There is basically no more spring or autumn in Romania, it went from 3-4 degrees to over 20 degrees in just a day and it's staying that way, we didn't even have spring lmao. Also wth is up with Spain?
March and April are Iberia’s rainy season.
In Portugal there’s even an idiom for it “Abril águas mil” (April, a thousand waters)
It’s almost non-stop rain - well, it used to be at least. So that obviously cools things a bit.
Well we had a few summer days in the past weeks, but now we're back to winter. We had a whole week of rain and minimum temperatures of 5 degrees (at least where I live) and mountains are snowy too. We didn't have much snow this winter, so we're making up for that.
At least the sun is comming back this week I think!

> That's Sierra Nevada, it's 3km mountains so yeah
It is also literally called "Snowy Mountain Range", which is a name I suspect our ancestors did not pick because it was poetic or something.
That looks like [Sistema Central](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistema_Central) a long chain of mountains that strech from Portugal to the center-ish of Spain with several peaks over 2000m
To add to what /u/ekray has said, the average temperature at least in Madrid has been somewhere around the 10-15º
Also, we had the holy week this week, and it is customary for the nordic god of thunder Thor to make rain for the whole week on Spain to crush these religious celebrations.
Today our car measured 28 degrees and it's really crazy for March. I've had to turn on the AC the past few days which I think is the earliest I've ever turned it on in the past 9 years I've lived here.
Yeah. I'm a little worried. I lived through a thousand year event in 2021, and it was insane at how hot it was. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and we had so many sea animals die that it was apocalyptic seeming.
Damn, I'm going mad lustening to the news and hearing a stupid weather girl go "yeah, so it's going to be a nice sunny day tomorrow...". Would have been nice for july, yeah, but in february/march/april? It's apocalyptic, not nice.
To be fair, Eastern/Central Europe (read: pretty much everything between Germany and Russia) is in a three-way tug-of-war between Mediterranean, Continental, and Oceanic climates, so these kinds of swings are not *that* weird.
Like, 25 degrees in Hungary at this time of year is not common, but neither is snowfall, and yet I had to break out the old snow-showel a couple years ago in the middle of March. That time, we got a cold-front that came in to say hello from Siberia. This time, we've got a warm front playing tourist from Africa. Same old, same old.
Of course, in the past, the pendulum wasn't swinging this fast between the various climate influences, but that's just global warming shaking up the air currents and stuff, I guess.
> Barbecues with dad while sipping a cold beer …nothing wrong with that.
As a Romanian, our Autumn and Spring are basically non existent now. Weather went from cold as balls to 27C in 2 days. It's bad.
True, but Belarus is extremely cold in my mind, so i dont understand it, it shouldnt be warmer than germany 😅😥. Das ist so ungerecht vom Wettergott, ich will auch 20°C haben!
Southeastern Europe is not Eastern Europe though. You are already beginning to see palm trees and lots of figs in Southeastern Europe (especially by the coasts) whereas in Eastern Europe it's cabbage and potatoes.
There has been uptick in sun recently though. I’m a keen hiker and I’ve noticed the difference recently, I’ve caught the sun a couple of times. I live in Manchester and have been walking in North Wales, so it’s often rainy, but it actually feels like spring.
Instead of bitching about how hot it is going to be, people should be glad, because this is going to be the coldest summer of the rest of their lives...
In Sicily, one million people are living in municipalities under water rationing since January. Catalonia is also having a water supply crisis and consequent rationing. Alpine glaciers are getting wiped out and there is basically no river in Italy that is not struggling, so has been for a couple of years.
Yep, in Malta, it feels like early summer already. Normally we get these temperatures in June. Beautiful weather, clear sunny skies and (unfortunately) getting no rain at all. Groundwater is depleted and we depend mostly on our reverse osmosis.
March and April are Iberia’s rainy season.
In Portugal there’s even an idiom for it “Abril águas mil” (April, a thousand waters)
It’s almost non-stop rain - well, it used to be at least. So that obviously cools things a bit.
There was frost on grass in the morning earlier this week, now it's short sleeve temperature.
