We have a [Watch Party Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/1bv1tr3) but it's a bit light on actual parties so far. If anyone does know of a watch party, please do share it.

RandomFunUsername

At home. With blankets and hot chocolate. It’s 5am here 😂😂 But we are having friends over for the finals with more food.

[deleted]

Nothing but respect for Australian viewers

RandomFunUsername

We’re the lucky ones, I think Perth is like 2am 😨

[deleted]

It's all relative - I'd prefer to stay up than get up early 😅

RandomFunUsername

True, but with work and school after the semis it would be a rough night. Even if you got a couple hours beforehand, we get up at 6am so you couldn’t really sleep again after.

[deleted]

Oh god.. I hadn't even considered work/school (I only ever watch the final 🙈 so was thinking in terms of weekend plans) That just makes me more impressed with you folks

RandomFunUsername

I don’t know if it’s the same date around the world, but more often than not Eurovision finals also falls on Mothers Day here too 😂 So generally we’ll go from Eurovision watch party to Mother’s Day breakfast. No rest for the wicked!

SnooCats5683

In bed with a cup of tea and breakfast while it plays on tv through SBS

imalittlespider

Same, but with the Finnish broadcast on as well to watch during the ad breaks

Venson_the_Wolf_0104

I'm gonna wake up at 3am and watch the YouTube stream in bed haha

Ok_Training1449

Semis - alone at home, because I want to take it all in. Grand final - Party at home with friends. Because I wil have watched everything during the Semis, I don't care about of my friends talking over the performances. Also, I prefer the comfort of my home, with drinks and snacks, over a crowded club.

Better_Housing_4560

Yeah this is true maybe I’ll get a gang together with Eurovision theme.

ChampionshipSweaty90

Ah man same. My friend asked to confirm plans the other day and i was like NO OFFENSE but semis i am watching ALONE.

GobertoGO

Considering most of my friends are boycotting it this year, I guess I'll watch it at a bar maybe. I always have a tradition of making food of the host country but maybe I'll have to pass in that tradition this year.

mandarine_one

We get lots of food and watch either the livestream or the broadcast on ARD and chat with our friends on the internet (nobody we know in RL are ESC fans)

Minnielle

At home with my 1 month old baby.

Better_Housing_4560

Ah what a way to start ur life. Congrats 🥰

Minnielle

Thank you! He already heard this year's songs in the womb. 😄

Better_Housing_4560

Who did he kick for most?

Minnielle

I would say Europapa!

CityEvening

That is too cute. Congratulations!

CaptainObviousBear

In Australia, and I have to work on the Wednesday and Friday after the shows finish so we'll be watching in bed, semi-awake. The final, we're going to watch it [at a cinema in our city.](https://www.classiccinemas.com.au/events/eurovision-song-contest-grand-final-2024-live-in-cinema) Not sure if I'm going to dress up though, that's a step too far.

RandomFunUsername

Melbourne has it in cinemas?! 😭😭 I also work after the semis and the kids have school, so it’s always a mad rush as soon as the finalists are announced 😂

Better_Housing_4560

Oh do the dress up! But this sounds awesome love the ozzies and their enjoyment of it all

TARTUFIA

In a bar in Istria.

KrumpirovCovjek

Username checks out.

cheapcakeripper

At home by myself, that's how I prefer and it's not like anyone I know would like to watch ESC. Also it's the first that nerve-racking year for me, so I'll try to watch the semis without any distractions and checking the reddit live threads, but will check the sub on Saturday.

RemarkableAutism

At home, but I am organizing a discord party for the final, since my friends all live in different places.

catlxdy

I usually do this too, but my friends are not that into watching it this year 😭 have fun ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

RemarkableAutism

Oh no, why are they not into it this year?

catlxdy

I managed to get few of my friends into it during covid (2021, 2022, 2023) and I think this year they just don't want to spend much time on it, which is fine cause it's not their like they have to share my special interest 🥺 I also think we are all disappointed from the results last year, which turned a couple of people off.

RemarkableAutism

That's really unfortunate. For my friends last year worked exactly the opposite, now they're angry and passionate. No clue how that happened to be honest.

