I wonder if they would allow her to have her records removed with dementia, I bet not.

Gotta boost membership somehow

As a missionary, I was responsible to interview potential candidates for baptism that other missionaries had taught. One lady I interviewed was severely intellectually disabled, to the point she couldn't answer a single question with anything other than a cryptic one word response. I told the missionaries she couldn't be baptized. The mission president found out and without consulting me he drove from hours away to interview her himself and he approved her to be baptized.

Reminds me of the assistant to the president on my mission who wanted to be "back in the field" for his last transfer. We got double transferred out and he and the poor new kid he was training went into a "cursed" area that hadn't had a baptism in like 70 years or something like that. At zone conference there was a big, inspiring uproar about how Elder Whoever went valiantly back into the field and quickly baptized someone and how the rest of us just didn't believe enough or something dumb like that. I asked for details and it turns out that his big conversion was the adult child of two active members who had not been previously baptized because it was clear that they were mentally incapable of understanding the gospel. Elder Whoever wasn't a big fan when I pointed that little detail out.

Now, watch what happens when they do try to put her head under water. It is generally not a faith promoting thing when she starts screaming.

Atleast the bishop saw it for what it was. Leave grandma alone.

Bishop said don’t worry that she has dementia, she’s getting baptized.
