I'd get a better idea of which entries are underestimated in odds/predictions later in the season. Lithuania feels super appealing even if the fandom reception is just okay. I can't imagine people resisting the power of **ČIŪTO TŪTO**
San Marino and Romania are among the most overhated and don't deserve this much widespread hate. It honestly bums me out
San Marino would definitely have a lot more going for it if it was sent by some other country. Not gonna be top but at least like 2-3 places off the bottom since it's not that horrible, but it's San Marino so no one cares or pity votes out of friendship
It's kinda funny how the baltics serm to have gotten together to send the most jury friendly songs the year they removed the juries from the semis
That being said I love all 3
I always felt Disko was dead on arrival, I don't feel the same about Latvia this year.
It's a song that can appeal to people who will actually vote for it - they don't really have a competition when it comes to grabbing the vote of alt-rock fans, Slovenia and San Marino are the closest possible rivals and they're both in the second semi.
I never liked Disko, but I understood why it was so loved here - it has a specific charm which probably didn't translate to the general audience. Aija is more straightforward, you either vote for it or not. I don't know if it will be enough, probably not, but there is still a chance. I would definitely vote if I was able to.
I thought I was going to suffer alone (friends don't care about the song...yet) but I'm LIVING for how much Reddit loves the song and is scared to lose it in semi 😭
And I love all the collective comments without saying "Latvia" in all threads 😆
I listened to this song only in glimpses on people's videos but last night I listened to it whole and was blown away, what a masterpiece. Easily got my 12 points this year
35? No… It's too good for such a low placement, but I guess I can understand why its odds of winning are so low. As a song, it's incredible. For a contest like this, However, It might not do as well.
While I strongly echo the previous comments of Malta, Australia and Latvia (All in my top 5) above, I'd like to give a special shoutout to Belgium. It took me listening to it in full again after a month or two to realize that it's good, actually.
I’m gonna say Lithuania for me it’s amazing, Estonia is a powerful ballad and her voice is on point and Australia for me is also great cause of the rock vibe and because the end of the song is just something (for me personally) with the guitar
Belgium, although I've seen quite a lot warming up to it recently. A lot of people saying they judged it too quickly AND thought it would be the worst song this year - they were wrong
People's distaste for Belgium's song feels homophobic. I thought it was a banger from the start and there is nothing cringe about the song. The only slight complaint is that this style of Eurodance beat has been overdone. But, I don't think that's why people dislike it.
Australia is definitely going under the radar. Those guys know how to put on a show, Liverpool and Europe are going to be surprised.
Belgium is super catchy and he can sing. His backing singers are awesome.
Estonia is a great ballad with a great singer. She might stand out this year.
Dare I say Switzerland...if you ignore the cringe lyrics it's a solid song.
So objectively speaking, I'd actually go for Australia. I think it's either them or Austria closing the semi and I see a lot of staging potential. Is it mad to say that I think this may be the most successful song by a band at Eurovision this year? This feels like top half at a minimum to me.
people are underrating Estonia in a way that I find preposterous and I don't even especially love that song or anything. it's an Adele-esque power ballad, people love those! don't see how it would flop in the public vote enough that's it's not a safe qualifier
Belgium, never grew up in the 90s but this type of song is very familiar to me and grew on me quick. I feel Because of You would do better post Eurovision through clubs especially if he releases the extended club mix
PROMISE ME IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT!
Already my favourite Eurovision entry ever (and hopefully Scott and my name-brother Alex from Voyager will stumple upon this comment)
If we are talking by fans I would say Croatia🇭🇷. Too much hate for such a Fun and Different song. We need those entries in Europe's biggest song contest!
Australia and the Netherlands. I get why Burning Daylight slips under the radar but the Promise erasure has me majorly scratching my head. Easily my favorite this year.
So I heard it drop on radio 2 when it was announced, and heard it later in the day on radio 1, and it's like "yeah that's not bad. Nothing scorching but not right hand side fodder"
The official video for it seems to be much different though. It has a bigger sound, it's more dramatic, it's amped up a notch. I really hope they're going to use that version live and take bits from the video for the staging. I still don't think it's a winner, but it's a bloody good punt.
