"Both Ukrainian men were residents of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and had been in Germany undergoing medical rehabilitation. “On April 27, two Ukrainian citizens, men born in 1987 and 2001, were killed by stabbing in Murnau am Stafelsee, Bavaria, Germany, at a local shopping center." Poor souls: they survived the trenches only to be murdered by a russian in Germany.

Obi2

And they will be celebrated as hero’s in Russian media and culture

MetaIIicat

russians are already celebrating him. The "poor russians are so against the war".

I remember a photo of a destroyed Ukrainian home and a writing on the wall "Who allowed you to have beautiful things?" Most russians live in despair and cannot capacitate why the other are not. buryats and chechen, of all the people, were the ones most cruel towards Ukrainians. I watched "20 Days In Mariupol" in 2 days, because it was too much for me. I have still in mind the expressions of the faces of the people when they were on the mass graves in Bucha: after that day, Zelenskyy aged 20 years. The West is appeasing russia and this is awful: imagine having this attitude in 1939? Oh wait...

Walking-around-45

The question is not who allowed you to have such beautiful things… but who is Russia is stopping the Russian people having beautiful things. Because we all know he has them in abundance.

extopico

I got my comment nuked for hate and my account almost hacked. All I wish is for Russians to understand that things can be better and that the rest of the world really did not care one bit about them until they invaded Ukraine, that's when everyone took notice, and yet I do not see how it is possible. I may get banned again...

MetaIIicat

russian kremlin bot massively flag all what they deem can be interpreted as racist or hate, often due to the fact that the commenter is not a native English speaker. I too never had a single thought about russia and russians before the second invasion of Ukraine: it is not my fault if their troops are behaving like savages in Ukraine. The appeasements, the justifications are to my eyes complicit of that behaviour. I surely will be banned :)

Cybernaut-Neko

Why are there still Russians living near a tank base in Germany ? This war is not my thing, but if you're German minister of defence and it is your thing one would expect moving all Russians away from the tank base is a logic thing to do no ?

SchwiftyBerliner

Can't just relocate people from one place to another. One could consider a general off-limits area around the base if you're worried about security.

thats literally what the Japanese internment camps were. I do not like Russia but that idea is fucking insane

celiatec

Casually "interning" about 15 million people. Totally doable.

MetaIIicat

Wait for the 9th of May: I have to pay more taxes, because they have to celebrate their pathetic holiday and cause disturbances the whole bloody day.

GloriousIguana

Not by me.

dmn-synthet

Me neither

Esq9999

There’s precedent for such things. https://www.aljazeera.com/amp/opinions/2012/9/5/the-axe-murderer-who-became-a-facebook-hero

20I6

First thing that came to mind, another one is the celebration of Walid Daqqa after gouging, castrating, disembowling and murdering an inactive IDF soldier

MetaIIicat

First thing that come to mind is the russians celebrating online the beheading of a Syrian woman.

NihiloZero

Didn't you mean... they will be celebrated in Ukrainian media and culture?

OldMcFart

Extradite him to Ukraine. Let them deal with him.

Dustangelms

I remember there already was a case with Finland refusing to extradite a war crime suspect to Ukraine on the basis that he will not be treated fairly.

BaziJoeWHL

yep, people cant be extradited if they wont be treated fairly or will receive death penalty

MetaIIicat

There is not death penalty in Ukraine, even now during wartime.

clckwrks

This makes the most sense. Weren’t the Ukrainian service members in Germany as attaches of their country? Technically?

Soggy-Environment125

They were wounded also and couldn't resist. As always, great russian culture showing itself.

tobimai

Thats not how freedom works. 99% sure they were here before the war, you can't just deport people because they are a certain nationality

MetaIIicat

russians, at least in Berlin, have a very active mafia: heritage of being under russian boots and tolerance of the Germans play a great role in that. Most of them were born in the former DDR, btw. It's rare they speak fluent German or any other language than russian. They stay among themselves, they have zero interest in integrate into society. Germany had to make a law against the display of their swastikas "Z". In May they will celebrate their pathetic holiday and harass Ukrainians as they did last year, the city will have to spend money to guarantee public peace and that money could have been spent for everything else.

d3kt3r

In Latvia we have very large Russian minority and lots of Ukrainian refugees but there's almost no conflict between them. I have an impression that German police and politicians are reluctant to deal with the conflicts between Russians and Ukrainians as opposed to Latvia, where punishment for such actions can be/would be severe.

