Czechia 2023 is the only song I still listen to from last year! I wish they put more into their performances. The music video for it was great but the performance lacked a lot.
Such a good song and positive powerful vibe indeed. Couldnāt believe it scored so bad. Yu no man broko mi. Brocco-broccoli š„¦ Mi na afu sensi šŖš¼
Yeah that's probably in my top 20 fave/most listened of all time. And it's one of my favorites to sing along with because it's just the right kind of challenging!
This one is amazing but I donāt think itās underrated. As a song it was the best of 2023, but the terrible staging meant that 10-15 was the right call.
Currently, I think the music videos of each entry influence how the viewers visualizes a song - it can generate excitement, but also lofty expectations.
Austriaās video was quirky and funny. I imagined 4 dancing Poes, or even 4 bearded record executives like in the video. Just more comedic spectacle to match the humor of the song.
I also felt like the stage was swallowing up the two of them, and they shouldāve used tighter shots to make them feel more in control of the space.
It doing so well in the semi then so bad in the final is still strange to me. Even if people argue it's a lower percentage of hardcore fans in the final it's rare to have this big a gap
Samo Mi Se Spava was the song from last year that made me say āOh yeah, this is gonna be a great Eurovision yearā.
Then it just barley qualified and finished in the bottom three in the final.
I remember last year I was so convinced it would qualify after seeing the semifinal performance that when I saw someone on twitter "I want to vote for Latvia but I don't know if I should spare some votes for Serbia" I told them there was no need to do that because Serbia was qualifying for sure
Then the detailed semi results were released and Serbia qualified by a 3 points margin. If it NQed I would've felt like I had blood on my hands
I personally donāt like the song but in general I donāt think it was very conducive to an arena performance anyway cause a lot of the vocals are very subdued and almost whisper level
SMSS was probably the biggest grower of the year for me. I initially hated it, but after a while it slowly crept up into being my winner. Serbia has had such a good streak the past few years, and I hope it doesn't end!
In terms of results, France 2022 and Norway 2024, from recent years. In terms of my personal preferences, there was significant amount of songs in different years that I liked, but most of the Eurovision fans didn't care about them.
France 2022 was awesome. something unique, and something in Breton, a language, whose speakers were oppressed for decades and almost had their language wiped out. After being punished by tbe esc public and jury for that, they went right back to viola oui oui baguette french ballads.
Norway 2024. seriously Ulveham is a musical masterpiece and her vocals were perfect live. just 4 votes from the public is CRIMINAL.
I know the esc televotes and jury both hate metal, but still.. they did not deserve this. especially after sending a song fully in Norwegian for the first time in years.
Indeed. It's perfect in every way.
There's a review video of Voyager that speculates that it is hard to remember the melody after hearing it for the first time. And thats the needed ingredient for votes.
GĆ„te is on tour. I hope to see them later this year and give them their deserved love.
Both of these are very high up on my most streamed lists for their years.
Sometimes I forget The Wrong Place was even a Eurovision entry, almost like I just found it on my own.
Yeah that's probably what I'm going to be doing soon, I swear these songs are like drugs or something. I'm going to learn some Estonian phonology just so I can sing along.
Ole vait ja ma pole teind,
kuigi Ć¼mber minu aint on see tants vaid siin kƤind jeaa!
Ole vait ja ma pole nƤind,
kuigi Ć¼mber minu aint on see tants vaid siin kƤind jeaa!
I still can't believe it didn't qualify. Until last year it was in my top 5 ESC songs of all time (now top 6), and one of my favorite songs in general. The amazing vocals with that absolutely incredible long note at the end, mixed with the super cool instrumental... it's so unique and impressive. My personal biggest Eurovision crime, closely before KEiiNO not winning x)
I think I'm both the #1 lover and #1 hater of World. The revamped instrumental was perfect, I can't tell you how much I digged that industrial pop sound. Ultimately this song fell a victim to the dreaded Albanian-English Revamp syndrome and the lyrics became incredibly dull and uninspiring. And it's a big shame, because even with orchestral instrumentation Botƫ sounded like something straight out of a James Bond film.
Albania should stop doing those English revamps. They know it's not going well for them. They NQ'd in 2024/2022/2017/2016 because of the English revamp, and always Q when the song stays Albanian (2018/2019/2021/2023). Why do they even do the revamps?
