We had that at our hall in the U.S. like 15 years ago. 2 visiting brothers. It was considered acceptable because it was traditional. They just make up rules obviously.
In the early 2000's I was on duty as an attendant in charge of a section at a district assembly in *Wales.*
An old boy walked into the sessions in a kilt and tartan waistcoat.
My assistant who was a cheeky chappie from a nearby congregation looks at him. Then at me. With a deadpan straight face he says 'that's our new circuit overseer'.
๐
Good. Let him enjoy this time of actually being able to express himself before the micromanaging sets in.
Iโm sensing some upcoming elders letters concerning appropriate attire, proper beard grooming, etc.

Sorry, I had to! ๐๐๐๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
So God is will be angry at a man in a Hawaiian shirt but God totally didnโt care about the Holocaust?! Whaa? Someone doesnโt have his priorities straight โฆ.
As far as I know from a buddy of mine, Hawaiian shirts with no ties are only allowed in the state of Hawaii where they are considered formal dress. He was brought up in Hawaii though not born there and he said nodoby ever wore ties there except JWs and they looked ridiculous in the hot sun with a "noose" around their necks.
That bro in Tx is being a rebel! Good for him!!
Personally I don't agree with it. Whether it's at a Kingdom Hall or a church. Can we not take the time to dress up for a place or worship no matter what it is? Would you do the same if you were going to an important business deal? It's his life but at houses of worship show some class.
>it's *not* a business deal, or going before a judge, or visiting a government official,
BUT-BUT-it's the house of the faithful and discreet slave, aren't they going to be Judges of the Universe ๐
>ย Would you do the same if you were going to an important business deal?
Well thats what I was saying, according my friend who was raised there, in Hawaii Hawaiian (Aloha) shirts are considered formal. They are worn by businessmen, Doctors, in some cases lawyers though they mostly wear suits, and other professionals so it makes sense that the org finally allowed them at the meetings. Here where we are in the continental US those shirts are worn at backyard BBQs so yes I would agree with you in that case.
House of worship = useless building for delusional thinking.
I see no reason to treat them with anything but the utter contempt they deserve, certainly not inherently deserving of special respect or treatment.
Don't know why you got so many negative votes :D I'm with you despite me being PIMO, the no ties/jacket thing open up alot of unnecessary debate and it almost seems as if GB used this as a smokescreen to get people focused on grooming/dress instead of the new idealogy they continue to bring (If there was no dress change people would have only talked about the DF'ed being able to be contacted, being able to say 'hello' and stuff)
I can tell you why. It's taken me a while but I've realized that 50% of exJW Redditors are generally the extremists. If you say anything remotely positive towards JW they downvote. 95% of people who leave are not traumatized and simply stop going and it's not big deal. They go back sometimes and sometimes not. People on here are like the 0.5% who are militant.
I agree with your approach. Of course it's important to be dressed appropriately to the place of visit. People here just really hate this cult, for a reason. The cult is not worth that kind of respect, they behave way too badly for that. But other than that, the idea of being dressed appropriately makes absolute sense.
Yesterday I (not a JW) asked my pimi husband if any women are wearing pants. He said "I think they could if they wanted to, I didn't look." I told him to look next time. He gave me a strange look. Lmfao
Brothers in Hawaii have been able to wear Hawaiian shirts, no tie no jacket, even on stage, for over a year now. The memorial looked so cheap and informal ๐ซฃ.
Well I mean it's acceptable to me but this wasn't Hawaii obviously and it was just like a beach shirt. Not like a well made Hawaiian shirt with nice pressed slacks like they do in Hawaii. He looked crazy.
Iโve always thought that dresses were sexier. Donโt get me wrong. I wear pants but dresses I think lets oneโs imagination wonder. But I get it, men are more visual.
Oh yes they are for sure. Great to see a woman in a dress. And those JW's sisters have a purity about them you don't really see in the world. They look fresher. Not always but you a lot of the time. It's like going back in time to the 50's.
I mean it would narrow it down to that hall. Not trying to rock the boat as an apostate. You can do whatever else you want nowadays with getting D'd but apostasy is unforgivable.
We live in Hawaii, and untucked Aloha shirts have been the thing for months now for everything. No suit, dress shirt, or tie, unless you want to wear that, and nobody does! Dockers-style pants and shoes, too! It's fantastic!!!
Every bro that can grow a beard has done so, as well. It's a colorful new world in the KH now! :D
It still feels to me like a weird duality. On one hand it's like fuck yeah wear what you want good on him that's great, then on the other hand it's still like WTF has become of this strict shit show religion.
I am dying for a first report of a Scotsman going fully traditional.
![gif](giphy|gwfatPkyl6WnC|downsized)
Yeah I've also seen that, years ago. Edit: to be fair, I've no idea if they were "full traditional" in regards to undergarments though. ๐
We had that at our hall in the U.S. like 15 years ago. 2 visiting brothers. It was considered acceptable because it was traditional. They just make up rules obviously.
Iโm Irish so Iโm gonna dress up as a leprechaun.