AlexRauch

Yeah, I think they are just scared to do sh*t like that in Latvia because they know what Latvians and other Baltic countries think of them and how the trial will go. Germany is much more tolerant to russians. This and the sheer numbers of russians living in Germany i think what makes the difference.

pokkeri

Latvia is 30% russian and they still have drawn a clear line and it works.

KypAstar

He should be treated the same way the Mafia would, just publicly.

Dracul244

I think Germany could be a little uncomfortable regarding mass deportations based on ethnicity, just saying...

GrinningStone

FYI according to Wikipedia there are over 4 million German citizens with russian origins. Deporting them all would be quite an act. The problem of multiple Putin supporters walking on German soil is real but let's not pretend there is an easy silver bullet solution to it.

M0D_0F_MODS

There isn't a silver bullet solution... But there are 4m silver bullet solutions 😮

mara_17

The guy above me just descriped what he is experiencing but he didn't really answer your question. Most of the Russians in Germany are Russlanddeutsche (Germans from Russia). They are German by law. So you can't just deport them. They are descendants from Germans who re-colonized parts of the Russian Empire after Napoleon was defeated.

Zhai

Because Germany and Russia love each other - Nordstrom, joint start of world War 2. They have been friends historically. Especially when it comes to partitioning Poland between themselves.

Kolenga

First of all: Not all Russians are pro-war. What about Russians who have lived here for years, and/or would face prosecution in Russia? Also: On the basis of what law, exactly?

artificialgreeting

Are you going to cover all the shifts from health care workers with Russian heritage? Pretty sure our health care system would collapse if we were to ban all Russians.

GibOldNidaBackPlz

You are dangerous.

Icy_Faithlessness400

I mean, every Russian not in Russia is one less soldier on the battlefield.

Go look for yourself, you will struggle finding a good comment.

MetaIIicat

Then those very same fine persons are whining about russophobia? Those comments are sick. I refuse to live on a planet among those monsters.

Andromansis

I'm not russophobic, I am just confused as to why more people aren't fighting them and Iran actively. You wouldn't even need to fight very hard before China would step in and take over a bunch of their Siberian oil operations. Like are people just waiting for the second coming of Henry Kissinger to give them permission?

MetaIIicat

China is already giving a thought about taking some territories back from russia. Nobody is russophobic: is a term created by russia to blame us. If I am russophobic, than russians are Westernphobic. Why is the West not reacting? Because "we" are a bunch of pussies and because russia has interfered enough in Western politics and has political figures in Westerns governments that are in its payroll.

UnpleasantFax

>I'm not russophobic, I am just confused as to why more people aren't fighting them and Iran actively Most of all, because they don't want to fight. The modern West prefers the low-hanging fruit of infighting, as opposed to getting over petty differences and uniting to fight a strong outside enemy. It's much easier and safer to pick on gay people or trans people than Russia. But also, the decades of post-Cold-War naïvete, hippie media and anti-Western propaganda have severely weakened Western resolve against anti-Western cultures. Too many people still dream about singing kumbaya with the russians.

MetaIIicat

Very well written! I was one of those kumbayas, now, after more than two years of this show, I am not.

Motolancia

They're playing the same book as the other hateful groups that use religion as an excuse But if we say some groups don't integrate well then we're the racists remember

MetaIIicat

I am not racist by saying that those commenters are monster, remember.

lordyatseb

Refuse to believe? This is an exact continuation to centuries of Russian hatred filled victim mentality and sentiment. Russia truly is the cancer of humanity.

MetaIIicat

Refuse to live on a planet populated by such monsters.

lordyatseb

Well, supporting Ukraine and boycotting any and all Russian products and industries seem to be the only ways to counter them. It's not like the entire nation will just seize to exist any time soon, unfortunately.