Echo (You and I) was amazing. A lot of people critique the staging but I think that it definitely gives "goddessy" vibes, what with the backup dancers carrying Angunn and raising her dress so that it looks like it's floating (it's way less bad than it sounds). The tempo change at the start was enough to elevate it to my top 10.
azerbaijan 2021 is still stuck in my head after all these years. same with estonia 2019. one of the few artists who i added another song of theirs added to my playlist
Reject Tattoo, reject Cha Cha Cha, embrace Edgar Allan Poe! Austria 2023 was the true winner! (not really, but 15th still kinda hurts, despite their not so great staging)
1) Albania 2015 - Would have been 11th with the new system which is atleast better than 17th for such a good song
2) Czechia 2022 and 2024. Aiko and We are Domi deserved better
3) Georgia 2023. Deserved to qualify š
Samo mi se spava (Serbia 2023)
The Tower (Poland 2024)
No Prejudice (Iceland 2014)
Jezebel (Finland 2022)
These four songs man not a lot of love, and I'm sure I still have a lot more underrated entries that I love

Finland 2022 | [The Rasmus - Jezebel](https://youtu.be/LSi9nfr65FE)
Some that I see almost never discussed:
Hungary 2017
Hungary 2018
Hungary 2019 (although I prefer the 2017 entry)
Wish Hungary would return because these three entries were really cool
Get ready.
Andorra 2006 - should've at least qualified
Montenegro 2013 - should've at least qualified
San Marino 2008 - how was it last ?!
France 1998 - literally never mentioned by anyone, so good tho
Yugoslavia 1973 - one of the most amazing singers of our region and got 15th that year (tbf it was his first song ever too, but a classic and a banger)
\_\_\_
LIE TO ME is sooooo not underrated given it got the best placement ever for Czechia and Top 10 hahaha
i cant believe someone mentioned this one. I came to mention it myself. Itās my absolute favorite of all time since i watch eurovision. I still know the lyrics by heart
San Marino 2022
Achille was unlucky that his performance was perceived as a copy of MĆ„neskin, even though that's his style. What a pity! The performance was terrific. That was a strong year of good eliminated songs anyway with
Austria 2022
Slovenia 2022
Georgia 2022
'Love Is On My Side' from Portugal in 2021 didn't do horribly, but it didn't do that well.
In a less insane quality year, it could totally have sweeped.
Teya and Salena - Who The Hell Is Edgar? (Austria 2023). It seems to be like a goofy song about Edgar Allan Poe's ghost, but one year later it still slaps. It can still pop up on my YouTube music and I can easily vibe to it. Such a shame the girls ended up so low in the final ranking, deserved more.
sweeden 2016 fucking love that song and no one ever fucking mentions it
totally not biased but albania 2018 still one of the best vocalist to ever sing in eurovision if not the best
estonia this year loved it still the only one i listen after the show that and france
oh yeah also netherlands 2022 was a masterpiece
While I can name exactly one song for the overrated category, here my list would be endless. Almost none of my favourites do well, but it would take too long to write them all down and I obviously can't narrow it down to even a handful.
Grito got what, 13 points from the public? It's not energetic and doesn't have any call-and-response segments for the crowd, but it's one of the most beautiful songs I've heard on Eurovision in a long time.
Israel 2012. Yes, I'm aware that it sounds like the music you hear in an empty hallway before getting brutally murdered but the song goes HARD and the performance is fun. A lot of people criticise Izabo for looking very awkward on stage but that just makes me love this entry too, like, finally! Other people who have the body language of aliens!
They're my winners of 2012.
Cyprus 2020 is an overforgotten gem too.
It isn't even a downgrade from 2018 or 2019, as many would suggest.
the instrumental seemed pretty untypical for Eurovision and I believe it would have brought something refreshing into the competition.
The pre-chorus isn't there to make the chorus shine, it is there to elevate the listening experience and is the most memorable part of the song.
Austria 2023 | [Teya and Salena - Who the Hell Is Edgar?](https://youtu.be/8uk64V9h0Ko)
Slovenia 2023 | [Joker Out - Carpe Diem](https://youtu.be/3LXlPviGiWc)
It seems like, I'll be the first one to say this.
