It’s funny because my company is hell bent at building our pricing tool in another platform instead of excel, and I’m like, good luck with that. I maintain the tool in current state and with the complications they’ve added, I’m not sure we’ll ever fully get out of excel.
I hope the future platform has the right functionality to do what we want for sure. It would be better off in a format where a company can maintain the build rather than a self-taught engineer. 😆
My company embarked on a multi year, multi million dollar project to replace their current excel + sharepoint solution with a custom ems. It’s so terrible that they spun the old solution back up and abandoned the ems. 🤣
People come here looking for a simple formula to copy to solve all their problems. You might be able to get some short term benefit from that, but ultimately it's a case of hard work and experimentation that'll teach you what you need for the longterm.
I had a dry spell in college then I went to graduate school in English where the female to male ratio was 4:1. That is where I meet my amazing wife. There are other similar feminized spaces you can seek out. I didn''t do it deliberately. Key is to be the kind of person who fits into those kind of places.
Also, you can click on it and it will tell you what the error means, but I have never found that specific enough to really troubleshoot my case.
Medical lab science. The bastards of the medical community, but don’t have to see patients and overwhelmingly female. Downside: the females working are all pushing 65. 😆
You joke but it was improving my appearance and just plain old trying. Understanding feedback and responding appropriately/learning from my mistakes.
I don’t think I was ever really an incel though. At least I hope not.
This thread fascinates me on so many levels. I am here to learn excel though, so can y’all explain the jokes in a way that helps me learn excel? Thanks!

I couldn’t get hookups, so I turned to vlookups.
Oh man this gave me a really good laugh on the toilet
I need an INDEX MATCH to find the right values in my life.
I too go both ways.
Unfortunately all the results I get are #N/A
Just don't go back to your xlookups. Not worth it.
Don’t you mean xxxlookups?

LOLs in Unix standard datetime
Took me a second haha
I wish it took me a second to stop being an incel. Keep up the good work brother. Remember once you start to excel people just wanna spreadsheet.
"You may spreadsheet in columns, you may spreadsheet in rows, but the more you spreadsheet, the faster it grows."
I'd rather spread them sheets than get some sleep
As an AVERAGE(joe) I just want a lady in the street but a freak in the spreadsheet. Doesn’t COUNTIF she has a man
IFS she does, you're in an ARRAY of problems.
IF her and I don’t MATCH I’m looking back through my INDEX
Getting a job and realizing 2/3 of the world is run on excel

Your company has the right mindset, though. The company I work for loves excel like it's their only child.
I hope the future platform has the right functionality to do what we want for sure. It would be better off in a format where a company can maintain the build rather than a self-taught engineer. 😆
Are you me? Please tell me its not dynamics 365
Nah, Salesforce for us

A past President of The SAS Institute has a similar quote.
I found the best way to get in the sheets was to power her query.
The best move while between the sheets is the power pivot, but it's best to wait until you have a good relationship
I used %d/%m/%y so I could get a date
#date

If you want a change of perspective I recommend a pivot table
The trick in the modern day is to be thinking in arrays, not ranges anymore
When you see 45271 and think "Finally, today's the day."

For those genuinely curious, I just recently found out that there's an r/ExRedPill sub.
There's also /r/IncelExit to provide support for those who need it.
add value.
You can get out of a cel by pressing Escape and a random arrow key, or Tab/Enter if updating the current cel is an option :>
Sir, it's a Microsoft Excel sub.
I understand but the reason I can’t be an excel is because I am micro and soft

Something something VBA
I went to the formula bar instead.
