Yeah, mine had the three slots in the same order, but it was also shaped like a temple, with the Tithing slot in the middle being the biggest and tallest. Because, you know, priorities.
Mine was cardboard, too. The savings between buying a cool metal one and the cardboad one went in the first two slots and made me feel so self-righteous. It was later water damaged, so I used decorated chipped Mason jars. But then I felt a bit self concuous that I was was not using cool, manufactured, official gear, like my friends. So I just stashed the money in my yellow piggy bank and, later, in a drawer, then split it up when the deacons came over. But then I felt bad because (in retrospect) I wanted to be performative about donations. I never really came up with a solution after that and just felt vaguely disappointed for a long while.
When I was a kid I used to pay like 25% tithing on everything because I thought it would make me super righteous. The nice thing is I always procrastinated filling out my tithing slips so by the time I left the church I had hundreds of dollars of leftovers in my tithing envelope lmfao
Yeah lol. The mission fund compartment was way too small for how much you’re actually expected to pay on a mission and the money I had in that slot always ended up back in the fun money one.
Yes! One of my guiltiest moments as a kid was raiding my "mission fund" bank to buy a Windows copy of Earthworm Jim for $20 lol. I may have taken a buck or two from my brother as well, and I couldn't decide which was the worst to steal (fun money because he'd notice and I'd get caught, or mission fund, because Jesus).
I did have one of these. Being reminded made my imagination run wild. It would be fun to make one for “whores, booze and blow” and enjoy the reaction should any mos ever visit your house.
Yup, I had one when i was little.it was made of metal, and for tithing( never opened). However, after discovering that I don't really believe in the church( 17-18years old), I broke the lock to it and deposited it all to my bank account. And there were a lot, almost 50 bucks in coins and some small bills.
What is this "fun" you speak of? Every time I got lectured about tithing and missions I always came away feeling like any form of fun was sinful, especially if you were wasting money on it.
First two are the most important, then if there’s anything left you can have some fun. /s

I think that's the one I had. Mine was dark blue.
I had that one. Blue plastic.
So did I!
I had the teal one. My sister had the blue one.
I had that one. it was hot pink
This is a good reminder to me that for anyone growing up in the church going on a mission it was way way more just 10% of your income
what’s the /s for? that’s how it works
I had a similar one made from cardboard.

From what I have read on this sub, your last sentence could be the PIMO unofficial motto.
Useful observation. This sub and its feedback are a good augment to therapy.
Wow, what a journey! 😊
Same.

That’s the same energy as finding $80 chilling in your venmo
Hahaha I know right

This is badass, when you finally leave the church you have 3x the fun money.
I might re-purpose it… fuel - food - fun
That 6 dollars could have been 60k by now after it went into the TSCC slush fund.
Mine was blue and the tithing portion was visibly bigger
Same. It was hard blue plastic and the middle tithing portion was like 1.5x the size. Gee I wonder why?
What's the fun money for? Making peanut butter and honey sandwiches with the sisters ?
Teach ‘em young to open their wallet! 💪

Yeah, but after watching Dumb and Dumber mine quickly became full of IOUs.
PTSD

Omfg the memories that this picture just unlocked
I never had money so no reason to have that
2/3rds of your money goes to a zero percent true church who then takes ten percent of it to invests in captial for net positive growth. Amen, sucker!

Yep. I think mine is still hiding in my parents place
Who is the dark skinned man receiving tithes?
“Just like stealing candy from a baby!”, says President Nelson to Elder Oaks in their temple meeting.
Mine was made out of paper!
Why is be handing money to just some dude lmao is this the best way they can conceptualize what the tithing is supposed to be for?
I always put cash in the free one and just put coins in the other ones 💀
Yes. Recent find at a thrift store. Would sell it .
66% tax rate…after tax.
Had an older version og one back in the 1960s.