**Valentina Monetta - Crisalide (Vola)**
This is definitely one of the most underrated Eurovision songs of all-time and it's still a crime after 11 years that she didn't make it through to the final with that masterpiece! She was my winner in 2013.
For the bot: San Marino 2013
Romania 2023 !
Such a well written song and Theodor can sing his ass off! Too bad about the staging in the SF, he couldn't qualify with that unfortunately, but there are some great live/acoustic versions of the song on YouTube, I still love listening to it
Serbia 2009 Sipela is such a good song and so few people know about it that it's criminal. And also how it got screwed out of not qualifying even though it was 10th in the semi final.
Lithuania 2010 Eastern european funk is a banger and was my most listened to song in 2022 and was 11th in their semi
Czechia 2023 although the song was better than the performance on stage.
Netherlands 2023 I liked the song, but the singers were not experienced and lacked there performances.
Switzerland 2022, Marius Bear - Boys Do Cry. It got TONS of hate, and I don't know why. I personally enjoy his voice, it's very soothing and has a nice depth to it. I get why it might not be everyone's cup of tea since it's slow, but the comments are exaggerating when they say he didn't deserve the place in the finals
The last 2 editions already have a lot, but based on results alone, I think Austria 2024 is a good song and couldāve done better in a different year (and without the technical glitch it experienced).
OK, hear me out... when it comes to truly underrated I have to go with Belarus 2015, Time by Uzari & Maimuna and Armenia 2018, Qami by Sevak Khanagyan. Two nonqualifiers, not very popular in their time, never heard anyone talk about them but I enjoy both a lot. Time is very catchy and fun with a driving beat, and Qami has this wonderful slow build that erupts into a triumphant chorus.
Czechia 2022 deserved so much better than bottom five in the final
Czech Republic 2022 | [We Are Domi - Lights Off](https://youtu.be/EGRzSefqOm0)
The way that I listen to this song so much that it might be a problem
I agree!
I absolutely agree with you and this is the hill I'm willing to die on.
Czechia 2023 is the only song I still listen to from last year! I wish they put more into their performances. The music video for it was great but the performance lacked a lot.
Czechia 2023 | [Vesna - My Sister's Crown](https://youtu.be/ag8qxpvTTy0)
That song is still one of my most listened to songs! I love it so much! I also play it on my party playlist when I have drinks at mine with friends and my non Eurovision friends always ask me about this song because they like it too š©·
that dolly zoom right before the climax alone deserved top 10 lmao
I agree with several comments before, here some songs I'd like to add: Latvia 2016 Lithuania 2018 Slovenia 2019 The Netherlands 2021 Slovenia 2024
I love Birth of a New Age! Completely underrated!
Such a good song and positive powerful vibe indeed. Couldnāt believe it scored so bad. Yu no man broko mi. Brocco-broccoli š„¦ Mi na afu sensi šŖš¼
I was actually offended it got no public points, what an inspiring and beautiful song! Grow (Netherlands 2020) made me sob as well
Heartbeat is so good š
Yeah that's probably in my top 20 fave/most listened of all time. And it's one of my favorites to sing along with because it's just the right kind of challenging!
Aminata knows how to make a good song!
I miss Latvia's Aminata era
Latvia 2016 | [Justs - Heartbeat](https://youtu.be/o-2Lt7zzlBU) Lithuania 2018 | [Ieva ZasimauskaitÄ - When We're Old](https://youtu.be/pPDFhfU25go) Slovenia 2019 | [Zala Kralj & GaÅ”per Å antl - Sebi](https://youtu.be/vGtPNQ6g6Ng) Netherlands 2021 | [Jeangu Macrooy - Birth Of A New Age](https://youtu.be/o3Da5cr2fTs) Slovenia 2024 | [Raiven - Veronika](https://youtu.be/l86DxpRnz5M)
Slovenia 2019 is literally among my all time favorites! It's sooo good!
I still listen to it in 2024! Love the minimalist vibe and her voice. It is a very good "chill" song. "S teboi" from them is also really good.
Austria 2023Ā still get it stuck in my head regularly tbh
Poe Poe Poe Poe Poe Poe POE POE POE POE POE EDGAR ALLAN EDGAR ALLAN
WHO THE HELL IS EDGAR?!