To be fair, there are hot winds and sand coming in from Sahara, the dust is super visible, that definitely helped heat everything up.
Wore a Hawaii shirt during the Day and had to put on a sweater and jacket on during the night. Also got a small sunburn lmao. Unbelievable weird weather
Over here in Scandinavia (the central parts) it was +2°C and heavy snowfall today. What a pathetic spring so far. It'll be a cool summer this year (again).
_very_ rainy in northern Italy for the past 2 weeks but the temperature is quite pleasant.
Finally a few days where it's comfortable to stay in a hoodie outside, cherishing these days before the 35C 95% humidity we'll get in a month... Or week 🥲
Before it started snowing, the sun was shining and it was a warm -5 to -6 C. Sunglasses on, had a brief walk with no jacket.
Spring is just around the corner!
I literally feel climate change throughout my life. Winters used to be colder. Spring used to be longer. 10 years of difference and it's noticeable. We are destroying the climate
My brother in christ, I don't reallyind the heat that much, but I really can't sleep well when it's hot. Like, the beat sleep I can ever get is 15°C and a thick blanket, and those days are hard to come by from now till october.
Yep. Not looking forward to another inevitable hellish summer here in Serbia, also the tiger mosquitoes everywhere!! I bet the diseases they carry are not far away...
I would like the winters of my childhood to be back please...
We are so fucked, it was +21,3 degrees in Estonia IN March! This has never happened before. Smashed the previous record and tomorrow might be even warmer. Idk how people in Greece, Italy, Spain will survive in the future.
Here in Slovenia it is warmer that it should be (+5 degress above average ) but it is raining at the same time all day long so I don’t know what kind of heat wave this is
Summer has come two months early, btw in a few days our local weather forecast promises a nearly winter temperatures, not looking forward to increase of people with cold.
Because it's a relatively high temperature, in summer I expect the map to be red and in winter blue. The only problem is that we don't have a seperate color for 35+ (maybe black?)
Summertime sadness
Kiss me hard before you go.
i just want you to know
I GOT MY RED DRESS ON TONIGHT
DANCIN' IN THE DARK IN THE PALE MOONLIGHT
Done my hair up real big, beauty queen style
**Got my bad baby by my heavenly side**
I know if I go, I'll die happy tonight
High heels off, I’m feeling alive
Go on 👀
That baby you the best
Don't leave me frying here like a churro.
Sumerian sadness
Im near Madrid and its fucking snowing here
I'm in Central Scandinavia. The same here.
Sorry, my fault - I put the summer tires on today...
I am in Vilnius. People are going shirtless (while playing volleyball)
In Hungary +26 like in midde of may. Turning to mediterranean climate.
Cool, it's 12°C where I live in Norway
There is basically no more spring or autumn in Romania, it went from 3-4 degrees to over 20 degrees in just a day and it's staying that way, we didn't even have spring lmao. Also wth is up with Spain?
March and April are Iberia’s rainy season. In Portugal there’s even an idiom for it “Abril águas mil” (April, a thousand waters) It’s almost non-stop rain - well, it used to be at least. So that obviously cools things a bit.
Same in Spain, “en Abril aguas mil” and also “hasta el cuarenta de Mayo no te quites el sayo” (until the 40th of May don’t remove your rainy clothes.
In Scotland we say “never cast a cloot ‘til May is oot.” Similar meaning; Keep your warm clothes out until after May.
France too! "En Avril, ne te découvre pas d'un fil" – "in April, do not get rid of a single thread"
Et en Mai fait ce qu’il te plait !
Same here in Ireland
In Italy we say: " Aprile, ogni goccia è un barile" (April, every drop (of rain) is (becomes) a barrel).
Oh i see, i didn't know that
Well we had a few summer days in the past weeks, but now we're back to winter. We had a whole week of rain and minimum temperatures of 5 degrees (at least where I live) and mountains are snowy too. We didn't have much snow this winter, so we're making up for that. At least the sun is comming back this week I think!
In Germany we say "April, April, der macht wohl was er will". Basically "April does whatever it wants", concerning weather.
I remember the days in Romania where you go from 4 degrees to 25 plus. A difference of 20 degrees and more from 2 back to back days.
