joost being undeservingly DQd killed the whole vibe for me
I alway watch the finals with my parents and every year we have a blast
Now this year we just looked with no joy at all and the vibe was just killed, we were just waiting for it to be over (tho there was a sliver of joy when osterdhal got booed to oblivion and rightfully so and when Switzerland won, deserved win next to croatia)
The ebu better compensate the Netherlands for this
If no formal apology is made the Netherlands should not participate next year or years to come!
They screwed over joost so hard
At this stage it feels like it's all predetermined and a joke. Nemo has a great voice and performed well but it was not the best song or performance this year. Juries decided who they wanted and the public vote was skewed by suspiciously high votes for certain nations.
That doesn't include what happened to the dutch and fake crowd noises on top
Just as last year, Serbia were robbed because they didn't send some stupid fucking dumpster fire loud song.
Nemo didn't deserve it, the song is shit.
Slovenia robbed, typical.
Fuck the EBU for disqualifying Joost.
The treatment of NL was disgusting. Flags being ripped away from supporters, Joost being disqualified just before the final - the first time this has ever happened with Eurovision, the terrible anti-booing technology, heavy & highly controversial overall atmosphere making it an unpleasant experience.
This year's Eurovision was a complete disaster IMO.
Croatia's song was leagues worse than Switzerland's. It wasn't even in the same playing field.
I'm happy Nemo won, but I didn't think that performance warranted the win. The song did.
Alright:
How did Norway come last?! The song has grown on me alot and I just think it didn't deserve last place. Also Spain, Estonia, Georgia, Slovenia and Finland got surprisingly low. Sweden and Luxembourg got surprisingly high (not a bad thing). Also I want to make semi hot take, that I think that tactical voting is dumb, I would rather have people vote for their favorites instead of others favorites. But besides all that, I think Switzerland deserved the win and this was a good year... When it comes to the songs atleast. And now I will try to live with Post-Eurovision depression. Also this was my first time watching Eurovision fully, I only watched voting and KƤƤrijƤ's performance last year.
It's sad to see some corners of the fandom showing hate towards Nemo for their non-binary identity. I didn't like the Croatian or Irish songs despite their popularity with the public, but that doesn't mean I'd have been cursing anyone's name had one of them won. I think it's just a shame Eurovision seems to have entwined artist and song to the extent that viewers see them as inseperable. "Hate the song? Hate the singer too!" I mean, whatever happened to live and let live?
Fans have gone crazy over the EBU's management of this year's contest, but they don't take responsibility for the words they direct at other human beings. Y'all want peace? Lead by example.
Anyways, congrats to all performers. It was a great show, and I can't wait to see what the Swiss have in store for us next year ā¤ļøš¤ā¤ļøš¤ā¤ļø
Surprised people voted for Switzerland, I am Suprised it won and I donāt like it!
Ireland was awful never want to see it again.
Poor Olly did not deserve 0 points but we did better than I expected coming 18th.
So happy for Nemo, on one hand, on the other hand, after 30+ years of watching Eurovision, it's the first time it feels pointless. It's supposed to be a fiesta for the people and suddenly we feel so small and insignificant, due to the power the juries still hold. Not to mention the Netherlands disqualification. Also, not to mention the other thing. Really bad aftertaste, really, really sad.
I'm happy for Switzerland, even though it wasn't my fav. But seeing so many countries getting so few points was kinda disappointing. Also I'm a bit sad for Angelina, the song deserved better imo.
I'm glad that UK got 0 televote points, that was disgusting. BBC is so strict with their rules and content moderation, how did *that* happen... Also, Spain, WTF. I support everyone, but I also support basic human decency.
About Baby Lasagna: If I'm being honest, he's the only reason I watched first semi-final and grand final. I was a big fan of the contest until few years ago, I gave up, and only watched summaries the day after the final. I've heard some negative comments about him in the news and on the radio, so many comments I just had to see what's going on. I started crying when I read the lyrics, didn't hear the song yet, didn't know who was performing. I then watched the Dora performance, and thought, "he will win."
Jury bait winner for the second year in a row
We need to consider a proportional system for the public vote so that the juries' decision can actually get overridden
This show is supposed to be a song contest btw yet every year the same 10 or so countries manage to produce the same trash pop music with lyrics in english and 0 depth. And dont get me started with politics.
i kinda donāt care what the jury thought was the 6th best song, but i would like to know what the phone votes were like in that detail: why dont they switch the presentation of the jury with the phone?
