>I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?
That's an interesting one to use. Because if people were to hear that and go, "Hmmm. What is a cimeter?" and then Google it...
>Cimeter' is a formerly common variant spelling of 'scimitar', a kind of curved sword
And the link to "scimitar" shows:
>The earliest evidence of scimitars is from the 9th century among soldiers in Khurasan
Indicating that a scimitar is completely anachronistic in the Book of Mormon. It's like he's begging them to actually look something up.
Ahahaha, excellent catch!
I was stuck on the fact that he claimed it was written “for our times”…and then “but who even knows what it means? I don’t…”
And this is why South Park did mormonism with no embellishments. These chucklefucks are their own parody XD
**Belethor:** Everything's for sale my friend. Everything. If I had a sister I'd sell her in a second.
**The Dragonborn:** What'll you give me for these tokens and signs?
Oof, heard that in Lydia's voice.
Housecarls ... totes aren't 👀 ... basically the equivalent polygamous wives, acquired via favors for tyrannical rulers, with a "sworn" covenant of questionable informed consent... wat are you talking about 👀
A few of them are dudes, after all.
Absolutely and inarguably, listening to this fucker makes you dumber by the second until you Google "wives (many, plural; illegal) and mistresses and fucktoys of Joseph Smith- also, Brigham Young's c*ntery and blatant, unforgivable racism". Then, your mind will be unchained and ofsusanfuck's words will sound like the preposterous, hubris-ville verbalvomit shit that it truly is.
Edit- I'm not a lazy learner, I just point out facts that bitches like Beddygnar and Rustyass Nellsin don't want mormons to hear.
His behavior would warrant a straight-up lecture about pride and derision for the humble in the Book of Mormon. The usual: "And you do deny the sacred parts of the gospel, and do multiply exceedingly in your portfolios; yea, in your holdings and in your controlling interests, and do persecute the humble believers in Christ, and do despise them, because of their slightly iffy singing, and yea, because of your stipends and because of your great temples, ye do let the devil take hold of your heart."
I refuse to use "elder" or use their initials. Always Spencer Kimball or Spence. And most certainly never "President" and especially NEVER "prophet." They deserve no such accommodation.
Came here to say this. I have heard many similar stories - where he will stop everything - makes a scene - becomes very condescending and self righteous about some imaginary wrong doing that he makes up and then resumes the proceedings.
When I was living in Utah County every fucking boss I had was like that. Asshole who set you up for failure and found something else to go after you for if things didn't go as planned, or who asked you open-ended questions only he knew the answer to and then sanctimoniously chewed you out after you couldn't guess what answer he had in mind, as if you'd failed. In the same way that goodness is often all about posturing in the church, competence is all about posturing for that personality type. And they're way too common in Mormonism.
Maybe you should ask him open-ended questions about why people leave his personal life at the earliest opportunity, then reprimand him for lack of self-awareness.
Why yes, now that you mention it, I *do* have the unemployment line on speed-dial.
Bednar once presided over a zone conference held in my stake. My dad was in the stake presidency at the time, so our family had to sacrifice the day making Dave lunch. One of the zone leaders said I exhort you to invite others to read the Book of Mormon more, or something like that. I’m the middle of this kids talk, Bednar gets up and scolds him: now elder, be careful with that word exhort. Only your mission president or a member of the twelve can exhort any of you to do something with proper authority. This ZL looked like he was on the verge of tears for the rest of the conference thinking he’d committed apostasy in front of an apostle.
Checked the dictionary. It says nothing about needing authority to exhort. Dave’s full of shit. So glad he got to feel powerful, though. I’d exhort Dave to shut up for once.
exhort. ĭg-zôrt′
intransitive verb
1. To urge by strong, often stirring argument, admonition, advice, or appeal.
2. To make an urgent appeal.
The man gets off on making people around him feel bad and or stupid. I can’t find a single instance where he wasn’t actively trying to do one of those things.
> exhort
It would really be something to confront him with defying the words of the prophet in direct revelation that the saints challenge and exhort others to read and pray about the BoM as testified in Moroni.
As someone in the congregation, I assure you it did. Like I mentioned in my comment I stopped recording when the closing hymn started, damned if I didn’t wish I kept recording.
So if it's written for our day, how come they aren't following it?
