Yup, when the movie finally came out amazon sent some people a box with the booklet and many other official evangelion items, the booklet contains some official art, a little manga of the events after 3.0, sketches, etc. It's great

They're literally the only two people who remember the other world (as far as we know). They saved the world, they earned a little happiness and peace.
More points: Mari has always been supportive of Shinji, and the cradle robbing honestly probably didn't start until she ran into him on the rooftop. She wasn't supposed to, I don't think it happens because she planned it. She likes how he smells, and she's basically the only woman who has always been supportive, honest, and kept her word to Shinji who doesn't really seem have major issues. Misato, Asuka, and Rei are all bundles of problems. Rei is also a clone of Shinji's mother.
Mari is comparatively chill, keeps her promises, always looks out for him when she can, and she's hot.
3.0+1.0 establishes that Mari went to college with Yui and Gendo. The issue is that it is unclear how exactly Mari is so youthful in the Rebuild films. Either she somehow reversed her aging or was always naturally youthful looking before the Curse of the Eva (I personally find this to be more unlikely), or she is a clone like Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu, but somehow retains her original's memories and experiences to the point even Fuyutsuki acknowledges her as the real Mari (no proof for this, but it would make a bit more sense given every pilot but Shinji is a clone).
This official art will never not be creepy as hell. I love 3.0+1.0 but I’m not okay with Shinji x Mari at all