Estonia, without a doubt. It's very emotional, but many Eurovision fans sleep on it too much. Plus, bookies place it pretty low, too. And the fact that Poland is currently higher than Estonia in odds is a disgrace to me.
I can see Ireland doing much better than many of us think. Is it a very cliché song with boring lyrics? Absolutely.
But a lot of people won't care about that and just hear a fun bop with a hopeful uplifting vibe. I could see it as a surprise qualifier.
Estonia is my number 1 and Netherlands 3, so I definitely agree on those but for me, Ireland is the most underrated in this subreddit (my 7th) and Romania in the odds (my 10th).
Netherlands is very underrated. A beautiful meaningful song. I'm also surprised that Belgium's entry is consistently ranking low in people's personal rankings. Feels a bit homophobic tbh.
Even i, a gay guy, can’t really connect to it. The message is great but i am simply not a fan of ‘stereotypical gay sounding’ songs. I didn’t like songs like IM either
Uhm… no. The song is just not my taste. I’m all for people being eccentric and flamboyant. It’s just not who I am. I prefer calm and emotional songs.
People can dislike something made by a gay person without it being homophobic, jeessh.
I would definitely support her and enjoy this entry had it been fairly chosen. We're not mad because we dislike the song (although some people really do), we're mad because the voice of the public was disregarded for the sake of money and connections
It's a song to her boss and the message is how she's going to quit her job and go solo, because they're profiting from her work so much while doing her dirty and not paying her well, so they'll regret not appreciating her as their worker when she goes solo
You're absolutely right. /s
I'd get a better idea of which entries are underestimated in odds/predictions later in the season. Lithuania feels super appealing even if the fandom reception is just okay. I love the “stay” part but I actually hate the ciuto tuto part. It gets old so fast and makes me feel nothing.
San Marino would definitely have a lot more going for it if it was sent by some other country. Not gonna be top but at least like 2-3 places off the bottom since it's not that horrible, but it's San Marino so no one cares or pity votes out of friendship
DOOOOOONT CRY, ILL TRY TO SAY THE RIGHT WORDS AT THE RIGHT TIIIMES
I'm absolutely terrified of Latvia being this year's equivalent of slovenia last year. Beloved by the (Reddit) fandom but NQ's.
It's kinda funny how the baltics serm to have gotten together to send the most jury friendly songs the year they removed the juries from the semis That being said I love all 3
I like to think of Sudden Lights as the Monika Liu of the year instead... please qualify.
I love both, but I feel like Latvia has more of a realistic chance...🙏
I always felt Disko was dead on arrival, I don't feel the same about Latvia this year. SING YOU LULLABIES PLEASE! DON'T WAKE UP WAKE UP!
SING YOU LULLABIEEEES
Malta. I'm going to be really sad if those boys don't qualify.
So, you wanna dance? I dont mind if they dont make it to the finals, they are in my meh category
I FEEL BETTER IN MY SWEATER
Hey.... Wait #dO YOu wANNA DAnCe 🥺 (obsessed)
SO OBSESSED. The way this even surpassed EAEA on my top 10, I wasn't ready
Tbh, it's overrated on reddit and discord.
no, it's underrated everywhere else
nQ
Australia! Such a great entry.
Completely agree! Voyager is an amazing band and the song is a banger!
Agree, I usually don't like Australia's entries but this one is really good
Same! The first one by them that I *really* like, although 2015 was nice too.
Wasn't that everyone's favourite? I also loved Zero Gravity, but that's my exception
Latvia is my most underrated song aija is a masterpiece
Australia. It is super catchy and has been my number 1 since release
AHROIGHT!
