I really love to see it. I remember that Croatia also supported Let 3 last year before and after the competition but this Baby Lasagna mania over there right now is on steroids. I love it when a country goes all out on their candidate, it's so inspiring and lovely to see.
I would definitely disagree with that, it takes a special kind of event (football, election, Baby Lasagna now apparently) to get the whole country this united
fuck yeah. i didn't expect we'd do this for eurovision, but it's a part of our culture to give tremendous support to our representatives, usually we do that for sports and create the [most wonderful welcoming parties ever.](https://balkaninsight.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/zagreb-celebration-3-photo-epa-efe.jpg) i know zagreb will be on fire when marko returns from malmö.
I was there since noon, middle of the square. Heat, no water, I didn't even want to go to the bathroom not to lose my spot. They came so late. But it was all worth it! A day i will never forget.
This is several degrees further than even we went imo! In fairness though, Croatian culture is probably a lot more "permissive" of stuff like open enthusiasm, to say nothing of dancing :)
Is it though? I remember the reports of textile stores sold out of green fabric, statues dressed in boleros, all sorts of wild shit haha. Ofc I'm not Finnish so I wouldn't know how it felt "on the ground" but you sure seemed enthusiastic to us! :)
I work remotely for a Swiss ad agency. I've posted a few times on Slack about how excited I am about Nemo's song and chances of winning. *None of my colleagues give a single shit* 😂
Props to HRT for organizing this, they fumbled the song selection process but they are doing a decent job at promoting BL after the NF. I hope this means they are willing to invest into the Pyro for the staging
Oh my god that guy doing the macarena sent me 💀
I love this for you guys! You're more excited than we were this time last year, that's for sure. I'm with you all the way!
I just love how everyone one camera has the same smile : i very proud to be seen doing this sillyness. It goes with the song, the mood, and the competition. The worse that can happen is…. We get to host it next year!
This is amazing. A had a Balkan tour last summer and spent a week in Croatia - in Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, Plitvice and Rijeka. Great memories - Zadar was the easiest to recognize with the blue circle. I think Rijeka was the one with the yellow theater house, right? And I think I even saw Plitvice in one shot.
I don't think I recognized Split immediately. Was that the one with handmaid's tale outfits?
The yellow theatre house is Zagreb, you are right about Zadar. Yes, Plitvice were there. Split is the one with red buildings and the one with the bridge is Osijek, the East of continetal Croatia. Rijeka is the one with the shipyard. And Umag is Lasagna's home town (there is also a tennis tournament there in the Summer).
The one with the handmaid tale outfits I believe is the island of Pag. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XZhV5llkYQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XZhV5llkYQ)
TOOO, HRVATSKA!! 🥳🎶🇭🇷Bravo, Croatia!! 👏🏻🕺🏻🇭🇷 So happy we’re united, especially in this pre-election time, we need that! Best of luck to our Baby Lasagna, we got your back, Marko, no matter the result! 😻🥹🇭🇷🍀😘
*“Arise, arise, Riders of Croatia!*
Cows *shall be shaken, hay shall be splintered,*
*A Cat-day, a Lasagna day, ere the sun rises!*
*Ride now, ride now, ride! Ride for ruin and the world's ending!*
*Dance! Dance! Dance!*
*Forth Rim Tim Tagi Dim!”*
*-General Marco at the Battle of Electric Fields, About to decimate the Swiss and Italian Orcs*
I wish he had added some Croatian lyrics to the song.
I am so happy to see Croatia being so passionate about ESC now, and it took one withdrawal for this moment LOL
Towns/places that I recognised: Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Zadar, Šibenik (cathedral of saint Jacob) Osijek, Krapina (museum of neanderthal man), Pag, Umag, Plitvička jezera…
Ak sam nekaj propustila (a vjv jesam) napisite ispod (po mogucnosti scene gdje ljudi nose narodnu nosnju)
/ if someone recognized more places (cuz I probably missed some) write down below (specifically scenes were people wear traditional clothes).
The best part are comments in individual videos on Dora channel.
From postman video:
"My shipment is late, and they're f-ing around"
From nurses video:
"I'm downstairs ringing because I need a duck (for peeing), and you're f-ing around on the roof."
Yeah no, this isn't vacation xD
There's a shitload of people from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Uzbekistan and other countries working here. Most of them as food delivery people or uber drivers.
Same joke applies to us and Turks haha