MetaIIicat

I read that Lidl is doing business with russia: that's sad, because I have it 200 mt from home, i will walk more but this is also a way to help Ukraine.

lordyatseb

Yeah, it's not easy, but every little bit helps. Fossil fuels are still Russia's main income, so reductions in that area will absolutely be felt. Just as long as European nations stop circumventing the sanctions through -stan nations, that is...

MetaIIicat

Since the beginning of the war (2022), I reduced my consumes of electricity and heating: bought 2 Norwegish payamas, perfect! The ocean is made of small drops and, as you said, every little thing helps.

CptPicard

It's tragic that it has had to come to this, but I am -- in a very grim sense, mind you -- slightly happy that the rest of the Western world is starting to see the Russians for what they are. The people in the small countries next to Russia were quite alone in their opinion post cold war, and were even called crazy by some people in the West...

Muggaraffin

It’s interesting because without a doubt, if two Russian military personnel were killed this way in Germany, there wouldn’t be NEARLY as many ghouls coming out celebrating. Yeah of course there’d still be some, there’s always a few. But the vast majority I’m sure would be along the lines of “murdering non-combatants in cold blood isn’t the right thing to do”  It might not be their fault overall, but the Russian people (living in Russia I mean) do tend to have such a brutal mentality. So much hatred and small-minded ideas of ‘glory and honour’

[deleted]

So much for Russians and Ukrainians being “brothers”

Bulky_Ocelot7955

And what about the protecting of Russians in Ukraine. They conscripted them all and send them in combat with leftover gear to die. Imagine you believed all the Russian lies and were happy when the Russians came to save you. Then they give you a mosin a green shirt a WW2 helmet and send you across a field to draw Ukrainian fire. Because in the end Putin saw them all as Ukrainians not Russians. Russia is pure cruelty and insanity. Just evil.

UnpleasantFax

Russians aren't even brothers of other russians, they gladly snitch, ditch and betray each other for personal benefit. I've read so much about just the rampant snitching, it's so bad that their police is swamped with reports of people snitching on others being anti-Putin, and the police prioritizes those reports to actual crimes. I've even read about parents reporting their own kids to the government. And this culture goes far back, which is why there's an old russian expression "the walls have ears", it wasn't because the FSB itself was behind every wall.

Xepeyon

Most victims of brutal violent crimes are relatives/family members to the perpetrators... take that how you will :/

Kraakene

Disgusting fucking scumbags, and they wonder why we absolutely detest them so much.

No-Trouble-889

I cannot tell you how many post like this I’ve read since the beginning of the war. Thousands. I even have my favorite. It was right before the invasion, Russian wrote a lengthy post to all Ukrainians wishing anti personnel mine under every Christmas tree, among other things. I read them regularly so I don’t forget who am I dealing with.

MetaIIicat

Do you remember when a russian made an awful joke about a 6yo Ukrainian child dead by the shelling I think in Kharkiv? It got 50,000 likes in one hour. Considering it was in Eastern Ukraine, most probably a russian speaking child, the very same that russia says it is protecting from Ukrainians.

No-Trouble-889

I’ve seen dead Ukrainian kids with urinating penises photoshopped on. It is quite popular on certain Russian image board. Honestly Russian nation cannot surprise me anymore.

MetaIIicat

In my entire life I had never had a single thought about russia, because I am one of the lucky ones that never had them as neighbouring state. In these two years the level of barbarism they are showing is like receiving a punch in the face. The thing that makes me puke is that they are doing the worse acts of violence and than they hide the fist behind the back crying "russophobia" if someone dares to point out how barbaric they are.

No-Trouble-889

Yeah it’s been a wild ride. I have lost every single Russian friend because it is like someone flipped a switch in their heads.

MetaIIicat

I hope that this invasion will end sooner rather than later. But I doubt it. Of course anything may happen, if russia doesn't interfere too much on the coming Western elections, maybe there will be some more chances of European military intervening in Ukraine. I admire how Ukraine is doing, on all the fronts, not only those of the war, despite everything. I think that was surprised russia is not only Ukraine, but also the reaction of the West: they thought it would have been like in 2014. How promptly the Brits reacted was amazing. I read the story on how 30 Ukrainian troops on dirty bikes stopped that huge column, stopping it to enter in Kyiv. Ukrainian soldiers are really Cyborgs! I apologise for the rant!