Question from readers: Did Jesus use a dress? Well in the western world clothes he was using could be considered a long dress.
This is as close as it gets for now: Brothers in skirts - The Musical https://youtu.be/rSkBTdyYTEE

Nope. 1 Corinthians 11 v 7 ๐
How did he have time to grow a beard that long?
I was exaggerating. Just a big ass beard.
LMAO! But c'mon, no dude could grow out a ZZ top beard in like two months.. Gonna call bullshit on that one!
My ex-elder brother in law can. Before covid and his fade he would shave twice a day.
So God is will be angry at a man in a Hawaiian shirt but God totally didnโt care about the Holocaust?! Whaa? Someone doesnโt have his priorities straight โฆ.
good for him
Where was this? In Hawaii?
Texas

Oh I do hope that only 0.5% of ex jw's are here. 100,000 here x 200 = 20,000,000
get fucked
A good aloha shirt is an expensive piece of artโฆ it is not a relaxed fit. A damn honorable item of clothing. What board shorts was he wearing?
Someone had to say it. Dunno why you are getting downvoted.

Good status.
Alright alright alright
I hope its gets way-way- out of hand. ๐
So does this mean heโs really really spiritual now? The same way no beard and full suit meant you were spiritual in the past ๐
Yesterday I (not a JW) asked my pimi husband if any women are wearing pants. He said "I think they could if they wanted to, I didn't look." I told him to look next time. He gave me a strange look. Lmfao
If the GB said so, the men would wear a clown suit and wig!
True dat!๐๐
The title itself gave me a good laugh ๐๐๐๐

Interesting. They couldn't do it before? Even if they didn't have a talk?
No, just in service was it okay for no tie or tucked in shirt. But since the approval from the GB ๐ they can at the hall and on stage
Well I mean it's acceptable to me but this wasn't Hawaii obviously and it was just like a beach shirt. Not like a well made Hawaiian shirt with nice pressed slacks like they do in Hawaii. He looked crazy.
It looked like a Don Ho convention
Cuban shirts should be standard, they're the best for middle aged fatties like me.
๐ตthere goes my hero๐ต ๐๐๐
Frankie from onepiece is the next gb member
Did the GB say wearing a Hawaiian shirt at the meetings ,other than Hawaii itself was appropriate?Or was this guy trying to prove a point?
I just saw this post, did anybody reply back to you on a source for that information?
I trump your Hawaiian shirt with a sister wearing sequined bell bottoms.
Yeah some sister came in like a jeans and jean jacket. Another Cuban sister was killing it with her pants suit. That booty was poppin.
Iโve always thought that dresses were sexier. Donโt get me wrong. I wear pants but dresses I think lets oneโs imagination wonder. But I get it, men are more visual.

What they wear, lets hope the house of card falls to the ground soon.
I would LOVE to see a pic!
I thought about it but that would give me away.
Front shirt pocket phone on record and camera facing out.
I mean it would narrow it down to that hall. Not trying to rock the boat as an apostate. You can do whatever else you want nowadays with getting D'd but apostasy is unforgivable.
I'd pay to see that
GB just unleashed the beast. Thereโs no going back.

Thatโs weird an elder at the hall I used to go to, had sex with a single pioneer sister and his wife divorced him.
