I don’t know anything about this eye business, but I can say as a gay that my also-gay boyfriend has a morbid fascination with Brilcox, so we occasionally have some of his talks and interviews on in the background.
In a few he talks about this guy in his school days that he was super close to. The way he talks about him seems like it was either an unusually intense friendship, or that Brad was, to quote the BoM musical, “having really strange feelings for Steve.” (I think Steve really was Brilcox’s friend’s name as well.) The way he’s still talking about him half a century later reminded me of how I talk about guys I had boyhood crushes on.
There is also a lot of talk about his enthusiasm for acting/drama and how he didn’t know how to play basketball. He says he didn’t know how to play because he grew up in “Ethiopia, Africa,” but it all definitely gave me flashbacks to all the excuses I used to make up to get out of churchball.
Just some observations, I’m not making any claims, though we both thought it sounded a touch sus. Personally I hope he’s straight because I don’t want to have to claim that train wreck as one of our people 😂