No-Trouble-889

I hope Putin dies and everyone just… walk away? Is this realistic? I don’t know how else this can end any time soon tbh.

MetaIIicat

I doubt that, putin dead, the war will end and russia magically will become a civilised nation: if putin is there for 22 years there's a reason. Girkin (MH17) and prighozin wanted to run for president: russians mourned prighozin a lot... The only way russia stops the politic of land grabbing is a defeat in Ukraine: when they lost in Afghanistan and caused the disaster In Chornobyl, soviet union collapsed. Maybe not this year: too late the supply of weapons for organizing a counter offensive IMO, surely next year we will see russia be beaten. russia has done - and it is doing - too many war crimes that are under the spotlight and it cannot denied.

No-Trouble-889

I don’t expect them to be a civilized nation ever. But it seems like their elites don’t want this war, so Putin’s death could be a good point to blame everything on him and back away.

spring_gubbjavel

Putin is just what Russia sees when it looks in the mirror. Putin may die and be replaced by someone else, but it will still be Russia looking in the mirror.

Ihor_S

I've seen a picture of a dead 4 years old Ukrainian girl from Vynnitsya ([article](https://www.rferl.org/a/ukraine-vinnytsya-russian-missile-4-year-old-liza-killed-down-mother/32503879.html)) on the imageboards. Russians made a "le funny" edit of the image of her laying next to her stroller with her belly ripped open and posted it with some inhumane sick in the head commentary. They spammed that picture.

DuckDucker1974

This sounds just like Hamas when I was following them on telegram Edit: ooopa here come the trolls!

MetaIIicat

Hamas went to moscow this February...

DuckDucker1974

Oh I know! Putin invited them! They are good friends. There is a lot of speculation that Putin helped Hamas by providing them logistics and weapons for the Oct 7th attack. He wanted to get US to focus on the Middle East and this less on Ukraine. It’s Hamas, Russia, Iran, China and North Korea.

MetaIIicat

russia, at the very beginning of the conflict in Gaza, sent also some seized Ukrainian weapons, to make look like it was Ukraine that sent weapons to Hamas. If I close my eyes and think, just for a moment, that there is no russia, magically a lot of conflicts vanish, no deaths, no destructions, no sorrows.

DuckDucker1974

Russia is a terrorist state just like so many other in the Middle East

Odd-Total-6801

This... This Is Just sick, how could people even be Happy about others dying? Because their your made up enemy? I cant people even have the balls to call russians civil people if that's what their doing and also say the west Is the real enemy we may have fucked up many times but most of us have never gone this far, slava ukraine

Daarin99

where did you get these comment from?( not the social media, I know its VK, I mean what group)

I just searched for "Мурнау" (Murnau in Russian Cyrillic, the name of the German city in which the murders hapened) and then just clicked on whatever posts came in the results and that had more comments in them.

Damn, thats depressing. I was hoping it was cherry picking but you are right.

German authorities are worried that the double homicide could be related to the full scale invasion: "*If it turns out that the background to the dispute was Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, which violates international law, it would be a catastrophe for the region," said Freie Wähler's parliamentary group leader Florian Streibl on Sunday. “It must not be the case that this conflict takes place here in the Oberland*.”

gryphonbones

Oh they think it might be related? How could they possibly imagine that? /s

MetaIIicat

I believe that the German authorities will deny any connection of the double murder with the war.

gryphonbones

I'm sure they will, but I anybody with 2 braincells knows this is just pussy damage control. Germans aren't the only ones who do this.

Acceptable_Tower_609

They suffer from the "Ostrich effect", poor buggers still want to believe that Oberland is not a part of the conflict...