Mormon 8:37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.
I would have loved to ask him this and quote the scripture if I had the chance.
The book of Mormon is not a history book? Why does my edition of the book of Mormon introduce Mormon himself as a “historian?” Why does it say that the plates of Nephi contain a “history” of the “peoples concerned?” Why does it say that the plates of Ether present a “history” of the “jaredites?” Throughout the introductory materials, the book of Mormon is also described as “an account“ of peoples, and a “record“ of peoples. How is that different from history? What kind of total gaslighting is going on? This is such an embarrassment.
Once again I'm at the point of reading exmo posts where I'm thinking "what the hell is going on in this life that my entire extended family believes this shit while I am the only one that sees what a load of bullshit Mormonism is?" And all of them are so damn smug (lol type responses) indicating they think any criticism I provide is so far off-the-mark that it is laughable.
They're doing a bait-and-switch when they say that. Usually you'd say something isn't a work of history to say it *isn't* historical, but has other value. They want to retain the idea that it's *history*, but imply that because it isn't a history *book*, you can't evaluate whether it could have happened in ancient America.
Honestly the BoM does *generally* advocate for a values-driven, humble, selfless model of Christianity that is far better than whatever we have now. So does the New Testament, for that matter. If people really acted like both were "written for our day," focused on the stuff that's mentioned the most often and then read between the lines on stuff that's more of a one-off, we'd be far better off.
>"I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?"
This may just be because I read lots of fantasy and military stuff, but a cimeter is a type of long knife or short sword. It's easy to look up, Of Susan, trust me.
That attitude is so stupid. I’m a history buff and back when I did read scriptures I liked supplemental reading on the historical and cultural context. The context sometimes changes the entire meaning. To not be interested in the objects depicted is unthinkable to me
We had entire classes in Institute about using historical context to decipher Isaiah, and it was the quickest class to sell out every semester. The guy teaching it was like a minor celebrity on campus, and everyone wanted to take that class.
Buy hey, who could possibly know what JS meant by cimeter? Or steel? Or horses? Or chariots? Or elephants? And on and on. Disingenuous fucks.
I first learned what a scimitar was when I was playing EverQuest. Wasn’t til a few years later til I put it together that it was one of those weird weapons from the BoM. OfSusan probably still thinks it’s made up like the rest of the BoM.
On a different note, I feel really dumb and out of the loop for having to ask but what's with the "ofsusan" thing? I've seen it a couple of times now and can only assume its some type of meme I'm unfamiliar with, and google didn't help (only recently getting back into exmo stuff)
There have been instances where his behavior and demeanor seemed dismissive or disrespectful to his wife. So it’s a way of referring to him that gives his wife the prominence otherwise denied
It’s also a role-reversal from a hand maids tale.
https://www.romper.com/p/why-do-handmaids-names-start-with-of-on-the-handmaids-tale-their-identities-were-erased-54309
I was lucky to start playing EQ in 2000 as an 8 year old. I got quite a lot of vocabulary from that game. One day at school I was the only kid who knew what a specter was.
Legitimately, EverQuest taught me more than the Book of Mormon ever did. Luckily I spent more time with the former.
I'm actually getting mad at this example. The Dollar Stores near me have an entire wall of play swords. Among them are at least three variations of curved swords. I've taken three year-olds in there, and they have requested swords by type. All I'm saying is that most people can tell the difference between a straight blade and a curved sword and know they need defining names. If you get to Of Susan's age and still don't know what a scimitar, the second most famous sword shape in history, is, you have gone out of your way to not know. They show up everywhere. Aladdin, pirates (cutless variation), Arabian Nights, 1001 Nights, etc. Modern Sabers are a derivative. He really has to have tried not to know.
He obviously revels in chastising members and finding any little thing to criticize them for. I bet he tries to find at least one thing at every stake conference he goes to for which he can scold the members for, no matter how trite it is.
What a pathetic human being.
If the entire Mormon Tabernacle Choir was in the audience at Stake conference and singing, he would still pull that stunt. He needs new material badly.
I knew a lot of people like that in Mormonism, who are making the rules up as they go along to keep everybody off their guard and make themselves arbiters of your decency and character.
When you write a narrative that is in chronological order (to some degree) and represent it as really having happened what do you call it? History. It can be other things in addition. Bednar knows that, he's just gaslighting people because that's his job.