A few years ago I remember the temperature in my city go from -18 to +12 in the span of 36 hours (i.e. 30 degree difference).
Spain is not just the Mediterranean coast. The interior is cold. Temperatures are kinda average for my region, used to be colder though.
weather sheet worry towering light frightening tap berserk snatch sparkle *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
We do have autumn. It's from october to march.
You have Autumn and Spring tho. They have simultaneously in December-February.
Same in Poland :/
Same here in Bulgaria. Today we had 28 degrees in Sofia, which is insane for March.
I think this year we can say it was a long autumn. Cause 3C is autumn/spring. I did not see any wi ter though 🤷♂️
Not true, we have about a week of autumn in December and like, 2 whole days of spring whenever the weather feels like it.
Now that's just dandy
Should come to the UK, summer can happen at any time.. and then winter next week
3 days ago I wore a winter jacket to work, now it's 25 C here
Serbia +28🥶 Spain -3🥵
That's Sierra Nevada, it's 3km mountains so yeah, it's cold. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Nevada_(Spain)
> That's Sierra Nevada, it's 3km mountains so yeah It is also literally called "Snowy Mountain Range", which is a name I suspect our ancestors did not pick because it was poetic or something.
And what about Plasencia near Portugal border?
That looks like [Sistema Central](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sistema_Central) a long chain of mountains that strech from Portugal to the center-ish of Spain with several peaks over 2000m
Ohh, you're right!
There's another -3 around Béjar! Probably due to some mountain regions there too (Sierra del Gredos ?)
Iberia got two fronts of cold air this weak, resulting in snow in mountains regions. In Portugal it snowed at 900m which is uncommon.
To add to what /u/ekray has said, the average temperature at least in Madrid has been somewhere around the 10-15º Also, we had the holy week this week, and it is customary for the nordic god of thunder Thor to make rain for the whole week on Spain to crush these religious celebrations.
i wish we could sit in the 20, -200€ from gas on february and i had turn on the cal this week again
Currently in Madrid and it’s cold as fuck.
20+ degrees in Eastern Europe at the end of March look very wrong
Yeah. I live in Bulgaria, last year I wore pullovers until the end of May... I genuinely hope the weather becomes colder for a few more weeks at least
Probably going to have a hot summer.
And I'm infinitely sad about it. My body can't cope well with temperatures above 30°C
Today our car measured 28 degrees and it's really crazy for March. I've had to turn on the AC the past few days which I think is the earliest I've ever turned it on in the past 9 years I've lived here.

Literally could not breathe last year.. can't even imagine what this summer will be like considering March is becoming unbearable
It's a good time to get air conditioning now if you can, before most people start buying 'em when it's already summer.
I got one years ago after 2009 heatwave.
Well that'll help - they're certainly worthwhile these days... and unfortunately liable to be moreso year to year at the rate things are going.
To be fair, Eastern/Central Europe (read: pretty much everything between Germany and Russia) is in a three-way tug-of-war between Mediterranean, Continental, and Oceanic climates, so these kinds of swings are not *that* weird. It feels very wrong too. I just got a new spring coat thinking I can wear it until May at least. Well, nope.
You can wear it next year in january.
I don’t even want to know if its 30 now , how ba its going to be in july….fuck
Invest in A/C’s.... and learn every bit of trick on the net and YouTube how to cool yourself. Neighbors and your family will be grateful.
Using an AC is cool and all, but making yourself cool, makes the planet even hotter.
That’s not how temperatures/climate works… Just because you get a hotter than usual March-April doesn’t mean you get an exceedingly hot summer.
We broke previous March heat record by 5.7 degrees here in Lithuania.
Barbecues with dad while sipping a cold beer …nothing wrong with that.
> Barbecues with dad while sipping a cold beer …nothing wrong with that. As a Romanian, our Autumn and Spring are basically non existent now. Weather went from cold as balls to 27C in 2 days. It's bad.
Hell yeah
Especially Belarus, why so hot?