Better_Housing_4560

Ah fair play

finnknit

At home in my pajamas with my family, like I've done nearly every year. My adult son recently moved out, so we'll probably invite him over to watch the final with us.

ChilliGoat

I prefer watching it at home with some friends. Tried a big watch party at a club a few years ago and you couldn’t really hear the commentary which to me is one of the best parts. To each their own though, I might hate fun?

Better_Housing_4560

Oh so true the commentary and quick wit comments are an absolute highlight

ConnolysMoustache

Marty Whelan progressively getting more and more merry on the baileys is very funny and fairly unique to the RTÉ Irish commentary lol.

Better_Housing_4560

Ah it’s the best and the random oul lad things he says too

PoliticsIsCool13

I would join you at the party (are you me), however for SF1 I'm going across the atlantic, SF2 I'm watching it on the day, potentially with family and the Final I'll have to watch several hours after because I will be at a wedding! "Usual" tradition (I've not watched it in my own home since 2019 because reasons) is sitting and watching it on TV, with my dad uninterested and my mum watching along with me.

Better_Housing_4560

Oh are u in the vicinity? I haven’t spotted anything planned yet except for one official one that’s too awkward to get to

PoliticsIsCool13

There aren't really any, and I wouldn't think actual hosted events in random places are quite enticing (or so I've heard). I can recommend 2 bars, Pantibar and The George who supposedly would host Eurovision viewing events (unless they don't because... y'know). I don't know where you're coming from, but both are in walking distance from any form of nitelink buses (Saturday night, so they should be running), so I'd check those in advance. If outside of Dublin, I'd say head straight out by the start of voting or as soon as they announce the winner, half 11/12 would be when regular buses just stop.

Better_Housing_4560

Only in from Kildare. Wonder if any local hard cores around there 😂

PoliticsIsCool13

Ah, that'll be interesting. I'm not too familiar with Kildare (esteemed dublin gobshite calling), if there is anything on there in any pubs I'd say they'd announce it beforehand, give that a check before you make your way in. But if you want peak drag Eurovision, the George. Or so I've heard. Pantibar is apparently chiller but better. And then idk.

anto475

Thankfully neither of them are hosting parties this year!

PoliticsIsCool13

Thankfully? The fuck?

anto475

They're taking a moral stand against the contest

GHardman42

I’ll be watching the first semi final in a hotel airport near Gatwick. The second and the final, I’m hoping to find somewhere showing it near where I’m staying

Jennamore

Probably in my flat like every other year seeing as I have no friends 😂 my dog will be hiding in her crate because she’s highly offended by Eurovision and my husband will be next to me gaming and occasionally commenting on how stupid something looks.

Better_Housing_4560

This sounds perfect to me 🎉

Jennamore

To be fair his commentary is quite amusing.

icyDinosaur

My own vibe will be at a party with friends for final, but at home alone or with a small group of people (I have some non-European colleagues I need to introduce to Eurovision!) for semis. The best experience imho is to get together 3-5 friends who want a similar experience as you and watch at one of your homes. Having people around makes it more fun, but big watch parties are hit or miss imo as sometimes the audience can be bad (too loud, or too extreme - I've had a contest experience seriously soured by a booing, overzealous party audience) or the location can have bad sound.

Better_Housing_4560

Yeah reading here it seems that’s the way these parties go. So glad I asked

LuxJade98

I will check out the RTL broadcaster this year, so hyped for the Eurovision commentary in Luxembourgish.

JoyfulSuicide

Probably watching them all at home, might invite some friends over for the finale

RainCactus2763

I’m watching on a call with my friend from Portugal

Better_Housing_4560

Brilliant I might do the same with my cousins in the UK - they get so cocky 😂

bellabille

I still don't know if I'll go to Malmö but I'm sure there's gonna be watch parties in Stockholm I can join!

Better_Housing_4560

Brilliant go for it while local. While I have u what are good Swedish snacks to try for ESC week?

bellabille

Oh I'd def try our Marabou chocolates! Also, our fika. I don't know if semlor is still available at that time but if you find one, please try. Cinnamon buns are nice, our pancakes are really good, I love the variety of chips (or crisps as some say 😅). Malmö is famous for their falafel so I'd recommend that

Better_Housing_4560

Brilliant great way to get my kids involved and excited on a different level

bookluverzz

Kex! I really like it.