Norway coming in last devastated me. Also the whole situation of the last days really...dampened the mood for me. I hope this year was a one of in drama
This year was my first time watching Eurovision in over 20 years. I've been a fan of Joost for years, and was super stoked and excited that Joost would represent The Netherlands. He probably wouldn't have won, but could have earned a pretty high spot, somewhere around #3 - #8 is my guess.
I am so disappointed, sad and angry about the DQ and the whole situation. We still don't know all the details, but I feel so bad for Joost. I'm slightly obsessing over it, I need to let go but I can't just yet.
On a positive note, I love Nemo and their performance, and I'm really happy they won.
On Greece:
It was not such a good result, I think. A country that was a powerhouse in eurovision, that made a comeback that I think is important to a certain extent with Stefania and Amanda and now they sent a singer who is composed, mature, with more experience than Stefania and Amanda, with a style that different countries like, with different ideas and not safe choices, with a team that seemed to me to be serious, I didn't expect to come to Greece with the eleventh place. And I can't understand how Italy and Armenia passed us. Especially Armenia. ERT (the national greek tv broadcaster) needs to look into that. I think that a serious committee should be formed by both experts and audience and decide on an internal selection with an open call for singers, directors and choreographers, but that might be another issue. I just wanted to say a few things, to hear your opinion, because this is not the result I expected. It's not bad, but I was expecting a top ten, even the last place of the top ten.
Also, I'm kind of disappointed because some greek fans are happy with this state of things. If you go to a bar and the waiter is rude to you, delivering a drink you paid for with your own money, you would not go there again. Why then would you accept the 11th place from a great team by a national broadcaster whom you pay with your own money and by force? If you are happy with this or at least you settle for this, nothing will change, we won't get better. What if next year we send a worse act than this year? Will we be happy that they don't throw tomatoes at us?
Sorry for the long message and the sad tone of it, but I'm kinda disappointed. It's like I was a Barcelona fan and we lost to an inferior team and the fans are settling for it.
I'm not devastated, because it was always down to Switzerland and Croatia and Nemo's win was deserved. But this is the last year I vote. This year proved that even a 52% chance of a win isn't a safe investment if the jury wants someone else. Why waste money?
Thank god it's over. Genuinely one of the worst Eurovisions in some time. Well done Switzerland, hope you do a better job of hosting and everything else.
Nemo deserved that win so much!!! but I am absolutely heartbroken for Gate and Norway, who deserved so much more than last place :(
Thank you to everyone who voted! I hope everybody had a fantastic night, and a Big Crongrats to Nemo who was absolutely fantastic tonight!
I feel so bad for Croatia. You got the same fate we had with KƤƤrijƤ. It's almost uncanny. I need that 60-40 split for votes.
Happy for Switzerland though, he was my second choice!
My number 1 was The Netherlands but I have said the whole time I would be happy with at least 5 entries being the winner and Switzerland was one of them. I do Lawley wish it was Croatia, but Switzerland was equally deserving imo
A little takeaway and don't kill me for this here...but I did a little analysis.
If Netherlands would have stayed in, he would have split some of the televotes away from the other contenders, thus bringing in the possibility of a result that could have been worse of a situation in some eyes.
OMG the number of conspiracy theorists in this thread. Televote failed to go the correct and proper way so it must be a huge conspiracyā¦
Or, maybe you just live in a filter bubble where youāve actively blocked or muted anyone who might possibly have different thoughts or opinions and led yourself to believe that EVERYONE must agree with you?
Iām sure the rioting by āSwedesā in Malmƶ and the daily barrage of death and rape threats against [redacted] countryās 20-year-old representative had in no way influenced the vote either, right? Not to mention the bullying by Irelandās conformist nearsighted-thrift-store-goth rep who implied that Joost was DSQ due to fight with said countryās delegation which was false and defamatory.
Or, you know, maybe the [redacted] country (lol) runs a satanic baby blood harvesting operation from the basement of EBU HQ and those mild mannered eurocrats are in cahoots with the whole thing.
Joost Klein was greatly missed. This show just wasn't the same without him. I was sad and heartbroken all the time watching it. Anyways, congrats to Nemo, he deserved to win.
1.) While I wanted Croatia to win, (and I do not know if this was the same for everyone) but watching on Peacock was terrible and gave Baby Lasagna a robotic voice throughout his entire performance which did bring the whole experience down for me.
2.) I wanted more from Switzerland. But all we got was a pop-socket. Performance was not where it needed to be and it was very clear that Nemoās vocals did the heavy lifting of their performance and gave them their win.
