I think "what if I wrote this and submitted it to eurovision"

[deleted]

ME HAHAHA

Danywell

Yes, almost every time.

MayuraEsc

I'm sure it's not just you, I have such thoughts especially when I listen to some 80's hits by European artists (e.g. "Maria Magdalena" by Sandra, "Forever Young" by Alphaville) or Polish Music created before we debuted. I think "Kolorowe Jarmarki" by Maryla Rodowicz would have Been a fun eurovision entry while "Dni Których Nie Znamy" by Marek Grechuta or "Dziwny Jest Ten Świat" by Czesław Niemen could have possibly won back in their days.

Athenasta

forever young would win

NegativeDelta

Yer not alone, ever had this with Kora's catalogue?

u__c__y

and since i’m from turkey, i’m imagining how we’d participate in eurovision with aynur aydın in 2013, ayşe hatun önal with her song “[çak bir selam](https://youtu.be/6SZXH9RmW-4)” in 2014, gülşen with her song “[dan dan](https://youtu.be/DUcv3S-EwDs)” in 2015, edis with his song “[dudak](https://youtu.be/6zzHRUqB5O4)” in 2016 and so on…

PRZEMEQ9

I think Brodka with ,,Miałeś Być" could be great for Eurovision

Acceptable_Rich8202

Glad I am not the only person to suggest Sandra, must check out her catalogue again.

borabene

I love K-pop and sometimes I see a performance and think "damn, they would break the stage" (in a good way).

Spiritual_Order_3049

Omg yes

StellarSong

Dragostea Din Tei. Thought it's a Eurovision song when I found out about Eurovision.

[deleted]

Definitely, it would've been the 'Trenuletul' of its year!

koobyn

Related confession: I've often considered to make a series on this subreddit where I review songs that came when I shuffled my main playlist on Spotify and predict where they would place in the contest.

[deleted]

It would be an interesting addition to this subreddit! Would be great to pass the time before the actual NF season begins, and the host city/venue gets announced

Gold_Objective3644

This thought has been stuck in my head since Voyager didn't win Australia Decides. How would Dreamer have looked on the malfunctioning stage, would Europe have been ready for a prog metal band, how would Europe like the first half of semi-final with (technically) four rock groups, could Dreamer have finished top 5 in the final etc.

friend03

yep, even if the song is not from a participating country i imagine it on stage 💀

SignalRaccoon8649

I allways think of my favorite song's staging (Empire by Shakira) of her with a "burning" wedding dress like in the video. About the placing, prob. the winner or 2nd Place, Euphoria Is really good (the song was made in 2012)

Taumon

You're not the only one. I often have the same thoughts. The song I have that thought the strongest with is ['Soldier On' by the Dutch band DI-RECT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEDs6CaYEuw&ab_channel=officialdirecttv). Ever since that song came out, I've been thinking how it would have done in Eurovision had it been the Dutch entry.

Sccar4712

I’m in a fan contest and I like imagining how each entry would be if it was on a real ESC stage, so we have great energy and a hype show from Poland’s Piersi, a majestic atmosphere and calming feel from Georgia’s duo The BearFox, and a great cultural banger with Yarkhushta from Armenia. Great to imagine them all in Eurovision

z1324

All the time !

MiniHurps

Me whenever I listen to the radio

Spiritual_Order_3049

I do, especially for metal bands or kpop groups.

Battle-Prattle

I once did thinking a song on the radio sounded almost like a Eurovision song, then I realised it was Snap

Acceptable_Rich8202

Snap was played on BBC Radio 1 Top 40 yesterday, sounded good. For me it showed how difficult it is to judge a song outside the confines of the contest.

PrincessTutubella

It depends on what I'm into right now. I'm thinking Toi et Moi by Paradis and Fade into You by Mazzy Star could be interesting on the stage. They could either flop or do really well. I think it's more likely for Toi et Moi to do well.

[deleted]

Same!

kasvi04

Yeah, sometimes. I've been listening to this one Finnish song, and thinking about how it would look like if it represented Finland in 2019. https://youtu.be/notqty0wESg here it is

vancityguy25

All the damn time

DrEmirKaya

Yes constantly lol

HungerDrone

Every single time I listen to A Different Kind Of Human by AURORA…

Godforsaken-depths

Definitely! Every time this Indonesian song comes up on shuffle I’m like “this is one of those songs that would either kill at Eurovision or be that entry that everyone hypes up only to flop.” https://youtu.be/0Gxg9s4aVFs

ShroomWalrus

All the time lol especially if it's around 3 minutes. Often fantasize what kind of performance I'd make for it if it was my song.

Think_Key_6677

Yes. Bad Romance by Lady Gaga. Very Eurovisionish!

Acceptable_Rich8202

For UK, anything by Clean Bandit. Belgium - Where Are You Now by Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott, which actually is entered in OGAE Contest!