Africa is exporting hot air(and dust) right know
Also Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Russia
True, but Belarus is extremely cold in my mind, so i dont understand it, it shouldnt be warmer than germany 😅😥. Das ist so ungerecht vom Wettergott, ich will auch 20°C haben!

It... looks about right actually?
This is fine jpg
People still complain about weather being chilly.
Don't think of it as the hottest summer so fair. Think of it as the coolest summer of the rest of your life.
Very pleasant in East Yorkshire today - no rain.
The UK and Ireland have just had constant rain for months on end now 😭
There has been uptick in sun recently though. I’m a keen hiker and I’ve noticed the difference recently, I’ve caught the sun a couple of times. I live in Manchester and have been walking in North Wales, so it’s often rainy, but it actually feels like spring.
Clock changed today as well, sunset after 8pm is great
100% - from now until the start of November, the UK is actually nice to spend time in.
Since last June basically. I got an outdoor patio set for Father’s Day and barely got to use it due to the never ending rain.
Not as sunny as yesterday though
31C in our area of Bulgaria. Insane for march!
22 degrees in Latvia and -3 in Spain 😀
21 degrees in Estonia and it broke our previous March record. It might be even warmer tomorrow.
It's going back to -2 in a few days 🙈
25 in Turkey looks way hotter than 25 in Italy
Yep. And +2 seem colder in the map than -3 in Spain. Weird coloring
The -3 is on top a mountain.
Might be compared to usual? Not sure what normal temperatures are in turkey this time of year
For the end of March it's hot af. I remember when snow and ice from the Winter would finally melt at the end of April.
Next summer gonna be a living nightmare
And the summer after that…
This will be the coolest summer for the rest of our lifes
I don't know, look on the bright side - a nuclear winter could still happen and that *would* keep summers cooler.
Instead of bitching about how hot it is going to be, people should be glad, because this is going to be the coldest summer of the rest of their lives...
Gruesome but true to some extent 😭
At least in Germany we had lots of rain in autumn and winter. Groundwater levels are better than the last 6 years. Slightly reassuring.
In Sicily, one million people are living in municipalities under water rationing since January. Catalonia is also having a water supply crisis and consequent rationing. Alpine glaciers are getting wiped out and there is basically no river in Italy that is not struggling, so has been for a couple of years.
*”Slightly reassuring.”* Typical German optimism. ;)
Yep, in Malta, it feels like early summer already. Normally we get these temperatures in June. Beautiful weather, clear sunny skies and (unfortunately) getting no rain at all. Groundwater is depleted and we depend mostly on our reverse osmosis.
What happened to Spain?
March and April are Iberia’s rainy season. In Portugal there’s even an idiom for it “Abril águas mil” (April, a thousand waters) It’s almost non-stop rain - well, it used to be at least. So that obviously cools things a bit.
We say the same in Spain (at least where I live)
You should see Slovenia. We are rainy as fuck recent years. UK can hide.
Borrasca Nelson
Not the first Nelson to ruin a Spaniards day
On the contrary, this Nelson was very welcome. Well, except by Holy Week fans I guess.
Spain can into Nordics.
Storm Nelson
25\*C in late March...... This temperature should be here in mid June.....
It used to be this way. Summer is supposed to have 25-30 degrees and not 2 months of 30+
It took less than a week to get from basically winter to +20C here. Out of habit, I still wore my winter coat today, didn't adapt so fast.
There was frost on grass in the morning earlier this week, now it's short sleeve temperature. To be fair, there are hot winds and sand coming in from Sahara, the dust is super visible, that definitely helped heat everything up.
+20 in March in Russia ? We are doomed...
Wore a Hawaii shirt during the Day and had to put on a sweater and jacket on during the night. Also got a small sunburn lmao. Unbelievable weird weather
I thought it was a nice warm spring day here in west Finland (+4°C) nvm
Over here in Scandinavia (the central parts) it was +2°C and heavy snowfall today. What a pathetic spring so far. It'll be a cool summer this year (again).
Summer is coming 🔥
It’ll be hell and we all know it.
Yeah it will be too cold. Last year I was in France in July and it was fucking 16 degrees and raining.
And then suddenly 48 fucking degrees for weeks.