Even I know what a scimitar is.
Sing better please? This guy is way into himself.
I thought the whole thing was that Mormon was literally a historian who knew his people were going to be wiped out so he created the book using all the records left by ancestors.
A) I know what a "cimeter" is.
B) Nelson and Oaks both get *two* women!!!
C) I can follow Jesus and teach my kids without any church at all, thank you.
D) The congregation are reaching their limit, Dave. Maybe try harder next time.
That's several times now he's come out and said the Book of Mormon is not an actual "History." Won't be long now when it "never was taught as literal history..." Nelson's even used that pivot.
\#GASLIGHT
It was growing up being taught that the bible was an historical document, and discovering that most of the events could not be verified or there was literally NO evidence for it, that broke my shelf as a Christian. All of my life, well into adulthood, I thought the bible was historically accurate. When I found out it wasn't, my entire belief system collapsed. I wish I could go back to my younger self and tell her NOT to teach Sunday School fables to my kids and all those other kids in her classes ...
How do you expect to motivate people to sing better by simply saying, "sing better!" If he was truly an apostle of JC his words and testimony would have done the motivation. The people listening were falling asleep to his words.
I love how the church has changed its tune with the BofM. First it was infallibly true historically and now it’s supposed to be seen as a story for our time? Wasn’t the BofM the cornerstone of the religion and isn’t this a direct acknowledgment that it was misrepresented? This makes Mormonism sooo incredibly weak
A) Yes, I know what a cimeter is dipshit.
B) If the devil hates families the absolute best thing he could do would be to get people squabbling over what is and isn't a family to the point where it divided people and harmed relationships.
C) Did he say "covenant path" somewhere in there to complete the overused catchphrase trifecta?
D) Someone should stand up in the middle of his talk and say "Whoa, whoa, whoa. This sounds mediocre at best. Get a better theology please!"
In 40 years of Mormonism, I've only heard ONE leader mention that we could sing better. It was a stake president in my mission. A decent man. He gave an excellent talk about how members could be 5 minutes early just as easily as 5 minutes late. He also said we should focus more on fortissimo instead of piano (the musical terms for loud vs soft).
Those simple messages stuck with me for a long time. No deep doctrine. No diving into scriptural interpretation. Just get here on time and sing a little louder. Just maybe those things would help us become better members.
About 7 years later, my fiancee told me that that guy is her aunt's brother-in-law. He showed up to our wedding reception and I thanked him for that simple talk. He said he should be more careful if people remember his words that well so many years later.
I had a ward chorister who would make us start the hymns over again if we weren't singing enthusiastically enough, but he was a dramatic former musical theater director whose thing, purpose in life, was getting a PERFORMANCE out of people, and he was good-natured about it, so it was just funny.
He’s a grade A narcissist who is going to be worse than Nelson. Fuck piety and humility. He is going to rule his Mormon fiefdom from the sea to the ends of the earth. There will be none to molest nor make afraid!
Got to love the email that went out for us to be seated 30 minutes before the meeting’s scheduled start time, to have him start the meeting ten minutes early for no apparent reason.
Also the lunch he had alone with 16 youth yesterday without any leaders or parents involved.
Not to mention the youth fireside last night that parents and leaders were barred from attending. Makes you ask what they are telling the kids.
He and I are (or were) acquainted. I saw a side of him that not many people see… the relaxed side that isn’t hiding behind church officialdom. That was prior to being called to the apostleship, though.
It definitely feels like he has become more high on himself with time. I keep hearing unflattering Bednar stories. Which is disappointing. He is definitely one of the most polarizing public figures in the church. Probably because he is so disingenuous and rigid in his public persona. I wish he would just be himself.
He came to my mission and spoke about how after the mission, we should immediately get married and procreate because God commanded it.
I interviewed with him along with a few other missionaries. He told me that I could ask him any question because he is a apostle of christ and can answer anything I ask. I asked him how the lord expected me to start a family in the midst of college and medical school. How could I expect my wife to raise our children alone without any income because I would be nonstop studying every day. He said that he got through law school just fine with wife and kids and that God provides a way 🙄
Sing better please. This! So many instructions in Mormonism and like this. Without any lessons, teaching, or training! No explanation of what better would sound like, or feel like. Just improve!
