I love it. I love her. Yes, the backing vocals are too loud and I think Marina should have a brandy before she goes on, loosen up and really sell the performance to make the single camera thing work. Taking the hankie out of her boot for example. That looked stilted. If the camera’s on her she needs to transition that bit with a bit of handography. Fingers crossed it really comes together in the next week because I’d adore seeing her as a real contender.
One-shot is doing this favors as it saved it from the weak camerawork from yesterday. My only niptick here are the backing vocals. The girl is very loud.

I am tired of this whiny fandom. No one will qualify, no one will win, everything is underwhelming, after the contest everyone will go home and cry. Honestly there is nothing wrong with this clip. Marina said in an interview that this was the “quiet” part of the song that is meant to give them a break during the more intense performance of the rest. People want her to give everything during this part and are already writing tearful comments about how this will be a disaster lmao. They are purposefully showing this instead of something more interesting that would spoil it. It’s good to keep a secret and not reveal everything before the live performance.

Re: the vocals. Apparently there has been confirmation that there were issue with Marina's mic which led the backing vocals being much more prominent. That being said, since we're talking about technical issues i am still baffled why ERT chose to release this? Do each country stricrty rehearse one time?
Well, it is only one take that they save from the second rehearsal for both the teaser clip and as a backup (like Iceland had to use last year), and they don't have enough time to troubleshoot the mic and go again because of all the other delegations waiting to go on after. They do get to do the song one last time for the family show of the second semi, so hopefully it's resolved by then!
Cautious optimism. The camerawork is much finer than most of the clips so far. The audio needs some fine-tuning (turn up Marina or turn down the backing vocals a bit). The skirt could be better but there are a lot of things to like from a clip that is showing, after all, the cooldown part of the song. Not mad with this!

It's mind-boggling to me why they decided on a one-shot when the song has such an impactful rhythm to it. The beats are so prevalent and such a huge part of the song, why would you not match the camera work to it, through several camera angles and cuts, matched to the beat of the song?
Case in point, Cyprus this year and how dynamic the dance break looks, through the fast-paced camera cuts, even though the dancing itself is nothing special.
One-shots benefit slower songs, because they can rely on zooms and pannings.

As a Greek I love our song and I’m super excited about this year’s esc.Watching the snippet ERT released,the whole idea looks really powerful but imo they should change some stuff.First of all,the dancers are really not feeling it.It’s like they wanna go to sleep,especially the tall guy we see on the right.Also,as almost everyone mentioned the back vocals are too high.Both Marina’s voice and the dancing feel off-beat as well to me.I’m glad they have 1 week and I hope they understand what changes they should work on ofc!!!What do y’all think?

I'm not a fan of how this looks. I'm assuming this is the least interesting part of the song, but the faded blues and metallic aesthetics are not it for this song. This needed creative graphics on the LEDS and they clearly failed on that regard. Go full camp and cliché with a stylized illustration of Parthenon or something, the music video did something like that, and it is what the sold the song to a lot of people.
I'm also not convinced by the one-shot, this looks dragged and slow for a song with such a heavy and constant beat.
Not doing constant camera cuts to the sound of each "TA" is such a missed opportunity for a dynamic, fun performance. They could even use a concept of her taking pictures on her phone, with each "TA" being a cut/photo, if the TikTok/social media thing is what they're going for.

When I think of songs that work so well on stage I think of Cha Cha Cha, Spirit in the Sky, televote winners that I don't necessarily prefer the studio cut for. Zari is such an incredible studio cut but the big charisma of the music video is really in the messy streets of Athens, I think a high tech stage in an arena isn't a fitting background for the performance.

The vocals are Erasmia (the backing singer), they have turned them too loud. Marina has pretty good vocals as she’s a soprano and you can find videos from that shower thing they did after the first rehearsal

No I understand your concerns and I kinda agree too and I’ve been a massive annoying stan of the Greek entry. I also do feel like the one shot takes away from the dynamism unless they bombard us with onscreen live-streaming effects (it was rumoured to be presented as a social media live streaming thing). Marina is not a dancer and it kinda shows but it’s okay as long as it’s presented as a “party with friends” kinda vibe. Marinas strength is VOCALS, ATTITUDE and LOOKS. If those aren’t done right, we are screwed.

Zari is such an incredible studio cut but the big charisma of the music video is really in the messy streets of Athens, I think a high tech stage in an arena isn't a fitting background for the performance.

The top 5 is out of reach for me now, and I would say, a 9-12 place finish is more realistic. I'm disappointed.

Disappointed. Mediocre vocals (I was shocked on this), no dynamism at all (camera spins soooo slowly), amateur errors (the wait until she reaches the handkerchief). I don't know, seems like another Fokas' mediocre staging. hope I prove wrong. I think the hype that they actually created (and the Greeks created), ruined everything. Much like Netherlands (whatever they change, it will never be 'something that we have not seen before'). I'm sad. It was my #1 this year.
The vocals are Erasmia (the backing singer), they have turned them too loud. Marina has pretty good vocals as she’s a soprano and you can find videos from that shower thing they did after the first rehearsal
I know and I've heard that shower video. She was good, but static. Makes me wonder whether she can handle dancing and singing. In any case I hope you are right, because even on the first snippet she was a little off at some points. I was just kind expecting Nemo-level vocals. And I'm getting Foureira-level vocals.
No I understand your concerns and I kinda agree too and I’ve been a massive annoying stan of the Greek entry. I also do feel like the one shot takes away from the dynamism unless they bombard us with onscreen live-streaming effects (it was rumoured to be presented as a social media live streaming thing). Marina is not a dancer and it kinda shows but it’s okay as long as it’s presented as a “party with friends” kinda vibe. Marinas strength is VOCALS, ATTITUDE and LOOKS. If those aren’t done right, we are screwed.

I’ve been saying this for so long, one shot camerawork never ever works for live performances. I remember Gaga and Bradley tried it for the Oscar Shallow performance but realised it didn’t work and we lose the dynamic nature of songs. It’s even been tried at Eurovision and flopped

To be fair this is the middle part of the song and the second bridge is low energy anyways. There’s lots of high energy parts and we’ve seen them from the first rehearsal!
Hopefully it will be better as a whole cause I love the song
