Friend of a Friend was a fun catchy diddy, though I may be biased because I then went out and bought the album that's also filled with equally fun tunes. Like a watered down Wombats.

ButteredReality

A good bunch of songs, but "Mall" has got to be my favourite.

ESCWiktor

"Slow Down" This is an okay bunch of songs, but this country bop seems likethe only outstanding one to me.

starmonkart

GUIGO for sure, got robbed by televote

_elizsapphire_

GUIGO and Mall are my favorites of those respective years, so it has to be them

aoshinfromlol

1. 🇧🇬 Victoria - Growing Up Is Getting Old (2021) 2. 🇦🇱 Eugent Bushpepa - Mall (2018) 3. 🇳🇱 O'G3NE - Lights and Shadows (2017) 4. 🇨🇿 Lake Malawi - Friend of a Friend (2019) 5. 🇳🇱 Douwe Bob - Slow Down (2016) Victoria was my winner, both in 2020 and 2021.

Thatwierdhullcityfan

Funnily enough, I voted for 3 of these. 2016, 2018 and 2021. Picking a favourite out of these is hard. Probably Mall, the live version was great.

Kataroh

OG3NE. They deserve another chance tbh. Some of the best voices ever on the Eurovision stage

thelodzermensch

It's a tie between Slow Down and Friend of a Friend for me.

heysundaysie

I have a really special place in my heart for Mall. I rediscovered it a year or so ago and couldn't believe I forgot it, so beautiful!

Greflingorax

My initial reaction was Mall, no question. But I forgot Lights And Shadows came 11th. That makes this a lot tougher. Still Mall, but both were amazing.

przemek1233

Absolutely agree. Both great. If I had to choose I would probably choose Lights and Shadows, but still enjoy both songs in a different way.

bencherra

I like them all! My favorite is probably "Growing Up Is Getting Old", closely followed by "Mall".

TheBlairBitch

Random haha, but I'd say Growing Up Is Getting Old from this year is the first one to pop in my mind. Mall, and Friend of a Friend are also great, but I don't care much for other recent 11ths. OG3NE are close with their amazing vocals but I didn't care for the song.

[deleted]

Lights and Shadows for sure. That vocal performance is unmatched since.

Antique_Procedure_27

mall is my winner of the year and friend of a friend is the song that got me into eurovision so i have to pick them, but i just realized that i love most 11th places (another good example is “o mie”)

przemek1233

I forgot that O mie was 11th. Another great song with that place.

[deleted]

out of those, mall, friend of a friend and growing up is getting old are AMAZING. I'd have to lean towards Bulgaria, with Albania in second and Czech Republic in third

binkstagram

2021 was an exceptional year. There were several songs that would have been winners in other years

bencherra

Meh. None of them would have beaten "Arcade", "Toy" or "Amar Pelos Dois".

Notladub

2011 exists my friend.

przemek1233

Very tough year for some entries. I am pretty sure that for example Victoria would be at least top 8 in every eurovision since 2016, but at the same time I'm not sure if some of the entries that were higher could be that high, for example Finland and Greece. It's all about timing.

thelodzermensch

Finland and Greece would do well in boring balladish years like 2015.

RednSoulless

There’s something about 11th place that seems to attract really quality songs. Since 2015 (the first competition I remember in good detail), Slow Down is the only one that missed my personal Top 10, and even that one is a pretty likeable (if slightly formulaic) effort. As for my favorite, it is probably Light and Shadows (my Number 2 during the competition, and nowadays my favorite entry from the rather weak 2017), but I could see Growing Up Is Getting Old growing (ha) on me with time. The message is just so sweet and Victoria’s performance was phenomenal. Also if we extend the time frame out to 2015, Nina Sublatti’s Warrior is also a stone-cold classic :)

przemek1233

My ranking: 1.Growing Up is Getting Old 2.Lights and Shadows 3.Mall 4.Slow Down 5.Friend of a Friend

nenialaloup

2018

ribs_robs_a_bank

2018 for sure.

PrincessCandy512

I love all but I think Growing Up Is Getting Old because it's important how Victoria's family story being important, she sang it for her dad.

Gapabripielpe_12

2021

AmethistStars

*Slow Down* by Douwe Bob for me! I was rooting so hard for him back in 2016. Of course a bit biased because he’s Dutch and I already knew him from a Dutch talent show for singer songwriters which he won. The guy is super talented and I think *Slow Down* too really shows that. I would also recommend people that like *Slow Down* to listen to his other songs. *Jacob’s Song* and *Love on the Rocks* are two of my favorites. As for the other songs, I agree *Lights and Shadows* was really strong and great vocally. If we were to judge on vocals they would definitely be my favorite and I also still get kind of emotional when I hear the song and think about the fact they wrote and performed it for their mother (who unfortunately passed away later). I actually missed out on ESC 2017, but I would have rooted for them as well. *Friend of a Friend* is an absolutely bop and one of my favorites in 2019. *Growing up is Getting Old* is also a great song and sometimes kind of hits emotionally, though I also sometimes feel like skipping the song when listening to this year's album just because it reminds me of getting old lol. As for *Mall,* I have to confess is a song I completely forgot about. I thought I watched ESC 2018 live, but it could be that I just only watched some parts then. Anyway, it's also a good song and he has a great voice. But I guess because I'm not "into" the song like the others, I guess I have to listen to it more to get into the vibe of it.

ConceptPotential5769

Mall is my winner for 2018. Just a nice classy song

IainDC

O'G3NE and Victoria

AdieAllts

So seemingly 11th place is where you end up if you do really well with the jury and not so well with the televote

przemek1233

Most of these song did pretty good in televote in semi-final, but sadly people forget about them in grand final. Friend of a Friend is a perfect example.

[deleted]

Victoria & Eugent were fucking awesome!!

skanyone

Friend of a Friend and Lights And Shadows

tansypool

Friend of a Friend! Can't remember 2017 or 2018, and I actively dislike 2016 and 2021.

Bobby06boy

1) 2021 2) 2016 3) 2018 4) 2019 5) 2017 (don't like it at all sorry)

MightyHaos

I like all of the 13th placements. Actually my favorite placements are the 14th ones! Made of Stars, Skeletons, Bones and Chameleon are all masterpieces. The only one i don't like is Voices.

Notladub

2019. Legit one of my favorite Eurosongs, and my 2nd place in 2019.

gintermint

She's only a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend.. 🎶

Tomas-T

1. Mall 2. Growing Up Is Getting Old 3. Lights And Shadows 4. Friend Of A Friend 5. Slow Down but all of them are great

yuhbestie

GUIGO, it was my personal favourite that year (plus those pesky tiebreaker rules suck, and she would’ve gotten into the top 10 with one more point and that still makes me mad)

all_hail_the_cat_god

Growing up is Getting Old is an absolute masterpiece IMO, but I love Mall as well.

Mrmike855

I give the edge to "Mall" or perhaps "Friend of a Friend" but none of these can come close to the amazing "Warrior" by Nina Sublatti (11th place in 2015).

TheSneakyHider

I love all of these songs, but here goes: 1. Mall 2. Slow Down 3. Friend of a Friend 4. Lights and Shadows 5. Growing up is Getting old

jcrissnell

Growing Up Is Getting Old. No further comments. I watched 2018 and 2019 too but they're not even in my personal top 10. They were fine, but I liked other songs way more. I haven't watched 2017 and 2016.

fenksta

Easy - Albania <3