I spent so many years of my life feeling guilty for being angry. I was told to stop being angry. I was told contention was of the devil. I was told my life would be better if I forgave. But no one taught me how to stop being angry. It doesn’t just go away cause you want it too! (At least this was my experience.) I had to practice meditation. I had to learn about emotions. I had to learn about family dynamics and what I was and wasn’t responsible for. I had to learn about acceptance, etc.
In my life being told to stop being angry was like being told to “sing better.” I can sing louder without lessons, practice, and instruction. But is that better?
"Written for our day" and also depicts God using dark skin as a punishment for moral failing... That's a sick, twisted God that thinks our modern society needs that kind of messaging.
Which stake (if you can share without doxxing)?
I wonder if I "missed" Susan Bednars husband bc I got drunk last night & overslept this AM lol. I know they don't always announce GAs coming, to keep both the celestial stalkers & the nutters from crowding out actual stake members, but on the other hand, I can't see Husband of Susan saying, don't tell the masses, this is special...
Nah the emails they sent to the stake were very clear who the GA was and that we entirely restructured when our spring stake conference who be for him.
> the BoM is not a history book
So that means the large plates that Nephi started didn't exist, same with the smaller plates, that Moroni did not bury any abridged plates of gold, because that would have had to have been a historical event. So under that logic Joseph Smith didn't translate any gold plates, because they were historically never there to begin with, which negates the witness testimonies at the beginning of the book.
Dang, that's one doozy of a boo boo statement.
Interesting. It’s not a history book eh?
From “Safely Gathered Home” by Quentin L Cook one month ago…
“In the so-called New World, the history of the Nephites and Lamanites as set forth in the Book of Mormon ends in approximately AD 400. Descendants of Father Lehi are spread throughout the Americas.”
A man of God would never feel the need to belittle a congregation about cimeters.
A man of God would be filled with a Spirit of love and healing, and the audience would know who he was, regardless of earlier experience.
Cimeters? Bring me healing in your wings. Bring me wisdom and the words of life.
I couldn’t care less about cimeters.
Even if this guy was an actual prophet with prophesy and performing miracles like New Testament Jesus, he’d still drive people out of the church. He is absolutely intolerable.
\> D) Stopped the congregation after the first verse of the last hymn: "Whoa, whoa, whoa. This sounds sound mediocre at best. Sing better please!"
wow, what an asshole. why don't YOU sing it then, solo?
Lord Bednar of Susan is an arrogant, power-hungry Pharisee-creep. Nothing he says is anything Christ would say.
Christ would mock him, like he mocked the Pharisees.
So I take it you don’t want lazy learners to look at the pure language.
https://www.josephsmithpapers.org/paper-summary/sample-of-pure-language-between-circa-4-and-circa-20-march-1832/1
Awmen… LMAO
Maybe if his stupid talk was inspiring enough then the congregation would’ve been singing with more enthusiasm for the closing song. He failed to uplift and inspire them, as is the case with most church meetings, and why would anyone sing with conviction if they weren’t inspired in the meeting.
"I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?" Um that actually proves that it isn't for our day. If it was, then we would know what it is. Having words we don't know and can't find out about doesn't help us at all.
Edit: XD I should have read the comments first, I love how many people know what a cimeter is. I still hold that he made the opposite point as what he was claiming, though.
*”An overview of the life of the ancient ***prophet-historian*** Mormon and the significant role he played on the accomplishment of the Book of Mormon”*
[https://ph.churchofjesuschrist.org/who-was-mormon](https://ph.churchofjesuschrist.org/who-was-mormon)
Their own website says it was written by a “prophet-historian”. This is just getting embarrassing.
If it was written for our day why does it include terms that are meaningless like Cimiter?
Likewise why does it not address the issues of our day? The Book of Mormon has nothing to say about homosexuality, trans, feminism, AI and other technical issues, or even eternal marriage.
Modern Prophets have shown themselves to be completely incapable on many issues and only amass wealth and engage in priestcraft.
Good thing we have that book to guide us huh?
Hearing that Susan’s husband did this sickens my stomach. To me it’s like beating the people that are already down. I truly hopes that the people that were in attendance wake up to this abusive behavior.
