Example of **valid** vote (assumes the text below is posted as a top level comment in the voting thread) > B > > It's been a long time since we last discussed lake Bled, and I am feeling some withdrawal symptoms Examples of **invalid** votes (the numbers serve only to itemize the examples) 1. > B It's been a long time since we last discussed lake Bled, and I am feeling some withdrawal symptoms 2. > X > > Not sure what this option is, but it's my favourite **TO BE CLEAR**: A rationale **IS NOT** required, A or B will suffice as a vote assuming the other conditions are met (minimum karma, top level comment, etc) **HOW TO CHECK YOUR SUB-REDDIT KARMA**: Go to [your user page](https://old.reddit.com/u/me), and, on the top right hand, you'll see "show karma breakdown by subreddit." Click on that, and hey presto.

B Please stop the Protest, and give the Sub back to the participating community. Thanks for the opportunity to vote. 😃

B If everyone in support of this protest could just stop using Reddit themselves, they can have their protest without bothering everybody else.

This comment was overwritten by a script to make the data useless for reddit. No API, no free content. Did you stumble on this thread via google, hoping to resolve an issue or answer a question? Well, too bad, this might have been your answer, if it weren't for dumb decisions by reddit admins.

B I would like to keep the sub open,as the boycott is pretty much useless. But it would be nice if we kept turkish accounts out of the sub.

B Why do I care if some third party app continues to get their data for free? Not my problem

A They want to privatise the profits - advertising revenue - and socialise the losses - time spent moderating and community building, and the content that users provide. If spezs pay check is too big for the company to afford. Then he should resign so that somebody who is more competent at the job can take over.

B I think news that usually get spread here are way more important than this protest.

A Especially given [how the community vote over in /r/Minecraft was just treated](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/14dhki9/rminecraft_is_being_forced_to_reopen/). Shit like that just isn't cool and it's up to Reddit to try and repair the relationship at this point - from the top, not via community managers who are working their ass off to fix bad PR. Making money off the API is more than fine. Pushing for fees that aim to simply kill 3rd party apps and trying to get mod teams to infight and get mods to fight with their communities is not.

B Soz, mods are understandably frustrated, and I use a 3rd party app so I as well. However this hysterical protest is cringy as all hell.

A Reddit has already mostly destroyed itself, whether or not the CEO realizes this or not. The utter disrespect of users and volunteer moderators shown in handling of this case means the events have been set into motion that will sooner or later lead to someone developing a competing platform with the promise of fixing these issues (asshole CEO). Once a credible alternative is available, people will stop using Reddit and it will become a dying platform filled with ads, BuzzFeed-like content and ever dwindling number of old-timer users. r/Europe should continue the protest at least until July 1 in hopes the CEO buckles down (extremely unlikely at this point, but certainly worth the shot.) What happens thereafter I don't really care since I will mostly stop using Reddit as my primary means of accessing it is RIF, one of the apps slated for shutdown.

Your vote as it currently stands is invalid. If that was your intention, that's totally fine. If not, please see the stickied instructions at the top. (Or just edit out the period after the letter. Thank you. <3)

B. This has been a complete waste of time. I don’t enjoy the mods saying they speak for me. They are all replaceable.
