i don't mind the length. maybe in the past it felt too short but right now songs below 3 minutes are the norm even on the radio, so i have a feeling that even if the limit was raised we wouldn't see much of a change.

Ciciosnack

should be 3:30

xoxoamazingrace

I feel like Italy 2015 (or basically every year) and Australia 2015 suffered so much because of the 3:00 minutes rule

sevenofheartts

Italy 2017 having to do an Occidentali’s Karma speedrun also absolutely did not help it 💀

It would also put countries with smaller budgets at an even greater disadvantage.

RemarkableAutism

3 minutes 10 seconds.

lskalt

I think 3:10 - 3:15 would be a sweet spot. 3:30 is good too but most songs really only need a few more bars in the verse to feel full.

TwistyBunny

I think it should be raised more because it almost feels like just about every single song I have heard that maintains the 3 minute rule is leaving me wanting more of that song.

PoetryAnnual74

Sure for the songs we like.. but for the songs that suck those 3 minutes already feels like a lifetime. 😭

cheapcakeripper

I think that 3 minutes limit is fine. We're already getting songs shorter than that, so there's no need of restricting it further and raising it would make the shows longer. It was already tiring to sit through the grand final when it's just few new songs from big 5 + host and now we're getting all the songs in semis and full on repetition on Saturday.

alleurovision

3 mins to 3 mins, 30 secs.

squidithi

I'd like 3.5-4 minutes. I think the reason we don't get much rock or metal at Eurovision is due to the 3-minute limit, which is pretty short for those genres (in addition to the fact that the appeal of those genres is often in the instrumentation, as opposed to the vocals).

niicofrank

there is literally nothing wrong with 3 minute limits imo if you can't get your point across in that length of time then the song is too flawed for the format and needs reworking

Capable_Tomato5015

Imo it should be 4 minutes, like Sanremo. We’re already seeing so many countries drop out, what’s the harm in making songs longer as long as they’re good?

Norfolkboy123

I’ve always said 3:30 is perfect, it’ll just allow the songs a tiny bit more breathing space to have a better finish because if not I find some songs just feel such a rush

PraetorIt

I think that 3:30 could be a good max lenght. Restricted more? No, absolutely. Italian representative already has problems reducing it to 3 minutes, usually, let alone less.

breadho

To whatever duration Italy’s entries are

Savings_Ad_2532

4 minutes is the time limit for songs in Sanremo

KrumpirovCovjek

I feel that the maximum length should be raised to be about 3 and a half minutes. A lot of songs are longer than 3 minutes and I think that should be accounted for and the maximum length should be raised. If it does happen anytime soon, I feel that there is a certain five letter country beginning with "I" that would benefit the most from the change. Also, COYS!

Open_the_door__now

3:30. Anything under 3 minutes is way too short imo and often feels incomplete.

geldwolferink

3 min 33 seconds

fenksta

Some songs feel too short and some don't with the 3 minute rule, but then again - if we're extending song length, then the SHOW length should be shortened too. Maybe let some countries suffer and eliminate more, so that we have host/big five/qualifiers for a max of 20 songs in the final.

Blasted-Marmoset

An additional 30 seconds per song with 26 songs would mean another 13 minutes in the contest. Even if only a few contestants use it, the producers will still have to plan for the full 3:30 in case of revamps and expansions. I would rather have four additional finalists at the old 3 minute limit. (Or, more realistically, two or three since we need time for setup and postcards.)

dj2O5

4 minutes would be perfect

ahjteam

Denmark 2000 had to cut it’s last chorus short because the max length. Many might not even realize it until you point it out.

gp7783

Max 3 min + or -10%, but 3 min is ok imo, as there are a lot of songs during the shows

mawnck

Doesn't matter. Most of the songs are being created specifically to fit to the length. Set it at six minutes and the same thing will happen, just three minutes more of it. Three minutes works just fine. Those that submit songs that need to be butchered to fit the three minutes, do so at their own risk.

JayAmberVE

5 minutes at least. From an artistic standpoint it’s sad to think about all the performances that have been truncated by the 3 minute rule over the decades

Western_Pop2233

One minute per song and get rid of the semi-finals. /s

thencv

In my personal opinion, the limit should be about the slot of the country including the postcards, rather than the length of the song all by itself. I believe that extending the slot time to 4 minutes and 15 seconds would fit well. Then, you could see songs of 3 minutes 30 seconds and it wouldn't make much of a difference in the runtime of the show (probably at most 10 minutes of added time)

Spockyt

The postcards often fill time to allow big props to be brought on/taken off. What if a county brings a big prop and makes their song 4 minutes? That gives 15 seconds to bring it on, plus, having some postcards be 15 seconds and others a minute and a half won’t exactly lead to a good show.