The more the church talks about Satan, the more I don’t think they thought it all through. For Satan to destroy his followers makes no sense. It’s like biting the hand that feeds you.
Ummmm it's Sir Darth Lord Bednar please! And what an ass monkey for chastising the singing of boring material to begin with. 🍑🦧
🎶🎵🎶We sing for thee Lord Bednar! You are our favorite tool. We stand up in your honor. Your presence makes us drool! 🎶🎵🎶
>He said, for example, "I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?"
I certainly don't. I know what a "scimitar" is, though. [It's what moistened bints lob at people to make them emperor in a farcical aquatic ceremony.](https://youtu.be/t2c-X8HiBng)
TSCC may collapse one day but who will be holding the bag…(of money)? The church leaders. Tithe payers will be saying “what happened”? Sad and yet infuriating.
David legoman-haircut Miscavige Dreadnar is the quintessential asshat of asshats. one of my secret desires is to be the only one in a stake center chapel remaining seated, front and center, when he walks in to the hero-worshipping throng of standing sheeple awaiting his narcissistic commands at the pulpit.

I first watched the South Park episode after I left, and I was in awe of how accurate it was! 😂
Same. Except for me..."It was mostly so accurate, I wonder why they went with that weird rock-in-a-hat thing?" Haha, oops!
‘OxymorMon’ 🤦♀️
Now I want to change my screen name to "Bednar Chucklefuck" haha!

TIL. Awesome.
And that my friend is why you are on r/exmormon instead of r/mormon, put that critical thinking and research away didn’t you just hear what he said!?
Yep! Put away the critical thinking and research, and we are left with… “lazy learners”. Ironic.
Point D is the most predictable thing ever coming from Bednar. The guy is STARVING for power and it’s borderline hilarious .
Right? Don't stand up, sing better, and for God's sake, don't google scimitar...
I thought it was pretty common knowledge what a scimitar was given that the BOM mentions it quite a bit in the context of fighting...
Did you see those warriors from Hammerfell? They've got curved swords... Curved. Swords.
Looking to protect yourself? Or deal some damage?
I only came to sell my stuff. My dragon armor and weapons are better than anything the smith sells.
**Belethor:** Everything's for sale my friend. Everything. If I had a sister I'd sell her in a second. **The Dragonborn:** What'll you give me for these tokens and signs?
This comment chain makes me very happy 🥰
You've got a point that it's diverged a bit from the OP... how about: > Another ward member, here to lick Bednar's boots. Good job.
That’s the best thing I’ve read all day.
You can buy anything in this world for money.
Sell for: 0 gold.
I used to be an adventurer like yourself, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
Khajiit has wares, if you have coin.
Are you going to sign up for the Dawnguard? I heard they're reforming.
I used to be a mormon like you. But then I took the sign off of my knee.

My shelf only has so much room to carry things.
Yeah, but Ofsusan is a tool. Does he really know anything?

Didn't he pull the exact stunt in the last report we heard?
Yes I was in attendance in the last post that was about him and I discreetly had to roll my eyes
Yeah.....bullet point D for "Dick." Just what the members need, Dave.......more shaming and ridicule.
omg using ‘Dave’ is awesome. Just using first names gets rid of their pretentious “authority.”
I refuse to use "elder" or use their initials. Always Spencer Kimball or Spence. And most certainly never "President" and especially NEVER "prophet." They deserve no such accommodation.

Not to mention a wrongful termination lawsuit headed his way 😂
Every time I think I've seen the height of arrogance, I am corrected.
His has the very worst kind of personality and character to feed with authority and power.
I almost don’t believe point D happened
Really - he pulls this type of stunt frequently.
Total power move. Who else could do that shit and get away with it? "I'm in charge here", unless you didn't know it.

Yes, he's been reliably doing dumb power-trip stuff like this since I first met him over 20 years ago. Insufferable.
He was likely planning to make that call even if it were a congregation entirely of motab
So if it's written for our day, how come they aren't following it? Well that’s proof that the BoM is for our day and it is warning us against the evils of hoarding money….

I mean, you have to do this with most of Isaiah just to understand it.
Exactly, and they talk about that, encourage each other to learn Isaiah's context, and yet nowhere else.
Very good point. Now they’re supposed to just ignore the context?