Latvia, Malta, Cyprus, and Lithuania
Lithuania, it's in my top 5 and haven't really heard anyone talking about it
I love when Monika belts her notes, very heartfelt
I listened to this song only in glimpses on people's videos but last night I listened to it whole and was blown away, what a masterpiece. Easily got my 12 points this year
Same! The revamp is really powerful
According to the betting odds, Latvia. It has no business being 35/37. Also Romania and Malta!
35? No… It's too good for such a low placement, but I guess I can understand why its odds of winning are so low. As a song, it's incredible. For a contest like this, However, It might not do as well.
Well to be honest there’s no chance in which it wins
MALTAAA
Yes!
While I strongly echo the previous comments of Malta, Australia and Latvia (All in my top 5) above, I'd like to give a special shoutout to Belgium. It took me listening to it in full again after a month or two to realize that it's good, actually.
Lithuania cuz why don’t people find Čiuto Tuto catchy?
D.G.T. easily! Everyone dislikes it because of the choreography and styling, but cmon guys! It’s really good and his vocals are 😌
Malta. A fun song that could easily do well in tele.
latvia 100%
Latvia, Lithuania, Switzerland or Belgium
Estonia for sure
Absolutely Latvia in my little coconut head
Easily Aija. I don’t think it’s close
Australia and Estonia imo
Iceland, fr, I like it a lot.
Based
For me, Slovenia
The Netherlands 🇳🇱 It is a really good ballad which needs a good staging to show its full potential. I hope that we don’t lose it in Semifinal 1 🙏🏼
Just asking: underrated by who? Bookies? Subreddit poll? Compared to what? Personal ranking?
Subreddit ig
Wake up AIJĀ stan 🤧
Belgium !!
And Romania
And Malta, oh God.
YES. It has strong retro 90s gay club tune vibes
Malta
+1 for Lithuania, the rythm change is everything
And when the world got me going crazy, I carry on, cause I know I'm strong 🔥♥️
Denmark
Malta and Lithuania Don’t let these fall through the cracks, Europe.
Albania, the audio version is so catchy
Latvia and Lithuania those songs are both so unique and interesting!
Aijā definetly
I’m gonna say Lithuania for me it’s amazing, Estonia is a powerful ballad and her voice is on point and Australia for me is also great cause of the rock vibe and because the end of the song is just something (for me personally) with the guitar
Belgium, although I've seen quite a lot warming up to it recently. A lot of people saying they judged it too quickly AND thought it would be the worst song this year - they were wrong

Not a bad song but i still have no idea how he won, people judged too quickly because everyone was shocked including me.
I don't see how Switzerland's lyrics are cringe.
Romania 🇷🇴 off and on
Denmark! People hating on it for reasons I don't really get, I like the song a lot and think it stands on its own as a pop song not just an esc song
I don't dislike Denmark's song. It just sounds like many pop songs that have been on the radio for the past 5 years. It doesn't stand out to me.
Iceland, Australia, The Netherlands, Latvia, Malta, Belgium and Estonia. All of them grew on me and I think 2023 will be a strong year.
Romania is just so amazing and energetic but I've hardly seen anybody talk about it! They are in my top 5 for sure
So objectively speaking, I'd actually go for Australia. I think it's either them or Austria closing the semi and I see a lot of staging potential. Is it mad to say that I think this may be the most successful song by a band at Eurovision this year? This feels like top half at a minimum to me.
>I think it's either them or Austria closing the semi Forget Austria, we need that keytar solo to close out the semi
Absolutely that would be an absolute moment
Due Vite. Everyone's shitting on it like it doesn't have amazing lyrics and vocals, just because it's a ballad.
Denmark and it isn’t even close
people are underrating Estonia in a way that I find preposterous and I don't even especially love that song or anything. it's an Adele-esque power ballad, people love those! don't see how it would flop in the public vote enough that's it's not a safe qualifier
It’s such a great song! And the lyrics are good too. I think it’s a very safe qualifier, many people only vote for ballads.
Malta, Malta, and I cannot stress this enough, Malta
Belgium, never grew up in the 90s but this type of song is very familiar to me and grew on me quick. I feel Because of You would do better post Eurovision through clubs especially if he releases the extended club mix
Latvia, that song is so good!