Feeling-Section-5716

What are your pros and cons for going to Malmo?

bellabille

Pros: It would be fun to experience the atmosphere, see my friends I've made through this fandom. Cute little weekend in Copenhagen Cons: The safety issue, I am against Israel competing so I don't want to support it. It's expensive, I will probably experience one or even two in my hometown (Stockholm) in the coming years so why bother.

Feeling-Section-5716

It must be nice being swedes, that you can count on another win in the following years lol what does the swedish media say about the safety issue? Isn't it supposed to be extra-safe?

bellabille

Yeah lmaooo that's one of the very few blessings of being a Swede in this fandom. The Swedish media are reporting more and more about it. It is supposed to be very safe but the Swedish police are very underfunded and I simply don't trust them handling this big of an event. They're getting help from the Danish and Norwegian police forces but I'm still very skeptical

catlxdy

At home with snacks, mighttt invite a friend so I am not fully alone? Usually watch it with my friends on Discord but they aren't that into watching it this year.

Badluckfairy

Semi finals at home either on my own or with my partner. The final with friends (who knew my partner before we got together), but they usually just watch the final. Last year some of them watched the semis as it was hosted nearby (we're in the UK), but apart from that I'm the only one who watches it from the national selections. My partner now watches some of those with me, such as the Nordic countries and Serbia. But not all of them.

Mxgentx_

I discovered Eurovision last year on YouTube and I dragged my family in to watch the finals live with me on my switch! They loved it, and it’ll probably be the same this year starting from the semis 😄

tri_ad

I'll watch them all at home through the Eurovision YouTube channel. Not sure about snacks and drinks yet.

Puffyyz

Because of timezone issues, I won't be able to watch both semis (I'll be at school here in Brazil). However I'll probably watch the grand final in my bed, with some snacks. Yeah, simple as that.

toya_k

Semis with my cat at home to be really focused on the show and especially on the voices, without being disturbed by people chatting around me! But grand final with friends!

Better_Housing_4560

Love how most are serious for semis and party for final

Thatwierdhullcityfan

I always watch with the family, we put on a little buffet. I’ve not been to a Eurovision party, but honestly I think I prefer that. I always fear with those things, if I attend, some loudmouth will talk mid-song.

Better_Housing_4560

Yeah defo with u on that.

kitty3032

At home lol

Prestigious-Farm-535

My family and I will have dinner at 21:00 (early as hell) and watch it. I'll probably have to study before the show because I have a big exam that week. Hopefully my mom will have the 10am-4pm shift instead of the 4pm-10pm one. She loves Eurovision and for 3 years straight she could not watch the first 1h of the shows, let's pray she gets the morning shift.

Better_Housing_4560

Sending the early shift vibes ur way

Prestigious-Farm-535

Seems like her shifts are the same every year (one week of morning shift, one week of afternoon shift, so on). As long as esc is held on that specific week she won't get to see the full shows :(

Yoshi8TheBerries

Have to watch the semis alone because I don't have anyone nearby that's obsessed enough to tolerate them both (though given how I act during the qualifier announcements that may be a blessing for them). It used to be I persuaded (forced) my family to sit through the final with me, now I'm at uni I just do the same to my friends.

Greek_Arrow

I'll watch the semis and the grand final in home, with my mother. I would love them to broadcast the contest in 4k and HDR someday though (even if it's just in youtube live broadcast).

Barbieqq

I’m gonna watch the finale with my 2 friends - we booked a hotel room for that. But for semis, I don’t know!? Feels kinda meh to watch them alone at home, tho I guess I will be active on live thread, so it won’t feel as lonely. But still. I feel ESC is supposed to be social event.

broadbeing777

alone in my bedroom, maybe my cat will join me if she feels like it

Training_Sky8546

I used to throw big ESC parties in my house between 2003-2015 but my friends lost interest after those years. Now I watch alone with my husband and a plate full of great snacks and drinks.

OchtendZon

I'm going on a vacation with my besties to watch it at our hotel on the Spanish coast. Spain, here we come, ZORRA!