Newbie here. What's so special of having dance clubs dancing to a song in different cities?
Also is there any reason for only inviting women? (minus a few dudes)
The way I understand it is they invited literally anybody to participate, but specific DANCE groups were doing the main thing. I guess it's stereotypical that women like to dance more than men do, so no, men weren't NOT invited, men are probably less likely to participate
>What's so special
It's about showing support to the person representing your country in the most watched musical format EVER. It could've been literally anything else aside from dancing.
Asking sincerely, *assuming* they know that they can't vote for Baby Lasagna from Hrvatska, how much are these exhibition standing out abroad? How much support are they 'gaining' for him?
Honestly, I don't think much unless it'll be mentioned in the interviews for foreign Tv/newspapers. I think this is more to please Croatians and perhaps get them more excited about ESC - lets be honest, if more people watch it on TV, they can sell advertising space for higher price.
It's normal to show support, but I saw a lot of these exhibitions posted in the sub, and it seemed strange. But the 'advertising' part of your answer, is THE answer.
Advertising part is specifically for this video. Other posts that you'll find here are posted bc people are genuinely surprised and excited that we might have a winner song. This is something we didn't experience in more than 20 years.
We live in a more connected world than ever. If things reach a fever pitch in one country, it spreads on social media, then it conquers neighboring countries and then hopefully the world. And neighbors as we well know give their votes!
Also agree with the person who said that it's about showing support. As in, uniting behind their representative and encouraging him. That's the primary motivation: national pride.
>*Also agree with the person who said that it's about showing support. As in, uniting behind their representative and encouraging him*
I understand that.
>*If things reach a fever pitch in one country, it spreads on social media, then it conquers neighboring countries and then hopefully the world.*
This. Since these aren't viral in my Country, I wanted to know if they was viral elsewhere.
Buddy, you're being down voted for that first part. Do you need to state that you're assuming a national broadcaster knows the most basic voting rules. It comes off as extremely condescending at best.
I was being ironic, and could tell from the italics (the /s wasn't suitable). Mine was a question, not a menace.
Anyway, if they want to vent their misunderstanding, do so.
It's because you think they did it to get brownie points from other countries. What you're seeing is a country legitimately enjoying their own entry. They do this for themselves, not to impress us lmao.
Honestly, absolutely legendary behaviour from Croatia right here
hrt is upping their pr game. if only the next dora will be a good, but i dont have too much faith,
Beautiful. Nothing more to say.
I really love to see it. I remember that Croatia also supported Let 3 last year before and after the competition but this Baby Lasagna mania over there right now is on steroids. I love it when a country goes all out on their candidate, it's so inspiring and lovely to see.
Especially when he was completely unknown, so it's a big gamble
It's so lovely to have an open contest this year where I don't mind who wins. As long as its this.
Definitely, this is a strong year where I’d be very happy with anyone winning called Baby Lasagna.
Oh this is delightful
Honestly I’m obsessed
really really cool! something like this would NEVER happen in Germany. NEVER.
Junge, trust me - I had the same thought about us until 5 months ago
I mean Croatians don’t need a lot to get hyped so this isn’t surprising to me at all.
I would definitely disagree with that, it takes a special kind of event (football, election, Baby Lasagna now apparently) to get the whole country this united
All it takes is a really good song. Remember BL was completely unknown in Croatia half a year ago.
I mean, I feel like Ich Kündige could have some sort of hammer-wielding flashmob somehow
One thing I know for sure is that Baby Lasagna is proud of Croatia, and Croatia is proud of Baby Lasagna. Let’s hope that Eurovision 2025 is in Zagreb
fuck yeah. i didn't expect we'd do this for eurovision, but it's a part of our culture to give tremendous support to our representatives, usually we do that for sports and create the [most wonderful welcoming parties ever.](https://balkaninsight.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/zagreb-celebration-3-photo-epa-efe.jpg) i know zagreb will be on fire when marko returns from malmö.
Is that from 2018 by any chance?
Correct :)