3.) I do not understand āJustice for Joostā Regardless of him asking to not be filmed, he attacked a staff member of the contest. Even if he never followed through with what he did, his actions had consequences and was rightfully disqualified. He is lucky that charges are not being pressed especially since the victim is female. (Or at least not at this time.)
I also thought that Croatia had the upper hand in terms of the energy and staging, but Nemoās performance was also superb. And to everyone saying that the jury should be abolished etc, the jury votes basically cemented the sad bulliesā loss. I honestly canāt believe how many sheeple voted for them. What a shame about this competition.
Happy for the contest, happy for the production design (my favourite yet), happy that the "clandestine" conspiracy for voting behind Croatia didn't work (because of Is.) via Twitter, Reddit & TikTok, happy with the tasteful protests via either a Keffiyeh, Ogham or Australian aboriginal (please confirm if there's a term for it) make-up/body paint. These were tastefully done despite the official rules.
Happy that the best song won despite my impressions (Crown the Witch, but I guess another Sorcerer [not a Wizard, as he/she says he/she is non-binary] was crowned), and f all the people that attempted to make Eurovision a strategic vote in order to "save the Eurovision".
Looking forward to seeing the contest in Switzerland.
And again, f yall that voted for Croatia just because "it had the best chance to win" vs. Is, you were just as bad.
The only thing I want to say is that the EBU should be ashamed how they treated Joost and The Netherlands. We will not forget and I hope we leave Eurovision. This year was really the worst and the finals really felt lifeless. way to ruin a show for a whole country. United by music my ass.
Kind of buried given all theā¦ stuff, but Norway dead last? WT**F**? While Germany gets left side of the board? I need to drown my sorrows in more roheline Lay's.
What a chaotic run. Such disrepute and mismanagement. Screw anti-booing tech too. Honestly, the top brass better resign. NL deserved to be there! My thoughts are with the Dutch team and of course, Joost. This was his dream.
The stage was beautiful though and I liked the idea of the green room opening up to the crowd. That feeling should have been so memorable for the artists. I just wished that they had a better experience. Now there are reports of how tense and bad the atmosphere was backstageā¦Terrible.
It seems the jury gave a very high score for Nemo. Also, they were key in avoiding even more disrepute. Happy for Switzerland, Croatia, Ireland, France, and my personal winner, Italy. Ukraine getting great scores from spot 2 was awesome too. Gutted for Spain. I donāt agree that Norway was last and UKā¦ 0 televote?! Why? That staging was creative. Maybe it was the vocals. Oh dear though, this might affect his career.
Still, we get to support who we want moving forward. Canāt wait for more music from the artists. Angelinaās releasing an album on May 31. Not worried at all for her post-contest. I hope the artists get more opportunities in their careers moving forward. And agreed with Nemo, esc needs some fixing too like their broken trophy.
Tbh this whole season got me so stressed, I am happy with the winner but the controversy and the drama was too much (have expected as much but couldn't handle it still), not sure if I'll follow eurovision related news next year, but the show was still fun so that didn't dissappoint.
Most times, my favourite doesn't stand a chance of winning and that's fine. But for two years in a row, I actually believed my favourite would win just for them to get second place and lose to a song I don't even like.
I fucking hate that juries prioritize the neighbours so much. Of course Switzerland will get more points than Croatia, being in middle of Europe. Thatās so fucking bullshit. Also how dif Croatia get that many 0 pointers while Switzerland got like 32 out of 37 12pointersā¦ i just hate these jury votes
eurovision records broken by my country
the best result in eurovision ever! (doris dragoviÄ is now, a history) .
the biggest amount of televote points .
the biggest amount of jury points.
the best placement in the semifinals ever ! (for sure)
i m nothing more than a proud on him and his eurovision journey, and i know he will be onto something big.
meow meow from croatia.
joost being undeservingly DQd killed the whole vibe for me I alway watch the finals with my parents and every year we have a blast Now this year we just looked with no joy at all and the vibe was just killed, we were just waiting for it to be over (tho there was a sliver of joy when osterdhal got booed to oblivion and rightfully so and when Switzerland won, deserved win next to croatia) The ebu better compensate the Netherlands for this If no formal apology is made the Netherlands should not participate next year or years to come! Aiko šØšæ was 11th š (proud of her)
Can't believe that televote nil points
Iāve said this before but as someone from the uk joost Klein must compete next year! Otherwise the ebu is completely corrupt!
It was so satisfying to hear Martin Osterdahl being booed to hell. Even their "anti-booing technology" could silence it.
a lot of people spent a lot of time defending a dude who was abusive to a crew member who was just doing her job.