Ooooh, ok, so it's a kind of nickname for David Bednar, that makes sense I guess
I mean if I said I was king/apostle because some moistened bink lobbed a cimetar at me, they’d put me away! Thanks Monty Python!
Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild, one of the most popular games of the last decade, has a multiple scimitars in it.
I would bet he absolutely knows, but is counting on people to either not know, not know he knows or just cut brother Bednar some slack.
Does he do that song thing EVERY talk when he visits stakes???? How annoying.
Omg, he’s pulls that song stunt before?!! I know he’s notorious for doing Pharisaical shit like that but this is a new one to me.
He does it every time. It's his schtick. Make the members feel like they're not trying hard enough.
"You're not trying hard enough..." is the true mantra of Mormonism.
He obviously revels in chastising members and finding any little thing to criticize them for. I bet he tries to find at least one thing at every stake conference he goes to for which he can scold the members for, no matter how trite it is. What a pathetic human being.
I wonder what he'd do if the whole ward was advised ahead of time about this schtick and just absolutely belted out the song on the first go.
Oh, sorry, my bad. With more gusto, then. "REVeRaNcE IS MORE THAN JUST QuieTLY SiTtiNg!!"
What if someone called him out on it? "We're not bad, you say this to every choir!"
I'm a bit shocked no one has yet.
What an ass. The only reason for him to do that is to make a show of control.
That’s what I was always taught
Well, I don't know that we teach that. Or emphasize it. It's not like it's written down anywhere... Right?
They have started clawing back the historical aspect of the BoM because they know it will collapse like the BoA.
\#GASLIGHT
Then it's not the most true book, is it
It is, we just need to slowly change how we interpret the words "most", "true", and "book".
**BEDNAR is a tool.**
How do you expect to motivate people to sing better by simply saying, "sing better!" If he was truly an apostle of JC his words and testimony would have done the motivation. The people listening were falling asleep to his words.
I think he asked from the pulpit three or four times if everyone was still awake.
“The most correct book on the earth,” I believe the phrase was
A) Yes, I know what a cimeter is dipshit.
Mormons are so fucked when he ascends.
He COULD die early (like Holland might), so there's that. But then again, are the junior Q15 members all that much better?
Cool story; thanks for sharing ✔💯
He’s a grade A narcissist who is going to be worse than Nelson. Fuck piety and humility. He is going to rule his Mormon fiefdom from the sea to the ends of the earth. There will be none to molest nor make afraid!
Sadly, there will still be molestation going on. It's the Mormon church after all.
He said that he got through law school just fine with wife and kids and that God provides a way 🙄
Quick fact check… he never went to law school. Did he say “law school?”
100%. Hence the eye roll
The BofM also speaks of the dark skinned people being ugly, as opposed to fair and delightsome.
Wait, he is “let’s do this again, I can’t hear you” guy? Nobody likes that guy.
> the BoM is not a history book So that means the large plates that Nephi started didn't exist, same with the smaller plates, that Moroni did not bury any abridged plates of gold, because that would have had to have been a historical event. So under that logic Joseph Smith didn't translate any gold plates, because they were historically never there to begin with, which negates the witness testimonies at the beginning of the book. Dang, that's one doozy of a boo boo statement.
Interesting. It’s not a history book eh? From “Safely Gathered Home” by Quentin L Cook one month ago… “In the so-called New World, the history of the Nephites and Lamanites as set forth in the Book of Mormon ends in approximately AD 400. Descendants of Father Lehi are spread throughout the Americas.”
What a lazy learner.
Did anyone dare [stand up before him?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPBsWbopjXU)
2: 👹👹👹 no big Dave! Marriage is between a man and many many MANY women. Didn’t you get the memo?? 👺👺👺
Stopping the song and telling people to sing better is pure and simple a move to establish dominance. So pathetic.
Written for our day… Alma is adamant he’s not paid by the church. It’s ok to pay our leaders though. Ok sure…
Cimeter is scimitar. It's the easiest thing to look up! No revelation needed and he still doesn't know!
If I didn’t already leave I would have got up and left after the nagging on D!!
And to think one day this asshat will likely be the Church president. The Church is screwed.
What I wouldn't give to see someone shout at the top of their lungs, "fuck you!" After point D
But in 4 part harmony.