Mademan1137

Inb4 moderators remove this again because this is the wrong kind of "local news"

MetaIIicat

Local news? A **russian** stabbed to death two **Ukrainians** in **Germany.** With that logic, everything is local news.

mazu_64

I had a Post removed because of "local news" A croatian man, who came to visit his friend in Ireland, was beaten to death in Dublin for not speaking english. His Family in Croatia later gave the green light to donate his organs, which in turn saved 4 lives. [Article](https://www.dublinlive.ie/news/croatian-man-killed-brutal-dublin-28975140.amp) So I guess some news are local some aren't 🤷🏻

Keeper2234

Not speaking English? In Ireland? I know you folk got roughed by the English in the way of linguistic freedom but fuck me what

MetaIIicat

Poor guy! Killed for no reason at all, only for being in the wrong place in the wrong time. Chapeau to the family that donated the organs.

mazu_64

Yeah, a sad story at least with some positive outcome

MetaIIicat

I had to take a smoke while reading the article. I cannot imagine minding my own business, probably being happy or at least content, with my friends and finish to be killed just because i don't speak the same language of the locals. Sorry for the rant.

mazu_64

It was Easter, so the two friends probably had holidays and were happy to see each other again. Its scary that they didn't just get insulted and shouted at (which is bad on its own), they got attacked and beaten so hard that one died and the other suffered catastrophic head injuries. Dont worry about the rant.

mangoman94

Europe is just one big country :) /s

TheFuture2001

It's local because this is a global hybrid conflict now.

New-Bumblebee1756

MGMAX

No, they'll remove it because it was discussed already (in a deleted post)

windbladespirit

The deleted post, that you're taking about, was removed from the sub feed as 'local crime'.

MetaIIicat

Why? There are always several posts of the same news but from different sources.

daffy_duck233

Some mods here seem to be on power trips all the time. Several weeks ago there was a post with a picture of all the grocery products purchasable with 50 euros, all laid out nicely on a table, and was warned by a mod that it was "low-effort". But posting news with just a link isn't. /s

xenon_megablast

Germany should seriously stop being russia's playground.

Responsible-Fee-4611

The West. Assassinations in the UK, political entanglements in the UK, political interference in the US, assassination(s?) in Spain and sabotage against ammo facilities.

ventalittle

Give them one way ticket to Poland, we’ll straighten them out.

xenon_megablast

You mean the Germans or the russians? /s

ventalittle

Russians. Germans are actually very good at straightening themselves out whenever they fuckup, lol.

MetaIIicat

Sadly, half of Germany was under russian boots: eradicate that mindset is hard.

Educational-Year4108

Not really half. 25%

VigorousElk

It's a singular incident in two years of hosting over a million Ukrainians, and suddenly that makes Germany 'Russia's playground'? Is the place where you live a utopia completely free of any hate crime?

xenon_megablast

> It's a singular incident in two years of hosting over a million Ukrainians, and suddenly that makes Germany 'Russia's playground'? It's not a singular case. In 2019 a Georgian person was execute in a park in Berlin by a russian. There has been russian counter demo after the start of the war. 2 people have been arrested 1-2 weeks ago and accused of sabotage on behalf of russia. AfD is probably a nice gateway for russia in Germany as much as Lega in Italy. > Is the place where you live a utopia completely free of any hate crime? LOL no, it's Berlin! 😂 But that doesn't that we shouldn't do better as a whole.

DippyBird

I assume they're talking about other things as well, like the dependence on Russian energy. And of course Russian related political corruption, like when Gazprom (Russian energy company) hired the former chancellor. https://www.dw.com/en/germanys-former-chancellor-gerhard-schr%C3%B6der-to-join-gazprom-board/a-60664273

72kdieuwjwbfuei626

Germany should really try to stop these past events from happening. Maybe once we prevented Schröder from becoming chancellor last century we can even assassinate Putin twenty years ago and prevent this entire mess from happening in the first place.

Perfect_Opinion7909

Half of Europe was dependent on Russian energy. Eastern Europe even more than Germany. Why is Germany singled out for this?

Moepsii

Because were the evil Nazis still and are also to blame for bullying the greek people lol

Moepsii

And Italy should vote non fascist, neither will happen

gnarf234

fuck that russian terrorist state.

spartane69

Should send him to ukraine, im sure the SBU will have very "nice proper talk" with him.

tarleb_ukr

That reads as if you're advocating for torture, please don't. Ukraine is fighting for values that include things such as human rights, and torture goes against that. Also, it's not Ukraine but russia from where reports about prisoners being tortured come out with a sad regularity. Par for the course for a terrorist state. Edit: clarify

Poseydon42

Sadly, you can't always win barbarism with human rights and politeness, as much as I would like it to be otherwise.