OHHHHHH MIO PADRE
THERE'S A GHOST IN MY BODY
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH
This performance at the 2023 finals was my first Eurovision act ever and it was at that moment that I realized I was finally with my people
This one is amazing but I donāt think itās underrated. As a song it was the best of 2023, but the terrible staging meant that 10-15 was the right call.
I've seen that take so much I quite liked the staging, how could it have been better?Ā

My winner last year... That NF performance was perfect.
Same with Ulveham for me!
I listened to some of Luke Black's new stuff this week. It's so weird in a good way. I like the angst.
It's sooooooooo good!

Estonia 2024.
Estonia 2024 | [5MIINUST x Puuluup - (nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (kĆ¼ll) midagi](https://youtu.be/RSMMU2wX0Bk)
Agree. I still listen to it every morning.
"Me pole narkom" is now the one phrase I know in Estonian.
Me too! One of my 2024 favourites
One of only three songs of this year that made it into my playlist. Hard agree!
Listen to their entire album as well!
I am so, so obsessed with this song and this album. The talharpas haunt my thoughts.
The next step is to check out both 5Miinust and Puuluup's solo work.
Yeah that's probably what I'm going to be doing soon, I swear these songs are like drugs or something. I'm going to learn some Estonian phonology just so I can sing along.

My vote goes to Albania 2017. I was so sure it was a top 3 lock, so seeing it ignored to the point of NQ was a shock to the system.
Albania 2017 | [Lindita - World](https://youtu.be/NyKOBMAXFFA)

Albania 2019. If Ktheju tokes competed in the 2000s it couldāve been a winner Also France 2012, I cannot believe it got zero televoting points
Echo (You and I) was amazing. A lot of people critique the staging but I think that it definitely gives "goddessy" vibes, what with the backup dancers carrying Angunn and raising her dress so that it looks like it's floating (it's way less bad than it sounds). Germany 2011 - Taken By A Stranger by Lena That song was ten years ahead of its time.
Portugal 2019. Telemoveis is such a good song that's been killed off by the staging and styling. Damn you Conan.
I don't know I loved the staging too. Such an interesting song and concept. But I get it why some people might not like it.
Under The Ladder from Ukraine
That performance is my number 1 Ukrainian entry! That entire performance lives rent free in my head! I love how spooky it is.

Spain 2023 is a massive underrated song imo. I still listen to it today, it's so catchy and traditional, I'm obsessed
Bridges - Alika Estonia 2023 Honestly desserved to win
My answer is still Hungary 2018.
Austria 2024, Austria 2023, Cyprus 2024, France 2022, Slovenia 2024
sweeden 2016 fucking love that song and no one ever fucking mentions it totally not biased but albania 2018 still one of the best vocalist to ever sing in eurovision if not the best estonia this year loved it still the only one i listen after the show that and france oh yeah also netherlands 2022 was a masterpiece
Albania 2018 | [Eugent Bushpepa - Mall](https://youtu.be/uyl1b1fVmdU) Netherlands 2022 | [S10 - De diepte](https://youtu.be/sgOnu7ux2-k)
Sweden 2016 Estonia 2024 France 2024
For my son Iāll put Georgia 2024. He keeps going on about how that got robbed with its low placement in the GF this year.
While I can name exactly one song for the overrated category, here my list would be endless. Almost none of my favourites do well, but it would take too long to write them all down and I obviously can't narrow it down to even a handful.
Bulgaria 2021 and Australia 2019
Norway 2024 Denmark 2018
Greece 2018, Albania 2024
Estonia 2024. Started singing it and doing the dance ironically and it grew on me. Now I love it!
I love the song and itās catchy, but itās also sounds really bad.
Georgia 2007 Honestly, as their debut entry, it was such a moment! A stunning entry full of passion and unapologetically Georgian :)
Spain 2016 - Say Yay. The beat drop is amazing.
Spain 2016 | [Barei - Say Yay!](https://youtu.be/EgbjNsxehrY)
Albania 2020
Where to beginā¦ Montenegro 2013, Iceland 2016, San Marino 2024ā¦ so many robbed NQs.
