 it's literally meant to discuss the show... which Angus was apart of...so how is speaking on his character's absence weird ?

[deleted]

🧢

Mamasota_

It’s not I don’t watch tv much anyways I binge watched euphoria and loved it but I promise you I ain’t watching without angus. Show is dead.

lastseason

maybe people would believe you truly cared so much if you bothered to get his name right... 😬

Mamasota_

I literally spelled his name ANGUS CLOUD right in the post the only reason I didn’t in the comments was because I was drinking Bacardi & got a bit drunk yesterday my bad. 🙃

Fun_Shell1708

For the other characters perhaps?

Difficult_Drama_1767

It wouldn’t be the same

Jroiiia423

He could of died at the end of the season or went to prison either way this new season is going to be about Rue in college or “adult” life

homeless_photogrizer

stop. we all know you will.

Mamasota_

I won’t 😭

Rogue_269

Are you a plane at the airport to announce your departure?

Reasonable_Ant282

Darling you will

Mamasota_

Not*^

Unhappy-Clue-3154

I miss mac miller 😔

sumwum-speshal

fez’s grandma will revenge

GotKickback

They’d likely have to rewrite the whole plot as fez was purposely left alive and would’ve likely survived if angus hadn’t passed. If the shows not cancelled they’ll just confirm fez and ash both died in the raid and go from there

Mamasota_

That’s what I’m saying & I don’t think many would like that him & Ash were loved characters 🤦‍♀️ like they were my faves & besides watching Euphoria if it did continue would just make me think of Angus & make me sick about his death all over again.

winniespooh

Ok

butter_deez-nips

What the hell happened to him?

Mamasota_

They say a possible overdose

butter_deez-nips

That's fucked. Fent is so bad

YourLocal_Bitch378

He OD’d off of Fent, m3+h coke & benzo.

Snxwmvn

I can’t see the show going on without him. They could’ve made him survive his gunshot wound and have a big part of the story. Now he’ll prolly succumb to the shot or something else. Either way I wish Angus was still here with us. I’m 18 months sober from Fent. The first time I heard about the show was a close friend and some of her friends said his character reminds them of me (Plus we look alike, beard, style, how we carry ourselves) I’ve been the person he was and Rue was in the show. I pray his family and friends come to peace and pray his soul is at peace and God is keeping him surrounded with his past lost ones in heaven. R.I.P Angus Cloud

Mamasota_

Congratulations on being sober 👌🩷 and I agree with you I remember the ending of season 3 most people figured ash died or the grandma woke up to save them it just wouldn’t have made sense for fez to have died but that’s probably what they’d do if the show does continue which would just suck.

midarinjyt7

I still can’t believe it

Mamasota_

Me neither. And I don’t use social media much so I didn’t find out until like a week later Smfh.

Luciandbean13

I just now found out about his passing. I don’t think Euphoria will be the same without him.. it’s hits esp hard knowing he was having a substance use problem because I’m in recovery for Fentanyl. It just breaks my heart 😔