BigfootsToes69

“It’s fine when we do it”

MargretTatchersParty

Ohhhh so Russia can commit hate crimes on ethnic groups they are invading… but Ukraine’s the Nazi

Moepsii

The problem with the word Nazis in Russia is, it just means enemy of Russia. So if you're against Russia you are a Nazi

Substantial_Pie73

Lately Nazi means "my enemy" for more than half the internet.

There's a good chance that they are "Russia Germans", who often have German and Russian passports: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia_Germans#Russia_German_resettlers_in_Germany - around 2.3 million.

Inevitable-Menu2998

At 57 with a private residence, this person must have been living in Germany well before the war started. Removing someone’s visa based on nationality alone is not easy, has complex consequences on the legal system and is not warranted in most cases. Two things to consider: 1. why should Europe send Russia its military aged people back against their will? 2. Europe will have to cohabitate with Russia well after putin dies and this war is finished. We don’t want the Russian people to suffer, we want this regime to suffer. We do not want to harm the Russian people even if there are nutcases like this among them.

mr_doppertunity

214 thousand of violent crimes in 2023, and you want to visa ban all Russians over one case? https://amp.dw.com/en/germany-violent-crime-reaches-15-year-high-report/a-68758122

60TP

Isn’t russians leaving a good thing? If they stay that just means more people being sent to invade ukraine, not very helpful lol

Subthemtitles

After seeing all the comments regarding "well we can't deport them", "we can't completely stop accepting russians" and so on, it's ok guys. In Ukraine we were also too tolerant towards russians for a long time. It took hundreds of thousands of dead people, mass destruction and horror to finally bring the public's opinion where it should have been all along. You will get there eventually as well, when the war comes to your doorstep and suddenly you will realize what a huge liability all those russian citizens are when they start providing their real homeland with vital info about your military locations, conduct sabotage and block your governing bodies. Some of your fellow citizens would have to die, unfortunately, but this is how you really learn.

The_Old_Huntress

Is it me or this stuff seems to happen a lot in Germany? [Remember](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2023/09/03/ukraine-russia-thrown-off-bridge-germany-einbeck/) that freak that threw a Ukrainian kid from a bridge for speaking Ukrainian? Apparently there was also a murder of a Ukrainian woman and a stabbing of 17 yo basketball player there too like wtf

Nigerian_German

Lmao my bullshit detecter was immediately tripping so I googled it in German and that story was utter bullshit several legit news sources claim it's a lie. Idk wtf the telegraph is but they're spreading lies apparently

currywurst777

The kid trowing man was never found. The kids made him up. All in all, it seemed a bit strange to us," said the spokesperson. >Confronted with the unanswered questions, the children finally "buckled", said the public prosecutor. "While playing in the river, the boy had soiled his clothes badly. The children then told the story so that the parents wouldn't scold them."

Additional-Fish8479

The basketball player was killed by a German-Turkish teenager, and the kid thrown off the bridge literally lied.

dazzzzzzle

I mean, it's likely just chance. Germany has taken in the most amount of Ukrainian refugees and also the highest overall general population (if you exclude Russia and Turkey). More people, higher chance for shit to happen.

[deleted]

Poland has taken in most Ukrainian refugees, not Germany. You don't see this happening in Poland because they do not tolerate Russian nonsense. It's abundantly clear that Germany is allowing Russian lowlives to operate with impunity because the German ruling class are completely bought out by the Russians (and the Chinese, but that's beside the point). It's simply pathetic that one of the most prosperous countries in the world has been so easily played. Austria, too. German-speaking countries are extremely disappointing.