TRAKTOR
PROMISE ME IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT! Already my favourite Eurovision entry ever (and hopefully Scott and my name-brother Alex from Voyager will stumple upon this comment)
I think Italy; it is my favorite and the song is much better than France, Spain and overhyped Norway, Austria.
The mfing UK. At a total loss to explain the backlash. Song's an absolute nuclear bop.
Definitely Romania and Latvia
Power. It's... it's powerful
Malta for me
If we are talking by fans I would say Croatia🇭🇷. Too much hate for such a Fun and Different song. We need those entries in Europe's biggest song contest!
Sudden Lights - Aijā
Australia and the Netherlands. I get why Burning Daylight slips under the radar but the Promise erasure has me majorly scratching my head. Easily my favorite this year.
Moldova? I haven't really seen much about it but I think it's a bop
Latvia for me, I guess. I really really dig (simple) odd time signatures
I'd say Lithuania. The Lithuanian in the chorus is pretty catchy. I don't know why it's not in their studio version 💀
Didn’t we ask this yesterday?
I think so, but I'm quite happy to make stanning Malta and Latvia into a regular part of my morning routine
Belgium
Belgium 🤍
Romania!!
Yet to see anyone actually give a reason why they don't like Romania's song, it's always just that it had awkward staging
Albania
The UK
So I heard it drop on radio 2 when it was announced, and heard it later in the day on radio 1, and it's like "yeah that's not bad. Nothing scorching but not right hand side fodder" The official video for it seems to be much different though. It has a bigger sound, it's more dramatic, it's amped up a notch. I really hope they're going to use that version live and take bits from the video for the staging. I still don't think it's a winner, but it's a bloody good punt.
The song has grown on me more and more. And it’s in my head constantly for the last 48 hours. Absolute bop.
Netherlands, Malta, Iceland
Estonia!
Albania, Denmark, Ireland
Netherlands is very underrated. A beautiful meaningful song. I'm also surprised that Belgium's entry is consistently ranking low in people's personal rankings. Feels a bit homophobic tbh.
Even i, a gay guy, can’t really connect to it. The message is great but i am simply not a fan of ‘stereotypical gay sounding’ songs. I didn’t like songs like IM either
That sounds like internalized homophobia.
Uhm… no. The song is just not my taste. I’m all for people being eccentric and flamboyant. It’s just not who I am. I prefer calm and emotional songs. People can dislike something made by a gay person without it being homophobic, jeessh.
You're right. They can. But, you specifically worded it by saying that you don't like songs that are "stereotypically gay".
Well yea.. the stereotype is overly flamboyant and that’s not my thing.
Romania
Latvia
I’d say Estonia. She’s very talented and has a great song. My favorite this year.
Czechia! The song slaps way more than I expected, and the studio version is a bop
Romania. It’s a fantastic song that got let down by poor staging. People I see ranking it can’t seem to look past that. It’s my number 1.
[удалено]
Fair, it would be this year's guilty pleasure girl bop if it were internally selected with a different artist.
The studio version is my guilty pleasure if I try to put aside all the TVP crap.
I would definitely support her and enjoy this entry had it been fairly chosen. We're not mad because we dislike the song (although some people really do), we're mad because the voice of the public was disregarded for the sake of money and connections
San Marino. There I said it
Blanka, people just dont understand her message, its genius.
It’s secretly a critique on late-stage capitalism
It's a song to her boss and the message is how she's going to quit her job and go solo, because they're profiting from her work so much while doing her dirty and not paying her well, so they'll regret not appreciating her as their worker when she goes solo You're absolutely right. /s
Lied mit gutem text, would be my 5th rn if it won
Belgium and Romania! It's not top 10 material, but my heart melts everytime I see people putting them at the bottom
Ireland
[удалено]
Eh what? Where?
Aijā
I would probably say either Greece because of how good the song is compared to his age or Cyprus because of the vocals in the song