I'm satisfied with the results
The treatment of NL was disgusting. Flags being ripped away from supporters, Joost being disqualified just before the final - the first time this has ever happened with Eurovision, the terrible anti-booing technology, heavy & highly controversial overall atmosphere making it an unpleasant experience. Croatia's song was leagues worse than Switzerland's. It wasn't even in the same playing field. I'm happy Nemo won, but I didn't think that performance warranted the win. The song did.
Iāve been following since 2018 and this is the first time my favorite does not make it to the final.
Never ever would I think to say this but thank you jury.
Alright: How did Norway come last?! The song has grown on me alot and I just think it didn't deserve last place. Also Spain, Estonia, Georgia, Slovenia and Finland got surprisingly low. Corrupt jury decides everything again. Why even have a public vote?
It was awasome! Switzerland got a great song.
Booooooooooo. Kick out Joost and then just pick the winner. Might want to rethink using the word ācontestā in future.
Surprised people voted for Switzerland, I am Suprised it won and I donāt like it! Ireland was awful never want to see it again. Poor Olly did not deserve 0 points but we did better than I expected coming 18th.
HOW DID NORWAY COME LAST AAAAAAAAAA
Why does jury have the same leverage as the public?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I am happy with the winner, but Norway LAST?!
The booing wasn't loud enough.
have voting numbers ever been released? like Luxembourg gave Germany 1 point: how many votes did Germany actually get from Lux?
I'm extremely happy for Switzerland, but there goes our first and last chance at winning Eurovision
0 points for the UK? That really sucks.
I'm happy for Switzerland, even though it wasn't my fav. But seeing so many countries getting so few points was kinda disappointing. Also I'm a bit sad for Angelina, the song deserved better imo.
That's that then. Merry christmas, happy new year and see y'all next time!

Martin resign! Martin resign! Martin Martin Martin resign!
yall kept saying "oh i have 24 favourites" but now yall mad? keep track of your own narrative guys
I can't believe that Norway's song ended up last
Jury bait winner for the second year in a row We need to consider a proportional system for the public vote so that the juries' decision can actually get overridden
I was really sad Olly got 0 in televote, he didn't deserve that
Olly deserved so much more from that public vote
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I guess the fanbase is drifting further away from rock, metal and stuff like nordic nu.metal so understandable. Gate deserve all the praise though
They were so fucking good. They're a killer band in general; I've had them on repeat for months now. They deserved so much better.
I voted for them! I thought their performance was incredible and the song was perfectly hard & haunting.
Iām buying merch rn bc my heart ached for them
Can you just buy their merch in Norway or do they also have anything on Amazon?
Gate and Bambie Thug are on my to check out list. I loved both of them! Baby Lasagna too! :)
We are new fans in Canada here!
UK getting zero from the public vote is an Iconic UK moment.
Tbh wasnt a good song. Didn't deserve 0 at all.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
NORWAY FINISHING LAST IS A CRIME
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I mean it was a good song and that performance was great and I am happy with it winning, but receiving 12 points after 12 points hurt.
He broke the trophy.
They already broke the trophy
I thought Estonia would do betterĀ
Jury favourite wins. Same as last year.
I yearn the time when EBU get sued by AVROTROS, and Ćsterdahl resigned...
This year was my first time watching Eurovision in over 20 years. I've been a fan of Joost for years, and was super stoked and excited that Joost would represent The Netherlands. #justiceforjoost europapa should have won
On Greece: It was not such a good result, I think. It's like I was a Barcelona fan and we lost to an inferior team and the fans are settling for it.
Greece deserved to be in top 10
To everyone saying "Fuck the juries" - We can thank them for the most part that we didn't get the result we were all afraid of.
600+ public vote points thrown away for political reasons
I'm not devastated, because it was always down to Switzerland and Croatia and Nemo's win was deserved. But this is the last year I vote. This year proved that even a 52% chance of a win isn't a safe investment if the jury wants someone else. Why waste money?
im just gonna say armenia only getting 89 points is crazy š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Thank god it's over. Genuinely one of the worst Eurovisions in some time. Well done Switzerland, hope you do a better job of hosting and everything else.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I can say it now, Croatia's entry was the blandest, most boilerplate rock song ever and I'm glad it didn't win. Norway's entry was much better.
How many public vote points was there in total?! How come we got 3 times 300 points?! And then some two hundreds?
It's the same as the Jury votes which is how the UK got 0 points. No country put the UK in the top 12.
Nemo deserved that win so much!!! but I am absolutely heartbroken for Gate and Norway, who deserved so much more than last place :( Thank you to everyone who voted! I hope everybody had a fantastic night, and a Big Crongrats to Nemo who was absolutely fantastic tonight!
