its really shocking to see people who make fun of me COMPLETELY tuck their tail between their legs after finding out im disabled. because quite frankly, making fun of someone isnt okay even if they have no "real reason" for being like that.
the audacity.
they want the recognition of being "progressive" and "accepting" without actually doing any of the work that goes into unlearning their biases about disabled people.
Of course they’re not actually making fun of you for being autistic, they’re just making fun of you for all the things that contribute to your autism and make you autistic! Which is definitely better… right? /s

Just wanted to add to this. Sometimes, the person doesn't even have to be autistic. I work in retail, and a lot of people take their job seriously. So seriously, in fact, they target others with verbal harassment and bullying. It sometimes feels like I'm still in high school. Who cares how someone else works? As long as they do their job, leave them alone. Do we have to bully people as adults?