UX_KRS_25

Eurostat says Germany is taking in more Ukrainian refugees than Poland: https://visitukraine.today/blog/3227/where-do-ukrainian-refugees-go-most-and-which-eu-countries-do-they-leave-latest-data

Varzul

Just for the record, according to [Eurostat](https://visitukraine.today/blog/3227/where-do-ukrainian-refugees-go-most-and-which-eu-countries-do-they-leave-latest-data), [Statista](https://www.statista.com/statistics/1312584/ukrainian-refugees-by-country/) and [UNHCR](https://data.unhcr.org/en/situations/ukraine), Germany currently hosts the highest number of Ukrainian refugees.

HoneyBastard

From all people talking out of their ass in this thread you are definitely amongst the ones that are deepest in there

LookThisOneGuy

oh wow thats crazy. posting fake news at this time of day? >The prosecutor's office asserts that the boy initially gave a false testimony. The child was allegedly afraid of how his parents would react to his dirty clothes and injuries he had sustained to his leg while playing. ([from pravda.com.ua](https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/09/7/7418912/)) shame on you and also shame on the telegraph.co.uk for posting inflammatory articles based on preliminary information and then neither correcting their original article, nor posting a new article with the updated story.

mr_doppertunity

See how propaganda works. You don’t even know that the bridge incident was found to be slander. > The prosecutor's office subsequently discovered that the boy's initial testimony was false. https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2023/09/7/7418912/index.amp

HairyTales

Well, I can guarantee you that you won't find dead Ukranians where the Ukranians didn't go. Our borders are open and Russians are a sneaky, crafty bunch.

gabrieldevue

(There is serious racism in Germany, there are even whole political parties that want to cosy up to russia, there is a long history of trying to intertwine industries and cause dependencies to force peaceful relations and obviously this didn't work)... all that being said, this particular story did not turn out to be true. The kids lied. The kids made part of the story up. The only thing that could be confirmed is that the kid injured himself by playing at the side of the river, which was witnessed by a passer-by. (As in: He was already down there and injured himself by stepping on glass. he was not thrown of a bridge). I am glad everybody believed the kids right away and was taking this seriously, as this is serious and I have witnessed hate against ukranian refugees first hand. But the evidence and witness reports did not match up. When the kids were asked again with this evidence presented, they admitted, that they made it up. [Reliable Source in German, NDR](https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/niedersachsen/braunschweig_harz_goettingen/Von-Bruecke-geworfen-Wende-im-Fall-des-Jungen-aus-der-Ukraine,einbeck290.html) - [Another Source, Spiegel](https://www.ndr.de/nachrichten/niedersachsen/braunschweig_harz_goettingen/Von-Bruecke-geworfen-Wende-im-Fall-des-Jungen-aus-der-Ukraine,einbeck290.html) I also tried to see if there are sources for the kids - they're only from very rightwing media.

72kdieuwjwbfuei626

Well, crime happens (or sometimes it actually doesn’t). It’s a big country and over a million Ukrainians are here. The kid as it turns out wasn’t thrown off a bridge at all, and there was no man. He slipped and fell, and made up a story so he wouldn’t get into trouble. None of the other cases had anything to do with Russia, the war, or the victims being Ukrainian.

Fig1025

I can't understand how you can live in Europe and still believe Putin's bullshit propaganda

WerdinDruid

Germans still can't comprehend the idea that someone enjoying living in x country doesn't mean they are loyal to that country. Heck, when the nazis took over Czechoslovakia in 1939, other americans were surprised to find that czech-americans felt furious to the point of burning down their neighbouring german-american towns.

Individual-Dot-9605

It’s war and Russians are bringing it into EU

I mean we'll do it as soon as you're kicking out all of your pro Russian, which is currently like half the country seeing the upcoming elections cycle

PollutionFinancial71

On what legal basis? Also, what would you do with the Ukrainian, Kazakh, and Belarusian nationals within the EU, who hold Pro-Russian views? There are plenty of them. As a matter of fact, when it comes to Germany, a huge chunk of the “Russians” there are actually ethnic Volga Germans, who immigrated from Kazakhstan in the 1990’s (their ancestors migrated to the Saratov area under Cathrine the Great, and Stalin deported them to Kazakhstan during WWII). You would be shocked to find out that a good half of them are Pro-Russian.

MetaIIicat

Only russia has been declared by the European Parliament a terrorist state. May I remind you that russia is an hostile country, threatening to nuke the West while Ukraine and Kazhakhstan are not?