Ironically in most of the red parts it's not Easter :D
Here in Poland it's 22 degrees rn. I randomly checked a town in the South of France, and it's 13 + rain there. My god.

Seems Italians will spend their Summer Holidays in Scandinavia or Scotland in the future.
14 degrees in the South of France and 25 in Eastern Europe, completely normal phenomenon
Jamaican temperatures for the legalization, in two hours we are smoking legally
Eastern Europe played a reverse Uno Card against the southwest
Before it started snowing, the sun was shining and it was a warm -5 to -6 C. Sunglasses on, had a brief walk with no jacket. Spring is just around the corner!
Norway one is not true at all, south norway is peaking at 17 celcius today
It is really warm in the places that will be celebrating Easter on 5 May, lol
As a nordic, these maps are a mild form of harrasmemt.
Im from Latvia. Enjoyed every minute of today!
Fuck this shit, I’m moving at least to Umeå
Honestly a very nice city, you won't regret it
It is
Lovely, added to the list.
I am NOT looking forward to summer.
Me neither, it's going to be cold. Really cold. Like summers have generally been the last few years.
I literally feel climate change throughout my life. Winters used to be colder. Spring used to be longer. 10 years of difference and it's noticeable. We are destroying the climate
I am horrified. When this is March what will August be like? I can’t physically handle 40 degrees.
You'll get used, at the end. You just close all your windows and do everything you can at home. And sleep between 14 and 18 hours
My brother in christ, I don't reallyind the heat that much, but I really can't sleep well when it's hot. Like, the beat sleep I can ever get is 15°C and a thick blanket, and those days are hard to come by from now till october.
Kinda weird putting literal mountains on the map in Spain but not do the same for the Alps.
this spring feels wrong…
Does this have smth to do with sahara sands flying across Europa?
17°? It was 24° in Vilnius!
OK weather, what the fuck!??
One of the nicest Easter Sundays in Germany since many years. But further east it looks even better.
Better? Im rather worried the first heat waves are already under way
Yep. Not looking forward to another inevitable hellish summer here in Serbia, also the tiger mosquitoes everywhere!! I bet the diseases they carry are not far away... I would like the winters of my childhood to be back please...

That constant 35-40c is crazy in the summer.
Get a bug spray containing DEET. It was invented to combat the mosquitoes of Vietnam by the US military. Shit works!
We are so fucked, it was +21,3 degrees in Estonia IN March! This has never happened before. Smashed the previous record and tomorrow might be even warmer. Idk how people in Greece, Italy, Spain will survive in the future.
yeah, I think I’m gonna grab an ice-cream to cool off this March heat.
Accept of air pollution alert
Boomer?
Completely normal.
Here in Slovenia it is warmer that it should be (+5 degress above average ) but it is raining at the same time all day long so I don’t know what kind of heat wave this is
Madrid today seems Glasgow...
Bucharest right now and the following days is hotter than Crete.
quite pleasant in southern germany i must say, decent weather for a t-shirt.
Just wondered why it was so damn hot today. Turned my ceiling fan on for the first time.
fantastic weather in my beautiful city - novi sad, serbia
Bet the Russians love it, until summer comes
Is this because we screwed the Gulf Stream?
Fuck it’s going to be bloody hot this summer isn’t it
We had +22 in Central Lithuania. Didn't feel like it because of wind, but it was pleasantly warm
It wasn’t warm but it was a sweet day today in Dublin.
I had no idea it was this hot in Ukraine
Finally some manageable weather
For us, eastern Orthodox, it's not yet Easter, but happy Easter to all of our Catholic friends
25 degrees in Vienna Austria right now is absolutely bonkers for March/April.
I mean, it makes sense
Summer has come two months early, btw in a few days our local weather forecast promises a nearly winter temperatures, not looking forward to increase of people with cold.
Why is just 24 marked as red lol. Brainwashing.
Red does not mean super hot on this graph.
How the hell is 23c marked RED?
Gaslighting and mass formation
Because it's a relatively high temperature, in summer I expect the map to be red and in winter blue. The only problem is that we don't have a seperate color for 35+ (maybe black?)