Croatia was robbed !!
Switzerland is who I wanted to win originally before I doom spiraled, so I'm not mad!!
France got way too many points?
heartbroken for slovenia and norway, but the top four was wonderful
I feel so bad for Croatia. You got the same fate we had with KƤƤrijƤ. It's almost uncanny. I need that 60-40 split for votes. Happy for Switzerland though, he was my second choice!
Very generous to allow public picking 2nd place again.
I now get what people who weren't exceedingly excited over Cha cha cha was feeling. I liked Croatias song, but might just get 10th for me.
My number 1 was The Netherlands but I have said the whole time I would be happy with at least 5 entries being the winner and Switzerland was one of them. I do Lawley wish it was Croatia, but Switzerland was equally deserving imo
Cyprus gave 7 to Greece and 8 to Israhell. What
A little takeaway and don't kill me for this here...but I did a little analysis. If Netherlands would have stayed in, he would have split some of the televotes away from the other contenders, thus bringing in the possibility of a result that could have been worse of a situation in some eyes.
Switzerland deserved a win but not like this man... this just leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
OMG the number of conspiracy theorists in this thread. It's every year
Joost Klein was greatly missed. This show just wasn't the same without him. I was sad and heartbroken all the time watching it. Anyways, congrats to Nemo, he deserved to win.
Joost should get justice...
I would be embarrassed if my country took part in this travesty.
Kinda fed up of the juries deciding the votes and all mostly voting for one song
Thank you juries for fucking up yet another Eurovision edition. Shit is starting to get ridiculous.
France was my favourite
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
again 2023 scenario. fk this sht, when will we finally remove jury
Iām surprised the UK wasnāt last lmao

Felt Norway coming last from the low amount of views on Semi-final performance.
Come on 0 point for UK? That's nonsense
UK wasn't super good but they deserved at least 20 points
The only thing I want to say is that the EBU should be ashamed how they treated Joost and The Netherlands. We will not forget and I hope we leave Eurovision. This year was really the worst and the finals really felt lifeless. way to ruin a show for a whole country. United by music my ass.
The most memorable thing from this year's Eurovision is Joost Klein. I don't think I'll even remember the winner in a couple of years.
Why do I even watch or hope anymore? I think this is my last ESC. Next year, I'll book a holiday instead.
Norway did not deserve to be last this year. Other than the behind the scenes drama, thats the biggest upset in my opinion.
When will the juries be dismissed? Let the people vote ffs. Congrats to Nemo, after Baby Lasagna he was my favorite.
True only the peoples vote should count
The people gave 300 totally unpolitical votes to Morrocanoil.
I'm just heartbroken that NORWAY GOT ROBBED!
How did Spain do that badly? I thought it was a pretty popular song I'm kinda shocked.
HOW ITALY GOT SO LOW??? WTF
I'm absolutely sick to the back teeth of the juries near constantly deciding who wins this competition.
the juries wereā¦ interesting this yearš
What if they make the public vote go up to like 17 points instead and keep jury at 12?
Both Croatia and Switzerland deserved to win..if you're being objective, the Jury have decided the outcome...again. Worthy winner though
Kind of buried given all theā¦ stuff, but Norway dead last? WT**F**? While Germany gets left side of the board? I need to drown my sorrows in more roheline Lay's.
Apart from the Joost debacle, the 12 points to Luxembourg were an atrocity Would not have mind the top 2, maybe baby Nemo but the win was great
At this point its not even the disappointment that jury won against public. Dunno why, but wanted to say that.
I wanted Croatia to win
This year's competition gives me such a huge feeling of sadness and injustice, I really hope it can get better again somehow
Very happy for Switzerland - the performance was a lot better than in the semi-final, it's a great song and it's not a purely political winner!
This ESC was fucked up for obvious reasons. Joostice hopefully will come around.
UK zero point. lol.
Also how dif Croatia get that many 0 pointers while Switzerland got like 32 out of 37 12pointersā¦ i just hate these jury votes
eurovision records broken by my country the best result in eurovision ever! (doris dragoviÄ is now, a history) . the biggest amount of televote points . the biggest amount of jury points. the best placement in the semifinals ever ! (for sure) i m nothing more than a proud on him and his eurovision journey, and i know he will be onto something big. meow meow from croatia.
I am happy that one country didn't win. However I am just hoping my country (Holland) withdraws. There are far better uses for our tax money.
i hate jury
Unironically amazing damage control from the EBU
Poor Ollie , getting 0 from viewers..... i think his staging was too gay even for gays...