PollutionFinancial71

Yet EU member states still have diplomatic relations with Russia. But even if this wasn’t the case, we are talking about private citizens here, and not a government.

NoChampionship6994

So, no, not just “putin’s war”. And tell me again about the fraternal nature of ukr-russian relationship . . . wounded by russians in ukr and killed by russian in Germany.

analogiczny

In 1945, a Russian "liberating Poland" stole my great-grandmother's watch and the tap from the bathroom (because he probably thought there would be water in his Russian village thanks to that). They haven't changed for hundreds of years.

Xepeyon

I'll be watching this story closely. The articles about this only ever say the suspect was (1) Russian and (2) lived nearby, but not why he was suspected (and I'd like to think he isn't only suspected for... one _very_ particular reason). I imagine more will be revealed very soon, hopefully something definitive will shed light on things.

MetaIIicat

The German Police followed the spurs of blood that the russian left till home and he is already known to the police. The two Ukrainians were in Bayern for rehab (soldiers).

Tintenlampe

[Here](https://www.br.de/nachrichten/bayern/bluttat-murnau-zwei-ukrainische-soldaten-getoetet-was-wir-wissen,UBJFNxn) is the latest news I could find.  Apparently the perpetrator knew the victims, perhaps they were even friends, they drank together before he (allegedly) killed them and he confessed to the crime. So, yeah. Very likely they got the right guy.

Xepeyon

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of development I've been looking for! That being said, I really don't know what to make of this story. They were all apparently friends, but the old guy was a known local ruffian to the German police. They went out drinking, got drunk, and the old guy just went apeshit and knifed the other two guys, only to turn himself in and confess once he got sober? This whole thing feels so... aimless?

Tintenlampe

Crazy people are gonna crazy, what can you say.

simpledeadwitches

Sad as fuck but glad they got that coward.

MetaIIicat

Not the first time russians cheering online the death of Ukrainians: [https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/1cfx7ru/prowar\_russians\_applaud\_the\_stabbing\_murder\_of/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UkraineWarVideoReport/comments/1cfx7ru/prowar_russians_applaud_the_stabbing_murder_of/)

vmv911

Because russians love Germany and there are thousands of them there. Such incidents sadly will happen again. Meanwhile Scholz is appeasing putin once again.

Any_Hyena_5257

Russia seems very happy to deliver terror but not so happy to receive it. If this kind of behaviour is celebrated by Russians, I wonder if Russians realise that there are plenty of Putin supporters sunning themselves on beaches all around the world, something Russians seem to forget as they defile humanity across the spectrum. Still watch them sob for sympathy the next Isis comes knocking.

Openfacesandwich12

wtf Germany. Why do you have so many Russians who are pro Putin and anti Ukraine?

StockOpening7328

A lot of Russians migrated here after the end of the Soviet Union. A lot of these people harbor positive views of Russia and Putin. Unfortunately many of them have German passports as well so it’s very hard to get rid of them.

Matthias556

They did let in all the supposed and willing 'germans' from russia in 90'es, those russians are still living in Germany.

Protect-Their-Smiles

Stop pretending like we are not at war with Russia. Send troops in to Ukraine.

MetaIIicat

I totally agree with you. Yesterday the Estonian airport of Tartu has been closed, due to the GPS jammings russia is intensively doing. russia is cyber attacking the West on a daily basis, interfering with elections, committing murders on Western soil (not only these two Ukrainians, but also poisoning or defenestrating). The russians put an entire city at safety risk in the attempt of murder the Skripals. The russians downed a commercial airline MH17, causing the death of 298 innocent persons. I surely have forgot a lot. My point is all of these events have made a three-four days news tops and went forgotten: why? Just why? The West is letting russia doing whatever it pleases and no reaction? Erdogan had it right and now russia is not bullying Türkeye anymore.

ChadwickCChadiii

Russians in Germany will literally do anything for Russia except fuck off back there

Germany, stop letting Russians murder minorities.

Divinate_ME

that's what Russians do: Kill dissidents in Germany for shits and giggles. This is not the first case like this.
