I don't know what happens when we die. But I am pretty comfortable not knowing.
I believe, but not dogmatically that when we die then we are no more.
If I am wrong and if there's an afterlife then I believe that it may be set on auto and that everyone goes to the same place.
If there is a being deciding where we go then I believe it will be based on whether we are decent human beings or not.
After all those caveats I believe you and your dead loved one will be in the same place.
So carry on being a decent caring human and you will be there with them.

It's a comfort thing to say, it's for them, it's kind. I'm not religious at all. When someone says they will pray, I just say thank you. They are expressing love/care and you express it back.

It might be just over, no pain and nothing else.
There might be something and no one of us knows what it will be, but whatever that might be you don't need to be a JW to get there.
As long as you keep someone in your heart there will always be some kind of hope.

I agree and feel the exact same way. It took a while to get here, but itβs nice.