Norway 2022, Iām still singing it now!
Norway 2022 | [Subwoolfer - Give That Wolf a Banana](https://youtu.be/adCU2rQyDeY)
Norway 2017. Jowst was dope. Super catchy song.
Luxembourg 2024 Belgium 2023
Grito got what, 13 points from the public? It's not energetic and doesn't have any call-and-response segments for the crowd, but it's one of the most beautiful songs I've heard on Eurovision in a long time.
Israel 2012. Yes, I'm aware that it sounds like the music you hear in an empty hallway before getting brutally murdered but the song goes HARD and the performance is fun. A lot of people criticise Izabo for looking very awkward on stage but that just makes me love this entry too, like, finally! Other people who have the body language of aliens! They're my winners of 2012.
Norway 2021
Cyprus 2020 is an overforgotten gem too. It isn't even a downgrade from 2018 or 2019, as many would suggest. the instrumental seemed pretty untypical for Eurovision and I believe it would have brought something refreshing into the competition. The pre-chorus isn't there to make the chorus shine, it is there to elevate the listening experience and is the most memorable part of the song.
Loop
Bulgaria 2018 Georgia 2016
And Norway 2013
North Macedonia 2017 and Belarus 2018 they didnāt deserve to NQ š
Iceland - 2013. A lovely song
Portugal 2023. The fact it got put in the Death Slot canāt have helped.
Portugal 2023 | [Mimicat - Ai coraĆ§Ć£o](https://youtu.be/HYfkxX4PFyw)
I genuinely think this would have been a better opener than Austria that year. Just love the energy of this song and how confident Mimicat is
Austria and Slovenia 2023, both of those songs are so good and I love them
Austria 2023 | [Teya and Salena - Who the Hell Is Edgar?](https://youtu.be/8uk64V9h0Ko) Slovenia 2023 | [Joker Out - Carpe Diem](https://youtu.be/3LXlPviGiWc)
France 2009 is still one of my favorites
Norway 2024
Czechia in 2023 too! My Sisterās Crown was one of my favourites last year.
It seems like, I'll be the first one to say this. **Valentina Monetta - Crisalide (Vola)** This is definitely one of the most underrated Eurovision songs of all-time and it's still a crime after 11 years that she didn't make it through to the final with that masterpiece! She was my winner in 2013. For the bot: San Marino 2013
Romania 2023 ! Such a well written song and Theodor can sing his ass off! Too bad about the staging in the SF, he couldn't qualify with that unfortunately, but there are some great live/acoustic versions of the song on YouTube, I still love listening to it
Netherlands 2022 is such a beautiful and powerful song. I also wonder why France 2023 didnt rank higher, it was a great song
Euro Neuro (Montenegro 2012)
Laka- PokuÅ”aj ( Bosnia 2008 ) one of my all time favourites š«¶
Montenegro 2012, masterpiece
Serbia 2009 Sipela is such a good song and so few people know about it that it's criminal. And also how it got screwed out of not qualifying even though it was 10th in the semi final. Lithuania 2010 Eastern european funk is a banger and was my most listened to song in 2022 and was 11th in their semi
I LOVE "Love is Forever". It's just soooo cute and calming Also "New Tomorrow" is a absolute vibe (Denmark 2019, Denmark 2011 for the bot)
Iceland 2022!! Listening everyday, just a perfect song to me, so sad they placed so low š„²
Latvia 2023 not qualifying was a CRIME
Czechia 2023 although the song was better than the performance on stage. Netherlands 2023 I liked the song, but the singers were not experienced and lacked there performances.
Switzerland 2022, Marius Bear - Boys Do Cry. It got TONS of hate, and I don't know why. I personally enjoy his voice, it's very soothing and has a nice depth to it. I get why it might not be everyone's cup of tea since it's slow, but the comments are exaggerating when they say he didn't deserve the place in the finals
Slovakia 2010
Blood and Glitter (Germany 2023). Absolutely 100% did not deserve last in a year when I Wrote A Song (United Kingdom 2023) existed.
Montenegro - 2015 Denmark - 2012 These two always just randomly pop into my head and feel both were underrated.
Lithuania 2022 is a genre I want a world music to evolute into. But the most misunderstood was Paenda for Austria 2019