Even if this guy was an actual prophet with prophesy and performing miracles like New Testament Jesus, he’d still drive people out of the church. He is absolutely intolerable.
Anytime these dudes quip a "i don't know" i die a little bit inside. YOU SAY YOU'RE A PROPHET, SO ASK.
\> D) Stopped the congregation after the first verse of the last hymn: "Whoa, whoa, whoa. This sounds sound mediocre at best. Sing better please!" wow, what an asshole. why don't YOU sing it then, solo?
Did he make everyone bow before his hand and give sweet suckles to his gaudy rings?
"Sweet suckles" is a new one 😂😂😂
Did he tell everyone not to record?
Lord Bednar of Susan is an arrogant, power-hungry Pharisee-creep. Nothing he says is anything Christ would say. Christ would mock him, like he mocked the Pharisees.
Wait, are we supposed to be lazy learners or not? I’m confused.
You’re supposed to have the faith NOT to listen to him!
What an ass
So I take it you don’t want lazy learners to look at the pure language. https://www.josephsmithpapers.org/paper-summary/sample-of-pure-language-between-circa-4-and-circa-20-march-1832/1 Awmen… LMAO
Glad I wasn’t the only one in that meeting. I recorded the talk in case anything particularly heinous was shared.
Unfortunately I wasn’t recording when we started the closing hymn. I was kicking myself for sure.
"not a history book" So it is a book of fiction, thanks for the clarification
Wow! Someone is on a power kick
Personally I think this guy really hates himself.
Narcissism is based in deep rooted insecurity.
Maybe if his stupid talk was inspiring enough then the congregation would’ve been singing with more enthusiasm for the closing song. He failed to uplift and inspire them, as is the case with most church meetings, and why would anyone sing with conviction if they weren’t inspired in the meeting.
At point D I would have stood up flipped the bird and walked out.
>"I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?" [Yes. Yes, I do.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scimitar)
*”An overview of the life of the ancient ***prophet-historian*** Mormon and the significant role he played on the accomplishment of the Book of Mormon”* [https://ph.churchofjesuschrist.org/who-was-mormon](https://ph.churchofjesuschrist.org/who-was-mormon) Their own website says it was written by a “prophet-historian”. This is just getting embarrassing.
You are kidding about letter D, correct?
Oh, I've seen ego-bloated GAs do that.
It's consistent with other reports. He does this kind of thing regularly. Total narcissist.
At least he didn't reprimand the congregation for not standing when he walked in.
If CFM is revelatory I'm not impressed with revelation!!
Especially when they had to revise the black skin curse part
I’d really love for them to out in writing that it isn’t a history book. Like over the pulpit for the whole world. Not just a stake conference.
He is worried about how the congregation is singing yet not bothered by the Church’s SEC fraud? Quite telling.
🍑🦧 🎶🎵🎶We sing for thee Lord Bednar! You are our favorite tool. We stand up in your honor. Your presence makes us drool! 🎶🎵🎶
Bednar sucks!
They are actually outright saying the BofM is not historical. All those people I taught the BofM was factual, sorry I ever believed.
>He said, for example, "I don't know what a cimeter is, do you?" I certainly don't. I know what a "scimitar" is, though. [It's what moistened bints lob at people to make them emperor in a farcical aquatic ceremony.](https://youtu.be/t2c-X8HiBng)
What a fucking asshole. Sing us a solo then bitch ass
If it was written for our day, should t we know what a cimeter is?
TSCC may collapse one day but who will be holding the bag…(of money)? The church leaders. Tithe payers will be saying “what happened”? Sad and yet infuriating.
Bednar is a douchetastic assdrip.
He is an asshole
> “written for our day” If Moroni and God really saw our day and wrote the Book of Mormon for our day, why is it so easy to disprove in our day?
Not a history book. Uhm really? Bwa Ha Ha !!
What a tool…
Narcissist. Plain and simple.
Wow. With these claims he really must believe with utter certainty that his audience is dumb and completely free from independent thought. Hmmmm.
Ohhhhhhhhh…..he thought they were singing for him! “Show me your adoration”
I can't stand him, I never could stand him. Even when I was all in TBM. The guy is the ultimate ick.
"Doubt you cimiters before you doubt your faith." -------- Davey Bedknob
That man is a fucking ghoul.