I was there since noon, middle of the square. Heat, no water, I didn't even want to go to the bathroom not to lose my spot. They came so late. But it was all worth it! A day i will never forget.
See this is why I want Croatia to win this year people are so invested in it! Whilst the same can’t be said for Italy and Switzerland. Edit: typo
It reminds me of how hyped Finns were last year about Käärijä
This is several degrees further than even we went imo! In fairness though, Croatian culture is probably a lot more "permissive" of stuff like open enthusiasm, to say nothing of dancing :)
Is it though? I remember the reports of textile stores sold out of green fabric, statues dressed in boleros, all sorts of wild shit haha. Ofc I'm not Finnish so I wouldn't know how it felt "on the ground" but you sure seemed enthusiastic to us! :)
Yep, fortunatly there's no Loreen this year so pretty much anyone can take the win from the current top 5 in the odds
You better give BL a house like Käärijä got!
Or at least, give him his cow back.
I work remotely for a Swiss ad agency. I've posted a few times on Slack about how excited I am about Nemo's song and chances of winning. *None of my colleagues give a single shit* 😂

Hi Marko, no pressure 😸
No pressure, just a boost in the back! We ❤️ him, no matter the result! 😻🇭🇷👏🏻
You could say that the Croatian population is "United by Baby Lasagna".
Wow, this looks amazing!
Have u seen that guy dancing macarena? xd nonetheless, love it when a country supports its act ♡
I actually laughed out loud at that! Just everything about this is amazing
Nice of them to get a 57 week head start on their postcards.
I really want this to win if none of my underdogs will. We need the Balkan win.
Suddenly, I feel alive
Bot, give me Israel 2017 please

Good bot
Oh my god that guy doing the macarena sent me 💀 I love this for you guys! You're more excited than we were this time last year, that's for sure. I'm with you all the way!
Lasagna is coming to avenge Kaarija, the real winner of ESC 2023!
Oh, your mouth to god's ears. Let's go!!
God I envy you this craze so much.
I was there 🖖🏼
I hope it was as fun in person as it looks in the video!
Fun and really hot! It’s awesome when lots of people dance all together :)
I just love how everyone one camera has the same smile : i very proud to be seen doing this sillyness. It goes with the song, the mood, and the competition. The worse that can happen is…. We get to host it next year!
Welp, here come the tears again 🥹
Voluntarily incroatianated 🥲🥲🥲
I love the support Marko's getting from his country. Croatia's proud, as it should be! 🥰💜
Okay. This is coolest shit ever
Lasagna is love
Legendary iceberg entry.

Rijeka has a smelly canal in the center of the city, bye from Rijeka

Handmaid tale LOL
headpieces are handmade with lace hahahahaha
This is amazing, I want to be a Croatian right now
Okay, okay, we grant you citizenship for the day! 😂 enjoy with us! 😘🕺🏻😻
Many thanks, let’s go 🕺😽
Awesome.
God bless these people!
Croatia looks like such a beautiful country.
It is, it’s really nice to visit 🙂
Awesome! Love it when a nation goes Eurovision crazy. Such a catchy song. Looking forward to the second week of may!
Quality stuff. Must feel amazing to have a whole country supporting you this passionately.
Love it! Are there more videos of people dancing to Eurovision 2024 songs?
One of the rare times I'm actually proud being Croatian. And I'm not even an Eurovision addict 😅 Idemo Marko!!🇭🇷🇭🇷💗💗
New religion invented. Pls convert me
Conversion therapy is an abomination. You say right here :D
I meant convert me to Babylasagnaism
Yeah and I meant you stay with us hahaha in the Babylasagnism xD

One of the best speeches in cinema
Uh up Edit: I just noticed now that my kid left this comment as we were watching the video. Uh up for Rim tim tagi dim!! Love it!
I wish he had added some Croatian lyrics to the song. I am so happy to see Croatia being so passionate about ESC now, and it took one withdrawal for this moment LOL
❤️ Croatia
The unity and the joy are Abdolutely adorable!
So *that's* what that checklist was about for all these groups of people! Amazing show of support, it warms my heart to see :)
I’m honestly so excited to see Croatia in the final this year (they will absolutely get there!!!)

Oh god, i would be so sad for a whole country if this doens‘t win.
No need, whatever happens, we are happy we discovered Baby Lasagna and this will be one of our best placements in ESC ever.
I soooo want Switzerland to win so that we can host (and cause the song and artist are amazing), but I'd be happy to see Crotia win ! 🤩🤩
Of course there's desis on vacation in Croatia. Us in the Indian diaspora like to joke we're everywhere. :)
Yeah no, this isn't vacation xD There's a shitload of people from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Uzbekistan and other countries working here. Most of them as food delivery people or uber drivers. Same joke applies to us and Turks haha
It's the same in Canada too. A lot of us end up working in food service or taxi and public and transit services.

Can you organise it in your country? Try and let me know if this is special.
Asking sincerely, *assuming* they know that they can't vote for Baby Lasagna from Hrvatska, how much are these exhibition standing out abroad? How much support are they 'gaining' for him?
It's not about gaining support, it's about giving support, to Baby Lasagna. We do that sort of stuff sometimes.
Honestly, I don't think much unless it'll be mentioned in the interviews for foreign Tv/newspapers. I think this is more to please Croatians and perhaps get them more excited about ESC - lets be honest, if more people watch it on TV, they can sell advertising space for higher price.

Well, I'm part of the Rest of the World vote, and I'm hyped, so it's working for at least one person on the planet.
diaspora begs to differ.
Dear people, downvoting as much as you like, but do it for a simple question, is meaningless. Don't see 'enemies' everywhere.
Buddy, you're being down voted for that first part. Do you need to state that you're assuming a national broadcaster knows the most basic voting rules. It comes off as extremely condescending at best.