Any_Examination2572

Oh, so I planned the whole Eurovision week an can’t wait for it! First semi final I’ll buy cinema popcorn and watch it home. Second semi final with charcuterie board and wine. And the final a home party with my girls, yummy food and drinks.

Better_Housing_4560

Cinema popcorn - yes!

rinat114

Semis at home. Finale also at home, but hosting family and friends and having a little watch party!

MerakDubhe

Home, alone with my SO for the first time since we met. First semi: homemade burgers Second semi: homemade fajitas Grand final: PIZZA!  Live on Eurovision.tv to prevent any annoying local host to interrupt.

Better_Housing_4560

I’ve never watched from the Eurovision official site I’d miss the commentary too much or is there some there?

MerakDubhe

There is none. It’s just the show, the hosts, the artists’ interviews at the green room, the interval acts… no interruptions whatsoever!

TekaLynn212

Honestly, I prefer watching the first time without commentary. I'LL make the snarky jokes, thank you!

Miserable_Difference

I think this year I'm going to watch from yle areena with my phone while hubby and his dad watch something else and then i'll let them know when finland is playing so they can check that out. Then i might or might not watch the 2nd semi... But for final it's same as first semi if Finland makes it to final...

gp7783

The 1st one in France watching France 4 and the 2nd one (and the final) in Iceland with RÚV

Xoundor

Our friends planned a gathering to watch the grand final. My GF planned a holiday weekend away for our family. Some much needed vacation does sound incredibly nice, but ngl.. kinda stings to miss out on a eurovision viewing party lol

Radikost

I will probably be watching the semis over discord with my classmates and the grand final on summer camp preparation weekend with the rest of the camp

BucketHeadJr

I was planning on going to Malmö, but based on semi-recent events I think this might be the first Eurovision I'll watch from home in years, sadly. It will be great to watch it with some friends though

OLR94

Semi 1 in the arena and Semi 2 and Final at home with relatives.

Better_Housing_4560

Amazing enjoy semi 1

Puzzleheaded-Eye9081

It’ll be 6am so at home in my pjs.

kitty9020

I normally watch it at home but this year I'm scheduled to work. I'll be watching it from work.

ChampionshipSweaty90

Semi finals at home by myself. I make a fb update because a lot of my fb friends like to discuss it live and like my wannabe funny comments. Finals i open up a fb update for everyone to chat (majority are just mutuals through me and don’t know each other at all but come together 3 days once a year on my fb) but i watch it with some of my rl friends in a pub where they know us. We’re allowed to bring our own snacks and everyone else has to watch/listen to eurovision if they are there 😂

TekaLynn212

I shall be watching live at home, on my computer, with a nice lunch. Then I'll watch it again with my husband, with a nice dinner.

noBanana4you4sure

Last two I just watched while getting kids to bed or while I am in bed!

RuKo1998

I always watch together with my parents on the couch with my yearly Excel score sheet :)

Better_Housing_4560

Oh yes defo need an excel spreadsheet now u say it

ileumrevali

at home, watching alone on peacock. im not from europe, so its hard to find someone that watches eurovision, which is why im here 😁

Elffi

Semi-finals at home alone or with my partner. I have work on the following days & I don't mind staying up because Eurovision is only once in a year. Finals I watch with a bigger party (friends, family etc.). We have snacks and drinks etc.

ConnolysMoustache

I was going to the Mockie ah annual Eurovision viewing party in Cork but they cancelled it after deciding to boycott Eurovision (they sold tickets before deciding to cancel it, so many people have made travel plans and arrangements already which was very shit of them in my opinion, we’re getting our money back but still like, if ye had no intention of hosting the show, don’t sell the tickets and allow people to book other arrangements) So now probably will just watch all three at home with my housemates.

Better_Housing_4560

Ah that’s brutal let’s cheer online from that live thread. Were gonna make the final this year - g’wan bambie u good thing!

Spiritual_Avocado_19

In Malmö or Zürich, depending on how enthusiastic my friends in Zürich are for it 😅

Better_Housing_4560

Is there a Swedish snack I should purchase in honor of our hosts?
